Lovely lovely place and Ali really looked after us, Chicken korma was beautiful and staff were very lovely. Mum had a chicken bhuna which was equally as nice

I ate alone as had just finished work on a Saturday. Firstly the positives: I had a tasty Lamb Rogan Josh, with freshly prepared rice & a light Nan bread. The pops & dips we’re good although I would have liked some chopped onions. The draught kingfisher was also v good. The only negative is they do not offer a discount off the menu prices for collecting a take away. Their competitors do offer min 10% off if you collect. I found the staff friendly and attentive.

The service and hospitality we received at Madhu's was incredible. The waitress recommended some amazing dishes that we all loved. They threw in an extra lamb chop just so we'd all have one each, which was so thoughtful. The most important part, is that the food was so incredible. I have eaten at a LOT of Indian restaurants, and even Dishoom has nothing on Madhu's when it comes to flavours. Every single dish we ordered was a distinctly different flavour, and so well cooked. No single dish disappointed us, and we were raving about the meal weeks later! I highly recommend the Palak Patta chaat, the garlic prawns, lamb chops and the butter chicken! Stop thinking and book a table, they even do 20% discount on certain days - you won't be disappointed!

Visited 1971 for a family meal last week. First of all when you walk into the restaurant my reaction was WOW it is beautifully decorated and just has a real wow factor as a restaurant. The staff are just so friendly and attentive and then comes the food and again another WOW, honestly it was just such beautiful food even my 5 years was scraping her plate. Cannot wait to return to 1971 you are doing amazing guys. Will be telling all my friends about you. Lisa

Decided to visit this Indian restaurant from looking on google & we were not disappointed! Raj in particular was very friendly & accomodating, recommended a great lamb dish for my partner & helped me with a special cheese naan. The food was very tasty & well presented. We will definitely come back.

We arrived at the booked time and were seated together on a table for six. So far so good. The waiter took his time to ask us whether we wanted poppadoms or not even though this was a Tuesday evening and the restarant was not particularly busy. He took our food order at the sane time. The menu was interesting with quite a few meals we had not heard of before (we go for a curry maybe every 6 weeks usually to different curry houses around Huddersfield). The waiter was businesslike and not particularly welcoming or interactive. The meal was nice apart from the having to wait quite a while between each course. At the end of the meal came the killer blow. £126. For 6 of us that's a pretty good price. We were 'well pleased' and got our payment cards out, deciding on a sum of £23 each in order to leave a decent tip, after all the meal was good. The water brought the card machine over and then declared 'only 3 cards per table'. When I had booked this meal the week before, I was told the restaurant would accept cash or card. This was a new rule that completely stumped us. We were amazed. The surly waiter simply stared at us repeating the statement. 'Management rules '. We scraped together £69 in cash and 3 of us had to use cards. The machine then wouldn't accept their payments unless they stood in a particular spot at the back of the restaurant. The experience was frustrating and shattered the relaxed atmosphere of our 'get together'. We will not return.
