Mumbai in County Durham

Ordered our takeaway on a Saturday night it came within 30 minutes it was hot and delicious. It is unusual for any takeaway to arrive on time and be hot but Mumbai managed this I had chicken takeaway masala with pilau rice and spicy chips i would recommend this takeaway/restaurant 😋 👌

Happy hour menu is great if you just want a plain chicken curry and rice. All other meats/chips/flavoured Nan are £1 extra so still a cheap eat. Waiters are lovely and always chatty. Would highly recommend this place, local firms are currently struggling and this is one that I need to stay open!

I've been going to Mumbais for a number of years now and the service and quality of food is excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely for a quiet meal out with the Mrs, and we've been with groups before and the staff are always very accommodating. I highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thought we'd give it a try again after not visiting for a while,firstly can't complain about the food although the starters are a little pretentious but mains were tasty but my complaints are as follows, if your gonna advertise happy hour all evening for £10.95 and when you get there it's actually £11.95 then all the extras at £1 extra, like chips INSTEAD of rice £1 extra, flavoured rice £1 extra, chicken tikka £1 extra so really your happy hour meal ends off costing £14.95. Tonight not busy but after numerous requests for extra drinks and yogurt sauce the waiter had to be promted on more than one occasion for these items to be brought to the table, but what I'm most miffed about is two fold there seems to be a ploy as in not to bing your food with any urgency so you'll buy more drinks and secondly when we received our bill there was £10 extra worth of drinks which was blamed on a waiter issue but surely that should have been sorted before we got it. Sorry but the manager and waiters are total salesmen and just out to take as much as they can get and because of this we won't be back and would rather travel further to South Shields where its a much better night.

Always here...why?? Food amazing...ice cold lager...staff fab...service spot on. Lovely clean place...all precautions in place for covid...shaks always happy and cant do enough for you...keep up the good work mumbia your doing great 👍 see you soon x

My friend and visited here last night and very impressed, I thought the seating was very well spaced out and very clean. We had the set menu and very generous tasty portions, I had Pakora, Main, Rogosh Josh and Pilau Rice, my friend had Puri bread with Chicken Chat, main Balti with Chicken and Pilau Rice, their naan bread was amazing and melt in the mouth! The standard of food first class! Never been there before, very clean, beautiful decor, friendly staff. We had four gin and tonics, poppadoms, it was great value for money, generous portions. Lots of parking. I would run back!

No social distance. No track n trace. Happy hour £11.95 but ended up paying £95 for 4 person Challenged bill but still convince not correct. Won’t be going back

No social distancing, no separate entrance or exits. No Track and Trace and no facemarks. No wipe clean menus and no cleaning of tables. The best part of my meal was the peshwary nan, my biryani had 5 small pieces of meat and looked like Batchelors boil in the bag rice. The staff didn't wear masks, in fact at one point they used our table to stack several tables' plates on.. If I get Covid again, I will be pretty sure where it came from. Not going back. This place has seriously gone downhill, despite their new carpet

We have been visiting this restaurant for a few years but this was the worst experience we have ever had there First there are no Covid19 precautions. There is no social required spacing between tables and no evidence of any cleaning between diners. The staff were not wearing masks and no attempt on the staffs part to sanitise their hands. The numbers of customers allowed in Restaurant meant that that social distancing was impossible. The food that was served tonight, was both bland tasting and lukewarm with the exception of the naan bread which was hot and tasty. On tonights experience I could not recommend this Restaurant as I once did.

We went for Re-Opening Night on Tuesday 4/8/20, we have been regulars since the restaurant opened. It was great to see Khaled supporting Jabir and Shaks, we were greeted warmly and given a free drink. We ordered from the a la carte menu, both had Bangalore Jinga to start which was excellent and then Hyderabadi Lamb and Chameen Mangachar, again both delicious. The Restaurant has been repainted outside and new carpets in the conservatory and you could tell the restaurant had had a deep clean. Hand sanitiser was available on a table near the bar. Khaled stopped to chat a couple of times which was lovely as the restaurant was very busy. All in all we are pleased Mumbai is back open, onwards and upwards guys! Good luck and see you very soon.

Food: beautiful,there was quite a wait(expected on their first night)It was packed,no track & trace,no hand sanitizer when you arrive,no screens separating tables,no disposable menus & no wiping them down in between passing them round diners,only spaced area looked to be the conservatory area.We were sat on a round table where staff were continuously in & out of the storage station behind us for cutlery etc no social distancing or masks worn while walking around & not being able to stick to the 1/2 metre rule.Tables:the top layer was removed to be washed leaving another on the table where a clean one was placed over it?no wiping down the tables or chairs after diners had left & side plates already set out for the next nights service.The bill: first round of "free drinks" we were charged for,the £10 off pp hadn't been taken off(made sure Mumbai were part of the government's scheme before we went)after questioning this several staff members then proceeded to argue with us!At first they said they weren't part of the scheme & the happy hour wasn't included in it even if they were?Almost an hour later after he rang his "accountant"(who confirmed they are signed up)he then said it didn't start this week but might next?they finally discount our bill-£94 reduced to £17!they have clearly signed up on the governments website albeit under a different name,& advertised on their Facebook page they are(where)offering the money off before they removed the post-i hope they refund all diners

Terrible customer service, waiters try to get you to buy from full priced menu when we went for the happy hour , as soon as we finished our meal we were asked to leave the restaurant area to finish our drinks , upon paying were asked how much tip we would like to leave , would definitely not return

Really good customer service as usual, poppadoms and pickle nice and fresh. We got a combination of starters and they all were very nice especially the garlic mushroom on puri. There's one member of staff who tries a bit too hard, just take it easy dude there's no rush. Nice clean restaurant and toilets, will always return.

We waited a huge amount of time for our table and then between courses. This is despite booking and despite the place not being busy. Poppadoms came immediately then we nearly ate the table legs. Food was ok. Not bad. Not the best. Decent portions. Reasonably priced. Oh and the place was freezing. Bring a jumper. A table near us had a fan heater pointed towards them. Maybe we should have fought for the heater! I Wouldn’t rush back. Possibly would go back if short of other options. Staff are friendly. Place looks clean.

Fantastic food and brilliant service. Always visit when visiting family. Food and service is very good. The Staff always make you feel welcome.

Delicious food with excellent service, couldn't fault a thing. King prawns in tempura batter were gorgeous.

Although it was very busy we were waited upon as if we were the only people in the restaurant. The staff were efficient and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing!, I wanted to try something different so the bar manager made suggestions describing flavours and textures of certain dishes. I had chicken Pathia which they made less hot for my pallet. Wow!! Fantastic. My friends and I could genuinely not fault anything about our visit. A credit to the owner. Thank you

Went to Mumbai tonight for an early valentines meal! The staff are very welcoming and the food is lovely! We both got poppadoms (only flaw was I would have loved an onion based dips for it). Then we both got Bhuna Prawn on Puri and it was absolutely gorgeous! It my favourite dish! Then we both got a curry a garlic cheese naan and a garlic chilli naan, mushroom rice and chips! The bowls look like the won’t hold much food but honestly it holds so much and our eyes were way bigger than our belly! Would totally recommend it and it’s very reasonably priced! Yum! Definitely recommended!

I recently visited this restaurant with my wife and can honestly say it was the worst meal we have had. I took her here as a surprise as I had read the reviews and they were mostly excellent. BIG MISTAKE.From the moment we arrived the customer service was shocking. If I was spoken to like this with less people around.... well..... that's a different scenario. Our starter was ok. Nothing to shout about but set us up for our main.The main..... well.... my wifes meal was wrong 3 times. My meal was cold. Anytime we raised an issue we was made to feel as if we didnt know what we was talking about.Desert wasnt bad. Nicely presented but honestly nothing special.Facilities - great looking. Can see they have put some money in to it...but.... an apple can look nice on the outside but be rotten at the core and this place is exactly that, nice looking but rotten within. The bathroom facilities may need some attention also as there was a permanent bad smell and it was unclean throughout.I'd suggest all to reconsider eating here until they amend their attitude towards the public and improve standards.

We went for a family meal on New Years Eve and as soon as we got there the manager screwed up. Tried to tell at least 3 lots of customers (including ourselves) that we hadnt booked. Basically calling us all liars. Of course we all had proof so his attempt to shift blame backfired on him. This immediately created a bad atmosphere among everyone who was standing waiting to be seated. A sincere attempt at an apology would have been nice but he obviously has no customer service skills and just fuelled the fire. There were 5 in our party and 3 had to stand waiting for a table - wait for it - not 30 mins, not 1hour, but 1 hour 30 mins.This is by far the worst dining experience any of us has ever experienced. So a meal that was booked for 8.30pm ended up as a meal at 11pm by the time we got served! Naturally we were all fed up but only stayed as we wouldn't have been able to get in anywhere else at such short notice. The food was nice (no better than most Indian restaurants we have been to) and certainly not worth the wait! We could have cooked it in the time we waited! We were then asked to leave the table at 2 minutes to midnight and go to the bar area! What!! You mean where we had spent most of our night standing up! No thank you! We had plans to move on to a pub but obviously too late for this so basically we celebrated New Year driving home in the car! Totally ruined our evening. If only the ignorant Manager knew how to deal with customers in a courteous manner the irate customers may have accepted the situation more amicably. The poor staff were running all over while that rude man had the audacity to stand in front of people at the bar drinking his nice cold drink while people had queued for half an hour for a warm glass of beer! It is a wonder he didn't end up wearing his drink! Being short staffed is acceptable and understandably there will be delays but dont take it out on the customers just because you have not one iota how to deal with them. Nice restaurant let down by an inadequate Manager. Never EVER will we return for round 2!

We visited this restaurant on new years eve 2019 and will never visit again! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left was absolutely awful.Hands up to the chef the food was fantastic but that was the only compliment I can say about it. When we arrived we met family and friends in the bar area we were told we couldn't order drinks as the bar was to busy to sit in waiting area and we would be served as soon as somebody was available we were still waiting an hour later when we were finally shown to our table by a very unsociable waiter.Once at the table a waiter came and took the order for the drinks, and twice he got the order wrong.Then we placed our food orders which for our starters it took one and a half hours to be served to us absolutely disgraceful and as people around us kept complaining about the time of service a very rude manager kept repeating we short staffed it's new years eve a member of staff has had to go to hospital not what you want to hear really and certainly not by a very rude sour faced stern man!We sat and ordered more drinks eventually after 20mins the drinks arrived still sat waiting for main course to arrive.No food arrived after 45 mins so we approached a waiter asked how long the food was going to take he nodded and went off to arrive back 10mins later with the bill and a plate of mints, when we said we were waiting for our food he again about turned and went.Eventually got our food went to use the toilet no paper no soap no hot water.Manager a disgrace points at you all the time won't be going back

Hi I’m going to keep this short and sweet, we were kept in the holding pen like lambs waiting slaughter, as for the beer, supposed to be cobra beer tasted like a warm glass of bombardier, felt cheeky as the waiters were ushering tables out in head locks felt like I was ringside at wrestle mania 206, can’t believe I’ve had to pay for my own counselling my head feels like mashed potato and bisto mixed in to one, I went to the pub when east 17 stay another day was number 1 there’s this guy called Ed sheeran in the charts god knows who that is?

We checked on website it said £10.95 for 4 course meal had our meal which was very nice when we went to pay we were asked £44 I asked why and they said you never said happy hour when we came in. How are we supposed to know that going there for the first time. Felt ripped off

Arrived and shown to table quickly. Was told there was a large party in so service may be slower than normal but would try their best. To be honest I think they served us within a reasonable time & grateful they informed us. Food was tasty and I was able to take away what was left. Card machine was not working but fortunately we had cash. Only thing I’d say is that I’ve been there twice in the winter months & both times it’s been really cold inside so maybe that needs looking at. But overall food and service was great.

Lovely Indian restaurant, clean, and very tasty food which is reasonably priced. A young team of staff, who sometimes aren't the quickest, but always polite and helpful. Regularly visit and will be back

Won’t be returning. This is happening more and more at this restaurant. Wasn’t busy and we waited a long time to be served and over an hour in and we still didn’t have our starter!

Called on spec after a shopping trip. I have nothing but praise for the food we ate. I started with a Bhuna Keema on Puri, it was delightful. For my main, I had a Tikka Chicken Dupiaza which is the dish I always order on my first visit to a restaurant and again, I wasn't disappointed.

Ordered 3x set meals for collection, each of which come with a portion of rice or chips - we ordered 2x rice and 1x chips. Got home to find only 1x rice. Not a major issue and was expecting to ring and be told the other items would be delivered asap... how wrong I was. I was told by the rudest man in the world that it was my fault and I should have noticed when I collected. Also told that I didn’t ask for 2x portions of rice and I apparently specifically said that I didn’t want the rice, which was part of the set meal... hopefully this isn’t the start of dementia but I did not say anything of the sort. Told that delivery would be 1 hour and told ‘not to argue’ opened up the rest of the food which was one of the worst indian’s i’ve ever had and the curry was like watery dog sick and the chips just cold oven chips. Our chicken pasanda curry was a nuclear orange colour yet in every other Indian restaurant it’s usually a colour more like a korma.

Been plenty of times with both friends and family, never fail to please with their amazing food and friendly service. The food is reasonably priced especially for the amazing taste and wide range of choice of all mild, medium spice and spicy dishes.

Visited with my Family last night and enjoyed one of the finest Indian Meals I have ever had, certainly in the UK...The service from greeting to leaving was impeccable, friendly and good-humoured by a great, efficient staff and management. After eating at another well-established Indian Restaurant a week ago, we all realised that there was no competition to The Mumbai! When you add the fact that the bill, including wine, spirits, beers and soft drinks came to 70% of the previous week's cost we were well impressed...Well done The Mumbai Haswell Plough!

Visited whilst on holiday in Durham . We had a lovely meal nice staff music was a little loud on our arrival but turned down as we sat down to eat which I was pleased about. Would definitely visit again when up here.

Whenever l am back in the North East, l always visit this restaurant. Brilliant service and superb food at a good price. The Staff are always friendly and attentive and will go out of their way to ensure your visit is enjoyable. Superb!!!

Fantastic!! Such a lovely place to eat! We all really enjoyed our visit here! The food was beautiful, every single bit we enjoyed. Full of flavour and great size portions - exactly how a Indian meal should be! The drinks were fab and the service was even better. We all like the idea we feel waited on hand and food. Never a moment without a drink. Great!! Also lovely friendly staff who make you feel welcome. It was our first visit as we only live round the corner. We will definitely becoming more regular! 100% recommended

We called in on spec and got a table ! The staff were very friendly ! The food was delicious and plenty to chose from ! The deco inside is lovely , don’t let the outside put you off ! The prices are really good and they even do a happy hour ! We will defiantly be returning

This Indian is by far the best around! Food is exceptional, extremely tasty and reasonably priced to dine in(and also to take away). Boss one and Boss two are so helpful, efficient, friendly and nothing is ever a problem with these!

Have eaten at this restaurant several times but fancied trying something different tonight, so we went for seafood.

We couldn't manage starters so just had poppadoms & mains. Poppadoms & pickles were good. Special Biryani & chicken tikka hydrabadi were both outstanding. Strangely, the Hydrbadi isn't actually on the menu any more, when its a superb dish. Lovely strong flavours & right amount of chilli, best curry I've tasted in a long while. Seems to be getting better all the time. A couple of Cobras made a very pleasant evening.

Had a table booked for 7.30 and we arrived just before that time. The food took ages to arrive. We had to complain about this for starters and main course. The popadoms were not great (a bit soft) but the onion bhaji was nice. At 8.50 I complained we were fed up waiting for main courses. About 10 mins later the food arrived. My wife tasted her chicken rogan and immediately sent it back because it was simply not nice. When we spoke to the manager to air our concerns. He was unpleasant and confrontational telling us we were wrong to complain. This is the worst experience we have had in any Indian restaurant ever and we have eaten in many all over the UK. We will not return!

We visit this restaurant as often as we can. Never disappointed. Excellent food and the service is second to none. Our last visit was for a birthday celebration. So glad we booked a table because the restaurant was very busy.

Service was excellent and staff really friendly. Food was absolutely gorgeous and even the kids loved it when they tend to be a bit picky! The only thing I think could’ve made it better is if it was a bit warmer, we arrived at 5 just after opening though so this is probably not a complaint amongst later diners.

Stale poppidoms . Got there early for 5 when opened, freezing cold, was not busy, waited 35 min for main course, when the poppadoms arrived with pickles, mint sauce , chutney, the third item in the bowl bright green mushy stuff, when asked it was tinned pineapple coloued with food coloring, never have I seen this before, I order vegetable pakora I was given 3 chicken dippers, which my granddaughter ate, I don’t do meat thank you, all the main course where red with food colouring, the food was absolutely disgusting,I have had better curry meals from Asia, not going back disappointed in the quality of food, it was minging, not recommended

Its a while since we last visited. Still a warm welcome & good service from the staff. I'd almost decided what I was going to have beforehand, but Jabir knows the sort of food I like & recommended the same thing - Hydrabadi Lamb ! Everything was very nice, and not too hot for my Wife, but they brought me extra green chiilies & chilli pickle ! Still one of the nicest around.

From the second i parked my car...to entering the place...the welcoming we got...to the service leading to our table...the view...the top notch staffs..has been unreal. I have been to loads of restaurants but this has won my heart! The service they provide was perfect. Mind blowing place. The staffs, the table, the venue itself was so clean and tidy. The Food. my gosh if i had space in my belly i would have ordered seconds. Just the way we wanted it! 10* defo. 100% going again. . Guys its the bestest out the best Indian restaurant. if u havnt tried your missing out. Thank you Mumbai x

We eat quite regularly at Mumbai and always find the food very good.We were there again on Saturday night.There was a group of young women celebrating a birthday who were very drunk and very loud.We moved seats and another diner asked them to be quiet. The staff encouraged their behaviour. When paying, we thanked the manager for the good food but said they should have managed the situation better.He wouldn't listen and became very argumentative. I am not a complainer. That's the last visit there.

Last night was the fourth time I’ve visited this restaurant, and I imagine there’s many more visits to come. First of all, the standard of decoration & cleanliness is first rate. Not one inch of the restaurant looks worn, old, or unclean. Every single staff member I have ever encountered has been not only hugely pleasant, but also accommodating and attentative. And then we come to the food! £10.95 for a starter (I always opt for Prawn Buhna on Puri), chicken tikka masala, rice & a peshwari naan. My boyfriend also got the same (swapping rice for chips) and we had 2 pints of coke, 4 poppadoms & dips and the bill came to £34. If I had to give one negative it would be that the chips aren’t the chunky, handcut chips you normally get with an Indian but to be completely honest, that would be me being hugely picky. I can’t wait to return & me and my boyfriend have already spoke about how much we are craving their chicken tikka masala even one day after. Thank you Mumbai for a fantastic meal. X

Now where do i actually start. I have reported mumbai and spoke to the rat infestation agancies about this. I came here in the 6 weeks with my two kids. Service was quite slow. Food took so long my kids said “foods taking like a year to arrive” haha. My son james said he could see something moving but I thought he was messing around. I saw a little tail moving and it made me curious. I then saw a little mouse run across the room and no one noticed except from me james and hannah. I then grabbed my kids and got out of there asap. My bairn hannah 8 is scared of them and i find them rank. I rang me husband charles and he reported it to the council for rat infestation i hope this gets solved. Also the owner looked very dodgy just putting that out there. Him and his “porsche”.

A get together with friends for a 'catch up', laughs and a meal. Pleasant rural location. Good countryside ride if you're on a motorcycle. Good surroundings, service, staff and meal . . .

Went here with my family for a Indian tea as it’s our favourite Indian and unfortunately our local Hartlepool branch was closed. We visited for our regular curry’s and received absolutely fabulous service from Foz and Shaq. The meals where delicious and we received a lovely pallet cleanser of there unique homemade drink. I would defiantly recommend to anyone for food and for an excellent customer service experience. They are so accommodating and go above and beyond to ensure every customer has the best possible experience. Thank you so much Mumbai haswell!

Our second time eating here and the food was just as good. Great selection of classic and fusion dishes, all reasonably priced. The staff were excellent, letting us know when dishes would be ready, and they dealt with my allergy worries quickly and professionally. Recommended!

First time at Mumbai for a family meal visiting from Birmingham. Lived up to other reviews. Food delicious and service excellent. Look forward to eating here again next time we are up north.

Visited with my wife for an evening meal. Welcome by the staff exceedingly warm and friendly and shown to our table.

We took our two daughters and one is blind and has a guide dog they were brilliant put us in a corner on a larger table so plenty of room underneath for him to lie down food was excellent and very good staff we will return

The worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. One hour and ten minutes before we were served starters. It took thirty five minutes for our wine to arrive and only then after we had to remind them about it.

Booked for 6.30 was seated 10 minutes later a further 20 minutes to finally take our order slow on the uptake overall 40minutes to be served main meal Meal was good but left out to dry a bit

We visited on Friday 20th July. We were a large party and the restaurant came to our rescue after a complete debacle at another restaurant. The staff were amazing, really helpful and friendly. The food was lovely served on warmed plates . Would highly recommend it. Lots of finishing touches. Free parking right outside and very good decor. We had brought our own birthday cake, the staff added candles and supplied plates for our use. A very professional, smoothly run establishment.

We were just visiting and our B&B; (York House) suggested this nearby place for dinner. The food was pretty tasty and portions were good sized. The mild curries were quite mild for my kids (we live in Hong Kong so they are accustomed to some stronger flavors). Solid meal, well prepared and friendly staff.

My family visited this restaurant yesterday for a last minute celebration we were a party of fifteen a massive Thank You for accommodating us at the last minute even though you were very busy , Food excellent, Service wonderful as usual cannot fault this restaurant 10/10 I would recommend Mumbia to everyone a big Thank You Well Done x x

Came here with a group of friends. The four course special offer is starter, main course, rice and bread. That is two, not four courses. Service slow. Food was quite good however but nothing special. The chairs were stained and really need cleaning or replacing. One of my friends was ordering a side dish but before she'd had time to explain that she wanted two the waiter told her, 'you can't just have a side dish!' Made me feel awkward even though we spent a lot of money there.

Okay, so I was put in a dark corner (single traveller) even though there were many nicer tables in the main part of the room, and the table cloth wasn’t the cleanest, I still enjoyed the food. The samosas were really very good and the rice was fresh and nicely presented. The curry was slightly sweet for my taste, but was definitely good. The service was sufficiently attentive and the bill, very reasonable. I would certainly go again.

Visited Mumbai again recently and as always the food was delicious. Staff are lovely and very welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.

Myself and a couple of friends visited this Indians on a Tuesday night, although not massively busy it still had a great feel and atmosphere.

We had the best food and drinks here, the service is excellent, the staff are very friendly and the food tastes amazing. The wine menu is really good and a good choice of drinks at the bar and and a good range of draft. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, it is well worth the money and we will be back. Excellent fir kids too as lots of food options.

Food was lovely (and i am very fussy about my Indian food) Staff friendly and we were made to feel welcome. My 3rd time there will be going again.. Highly recommended.

Went tonight for dinner on a friends recommendation. Don't know how we've missed this little jewel, all I can say is first class everything, great service, very attentive but not over the top, lovely atmosphere and most importantly amazing food, we had two courses each wine and a beer for less than £40.00 will definitely be returning and recommending.

First visit to this lovely Indian restaurant but certainly not the last. Food and service first class, the place itself is very modern and clean and very busy probably due to all of the above. Staff were very polite and helpful, then as we were leaving we were asked by the owner if he could buy us a drink to which we gladly accepted, the owner joined us chatting to us asking our feedback on his restaurant we felt so comfortable even tho this was our first visit we got another drink, just before we left the owner then told us about his new restaurant opening in Sunderland (which is our home town) he asked if we would accept his invitation to join him for the opening party and took our details saying we’ll be contacted closer to the time. What a lovely guy

Great value early bird menu and fantastic service, well worth a visit and the chicken chatt was a real winner!

This is our 2nd visit to Mumbai and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is decorated to a high standard. Ordered popadom and pickles to start. Then took advantage of the happy hour 3 course menu. Ordered bhuna prawn on puri and a chicken chat on puri. Presentation lovely, my personal preference is I prefer 1 big puri however this was served as 4 mini discs. My partner said the chicken chat was the best he's ever tasted. For mains we ordered Chicken Sri Lanka and Lamb Chilli Masalla. Both the chicken and Lamb were lovely. The Sri Lanka sauce was ok not the best I've tasted and slightly watery but still nice enough and think this is more my personal preference. The winner of the day though was the Chilli Masalla definitely the best we've ever tasted highly recommended. Got garlic rice and a keema and garlic naan to share both delicious. Portion size was good. Had a regular Coke and a pint and bill came to just under £35 great value for money. Ideal restaurant for both couples and bigger parties. Can't wait for our next visit best Indians in Durham.

Called in tonight expecting the happy hour only to be told it was 50% off the foodbill. The whole lot was lovely and tasty. My other half had a Balti and it was delicious. We usually go to South Shields but will defo be back here. Highly recommended and the service couldn't be faulted.

Great night. Lovely table for 10 in the conservatory. Well attended throughout the meal with no rush to order or leave the table. Good quality food. Nice decor in modern style & pleasant service from all the staff.No problem in visiting again.

Went tonight with family . Lager definitly a no go .Cobra draft 1 pint and didnt smell right but paid for it so drank it . 4 starters all good except very small samosas and my chicken breast was rubbery as if it should be cooked longer salad not as fresh as liked . 4 main meals and rices all nice .naan breads very fresh and nice . All in all 50 quid was very good for what we got but wouldnt be worth the full price

We don't get the chance to go to the Mumbai very often, but when we do it has never let us down.The staff are all really friendly and polite, orders and taken quickly and food is cooked and served quickly too. The food has always been excellent - served piping hot and full of flavour, with a nice range of dishes on the menu.The Happy Hour (from 5-6 every evening) is particularly good value, with pretty much 50% off your bill if you eat then. This does make it very popular with families, so it can be a bit noisy (and booking is definitely recommended), but for me this just adds to the atmosphere.The only real downside is the bar: on a recent visit, the only beers they had were Cobra and John Smith's - it would be nice if they had a couple of real ales as an option too.

Love it here, visit roughly 6/8 times per year. Food is always to a high standard as is the service. Keep up the good work guys.

As you enter, the sign states 'exemplary indian cuisine'....... this is not ambitious - this is correct! What a fantastic experience! The service is impeccable, the menu is creative and refreshing and the team can not help enough! If luck to be in the area, it is a must!

I have been once before but because of the distance from where i live never been again. Tonight as it was a special occasion we decided to treat ourselves and we were not dissapointed! Ambience is relaxed and spacious! Service is exceptional and the food is absolutely amazing!!! Every last detail is thought out to perfection and cooked in the most authentic but stylistic way possible. The flavours in here tonight were up there with the best ive ever tasted! Authentic and modern! 4 very satisfied customers!

Fast prompt service, food was brilliant, staff friendly and helpful too, happily recommend, will use again.
