Absolutely fantastic food and very helpful, friendly service. I have a nut allergy and I am normally worried about Indian food but here is so safe. They listened to my concerns and served beautiful food. Highly recommend 👌 Muhammed the manager had a lovely chat before we left about the restaurant and his business. Also I should mention its bring your own alcohol restaurant which works for me 😊✌️

Absolutely delish! Prices are spot-on, too – not like they’re charging extra for the extra spice! 10/10, will inhale again.

I have used this restaurant/take away service many times in the past and had wonderful experiences. However this evening I have been totally shocked, let down and disappointed. At 6.30pm I ordered online delivery, was told that it "could be up to an hour". Bit surprised, but no problem, cos the food is so great. Many phone calls later --- during which "it will be 10 minutes", "sorry, we trying to locate the driver", "what address is this this?", "we can't contact the driver", "we're very busy" "its Saturday". Two hours later eventually gave up and had a couple of Tesco 'ready meals' in the freezer which e microwaved. Sadly, this on a evening following an exceptionally emotionally difficult day. Definitely would NOT now rely on a delivery from this place actually arriving. Such a shame, their loss, never again, plenty of other outlets in the area.

Ordered delivery, very expensive and was mostly sauce. But worst was the gripping stomach cramps within hours. Then checked hygeine rating TWO stars!!! Dreadful, and never again

Take away, rang them to order & explained last 2 times the meal had been Luke warm & no flavour, they said they would look after us & it would be "exceptional ' - it was the same again. Will now go elsewhere

Ordered delivery. The food arrived and was warm. That is the extent of any positive feedback. I thought I had covid because of how devoid of flavour everything was. Just sweet and oily The food just made me sad and confused.

Ordered a takeaway through just eat. The food was amazing. Ordered the tandoori chicken jalfrezi with onion rice and a tikka mossalla with onion pilau and a garlic naan. All the food was so fresh and tasty. The jalfrezi is the best curry I've ever had. Very pleasantly surprised. Give this place a go. Easy 5*.

Never again blamed road works for 2 hour delivery. I live 5 mins from place. And to blame road works is shocking. Theres road works on West road that takes 5 mins to get through. Chips cold, curry oily and tasteless and quite frankly disgusting. Tikka Garlic naan had no garlic rubbish and poppadoms were soft. So 35 quid well spent I'd say

Consistently delicious food. We’ve been using Rajnagar for years and after trying most of the Indian restaurants in Newcastle, the food here never disappoints. We usually choose to eat in the modest restaurant as the price difference is negligible compared with take away. And you can bring your own alcohol which saves a load of money too. The service is usually attentive and will try and accommodate any special requests.

Placed an order at 17.50 to be delivered at 19.15, got a message at 19.31 saying enjoy your food, the food hadn't arrived, rang the restaurant they said the driver couldn't find my address, food finally arrived at 19.48 and it was cold, won't use them again

I went to Rajnagar Bangladeshi kitchen today and found that the food is too good to miss. I can easily rate its food the best Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi cuisine that you would have tried so far. I had ordered Mottor Paneer, Shag Paneer, 2 Naans and Veg Pulao. I just loved every single dish that I had here and relished the food to it's fullest. On top of that the total price that I paid for this dinner, which was more than enough for 2 people, was 27 pounds. I don't think any other restaurants would serve you such good food and that too at such a low price. Couldn't recommend it more!!!

Ordered for delivery was 30 minutes late. Onion bhajis were burnt and cold. Tandoori lamb chops really??? Over cooked no char cold and the sauce was grainy and oily am sure it was just a patak sauce. Even the poppadoms were soft and oily. Best thing I ate was the nut pilau most of it went on the bin. Will not be back

Great food and excellent service. I had the Thali and my son had the Chicken Tikka Masala, so much food that we could have probably shared the Thali as it had Chicken Tikka Masala as one of the dishes. Highly recommended.

Ordered a takeaway from here last night (first time). I found the food to be of the highest quality. Every dish was amazing and very tasty. Can’t wait to order again and try some of there other dishes. Delivery didn’t take long, especially for a Friday night and poor weather conditions. Prices were reasonable, same as all other takeaways in the area. Highly recommended.

Just started ordering from here again after a few years away just got to say my curry tonight was absolutely georgus the garlic nan was to die for soooo garlicky well done probably the best curry I have had will definitely be coming back don't skimp.on the garlic like other restaurants do well done.

This local restaurant provides excellent food at reasonable prices. It’s a bring your own alcoholic drinks which keeps prices down and no corkage is charged. Excellent and polite service with a family feel. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. Go and support your local eatery.

A bit late coming, but absolutely delicious.

The best Indian food I’ve had in a very long time. I often get takeaways and they are always spot on. We went for a birthday celebration and I have to say Mohon was fab. He even took our photos. We had lovely starters the prawn on puri was massive. The chicken chatt was lovely as were the bhajis we had lots of different main courses and Mohon recommended for me the rajnagar lamb omg he choose well everyone loved it it was perfect. You take your own beer wine. Faultless food lovely staff open 7 days a week.

Been there before but never sat in had a delivery the tow curry's where just right and the veg pilu and nan but the chiken chat puri and chips coudnt t even eat it the chat was full off burnt bits the chips where burnt puri was solid and not cooked properly disappointed could only enjoy some off my meal and not all off it

Always come here for an Indian take away. The food is nice 9 times out of 10. The spicy chips are really nice too, and home cooked. Plenty of options on the menu. We usually use uber eats and it's often on discount there.

Simply excellent, very attentive staff who didn't mind having a chat while waiting for our next course. The food was excellent and I was very surprised with the bill at the end of the night, very reasonably priced for the amount we had eaten. We will definitely be returning very soon.

Ordered at 0815 took my money was given delivery time of less than 1 hour after 4 phone calls knock on door 10:13 had to send back freezing cold absolutely disgusting rang shop at 21:30 and was told 5 to 10 mins because really busy has already left shop he must have delivered to Berwick before he brought ours will never use again I was polite and understand that there was a match today so expected some delay but to have phone put down then not told the truth isn't good enough

Good traditional dishes. Unpretentious and nice food. Won’t revolutionise the way you look at Bengal food - but still a very nice curry with different flavours to other types of curries.

Ordered delivery first time..food turned up late and only half the order came..rang up and they said they would ring the driver as they should of been 2 bags...waited 20 minutes had to phone back up to see where it was .5 minutes later he turns up with the rest of it..no apologies..food was obviously stone cold my salad was warmer then the curry....however once warmed up (which I hate doing) the food tastes nice...but don't think I will be ordering a delivery again

Too much use of cabbage instead of onion.Menu states rogan josh topped by sautéed onion.They were non existent.Takeaway was full of floating grease. Minute chopped veggies.Very reminiscent of frozen veggies. Nan bread very dry.Little taste of garlic and coriander non existent. Deeply disappointing at a time of financial prudence. Won’t be visit or purchasing anything again. Phoned to give feedback.

It's a shame as I was saying to a friend how much better the Rajnagar was apposed to another take away, the Bindi near by. But our last meal was at best warm when we got it. Tonight's was the same just warm, covered in water from the condensation in the bag, the madras was poor compared to the past, not hot interms of spice and the prawn cocktail usually has lettuce in it, it also tasted odd, it went in the bin. Businesses are begging for customers so you should be giving 110%. Sadly tonight's will be the last meal from here. Time to try somewhere else.

Had a Just Eat delivery again tonight.. arrived on time and piping hot! I got Aam Tikka Podina, tikka pieces in a lime mango sorta tandoori sauce.. was lovely with the bread dipped in it. Also had the meat samosas which were absolutely beautiful, would highly recomend!! As for the tandoori mixed grill main.. i would give it a 2 out of 5 because everything was absolutely caked in tandoori sauce and i could hardly tell the difference what meat was what in reguards to flavour 😪 bit of a let down tbh but as ive said them meat samosas were tasty! 👌😁👍

I ordered the Tandoori grill and it arrived in an oily bag stuffed full of partially cooked onions and loads of grease. One Tandoori king prawn in the bag. Generally just a sad looking dish by design and not what one expects from a tandoor

Went to the Ragnagar last night and had a lovely meal.Prawn cocktail starter was the best I have ever had and the chicken chat was so tasty main meal was chicken madras and vegetable pilau rice all food magnificent. Lovely friendly staff and a lovely restaurant.

Never had a bad meal great place to come for our lads curry night, really tasty this place never disapoints.

Hands down the best and consistent indians in the North East, best food, such a very very high standard every time, I can't fault this place and I eat Indian foon on a very regular basis, lamb tikka madras and lamb tikka biriani is out this world, staff are amazing and bend over backwards to help, 100% recommend, u won't be disappointed. 👌

Ordered take away... Tandoori chicken.. Food colour at maximum level.. And no taste at all.. Pulave rice not at all boiled.. I thought it was plastic rice. Chicken vindallooo.. No flavour of herbs or spices except hot chilli.. I was so disappointed.. I ordered this take away after a busy day and this turned out to be like this. I recommend mugul Raj begladesh restaurant in Ponteland.. Thats so good n cheaper.. Its from my experience.

The food is always spot on to be honest, it’s just they always miss Naans or Popadoms from the order Sometimes both. To be fair they always say they’ll send them out but who can be bothered to wait 30/40 mins For them to arrive while the rest of the food goes cold. If it was just the once then no worries but it’s happened 4/5 times but the food is that good I keep going back! 😂 Moral of the story, Collect it and don’t get it delivered!

Last time I had a lamb balti this good was on Brick Lane at THE Legendary Standard in 1992. London. Thank you guys for reminding me of the experience. A curry club guy turned me in your direction and I was not disappointed.

Ordered Takeaway online, arrived promptly and piping hot. As always food was fresh and tasty, delicious curries and lovely rice and nan breads. I think they’ve increased prices slightly during lockdown but when ordering online you get a discount. Fantastic takeaway and highly recommended.

Visited with friends, we all had starters & mains, all the meals were fantastic, probably the best curry house I’ve been to for a long time. Well worth a visit, it was very busy which says a lot.

Muy rara vez pruebo nuevos lugares para llevar, cuando lo hago, generalmente estoy decepcionado, no en esta ocasión,Ordeno chaat de pollo para comenzar, muy generoso siendo un entrante, estaba bueno, no aceitoso y sabroso,Para platos principales, pedimos el dansak de pollo, agradable y espeso, con mucho sabor, agridulce, para acompañar nuestra comida tenemos un pan naan peshwari, el pan fue uno de los mejores que he probado, ligero, crujiente y masticable, El arroz era pilau de cebolla, ligero y dulce, maravilloso, disfrutamos mucho de nuestra comida y sin duda volveremos.

Had heard good things about the Rajnagar so decided to get a takeaway for my sons 17th Lockdown Birthday. So pleased I did. Every dish was gorgeous. Fresh and Tasty and cooked to perfection. Great service too! I have a new fave Indian restaurant.

Got yet another absolutely delicious takeout meal from here tonight. The portions are huge, packed with meat and always piping hot. By far the best Indian restaurant/takeaway in the area and staff are lovely. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I’ve just been reading lots of reviews for Rajnagar on Trip Advisor and have to say I find it hard to believe the bad ones. We’ve eaten here with friends and family since it opened and without exception have never been disappointed. We now quite often ask for changes to dishes on the menu and the staff are always happy to help. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and even though they sometimes are training up young waiters, these new staff try hard to live up to Raj’s high standards. We recommend to many friends and always book if friends or family are visiting Newcastle. We LOVE it here!! ‍♀️ Rachel M from Fenham

Lovely relaxed place, excellent food and very well priced

We visited this restaurant and were a little disappointed, my two sisters eat here regularly and while the food was average to good the service was poor. Most people had their mains when we arrived so we ordered our food and the starters arrived reasonably quickly but we waited an age for the main course to arrive. At no time was the delay explained. They arrived eventually and again were average to good, the plates were cleared after a time and we had to ask twice for the bill. Overall the visit was disappointing.

Atentos, tomamos el pedido con bastante rapidez, nos avisaron que habría que esperar un poco ya que la cocina estaba excepcionalmente ocupada. Siendo el día de San Valentín, esperábamos eso y estamos felices de esperar, la gente mira mientras esperamos y bebimos un poco de vino.La comida era absolutamente perfecta, simplemente no podemos encontrar ningún defecto con nada aquí esta noche. Después de leer las críticas, estábamos ansiosos por nuestra comida desde aquí, pero toda la anticipación fue de corta duración. Optamos por una comida para llevar después de haber ido a la orden, me sorprendió lo agradable que era el lugar, luminoso, limpio, acogedor y el personal era muy buena gente. pero la comida no era la mejor si soy sincero sin sabor real, mezclado con ajo y por el dinero que pagamos (30+) nos quedamos decepcionados ya que dejamos la mitad. comida . Think se apegará a nuestro restaurante preferido de Shahe en Fawdon la próxima vez..

Had an amazing takeaway from here last night, safe to say it is without doubt the tastiest I've had in a long time, the portion sizes were huge and packed with meat, even my Wife, who can be picky about Indian food, was full of praise for the Chicken Pakoras and Spicy Chips. If you've never been to this place, I recommend you give it a try.
