The New Garden Gate in Birmingham

We go here quite often love the food and the staff are nice but the big thing that let's this place down is the fact that when you go into the garden there are people constantly smoking drugs this should not be allowed. They are obviously aware of what's going on but no one puts a stop to it.

This is definitely one of the best grill restaurants for MILES! It's over 42 miles away from me but still happy to travel that distance for the superb curries & grills served here. Food is very low cost but excellent quality & taste. The grills are massive! A real credit to the Nepalese head chef Hemel. 🥳😋 Good sized car park with plenty of spaces. Only slight downside is the atmosphere & furniture. It's starting to look shabby with overly bright lighting & a proliferation of TV screens everywhere constantly showing football. It's not to everyone's taste. Just wished this restaurant was closer to home!

All the food was good and tasty. It's a good option for a good dinner and drinks.

Takeaway food ordered Tasteless with no flavour. Chicken Pathia it definitely wasn't. Balti was same.

Ha venido aquí desde que reabrió con mi esposa e hija pequeña. Me quejé del fuerte olor a cannabis que provenía de un grupo de personas en el jardín de cerveza hace un par de años y me aseguraron que se abordaría. Hoy he venido aquí de nuevo y el mismo tema. Fui al bar a pedir bebidas. El barman me miró fijamente. Sin acuse de recibo o solicitud de pedido de bebidas. No sorprende que el lugar estuviera vacío un viernes por la noche. Esto y el hecho de que recientemente se le dio una calificación de higiene alimentaria cero. Los modales no cuestan nada. Mi dinero irá a otra parte la próxima vez y dejaré que todos entren en mis sitios de redes sociales también. En un momento en el que todos los negocios de alimentos / bebidas están luchando, la apreciación más básica hacia los clientes debe ser clave. Evite este lugar si no le gusta el humo pasivo de cannabis y los malos modales.

Me gustó mucho la comida agradable y se obtiene mucho por su dinero en la parrilla yo aconsejaría 1 parrilla mediana es suficiente para 2 personas y cuidado con la especia.

We had a Birthday party in their function room. Service was excellent along with the food. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the venue. Thoroughly recommend it for small do’s for around 50 people;

Amazing atmosphere, with a back garden to enjoy with a big screen! Loved watching the euros, but the food gets even better! I recommend the amritsari saslik with masala chips! So tasty!!! Service was great, a side of poppadom with some sauces along with your food!

Garden gate is our local. I always order from there . The food and staff are always amazing. A good shoutout to Sonia who always gives me top class service.

I recommend the fish pakoras and chicken tikka masala, neither of which I'd normally choose when I eat out, but they are really flavourful. Most of the food is great/good, and although a few things aren't to my taste, it's nothing to do with the quality. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

El número 46 en nuestro viaje mixie era la nueva puerta del jardín. Bonita decoración por dentro, buen servicio amable. Como siempre, comenzamos con la parrilla grande mixta GG. Todo fue excelente, pollo tikka de los mejores que hemos tenido. Luego fue por un pollo al curry de mantequilla, arroz frito con huevo y cilantro de ajo naan. Curry decente, uno de los mejores arroces que hemos probado y un excelente naan. Tampoco esperé mucho por la comida. Muy muy impresionado con este lugar y volveremos.

We sat in separate hall, we fully enjoyed the food and staff are very polite and take the order from the table and its Fully worth it. I used to drink in that pub many years ago.. but as time goes by .. you tend to just use your local.. But since of late as there's a new management ..which is a bar / restaurant with Asian food .. the chef who is from Nepal..is wonder full.. in his cooking taste..and presention..is absolutely fantastic.. Think we will be visiting that place more often

Amazing food and prompt service, the best Indian restaurant (and possibly best restaurant full stop) I have ever been to. The vegan options were phenomenal and didn’t feel like an after thought. Couldn’t recommend more highly

I booked a table for 10 people last night ,honestly speaking if you are foodie like me , you will definitely love this place.We loved everything we tried. I personally recommended Gorkhali chicken spicy. It was wonderful day😘.

Ordered a mixed meat wrap for takeaway. When i got home and pealed off the foil the naan was soaking wet and fell apart. It was dripping with grease and water from the boiled onions. Only about 5 tiny pieces of meat inside., packed with onions and nothing else. Absolutely terrible food, preparation and service. Literally go anywhere else would be my advice ! Went straight in the bin. Wished I’d taken a photo to show how poor it looked!

Had the GG mixed grill. Food was very good apart from the salmon which was a bit dry. Good for 3 people. Televisions were on very loud as was the music, so quite difficult to hear each other speak in a group.

Sat out in the beer garden at the back. Lovely and spacious. Friendly service, food came out lovely and hot.

My order never arrived, the driver has claimed it has been delivered. He’s either delivered it to the wrong house or kept the food.

The mixed grill was reasonably priced. However, the atmosphere and crowd in the beer garden wasn't what you'd want your family to be around

First time customer. The curries altho delicious, were a little over salty, everything else was perfect, the egg fried rice is extremely delicious!! Better than any I have had from chinese or Indian ever!!! I would order again & just ask for less salty curry.

I have put any stars because i was here solely for a private function Attended a private party here. They have a room which you can hire out for private events.i was here for a birthday party.You can provide your own food own DJ, and your own decorations. I can't comment on the food of the establishment only on the room hire. Staff were friendly when we needed items for the room. Held around 50 people. Parking is free, but you have to register your car details at the front of bar unordered not to get a fine.

Unfortunately, was disappointed with the order I received today. The mixed grill had no green tikka in there. I didn’t receive my mango chutney and only received one poppadom.

Overall a nice place, caught up with old friends, food wasn't bad either think they new car parking system so make sure you log your reg into the computer system at the bar.

Been here a few times and has become my new local for food and drinks, each time we have eaten here the food has been sensational and the drinks are reasonably priced as well, staff are all friendly and welcoming and on top of that the customer service is great

My first time here. I've had food from here as a food delivery and wasn't particularly impressed. However, when I visited here it was a little different. The mix grill was pretty good. The curries were well presented but they were little too sweet for me especially the King Prawn Curry. Not sure if it's the Nepalese style of cooking where they like their dishes on the sweet side. Generally it was ok, but nothing spectacular. It's a friendly pub, good service and they can pull a decent pint of Guinness

Recently I visited garden gate with my friends Nd it is an amazing place. I came here with my friends recommendation the wait (without the reservations) was shorter than expected. The service was outstanding we had two people with allergies then also they take care of everything. Her recommendation were perfect we all are vegetarian so we ordered butter paneer soya tikka butter naan and everything is delicious like we are in India Every staff member having a friendly nature. Will be returning next time I m town for sure

The food was not what we what were expecting. Ordered several dishes, How can you make a lamb diopiaza, lamb balti and a chicken balti look the same. There was a distinct lack of varying flavours in each individual curry dish either the dish was over spiced or very mild, lack of green peppers or tomatoes. Very disappointing Such a poor effort considering size of order. That said customer facing staff were lovely.

The food is vile,if you like Indian food go to the grove in handsworth it can’t be beaten,thought I would try this place the chicken tikka tasted like tomato ketchup the naan was not fresh and the chips was as big as king kongs finger,terrible place

We have booked the New Garden Gate firstly for my Grandson's first birthday and my wife's 50th birthday party. On both occasions we have staff to the helpful and go above and beyond to meet our function needs. A special thank you to our Sonia. Finally the food is first class delicious food.

We enjoyed a mixed grill and curry, plus ordered a takeaway for later. Came with extras, very nice. Need not have ordered takeaway as we had to leave with doggy bags! Staff friendly. Will definitely return.

Definitely a fan of this place, the service was fantastic and welcoming, the pub itself is huge, spacious and comfortable, the food is good, not up there with the best I've had, but still very good. There's a fairly good beer selection. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places these days. Nice touch serving complimentary poppadoms shortly before the food comes out.

Went to The New Garden Gate and it was epic! Started with Chilli Chips – spicy and addictive. The Paneer was super creamy and the Chicken and Lamb were full of flavor. Hard to pick a favorite. The service was top-notch. Staff were friendly and quick, making the whole place feel like a family-run business. They made us feel right at home. And guess what? We even met the owner! It was great to see the person behind the food, and they were really welcoming, adding to that family vibe. The place was clean with a nice, cozy vibe, perfect for grabbing some comfort food. Overall, The New Garden Gate is a winner. Fantastic food, awesome people, and a family feel that makes you want to return. Totally going back, and you should too if you’re into tasty Indian food. great desi pub. booked a table for 16 people for a birthday. tables were all ready for us when we arrived, pre ordered food. staff and food were spot on. Highly recommend this venue for celebrations and general casual dining. great attentive staff

Visited here a few days ago, food seems to be good, very busy, plenty of seating. However the service and wait time to get the food is absoloutly ridiculous. They clearly need more staff or better trained staff

Food was cold they send food in the plastic bag that’s why food not hot😔

Food was cold, delivery took ages, watching the map and the driver was sitting in the same place for 15 minutes, food was tasteless. Would not recommend!
