Asha was recommended to me so decided to give it a try. And wow it certainly didn't disappoint. The menu was easily downloaded we selected a variety of dishes and gave them a call to organise a collection. From speaking to the person who took our order to the collection of food you couldn't ask for more. The restaurant was clean and very welcoming and staff were polite. And as for the food, amazing flavours, loads of food and we had left overs. They offer eat in and take away and give a discount of 15% on take outs which I've not seen before. I will definitely order again and recommend to others.

Having lived in Ashurst for 14 years, we have always used Asha for our Indian Cuisine and it has always been good, very friendly staff, clean and tidy restaurant, and the food, very good quality. Tonight we decided last minute to get a takeaway as we had not been for a while and the food tonight was just amazing, how you can improve on perfection already I don’t know, but everything tonight was top notch, complimentary poppadoms and dips for starters, my wife had a madras with boiled rice, and I had a chicken Ceylon with coconut rice, Peshwari Naan on the side was just lovely. All in all a great quality meal cooked to perfection, Thankyou so much, look forward to our next visit.

Yes, I have given Asha five stars before and will do so again. The whole team deserve an award for consistently high quality food. When we last visited on the 29th September (payday) it was really busy but despite being one server short, large groups of 10 & 12 were served together and in a timely fashion - not easy. I had the Dan Special (superb), my Wife the chicken tikka bhuna balti (superb). If you're in the area, pop in. If you're not in the area, pop Asha on your 'to visit' list..!

We’ve been here a couple of times with friends and now use it as I preferred takeaway even though we have to collect and rive past 2 other Indian restaurants on the way. The food is simply sublime, they’ve got the flavours down to a tee and the meat is cooked to perfection. We’ve all been to sub standard Indian restaurants and we’ve all put up with ‘average’ as it’s on the doorstep. It’s worth making the extra effort to go somewhere that is just good honest food. The service is also impeccable, the owner, Zillur, runs a tight ship and all of his staff reflect the hard work he has put in. When picking up a takeaway you nearly always end up with a fresh pint of cobra and having a chat to the staff.

Visited on an early Tuesday evening, our usual Indian restaurant was closed so we ventured up to Ashurst, lovely food and service and it was nice to see an independent busy on a week night

We are returning customers. The food here is exceptional, always cooked fresh and consistent! The host Jillur is always pleasant and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant!

We first tried a takeaway of chicken Rogan Josh on the way to our home in Bashley and a Chicken Tikka Massala plus Saag Aloo and a Garlic Naan Bread plus mushroom pilau rice. Very generous portions of chicken unlike some restaurants. Fragrant delicious rice. All great quality. Enough left for lunch the next day. The guys generously added two complimentary poppadoms and two small tubs of chutney/ turmeric flavoured yoghurt. We then dined in week later on our way back to London. We chatted to some friendly local folk we said it was their Indian Restaurant of choice every Thursday. We repeated our order from the previous week. The chutneys with the poppadoms were extensive (5), generous and very tasty. The dishes were delicious. The guys serving and managing are very professional and have great rapport with their customers. I'd not visited for a couple of years but will now dine there whenever I am in the New Forest/ Southampton area. A 9.5/10. Also, I should mention the restaurant has a great ambience.

Jiilur makes this such a great dining experience. He is so welcoming, helpful with the menu, which has a great choice, for every palate. Ambience is great, and all staff follow Jiilurs’ lead, with their excellent service. The best Indian restaurant we have, ever, been to - and we will, most certainly, visit, again soon. A great evening, and dining experience - thank you.

Eat here every week and have to say it’s fabulous food and fantastic staff. Zillur the boss makes everybody feel welcome. Absolutely the best Indian restaurant around(in our opinion)..We sometimes come with family and they also love it. They travel from the other side of Southampton to eat here.

Really nice and well kept inside. Spotlessly clean. Really pleasant and attentive staff. During the time we were in there, the restaurant was full and the take-away service was busy, but the staff gave us excellent service and the food was really good. They obviously use good quality ingredients and have a chef who knows how to use them. All the favourites are on the menu, plus some house specialities. We ordered the Asha mixed starter to share, which was excellent, followed by korma and dansak with peshwari and plain naan. All perfectly done. They had some happy regular customers in - always a good sign. Visiting Asha was a great experience and I highly recommend it to you.

Really enjoyed the food, but very disappointed the waiter serving the food did not wear his mask! Had to ask for him to wear his mask while he served us. But then he reverted to not wearing it. Very disappointed. Spilt the evening.

Went to Asha whilst staying in Ashurst. Wow an absolutely amazing meal and service. What a gem of a restaurant. I rate this as one of the best meals I have had in a long time and great service as well, Would recommend without any hesitation.

We visited ASHA for our first meal since Lockdown ended and were extremely pleased we chose this amazing place. From the moment we walked in we knew it was going to be a great evening!! Greeted with a warm welcome on a busy Saturday night service was excellent from start to finish. As for the food it was brilliant - We tried their Specials; Chicken Jaljala and Dan Special in particular were delicious. We can't wait to visit again!

We visited the New Forest and ended up at Asha for dinner. We were looked after by the staff especially Jilluer who I presume is the owner, food was excellent and service top notch, will definitely be back when we visit the Forest in the summer.

This joint was recommended by the owners of an air b&b I was staying at and I ordered to collect.This was the first weekend after lockdown 2, so it seemed busy with dine-ins when I went to collect, but that's understandable and I didn't mind my food being a little late when I went to collect it - better fresh than sitting waiting, getting cold, right? The food was very tasty, well cooked, and well priced. Can't say any more than that!

Food is wonderful, service is good, clean and welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere is lovely. Parking is easy, seat is comfortable, social distance is obeyed Cater for well behaved children. Hand sensitiser is there on entry. Price is fair.

Staying in the area we booked this local Indian resturant.Well run establishment with owner knowing lots of his regular customers.Order taking promptly and food cooked and served promptly.Varied menu with lots of specials.Food was very tasty and enjoyable.We attended on Wednesday during the Eat Out promotion. The restaurant was very busy and the phone was constantly ringing. All orders whether in restaurant or for take away were all dealt with efficiently and promptly.Without no hesitation I would recommend this Indian restaurant.

Having had take away’s on several occasions we decided to visit. A good decision. A very full departure after an excellent meal out.

Our small party of six was well served on a busy evening at this restaurant. I enjoyed the Bangladeshi fish curry along with a range of the usual "Indian" items - popadoms, samosas. A convivial evening with new friends enhanced by tasty food and good, friendly service.

Outstanding once again! Can’t beat this place been absolutely fantastic last few visits thoroughly recommend.

My first visit: complimentary popadoms & a youghurt sauce- a nice gesture. Food provided in a branded ( Asha) plastic takeaway bag not a cheap plastic one- classy.Tarka Dhal - big flat slices of garlic in amongst the yellow lentil dhal , good consistency some star anise in there and coriander leaf-10/10Chicken Biriyani- side vegetable curry had a great flavour with a bias towards tomato , not oily at all unlike some other takeaways. Multi-coloured fragrant rice quite spicy -unusual- I liked it a great deal , lots of flavour, lots of big chicken pieces. Chicken very slightly dry but delicious overall, a 9/10 for the Biriyani.Really huge portion . Needed a walk afterwards in the country to walk it off!Very friendly service , seemed quite full & popular with many regular customers by the look of it: a very positive indication- a loyal clientele. I will visit it from now on after this first “ try” for takeaway on the way home.

Myself and husband visited the Asha, can’t rate it enough. The food was lovely, staff friendly and very efficient. Perfectly timed starter and main. We will definitely go back!

The food was tasty but not overly special, and was served both efficiently and politely. All was fine -but nothing to get a higher rating. £50 for two courses and one beer & water each.During the acceptably timed period while we awaited our starters, we noted that as young people, we used to eat out at a curry house fairly regularly, as did our peers. Apparently our peers are still doing this but has fallen out of fashion with the younger set -as there was probably only one table with folks the right side of 30.

It’s true to say that many of my family and friends frequently visit this fantastic Indian Restaurant on the edge of the New Forest, And for one very good reason , it’s simply the Best one around in my opinion, friendly staff, comfortable seating in a modern setting and of course fantastic Indian / Bangladeshi food all makes for a fabulous eveningYou must try The Goan king prawn curry, for those who like it a little hotter, what a sensational dish Thanks to all at Asha, you’ve got my vote 10/10

Clean, tidy restaurant and friendly helpful staff. The food was decidedly below average. Had Goan King Prawns....came with nondescript sauce, with lots of green chillies, but no balancing spices....just chilli hot, the chapatis were dry, and the aubergines were very greasy. Very poor cooking....bland Indian food shouldn't be a thing, but here IT IS. I will not use again.

This is my second review of a restaurant I have been enjoying for 10 years! My Indian family are the best, the restaurant is always immaculately setup and chefs pay as much attention to detail as the layout. It’s like home.... and my daughter loves it! I can only recommend the Asha, the staff and the chefs. Thank you gents and well done :-)

The title says it all really. Nothing is too much trouble (even if it's not on the menu), service is fab with drinks coming without even being asked for and the food is always sublime. Staff are always able to recommend dishes and cannot do enough for you and the restaurant is well presented as is the food. Well worth a visit!

Ordered a chicken Korai with boiled rice. One of my favourite Indian dishes and quite a simple dish. Usually my first choice in any Indian restaurant whilst staying away from home.

We have been going to this restaurant for many years and can honestly say it never fails to disappoint. The food is excellent and the service is next to none. Highly recommend the chef specials Chicken Jaljala and Tamarind Lamb.

We ate here with the family and had a lovely time. The food was excellent, full of flavour and textures. The staff were really helpful and polite. A really excellent meal, we will definitely be back.

visited twice in August and both times a very enjoyable meal. If you like spicey food go for the strongest as both times they were relatively mild, even on the second being a medium setting. All in all a very enjoyable take away on both occasions and the eat in looks to be well run.

It's taken over 4 years, but at last we have found a great takeaway. Hot tasty food, crisp poppadoms great sauces and everything properly seasoned and spiced. Service top class too. Will try eating in next time, probably after the school holidays are over.

My wife and I visited Asha on a Friday evening in August and were not disappointed. The dishes were exemplary and of extraordinary value. If you want something different to a pub meal then Asha is for you if you’re staying in Ashurst.

Found this restaurant while holidaying in the new forest. Food was good. I had lamb birani, slightly over cooked lamb but still very tasty. Nice touch giving out chocolate when you pay the bill.

What a lovely restaurant. Modern, contemporary looks, comfy seating and a reasonably priced menu are only bettered by the food. Fabulously fresh and delicious... They do takeaways too (naturally). Well worth a visit.

This is a nice british indian style restaurant with a wide chice of meals. Staff were very friendly and service was prompt.

Once again a return visit to the Asha & once again, the food, service & atmosphere was first class.

We popped in late on a Thursday evening, as our hotel recommended it. The restaurant was fairly quiet but they were still serving at 9pm. The service was efficient and friendly. The food is good, well cooked and good sized portions.

This was my first visit to Asha even though I have lived here all my life, it will definitely not be my last! The food was the best I have ever tasted and the waiters soooo friendly.

A hit everytime! No matter how quiet or busy the night is the service is always great and the food even better! I could happily work my way through the menu every visit and they are always willing to adapt the spice for me! Lovely atmosphere and always welcoming! Having read other reviews I can agree with those who love the food but think some (negative ones) have maybe gone to a different restaurant!?!?!? as we have never experienced poor service or poor food!

OK - I have been coming here with our family for many years now and not done a Trip Advisor, sorry! As a weekly favourite we love the place... the staff are always attentive and very welcoming (actually like family to us!), the food is always of a very high standard and the restaurant is relaxed, inviting and immaculately set out.

Went to this restaurant to celebrate my daughter passing her driving test but had an awful time, in fact couldn't wait to get out of here.

We are local to the area and have been visiting Asha for the last 3 years. The service is second to none and the food is exceptional and consistent. We always feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. They are great with kids. If you want a great meal with excellent service then this is definitely the place to go!

Visited as staying in nearby campsite. Have been before but was not over impressed but was recomnended so we tried again. Very pleased we did as feel the food quality had greatly improved and had a very pleasant evening. Service good and staff polite and helpful.

First time for me..friends been going regularly..was pleasantly surprised..staff very friendly..good atmosphere..food was really good with a wide choice of dishes..we ended up sharing so can't remember what I had..but I do remember the coconut rice..not had it before..was really good and well cooked..all in all an excellent evening

Brilliant Indian that was recommended to us on the edge of the Forest. Nice staff , spotlessly clean and great food. The onion bargee's were especially lovely and all the sauces were light and tasty. Great portions and good value. Excellent!

Not your typical Indian restaurant, this one is far better. Food full of taste and not overpowering. Service excellent and a brilliant evening had by all of us.
