Thought we would give this Takeaway another go wish we hadn'tChicken tikka starter hard and tiny portionI ordered Veg Mossala it was like pink dish water, frozen peas carrots and all hard cabbage with no taste at all Will definitely not be trying ever again

We ordered takeaway tonight (NYE) at 6pm and was quoted an hour to an hour and half for delivery, food arrived at 7.15pm . Food was hot and was tasted fantastic, great food and great service 10 out 10 from us

You can always tell when the Tandoori Chicken is prepared & cooked properly. Expertly prepared with care and spice. Top marks!!

Ordered Takeaway online, arrived promptly and piping hot. As always food was fresh and tasty, delicious curries and lovely rice and nan breads. I think they’ve increased prices slightly during lockdown but when ordering online you get a discount. Fantastic takeaway and highly recommended.

Visited with friends, we all had starters & mains, all the meals were fantastic, probably the best curry house I’ve been to for a long time. Well worth a visit, it was very busy which says a lot.

Just had chicken tikka wrap takeaway, my partner really wasnt sure as it was our first time here...it wont be the last. The food was delicious and we could have probably shared one as there was so much....definitely be back

Nuestra primera entrega a domicilio de una cena desde el reglamento Covid - 19. Visitamos el restaurante con bastante regularidad y siempre disfrutamos del ambiente y la calidad de la comida. Hicimos nuestras elecciones, hicimos nuestro pedido y solicitamos un 19. 30 entrega. Llegó puntualmente y la comida todavía estaba caliente a pesar de que había una distancia de entrega de 3 millas. El Bengali Fish Bhuna y Shatkora Lamb eran excelentes. Disfrutamos de nuestra cena de celebración.

Had heard good things about the Rajnagar so decided to get a takeaway for my sons 17th Lockdown Birthday. So pleased I did. Every dish was gorgeous. Fresh and Tasty and cooked to perfection. Great service too! I have a new fave Indian restaurant.

I’ve just been reading lots of reviews for Rajnagar on Trip Advisor and have to say I find it hard to believe the bad ones. We’ve eaten here with friends and family since it opened and without exception have never been disappointed. We now quite often ask for changes to dishes on the menu and the staff are always happy to help. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and even though they sometimes are training up young waiters, these new staff try hard to live up to Raj’s high standards. We recommend to many friends and always book if friends or family are visiting Newcastle. We LOVE it here!! ‍♀️ Rachel M from Fenham

We visited this restaurant and were a little disappointed, my two sisters eat here regularly and while the food was average to good the service was poor. Most people had their mains when we arrived so we ordered our food and the starters arrived reasonably quickly but we waited an age for the main course to arrive. At no time was the delay explained. They arrived eventually and again were average to good, the plates were cleared after a time and we had to ask twice for the bill. Overall the visit was disappointing.

Ocupado restaurante, pero el servicio fue tan bueno como de costumbre. Atentos, tomamos el pedido con bastante rapidez, nos avisaron que habría que esperar un poco ya que la cocina estaba excepcionalmente ocupada. Siendo el día de San Valentín, esperábamos eso y estamos felices de esperar, la gente mira mientras esperamos y bebimos un poco de vino.La comida era absolutamente perfecta, simplemente no podemos encontrar ningún defecto con nada aquí esta noche. Optamos por una comida para llevar después de haber ido a la orden, me sorprendió lo agradable que era el lugar, luminoso, limpio, acogedor y el personal era muy buena gente. pero la comida no era la mejor si soy sincero sin sabor real, mezclado con ajo y por el dinero que pagamos (30+) nos quedamos decepcionados ya que dejamos la mitad. comida . Think se apegará a nuestro restaurante preferido de Shahe en Fawdon la próxima vez..

Fui temprano para nuestro té. No hay muchos, así que no hay atmósfera ni calefacción.La comida y el servicio está bien, no tengo quejas.Lo mejor es que puedes tomar tu propio alcohol. Tomamos cerveza antes de nuestra comida y una botella de vino. No hay cargos por gafas o descorche.El lugar no es tan grande, así que es mejor reservar si no quieres ser decepcionado.

Popped in on spec with my cousin on a flying visit to Newcastle. To be honest I wasn't sure as the restaurant is not in a great location, but I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the interior was when we were shown to our table. Extensive menu with all the usual Indian dishes and some interesting specials. Lovely sizzling tandoori starter to share followed by lamb dansak for me and a delicious creamy prawn bhuna for the cuz. Very nice food, friendly and efficient service, tasteful decor. What's not to like??

Phoned for an order,went to collect was told a different price,went home my dad phoned to query the price staff said he was manager which i knew he was NOT finally spoke to someone stating he was the manager,became very abusive will NOT be going to this establishment ever again even though i live across the road!!!!!!!

i found out afterward that they serve halal meat without informing the customer i think its about time all restaurants tell us so, won't go back again

We visited this restaurant for the first time tonight and the food was excellent! I had prawn tikka massala, my finace had chicken tikka massala and we both asked for this to be made to a madras spice. The curries were out of this world! We also had mushroom pilau which was lovely and spicy chips which were gorgeous. We will certainly be regulars from now on!

Ate here on Saturday, it was really busy so a bit noisy but as always the food was outstanding. I wish they had a little bit more room.

My husband and I have been customers of Rajnagar since it opened, we love their cooking and the warm welcome we receive when we visit the restaurant. Having said this, we got a takeaway delivered to us at home on Tuesday night, and the chef had done wonders! We had the Lamb Saag, Sag Aloo and Chicken Bhuna; they were absolutely perfect even more delicious than usual. Fantastic!!

After being let down by another local Indian who accused us of non payment previously we decided to try this place.

What a lovely restaurant, food fab, service excellent, nothing a problem for staff. Bonus that you can take your own drink.

Having been before we were happy to book this for our silver wedding celebration. The service is excellent, really friendly staff. The food itself was very, very good. It is without a doubt one of the best Indian/Bangladesh I’ve ever been in. It will not disappoint.

Have been very busy with business reviews over the past few months but finally got the chance to visit the Rajnagar. My very critical side kick, alias my Grandson went with me & believe me it was well worth the wait. Visiting a good deal of the Indian style food in Leeds, Bradford & Birmingum areas it was a real treat to have a reasonably authentic meal here in Newcastle. I tend to stay clear of the description "Indian" as most of the restaurants in this country are owned by people of Bangladeshi or Pakistani origin.

Had my third meal delivered from this restaurant and what can i say other than it was perfect again the best i have ever had please keep it up as it makes my week. For anybody that has not tried this placed you are missing a treat

Not much to say here other than this place is great. The food is absolutely top notch, service attentive without being overbearing, reasonable prices and I really liked the understated feel of the restaurant, which sets itself out from its competitors as just a pleasant place to be. You just have to come here. It’s a gem off the beaten track which needs visiting.

I came here for a trip with friends, and was pleasantly surprised about the wide range of vegetarian dishes. I had the Aloo Chol and it was delicious, the saag paneer is amazing too! The staff are friendly (shout out to Abi) and the atmosphere is relaxing and warming. Would definitely recommend for the service alone, and definitely a must for vegetarians wanting more than the standard dish

Spent the night at my lads last night and he ordered a meal from here... I love Indian food and rate one on Sunderland as been my fave! But ever since I had this I will be returning the tikka masala was to die for and the keema rice was unreal along with the chapatis!! It was a taste of heaven !!

Really good food very impressed x had the meat thali and the chilli chicken naga fab really recommend it only thing I didn’t get was the menu ☹️My print off rubbish . But food really worth it only pic I’ve got is the leftovers but definitely visiting restaurant soon xx

Let's have an Indian takeaway we said. It’s been a couple of years as the last 5 takeaways we tried were utter rubbish I like a veggie madras,what I got in all of them was a 'fair' sauce with a tin of mixed veg.. so a word of warning to all you lovers of the balti...... they all have 'rave' reviews, takeaway of the year blah,blah.. our latest attempt on Silver lonnen (Advertising veggie food,okra,aubergine,mushrooms) man... right up my street, however in an apparent communication mix up ,what they actually meant was a tin of mixed veg.. My partner managed one forkfull of her chicken whatever......... on a lighter note the cat will eat anything and is currently ordering a garlic naan

im a regular to this restaurant and im never disappointed with the food and service also the takeaways are great only negative is they seem to have had a change of staff which aren't as friendly as the last staff but that wont put us off returning.

We went with two friends on a Saturday evening (wise to book - it's very popular). The food was outstanding and the service was wonderful. proper old fashioned Bangladeshi cooking. Delicious. We have been back twice since and each time it maintained the same very high standards.

Was recommended to try this restaurant and wasn’t disappointed. Excellent food and excellent service. Vast menu, lots of different dishes to the normal Indian menus. Definitely worth a visit. Good value as you take your own alcohol.

Arrived at 7:45pm, restaurant is compact, clean and small, with around 10 tables, so 40 covers.

Being new to Newcastle we chose this restaurant on the basis of tripadvisor rating. We ordered home delivery and the food we received was total waste of money with main dishes under cooked, naan as hard as papad and as a dessert we had ordered gulab jamun, the taste of which was so awful that it straightaway went to bin. We never throw food like this but this was one of the worst experience we had and being from Asia I know what a Indian/bangladeshi food tastes like. We were so disappointed with the food that I called back immediately to give our feedback which I did. Not getting food again from there and it is the lowest quality (tastewise) Indian food in our yardstick for future references now.

We visited with friends after we had heard great reviews of this place. The restaurant was very busy and there was a queue waiting for takeaway as well. The food that we had was lovely - in particular the chicken tikka was moist and tasty - and was very reasonably priced. However, we had a really long wait for food - we arrived at 8pm and by 9:45pm we had only had poppadoms and were still waiting for starters! We saw two other tables walk out because of this. The staff did offer us a discount on our bill which was appreciated but I think if we hadn’t visited with friends then we probably would have left too. I would get a takeaway from here in the future but probably wouldn’t sit in.

Terrible, waited one and half hours with nothing to eat . After seeing loads of takeaway leaving and no one in the restaurant getting served we decided to leave. Can't comment on the food as we got none . Plenty of management standing about with nothing going on. First and last time we will go there!!! Rubbish all round.

Worth a visit if you're in the vicinity of Fenham (it's a £10 taxi journey each way from the Quayside); Bright, modern decor. Bring Your Own beer/wine means a meal out is not too expensive (no 'corkage charge' was applied too). Good menu choices with a few meal choices probably specific to the chef. If I lived in Fenham I'd be a regular customer..

i went with a friend on Monday night for the first time to the rajnagar got to say it was the best indian food ive had the staff were brilliant and so helpful you can take your own drink which was a bonus it wont be long till I return first class food at reasonable prices

I love Indian food. My wife's not totally convinced. So I'm always careful where I take her as I know you can get some Indian food that is a disgrace to the Indian people and the Bagladeshi and Pakistani people. So I chose the Rajnagar Bangladeshi Kitchen and I was not disappointed. My wife loved it and that makes me one step closer to converting her to becoming a fan of Indian food. It was over a month ago now so I can't remember exactly what we ate. I just remember that all we consumed was absolutely delicious. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I think the bill came to about £25 all together which is about half of another Indian restaurant I visited more recently.

Absolutely the best meal Iv had in an Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant service is friendly and prompt without being intrusive every dish was perfectly presented and delicious

Went here with a group of 10 for my birthday, everyone had a really good time and great food. It’s bring your own alcohol so that obviously saves on the bill but it was really reasonable at around £130 for the table. We tried a variety of curries and the house specials which were all really good. Highly recommend!

Im becoming a regular to this place as it never disappoints the food is always amazing as is the service and you can take your own drink bonus!

In short: excellent service, great tastes, moderately priced. Would definitely go again. Original dishes as well as Indian classics; there is an off-license around the corner for buying beer and wine. Very contemporary look and feel. Highly recommended.

Parking an issue but once cracked and you are inside, prepare for a taste sensation. Bring your own drink. Result as no stitch up with crazy prices. Food has so much taste. Staff warm and friendly.

My first visit to Rajnagar (having been recommended by friends) and can honestly recommend the food. We decided to opt for a take-away meal but the seating area is tastefully decorated and well presented. The meals were extremely tasty and spicy and the chicken delicious. I enjoyed Punjabi chicken whilst my husband had Naga Tikka Chicken, which he enjoyed although he did say it could have been a little hotter.

What a gem of a place this is I have had Indian food from many places but never as good as here .The staff are all very friendly and helpful with the menu .you can bring your own drink and the food is Devine.

Second time of eating here (only because we we live in Kent and can only go here when visiting family in Newcastle) otherwise this place would see us in every week. The food is just wonderful and that coupled with excellent and friendly staff makes it a must visit place if you enjoy good quality Indian food. Ordered the King prawn jalfrezi with a garlic naan. Food came within forty minutes and was totally worth the wait. the king prawns had both the right balance of spice and flavour. The sauce was just rich in flavour as well. Definitely worth a try.

Been here a few times for sit in meals and everything was lovely, wouldnt recommend for a take away as the chicken tikka massala is not the same and it just wasnt as nice also the food was cold.

After all the hype and fantastic ratings decided to try after a very busy stressful day...placed the order by telephone was told wouldn't be long for delivery( 10min drive)...order arrived an HOUR later by taxi, odd we thought but as was very much looking forward to our meal starters chicken pakora not off to a good start absolutely freezing cold....o/h said apart from being cold they were good in flavour. I tried but didn't like as were cold, next main meal spicy chicken tikka masala with pilau and boiled rice...rice was freezing cold and when went to serve up the masala it was very watery, served if up any way....like the rest f the meal was freezing cold. Had to heat in the microwave to eat it not impressed no taste just veg and spicy hot no flavour etc, o/h ordered a keema naan again freezing cold.....1st and last time cannot understand how this place has such high ratings???

Another lovely visit to Rajnagar last night. We took our adult son for the first time. As ever, quick and friendly service, delicious food. The lamb in our (shared) lamb dhansak was lovely, lean and tender. We will be back, unsurprisingly. Many thanks again

Still not eaten here, but regularly call for takeaway. The restaurant is lovely and tge staff are friendly and welcoming. The food maybe slightly more expensive than your average takeaway but the quality is always excellent. Curries and sides and brsads are wonderful and so good you always want to return for more.

A friend recommended us a visit and the place didn't disappoint us: yummy curries with fresh ingredients, polite and quick service and the most delicious mango lassi.
