Love this place, the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful they have a lot of knowledge about their food. The food is delicious we have worked our way through the menu but our favourite is Kochi 😋we have never had a bad meal and never had to complain about anything. We enjoy a chat and a laugh with all the staff great bunch.

Just been to Saffron lounge this early evening with my wife. We've not been since it reopened in the town centre. The food was excellent, very tender chicken and lamb. The service was very attentive and the portions very generous. We've brought home a take out bag with what we couldn't eat, lunch sorted for tomorrow. All in all excellent, give it a try.

Quite simply the best Indian in Worksop and the surrounding area. We order from here every week, and it never disappoints. The quality of the food is top-notch, the service is first class when you dine in and the restaurant is clean and nicely laid out. Highly recommended.

We thought we would try this restaurant as we both like Indian cuisine. We were not disappointed. I’m only starting to get my taste buds back after cancer treatment this time last year. I had shashlick Buna and it was really tasty and my wife had the ponir shashlick which was just like what we had in India. The bhindi bhaji was perfect to. The staff were very friendly and overall a very enjoyable experience

Welcoming When We Arrived. Traditional Indian Staff Attentive. Good Start To Evening Menu Was Clear and Showed Specials Menu Choice Was Good. Thumbs Up If Food Up To Standard Indian Tradition. Did Not Disappoint

My son, his family and I went there this evening (2nd March). My grandson is Non-Verbal autistic so if he is upset or wants something he screams. He was hungry, but we were VERY RUDILY asked if his behaviour would continue. We explained that he has autism but no service or any help to resolve this wasn't forthcoming. In the end, out of sheer embarrassment we left, which left my granddaughter confused and upset. We phoned and complained about the member of staff's attitude but got no resolution. If you have persons with difficulties avoid this restaurant!

This restaurant was just lovely! The food was extremely fresh and tasty; the service was excellent; the overall vibe and decor was chilled, clean and pleasant. Would definitely return!

Order most Fridays but tonight had half cooked fries, pale,cold and tasting of oil. Usually hot and fresh.

30 minutes late, had been waiting 90 minutes, rang the restaurant, the manager passed me to another staff member, he was abrupt, patronising and rejected anything to do with our order stating 'We are busy, love, it's with the driver'. I'll be going to your competitor, in future.

Visited Saturday evening with work colleagues. 2nd visit to the Saffron Lounge and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic Indian Food. Poppadoms with pickle tray to start as an appetiser Sheek Kebab starter which was tasty Delicious Chicken Tikka Pathiala with Pilau Rice. This restaurant is a must when in Worksop. Look forward to next visit

Had a lovely evening in this restaurant to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday. We decided to give Saffron a try for a group booking of work colleagues and we where very impressed! The restaurant interior is very modern and tidy. The food was excellent and the service was top class. Will definitely be returning.

This place is fantastic, we visit every two weeks for a brilliant meal, drinks and a general catch up with friends. The atmosphere is great, staff are outstanding, I couldn’t recommend a better curry house within the Nottinghamshire region. The place feels like home - we are welcomed as soon as we hit the door and every request is met with a smile. I live over 25 miles away, but still come back to this place regularly, I can’t recommend this place enough.

Come here every other week with the curry guys. Never had a bad meal, excellent customer service and atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend enough. Will be back in 14 days.

Well, I simply don't know where to start here. The best place to start would be the sign above the door - Saffron. Saffron is derived from the flower of crocus and is known to be a very elegant and expensive spice. (Currently around £3,700 per kg). Sadly, the front door is where the elegance ended. Myself and eleven friends visited to have a long awaited catch-up, and also we were celebrating not one, but two special birthdays. Welcome & Seating This was mostly pleasant. Their eyes lit up when they saw the 12 of us, the Cobra pump was immediately fired up. The Cobra was £4.95 per 568ml. I was perplexed by this. Why not just charge £5.00? All those extra 5ps change the Royal Mint have had to produce. Needlessly, I might add. Order Taking As per usual, the waiter comes over and takes the order for the starters. A lot of us obliged and ordered a range of different appetisers. At this time, none of us had any intention of ordering poppadoms. When all the starter orders were taken, myself and my friend sat immediately to my left were looked at like aliens for not ordering one. It then got worse. The restaurant had clearly assumed (never assume - it makes an ASS out of U and ME) that we would be ordering poppadoms. The waiter basically begged us to order some. Being the polite gentleman we are, we duly obliged. Approximately 0.03 seconds later 13 poppadoms (you always get one extra) were on the table. What a coincidence....... It was whilst we were eating the cold poppadoms, that things started turning a little sour. Several of the waiters were gesticulating for us to be quiet. I won't use the word perplexed again, but I was flabbergasted at this accusation. A group of us were actually having a discussion about air fryers. Surprisingly, all of us were using different makes/models but each of us doing our bit for the environment. Main Meal We all sat in excitement, waiting for the curried meals to be delivered to the table. Again, a couple of murmours of noise were raised - again, completely unwarranted. The meals arrived on the little trolleys, and the excitement coming from our table was now boiling over. Again, noise rumours ruined it a little. But with the food arriving, everything looked to be back on track. I was wrong. I had asked for a Chicken (sorry vegans) Balti - Vindaloo hot. The waiter had clearly not heard me say 'Vindaloo Hot' easily missed I guess..... My curry ended up being something my kids could have eaten. Not what I visited for. I didn't hear too many complaints from the other lads about the food, but it's the finer details that will separate you from other Indian Cuisines, and this time you failed. WCs I would estimate the capacity of this restaurant to be around 50-60. Both male and female (no non binary offering) toilets were single locked entry. What is that all about? Even just us 12 found ourselves having to queue and wait for another friend to dispense urine. Unacceptable. Bill By this time, we were ready for the bill coming. Obviously, there was no anticipation in sight, so we had to ask for it. This is where the financial carnage began. This was no fault of the restaurant by the way. 12 grown men struggling to divide £230 by 12 minus the deposit was quite frankly embarrassing. WE will learn from this. I just hope the restaurant can learn from the points raised above. Summary 1. If you are a group of more than two, don't bother. You will be too noisy for these guys. 2. Don't have a drink unless you want to wait 15 minutes for the toilet. 3. Waiters - Please smile. 4. If you like it hot, don't bother

Brought our custom here due to poor service at Jhinook and so glad we did. Excellent customer service, quick delivery, excellent food and better value for money. Plus they answer the phone promptly and accept card payments.

Amazing food as always. This time we had the lamb jalfrezi, chicken tikka chana pallak, veg rice, bhindi baji & garlic naan. Also recommend the fish pakora & monkfish armchur from a previous visit. Pistachio kulfi & coffee is always a winner to finish a perfect meal. Great hospitality as always. Well recommended.

What can I say? Absolutely excellent food, fantastic customer service. A comfortable restaurant, quick service, helpful hints and tips to dishes you might not ordinarily try. A fantastic flavour world which keeps on giving time and time again, we keep going back because the food and people are wonderful. I cannot recommend Saffron Lounge kn Worksop enough.

We’ve been using this company for probably 20 years. My good lady really fancied a takeaway after the new year, so we ordered in. New website is slick and quick to use, contact and communication great, as always. We have also eaten in the new location, very smart and contemporary and the manager, Hussain, is a delight to deal with. Staff and service always to a high standard. Food tastes are subjective and many will prefer other similar restaurants in Worksop. We’ve tried them too, but we always come back here. Anyway, our takeaway arrived on time, smashing polite delivery man and the food, as ever, was mouth watering good. Thanks to Hussain and all the staff, keep up the good work.

We went in our bubble on the Tuesday before lockdown.They’re very organised on the COVID,with movable Perspex screens etc.Third time been to the new restaurant which is really well fitted out,very contemporary.This restaurant is in a lot better place,unfortunately due to COVID the footfall that should be there isn’t!We were greedy and had poppodums,starters and mains.We all had different dishes and really enjoyed all of them,only my wife had traditional Korma but she has only eaten that for 35 years!The others had saffron special and the chickpea and spinach one.All were fantastic and you could really savour the flavours.The staff are really friendly and efficient,don’t have to wait for a beer or anything.Having eaten in other local Indian restaurants,this really is the best!Try and enjoy,you won’t regret it

I've been going to the Saffron Lounge since it first opened its doors on Carlton Road. I've never had a bad meal. The food is amazing, as is the service. The staff are always polite and courteous. Liking the new premises - spotless. Looking forward to going back again.

First visit post Covid to new restaurant, it is spacious spotlessly clean plenty of hand gel and a track and trace form to complete. The food was delicious loads of choice on menu. Definitely recommend the onion Bhaji starter and the various balti dishes. The staff can’t do enough for you,very attentive and friendly! We will be back soon

As we are unable to visit the Saffron Lounge Indian Restaurant at Worksop during the COVID 19 Pandemic, we ordered a takeaway. We would highly recommend this order and delivery service. The meal was 1st rate and we will certainly recommend them to friends and family.

Visit the restaurant regularly which is A++ Decided to order takeaway which cost over £60+ , VERY DISAPPOINTING, poppadoms stale, chips like dried cardboard, plastic tubs only half full and took over 2 hrs to deliver which needed reheating, very disappointing

This was our first visit to the Saffron lounge, The service was great as well as the staff.we were shown to our table by a very pleasant member of staff and took our drinks order, we has a tandoori mixed grill that comes with a curry sauce and we also ordered a garlic Nan the food was very tasty and hot and the curry sauce was delicious.we found the diet coke was expensive for a small bottle but overall good value

We have eaten here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Sadly on our last visit our opinion was very much changed . My starter was dripping in oil and inedible . The main course was cold despite supposedly being a sizzler . The prawns were over cooked and chewy like rubber . The restaurant wasn’t busy so no excuses for cold food really .

Been going ever sinice I was a baby. Ordered a tandoori mixed grill that comes with a curry sauce. Politely asked to swap that curry sauce for a small portion of rice and they wouldn't respect my request. Got charged for the rice and ended up with no curry sauce as a consequence of my request. They're all about profit. Count your bill because they hidden charges despite the earlier requests and ended up paying £7 more which was unexplained. Never again and time to move on after a lifetime enjoying their service.

Been a loyal customer 20 yrs plus. Spent more money and hours here than anywhere. Back for a piece of nostalgic enjoyment.asked politely for a change of a side dish but was refused saying it came as a package on menu.drinks overpriced.got charged for the change of dish but never got it. Bill not itemised just a total so we realised later we were overcharged. Empty restaurant with just us in. Back in the day it was packed, now I know why..sad to say but time moves on and so will we.. bye bye ..

We visited as a family, the food was very tasty and the service excellent. This has to be my new favourite local curry house.

Ate here last night. The food was good quality, was full of taste and served hot. We had three courses each, wine and a few spirits. £73 all in. The bill was 50% alcohol so can’t complain. It was dead the so the ambience I would have expected from a Indian restaurant just wasn’t there. All in all though I would go back :)

Eat here regularly, food is always delicious, service extremely friendly and professional. Recently tried Jhinook and the food wasn't in the same league. Lots of interesting choices on the menu as well as the standard dishes, I've tried many different dishes and never been disappointed.

I ordered a lamb biriyani for collection and it was ready on time, I got home and they had actually given me a lamb tikka biriyani which I didn’t want and to use the word lamb is generous, the grains of rice were the same size as the meat!!!! The sauce was greasy and the naan dry and not nice. Won’t order a take away here again yet have eaten in the restaurant before and it was lovely. Shame. Felt let down

We decided to get a takeaway from here after seeing all the good reviews. We decided to pick it up because of some of the reviews about long delays. The food was ready within 30 minutes and when my partner arrived back it was all still hot (We are only 7 mins away) I had chicken tikka masala and my partner had a lamb dupiaza. We had a pickle tray with poppudums, I had bahjis and he had a chicken chat. Although the food was ok it wasn't anything special and certainly not 5 star. My tikka was quite tasteless apart from very coconutty (which is what you would expect from a korma) it was also very red. The chicken did look like it had been cooked as a tikka though with skewer holes and it was tender. My bahjis were quite rubbery and the pickles were runny (including the chutney). My partners chicken chat was quite nice but he said the dupiaza was just ok. I have had better microwave curries as far as taste goes but as I said previously it was otherwise hot and well cooked.

Called in without booking on a busy Saturday night and was seated with no problems can only say the food is some of the best Indian we have ever had, I usually have Chicken Naga but fancied a change the waiter suggested Chicken Desi Jalfry it is cooked similarly to Jalfrezi but with a touch of mint and it was absolutely superb. We could not fault the food and service at all, first class and thank you see again you soon !!!

Ive just started working next door but one from here and i keep smelling it so thought id give it a try so we travelled from chesterfield 30 mile round trip and so glad we did. The staff are very friendly. The beer tasted so nice and the food was excellent and portion sizes was very good. The chicken was so tender. All dishes was very tasty and nice. The decor is nice.Over all a very nice evening and we will return.

Have been coming to the Saffron Lounge for years and always enjoy the food we have. Whether it’s with a party of friends or just as a couple. Love how accessible it is as well for people with waking difficulties.

We order takeaway from here just about every week and have never had a problem with the food it’s always first class, however they have recently revamped their menu pricing structure including deals on takeaway and delivery. They have dropped the discount on collection takeaways from 15% to 10% as well as increasing the price of each dish on the menu, the free popadoms for orders over £20 has been replaced by a free bottle of pop, just can’t understand the logic in that one at all. Our usual order of 2 mains, 2 starters, rice and naan bread has increased from £23 to over £28 for collection and over £30 for delivery which I think is just downright extornanate for a takeaway. I mentioned this to a member of staff on my most recent collection and he just said “oh it’s since the new menu” then dismissed me and turned to serve another customer which I think was completely out of order given how frequently we order and the money we spend here. Unfortunately we won’t be ordering from here as often in future which is a shame as the food is good but we can get just as good from Worksop Spice or Jhinook at a much cheaper price.

Me and my wife have eaten here a number of times now and each time it’s been great. Pick of our meals have been the prawn sizzler starter and the king prawn balti main with Kashmir rice. Great location near to centre as well so can pop into town for a few drinks afterwards.

Unfortunately worksop is blessed with superb Indian cuisine. Our usual haunt was fully booked but we needed a fix...so glad we chose the lounge.The decor is lovely the staff attentive and the food a delight.not disappointed at all...will call back again...well done to all at the Saffron

Visited tonight as a group of 4 and could not fault the food or service. Everything was perfect and I can't recommend this place highly enough, it is by a country mile the best in Worksop dont waste your time or money anywhere else just come here you will not be disappointed.

Lo único comida para llevar el curry arroz grasosa y viscoso! Nan en seco, en general no es bueno y no muy caro su orden nuevo ya no era la primera vez comidas no eran buenas.

Mejor comida india que he probado! No vayas a ningún otro sitio. Siempre el personal amable y la comida y bebida, no es demasiado caro. Solemos ir al azafrán semanal cada domingo, y no había tenido una mala comida!

My hotel is the other side of town but it's worth the walk across to have a very tastier piping hot meal, price is average but the the taste is the brill. The staff always helpful but not in your face also.

we visited here with a group of friends one evening. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The menus offered plenty of choice with dietary information clearly marked so that any embarrassment could be avoided in having ask (Always a bonus, no one likes drawing attention to themselves).I was very impressed and surprised by the quality of the food. It was fresh and light, very enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

Visited Saturday about 8pm.It was very busy and we had to wait for our table which we had booked. However the wait was worth it. The food was excellent. I hadn't been for some months and the food has improved enormously. Everything freshly cooked and very tasty. Excellent value for money

Group of 6 from work. Poppadoms to start accompanied by an excellent pickle tray. All the food ordered looked good. We also use this restaurant for takeways which are as good as dine in.

5 of us went out for birthday meal. Were waited on all night and looked after really well. Food was excellent as always staff always friendly and polite.

Not from the area(truck driver). Found this place online, their online ordering was easy and straightforward, paid by PayPal, and delivered to where I was parked. Brilliant.Food was simply delicious. Mixed starter, the lamb tikka in that was the best I've tasted. Also got sweet chilli balti. Never came across this dish before, tried it, I was not disappointed. Delicious. Will have to ask my local Indian if they can do that. Nann bread and poppadum where good. Felt I got good value for money. Would definitely use again if in the area.

The take away food has to be the best ever. Always arrives on time by pleasant drivers & piping hot. It's worth paying a bit extra for a take away meal from here. I have never had to complain once. Well worth it. I wouldn't order front any other Indian restaurant since I tried the Saffron Lounge. Thank you for excellent food every time I place an order.

Saturday night in October we went for a meal with family and friends at the Saffron Lounge in Worksop. As always the service was exceptional. The food was delivered to our table in good time and tasted delicious. We all had a great evening. Thanks again to the staff for another good one.

We had a takeaway and all the food was excellent. It was ready when they said it would be and I asked for something different to what was on the menu. It was very tasty and spicy. Will sit in next time in Worksop. Give it a try.

The food was OK, but I have been to many better Indian restaurants. The staff could be a bit more welcoming, there was no conversation with the rather sullen waiter, I felt as though I was a hindrance. (The chippy on the corner is MUCH better, way cheaper........ and happy to see you!!!)

We dine in here regularly and get a takeaway most weekends, it is without doubt the best in Worksop and surrounding area. The staff are very friendly and attentive and will alter dishes to your taste or even make a dish that is not on menu if you ask. Do yourself a favour avoid the rest and come straight here you will not be dissatisfied.

Although it has been a while since our last visit, and things may have changed, in December we were somewhat disappointed with our meals. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. However, we found that our curries had little meat but much sauce, which was disappointing, and the chips we ordered on the side were rubbish. Overall a little overpriced for what we actually received.

Iv been in this restaurant about 20 times . The staff will advice you on dishes plus change dishes if need be . On this Friday I called in with my wife about 9 pm the staff was so nice the service was 5 star from pulling out our chairs pouring the wine booking a taxi making feel special take your time sir . The meal was just as good as the service . Iv tried every Indian in Worksop over 30 years this is the best by far

There is nothing negative about this restaurant. Having eaten at various Indian restaurants over the years...this is the best yet. Last moment change of plans on Saturday night'forced' us to head into Worksop and seek out a meal. The family decided Curry was the weapon of choice and ive been to Saffron before so we decided to head there.A very warm greeting. Great smells coming from the kitchen and attentive staff made this a very pleasurable experiance. Food was served well and wasnt rushed. Staff engaging and as currys go it was really good. Im finiky about my onion bahjis but they really did impress. Even my picky daughter cleared the plate.Reasonably priced and fully enjoyed the evening. Will be back and gkad to submit this review.

I visited Saffron Lounge restaurant with a group of ten all couples. We had been celebrating my sister in laws birthday and decided to complete the evening with a meal here.We have over the years visited Saffron many times and have always had a superb meal. This night was no exception, we had poppadoms and pickles to share while we chose our meals. I had onion barghee starter and could be shared as you get two. They are the best I've ever tasted, being light and crispy followed by lamb tikka masala. My husband chose the chicken korma which is lovely and creamy. A side portion of pilau rice and peshwari nan completed the meal. Every part of the meal was delicious. The staff at the Saffron are very attentive without being over zealous and drinks are ordered and delivered to your table immediately. We have also ordered take away meals from the Saffron Lounge and find the quality is equal to the restaurant. Highly recommend a visit booking is advisable at busy times at the weekend. Although they will try to accommodate you without booking.
