Lovely curry but did not receive any popadums this evening, most Indian restaurants give you free popadum with every main so was expecting two. So had to give 4 stars but would have been 5 if received popadums.

Raj nagal is unreal bappa was extremely helpful and kind 10/10 will definitely come again

Rice, Naan bread, Sag Aloo all tasted ok. Chicken Madras tasted bland. Will not order from them again.

8 of us go for a curry every month, we had been going to Southsea but after 2 disappointing curries we decided to go to the New Taj Mahal (we could take our own beer). The food was amazing, the service was superb and this is now our new Curry Club curry house

Our new residency for our Curry Club, once a month 8 or 9 of us go out. Were disappointed at our last curry house but the New Taj Mahal is amazing, great food and great friendly service, Top curry house

Had to message the restaurant to find out where delivery was . Told my original time had to be changed despite this, it was still late . One starter and two mains were unfortunately cold

Food was delivered on time but was so cold not a nice experience, I only live 5 minutes away but still stone cold food, will not be ordering again £30 of my hard earned money x

The food was good enough but I was given a load of abuse from a delivery driver down the phone saying I didn't know my own address and I should know better - giving me abuse because he struggle to locate our address. When he arrived he was shown the road sign to prove it was right but had a horrible attitude, really rude and said I ought to put my REAL address before ordering again. Completely put us off our food and extremely poor customer service. I do expect something to be done about this and some compensation provided!!

Still a good curry but….. the curry used to be extraordinary and the last 2 times it seems to be different and it’s now just a little different. I really hope there isn’t new owners or something and it goes back to how I love. Been using this place for 9 years I think so shame if it’s changed chef/owners

This restaurant is consistently and continuously the best Indian delivery in Portsmouth. I’ve never had a bad meal in all the 9 years I’ve been using them. Hope they never ever retire 😂😂⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was cold, and the chips were disgusting so I haven’t eaten them. My curry was also barely even full it was like someone had poured loads out before it had gotten delivered. I am not happy again and I would like a refund into my bank.

It’s very bad taste and we seen the hair in the plate but they didn’t accept it and they shout on us

Got a hair from samosas and owner claimed that’s it not ours it’s yours. Very rude behaviour. Swearing on customers and even came to fight.

The food remains the same great quality, but recently, the onion baghies have shrunk to half the size. The delivery time lately I add 15 mins to the tine I request

Anyone that remembers the dhansak from the shalimar in the 1990s will absolutely love this. I'm addicted to the chicken tikka dhansak from here it is balanced and delicious. Give it a try and you will be back just like me driving over a 20 mile round trip every week for this delicious meal 👍

The delivery driver was rude. Couldn’t find my address and he hung up the phone and ignored me when tried to call him back then lied and said his car broke down

Took ages to get here , was cold , the onion bagee was weird not balls like sausages , korma was watery

Been using New Taj for about 10 years and it’s still the best curry in Portsmouth. I’ve never ever had a bad meal from them and they are all so friendly as well. I’m a massive fan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Extremely disappointed as ive wait 2 hours and had limited responses to only get cold food which had a fly in one of the bags. Wont be ordering again

3 hours late and not worth the wait. I always use the actual restaurant for delivery. This is the first and last I’ll use your service.

The onion baghee was ok as was the tikka starter. However the Chicken Pathia was a disgusting mess of thick curry sauce with no semblance of the normal dish which should be spicy , semi dry and with tomatoes . The dish was inedible . Perhaps the chef needs some lessons in how to prepare a proper Pathia

Delivery driver decided he couldn’t bring food up. Food was Luke warm. Poppadoms smashed into small pieces and tough chicken. Not impressed

Lovely taste, arrived in the time it said it would, very friendly delivery man. Only knocked one star off quality as the chicken felt reformed. Didn’t effect flavour at all, which was great!

Great food, tasted very flavoursome and fresh. It was ready for collection before the estimated time which was great. The till was empty upon entry and I had to shout on someone to come serve me. So if you’re stood about waiting I would advise you do the same to get someone’s attention. I would recommend highly based on the food as it was lovely!

Tasted very greasy and as though the oil hadn’t been changed for a long time. Compared to the usual place I go it was far more expensive for far less quality.
