The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

The service was good and staff friendly. The food was unfortunately not good. I agree with the recent review below. The food was a strange colour, tasteless and the chicken was chewey and dry. The sauces looked like they came from jars and the atmosphere was more like a cafe than restaurant and almost completely empty. It was the worst curry I have ever had. Regret having to write this before the staff were so nice.

Very Friendly service, good came fast and tasted great, Nemu was very talkative and made us feel very welcome. I’d recommend Gurkha 91 if you’re looking to have some curry in Bourne!

If you want typical English/Indian food don’t bother this is one of the best South Indian restaurants I’ve ever had,food amazing,staff fantastic,would highly recommend

I've been a fan of Mendi restaurant's samosas for several years (available in the shop/post office next to the restaurant) & was happy to learn that the restaurant has reopened for takeaways at long last, post - covid. I can't recommend the food highly enough. The Punjabi bhajjis were delicious, the Bombay potatoes were fantastic and the vegetable biryani was very tasty. Portions are very generous & all food on the menu is cooked freshly. It helps that parking is available & accessible to the rear of the premises.

Had takeaway lamb tikka masala - Food too red, too sweet not spicy, chewy meat. Disappointing, won’t return.

First time visiting. Tikka Masala was okay but some pieces of chicken was very hard and seemed old and reheated. Our other dish was suppose to have e a king prawn in but we couldn’t find it, mentioned it but the waiter said Yes it’s in there. Pleasant staff but not over impressed with dishes. Both suffered with indigestion throughout the night.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal here! The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was really delicious. We wish we had more days in penarth to go back

Food and service was first class. Take your own beer/wine etc.

Good good and good atmosphere. Had a lovely evening with my friends. Service was very good. We enjoyed spicy curries with naan.

I have to say for a restaurant that has been given a restaurant winners prize for 2024 . and a restaurant I’ve used many times before I feel there losing there personality .there was no feeling of being made welcome, the wait for food was long and the staff just seemed more pre occupied asking if you wanted drinks and taking take away order .The food was ok but nothing to justify being the most expensive India restaurant in Bridgnorth/ restaurant. Definitely won’t be returning again poor job guys

Never again Thought we would go after missing out last year On arriving dead on 8 we were told our table would not be ready till 830 This is exactly the same thing that happened last year They gave our vacant table to someone arriving on spec at 730 Just greedy by the manager Anyway we left and went elsewhere So you can not guarantee having a booked table waiting for you Sure we are not the only people this has happened to

Ady and his team delivered another brilliant meal for us last night - chicken madras, keema biriyani and a garlic naan - boom - plus a starter of king prawns - superb - thankyou to all the team who do a great job A loved it !!

Buena comida a un precio razonable para Shaftesbury Avenue. Platos muy sabrosos. El servicio fue muy eficiente y muy amable. Muy recomendable
