Had a delivery was very nice would highly reccomend.

Ordered a take away, so couldn't comment t on atmosphere. Food was really good and service friendly and efficient

Fresh curry bursting with flavour, came hot and tasted amazing, staff are very respectful and professional. Would highly recommend, non meat option tasted great.

Don't taist the same it's like the chef has changed definitely not as good as it was very disappointed

We had takeaway for my birthday yesterday. The meal was great, it always is. I have chicken tikka masala it was really nice. I liked that it was spicy.

A Derby institution. Good food and can accommodate large groups. Bring your own drinks (always helpful when you're a large party, so less confusion when working out the bill!)

Decided to go for a takeaway curry last night from Balti International. My partner and I both opted for the butter chicken and garlic rice and cheesy garlic naan bread each. The food itself tasted okay and we didn’t think anything of it until 5am this following morning myself and my partner woke up with stomach cramps and upset stomachs. Myself throughout the day after this takeaway violently threw up several times and my partner the same. This was the only food we had eaten all day due to us being busy so we definitely know it was from this meal. I would urge anyone ordering from here to be careful as I’ve felt horrendous all day after this curry and never experienced food poisoning quite like it before. Very disappointing and ultimately dangerous!

The food was amazing, the service was second to none, well worth a visit or two.. and they even prepared a meal that wasn't on the menu for my fussy daughter with no fuss whatsoever 😊 P.s try the cheese naan it's to die for 🤤🤤🤤

My first visit with friends, we got a very warm Welcome and the service was brilliant throughout. Exceptionally tasty food , served promptly and piping hot. desserts were equally as delicious, followed by coffee. Can’t wait to visit again . Many thanks .

Great food and very good staff! To take orders for a table of 6 and then to remember who had which starter and main course is splendid - something I rarely experience in a restaurant. Also the concept of bringing one's own alcoholic drinks (not soft drinks unless you want a £10 charge!) is excellent.

Ordered a few times before and it was lovely! Couldn't fault it, last 3 times have been awful!! Medium curries burning our mouths out, no taste just spice to the point you can't enjoy it! Filled with oil no onions or any other veg when its stated in the description. Will not order again. Very disappointed as was so nice before.

We've just had our first takeaway from Balti International, it was superb, from the politeness of the gentleman taking the order, to the accuracy of the food delivered, to the quality of the food, could not fault them.👍

Had takeaways from here many times over the years and always been great. This time round we had the house special karahi and the murghi masala. Really tasty. Just how curries should be. The full 5 stars

Huge miss. Food was seriously watery with no flavour. That is three successive deliveries which have been hugely disappointing. Time for a new chef!

If I could leave no stars I would , starters were nice , but the main chicken curry’s egg fried rice and naans were all awful rice had no taste at all just boiled rice with egg in , curry was watery and just very spicy , and naans were soft all were incredibly hot like they had just come out of the microwave, for £66 it was a complete waste of money when I complained they very kindly knocked £6 off , personally I’d have just paid for the starters , I read the reviews on trip advisor about how bad the food was and I should have taken note will definitely never go there again

Absolute terrible service food was cold I didn’t feel comfortable when I was eating all the people that was serving was being so jugeing me as if I did something wrong and one server actually denied my service I was absolutely shocked it’s never again experience ( me and my wife went )

Visited last night whilst in the area for business, food was flavoursome, staff were very welcoming and it had a nice atmosphere. Definitely would come again

Booked over the phone which was very easy. Welcomed at the door and shown quickly to our seats. Didn't have to wait for drinks as it's a BYOB restaurant. We ordered some Poppadums' & pickles which arrived very quickly, fresh tasty with 4 pickles to chose from. My wife ordered the vegetable samosa which again came quickly and was delicious; crispy but fluffy on the inside. Our mains were Kaghani Lamb (Mild) but they were happy to increase the spice and make it medium. I had the Chicken Jalfrezi (Medium/Hot) with pilau rice. Both dishes were extremely tasty and fresh. The naan bread was also freshly made. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great food and service. The waiters were extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the dishes.

Really bland so called Indian food. In fact I don't think Indian people would eat the bland and tasteless food they serve here. The prices have gone up a lot to what they used to be. The only saving grace is you can take your own alcohol as this place doesn't have a drinks license. They used to provide a jug of tap water but now they sell bottles of water at exorbitant prices. We could have got better microwave curries from Tesco to be honest. £75 for three main courses, two naan breads, two pilau rices, pickle tray and five popadoms to start. One bottle of water, two little bottles of cola. These are London prices for what is a back street curry house in a run down part of Derby.

Disappointed with our last visit. The food was nice, although a little expensive. We were seated upstairs where it was cold (even though downstairs was empty). As soon as we finished our food they turned the heating off. It's a shame as we've been many times over the years but it seems it's time to find somewhere new. ☹️

Reunion for customers of The Rowditch Pub. Around 30 attended, and it was an excellent evening, enjoyed by all.

Been a regular for many years now, super friendly staff, great service and really good food. Can’t recommend this place enough, there’s plenty of options near my home But always choose to travel 12 miles round trip just to eat here! First class

I attended this Indian as part of a group booking and I was made to feel welcome on arrival. We were seated quickly at the table, were handed menus and were asked if we wanted any soft drinks. This restaurant is not licensed to sell alcohol and it has a 'bring your own bottle' , however, soft drinks can be purchased from the bar. The menu has a variety of dishes to choose from to suit different taste buds. I opted for the Butter Chicken, Coconut Rice and Nan Bread. The Butter Chicken was melt in the mouth and it had just the right amount of spices and plenty of meat content, pairing well with the Coconut Rice. All was good value for money. Thanks and I look forward to my next visit.

Have eaten in and used them for delivery, and can't recommend them highly enough. They have a lovely team, a clean restaurant, and the food is fantastic. There pretty flexible too, so if you want to order something with a change they can normally accommodate it. Very limited parking though, because of the location, so you'll often have to park a bit further away and walk down to them.

Tiny portions of cold food containing very little meat. Sorry to say I will not be rushing back, which is a shame as I have had some fantastic meals from here in the past.

Lovely atmosphere with fantastic service. Not licenced but you can take your own wine or tipple of choice in. The food is great. We had the Naga Chicken and Lamb Tika Madras, which we shared between us to taste each. Can recommend both (we like things hot), but the Naga Chicken was my favourite of the two. We shared poppadoms with pickles to start. And had the Cadbury ice cream to finish which was also great. The lime pickle is lovely.

Another excellent evening meal with friends..staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is delicious. I don't drink but you can bring your own alcoholic drink but soft drinks can be brought there.

Worst Pakora out of 5 places I've tried in Derby. Small portions and very expensive. Dry and tasteless, clearly cooked from frozen from a ready made bag.

Had a takeaway. The food was 10/10. Tandoori fsh is definitely worth trying if you like fish.

Worst Indian food in the UK. Bhindi bhajee is Uncooked frozen Bhindi bhajee, Garlic Chicken tikka is chicken tikka swimming in sour water and Hot paneer chilli is Paneer dipped in sweet chilli sauce. I threw food in the bin.

8 years later after a terrible experience - was Balti international any good? Well, if you consider chucking our order in the bin, blaming the kitchen, crappy food, being served after everyone else and getting nowt but an insincere ‘sorr-eh’, then yep it’s fabulous.

My first visit to the restaurant and I won't be rushing to return. I am not exaggerating to say it was as warm outside as it was sat at the table . There was a constant draft coming from the entrance and filled the room . Also the wash basin in the toilet was cold water only as it seemed like the central heating and boiler were left off due to lack of customers. Obviously when the food arrived it was soon cold and I mean very cold. I will say that the Food and service was great but when we asked to have the heating increased the Waiter said he would but I can safely say that the temperature if anything decreased.if I mention that a lady with us was sat in her winter coat whilst eating her food I think that pretty much sums it up! Such a shame that was the only thing to spoil the experience but I have to say all of this in the hope that this will not be repeated for other diner's.

Place was abit crampt, abit pricy for tiny portions. We asked for meduim spice in currys but came bland.

It's okay. Generic curries. They call the Currys different names but they all look and taste the same!

This was chosen mostly just because of it's location when another restaurant was closed, but we were quite happy. Didn;t realise it was a Bring Your Own Bottle until we arrived... but there is an off licence across the road. The quality of the food was good, portions sizes just OK, and the prices were maybe a bit above what you'd expect for a city Indian restaurant, especially a BYOB, so I'd probably have given it a 3 except for the service- a very pleasant, knowledgeable and welcoming chap who was efficient, friendly, attentive without being intrusive. It made a decent meal memorable.

Another superb experience here at Balti International. Great food and truly special hospitality. A pleasure every time we've been. Edit - A year on and I've still never had a bad meal here. These guys are never off. Best Indian in Derby?

Over an hoiur, seems standard. But a cold curry, cold chips, salad when we asked for no salad, and no rice included in the price (our usual place is) and I didn't realise as the webiste wasn't easy to navigate - it asked twice if I wanted salad with the bhaji? But didn't ask for rice with the buna? Will not return. £26 for a cold curry, chips and no rice!

Dropped in for a table for 2 on a quiet Thursday evening. We were able to grab the meal deal at £17.95 for popadums, starter and main. We paid extra to have difference rice and naan to the plain and pilau. Service was superb, staff...

Nice clean place, good seating places inside, curries are nice and tasty, four stars due to portions sizes with the prices otherwise could have give 5 stars, parking on main busy road or side streets.
