Had another takeaway 6.6.24 and it exceeded all expectations it was delicious best curry I have had in a long long time from anywhere and delivery was spot on. Well done

A gem of a chip shop just off one of the main roads into Sheffield. The staff are always friendly & the food is excellent. It's well worth a visit if you are feeling peckish!

Always go here. Love the food and will continue to go here for the foreseeable future. Edit: went today and the portion sizes are awful. Looks more like kids meals. Really gone downhill lately. Definitly trying to increase their profit margins

Believe it or not that’s a medium fish, about 1 inch across and 5 long, dread to think what a mini is. Also disappointed in old chips.

I've been going to the Trafalgar for decades. It's not my local anymore, but on the odd occasion, I'll go in. The chips are usually nice and not too greasy. The fish white, tasty, and batter crispy. Peas enjoyable. There's some bad reviews on Google Maps and there is some truth to some of the chips having black 'eyes' or streaks through them, but they were less than other chip shops and very fresh on my latest visit. I would improve the food by using a little more quality control on the chips and ensuring they're always cooked fresh. Other than that, they're fine. I never go to any chip shop during non peak times as you're always likely to get chips that have been sat for quite some time. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal.

Had a takeaway onFriday night . Bhajis , tarka dhal , lamb Pathia Nan and popadoms, this meal was absolutely fabulous was in of the best Indian takeaways I have ever had. Well done

Previous 2 visits could not have had better service and food was great. Called in tonight (friday) and usual front of house absent (he is great). Kids of staff running round and one guy actually glossing the paintwork and this was 7pm. No other customers present and when we told them we wouldnt be staying they really couldnt have cared less..

The food was piping hot and fresh the batter was amazingly crisp. Would definitely to friends and family.

I remember this chip shop as being okay but I paid £9.50 early doors for an apparently reheated, small, dry piece of fish and chips with day-glow green peas. They'd probably do okay on a match day for the already tanked up. It's my own fault for not waiting till Thursday when Pete's chippy opens in Grenoside....always beautifully fresh and beef dripping tasty...and two pounds cheaper, like for like.

I ordered a spiced kebab , literally eight small slithers of Kebab meat and packed out with onions and peppers. Previously had to leave bits for the morning, very dissapointex

Really poor! We went today for 2 fish, 1 chips, 2 sauces and 2 cans of pop. It was £22.30 which I wouldn’t have minded however, the quality was awful! It was freezing cold and stale. It seemed like it was from yesterday. It used to be a great chippy, it isn’t anymore!

Run by a wonderful family. Friendly and chatty. Fish and chips always excellent. Would thoroughly recommend.

I have had 3 takeaways over 4 years from trafalgar , the first one was an entirely different order the second time was freezing and wrong order and the third i was given half an order and when i rang up i was told the rest ( the starters) had been sent elsewhere so when it finally arrived 2 hours after ordering the correct delivered food was freezing and inedible 55 quids worth of food wasted , i always say to myself never again as the food is average anyway but hteres very limited options in consett, will someone please open a decent indian restauraunt or takeaway in consett.

Great chips, reasonable price for big portions, some different stuff on meni, fried halloumi

Visited yesterday and purchased 2 medium cod and medium chips...always been more than happy with the food from here in the past....but not anymore. Was really shocked when we opened them ...the fish were so small and chips looked old as if they were warmed up not fresh at all. We paid £14.40 and felt we were totally ripped off. Won't be returning anytime soon. Used to be our favourite chippy.....not anymore.....had to give it one star cause it wouldn't let me post it....doesn't deserve any.

Dispatched in 6 minutes arrived in under 15 mins. £40 order. YEP you guessed it MICROWAVED!! NOT only that but old dry meat & some slimey & SWIMMING IN OIL I only tried this place due noticing the food hygine had gone from 1 to 4 ( somehow ) i assumed it to be a new owner, believe me it should be a 0 absolutely disgusting. Rang up to complain manager useless refused to do anything about it. Daylight robbery. Don't be fooled. Complaint open with JE & I'll be contacting the council first thing in the morning.

Another takeaway last night delivered within 10 mins of the time requested food was hot, fresh and tasted amazing well done to whoever cooked it The popadoms when delivered were still warm and very crisp We can’t wait for our next takeaway Absolutely beautiful

Not what it used to be. You're lucky if the chips are even cooked. Last time I went the fish was smaller than the sausage. Pathetic and expensive t's gone downhill BIG time. I hope they take notice and change their ways.

Popodums were reasonable, bhajis and Bhuna prawn on purée barely acceptable as lacking in taste, chicken tikka masala just a sugary generic sauce and naan was again sugary. No carefully prepared meals here. Binned most of it.

I ordered food from this restaurant/takeaway quite regular.Never had a problem with there food or service.However….. on my last 3 order’s the food & service has been a huge let down. Missing item’s are becoming a huge problem. There special’s consist of various courses, which can go missing? Then if that’s not bad enough your main dish can be leaking all over your bag. Onion bhajis used to be lovely, now they are brittle & dry. Salads, bhajis poppadoms can be missing. Trafalgar need to sort these issues out asap. Honest review how I’ve found it lately.

Awwww, man. I feel so bad having to write this but this really wasn't good. This chip shop has been THE place to go to for generations in my family. Used to be the best chip shop not just in the area but also had a great reputation throughout the whole of Sheffield. People would travel beyond their local chippy just to go here. It really was that good. But unfortunately it's just a shadow of its former glory now. I really don't enjoy giving a bad review to small local businesses but if they take feedback on board in good faith, hopefully they can work to put things right. I know things are tough out there right now but serving up below standard product is cutting the nose off to spite the face. Nobody will go back. Especially if they had what I had. I had peas on my chips and it wasn't until a few mouthfuls in that I noticed the chips tasted off. On closer inspection, they were covered in brown spots, looked rotten in places and tasted extremely unpleasant. Whether it's buying cheap product or just being blind when they're chipping the potatoes or even worse - both, they need to review the quality control or they'll end up with no business at all. The competition is so much better and I'll be going to Frymaster at Attercliffe in the future. Even though it's a bit out of my way, people will make the effort and pay that little bit more if the quality is there. Just like they used to do here. 😢

Used to be our go-to chip shop, but went for the first time since the pandemic a few weeks ago and it seems to have completely changed. Ordered a pie which was heated up in the microwave in front of me, then when I got back the fish batter was soggy and stuck to the paper, taking it all off as I lifted it up. Rang to let them know and see if I could go back for a replacement, was greeted with a very blunt and rude response on the phone, but told to bring the fish back and they would give me another one. When I got there I was so fed up with the rude response and none of the fish in the counter looked any better so I got my money back (just for the fish, even though my chips were also cold at home by this point) Went to another chip shop just up the road which was 1000x better- cheaper and the fish was huge and crispy. Won't be going back any time soon...

This was recommended to us as best place for take-away so thought we’d give it a try. The ability to order via the app was perfect, so easy. Popped in to collect and the food was ready on time. Quality was excellent, lots of food and all delicious. We ordered korma, tikka masala and dupiaza with range of rice, naans and some starters. Chicken was beautifully tender and every dish was well cooked. Highly recommend

Visited this chippy this evening as always go to this chippy prior to it being temporarily closed used to pay £12 for 2 large fish and chips. We ordered 2 large fish 1 portion chips and 1peas. The price was £15.50. We queried this as the fish they were wrapping was minute however to our horror we were told the fish was large.!! The chips were called. Disgusting meal had to order pizza as so bad . Avoid at all cost !! Manager not interested. Bring back the previous owner please

I ordered via the website last night what I usually order from here, never been a problem and always spot on, I didn’t get to eat mine until late as I was still working , I’m a vegetarian and always order vegetarian dishes, unfortunately they se not a chicken dish ( mistakes happen we are all human) I called the restaurant and it was obvious closed as no answer, so no tea for me! I called this evening when I know it was opening to explain the mistake, to be treated terribly by the young lad on the other phone who very sarcastically asked why I didn’t call straight away!, I explained why! And all the manager would say is we all make mistakes! And next time I order he’ll give me something free!!! So what about the meal I still have and payed for and can not eat? Terrible customer skills! Never ever use them again!

Superb food, served in a homely, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I'm from Chorlton, Manchester and the food in Trafalgar is as good, or better than anything I've had in Manchester recently. I'm a vegan and my Vegetable Chatt with Aloo Gobi was really tasty - well cooked, fresh vegetables in a flavorsome sauce. My family had chicken, which was enjoyed thoroughly. So good, in fact, that we came back on a Thursday, at the end of our holiday, for the buffet. Food and service were again excellent. Recommended.

This is the best by far, there is no after taste. Love the fish cake butties, no bones like others. Also there fish chips and curry are divine. Highly recommend. Friendly nice service. Perfect.

Ordered via app at 7.30,still nothing arrived after 75 mins,rang up and was told food was ready and were next order out,3 fone calls later food arrived after 2 hours,son allergic to sultanas and this was specified on order,meal had sultanas in.after 2 hours you would think this was an easy order to get right,complained and was offered a replacement but didn’t fancy waiting ages again so declined,no compensation offered,I honestly think they had forgotten about our order as confusion was evident on first call,Shame as we use them often but never again,try an alternative who doesn’t tell lies

Had a mixed grill and a curry last month and it was really delicious. Highly recommended. The service was excellent and the quality of food was top notch.Cant wait for everything to get back to normal so we can sit in and dine.

The best fish cakes in Sheffield but everything is so good and the staff are lovely and friendly. They always wrap up a sausage for my dog but the best thing about this chippy is the BATTER. Once the batter is right you know everything else is delicious. Never been disappointed but always surprised by the friendly staff, delicious food and the extra sausage for my dog. Thankfully they are still managing to stay open.

Called to Trafalgar fisheries chip shop at 6pm Thursday 10/12/20 for chips, fishcake & carton of gravy, the potato in the fish cake was hard, we chose this chip shop because the other chip shop Todays Catch is going down hill, & this one is no better, we dont seem to have a decent chippy round here anymore!!

Have tried all the Indian takeaways around the Consett area and this has been the best by far. Always seem to put in a little extra something in the bag for you. The Thursday offer is good value and well worth it. Easily feed two people on it. Order for pick up for the best value. Ask for extra spice as it can be quite mild (like most takeaways these days!). Staff are always polite and friendly.

Went for tea for my daughter and had to take back the battered sausage as it was raw. Been local to this chippy for 17 years . Pay that bit more and go to todays catch.

Always a fan of this restaurant managment & staff. The Thursday evening buffet during the good old days was excellent & great value. Now with COVID & lockdowns we rely upon take away service. I order via Just Eat & am repeatedly frustrated by having to wait one & a half hours for a delivery which is unacceptable from restaurants etc who advertise delivery within the hour. The Trafalger Indian Restaurant always comes up trumps & can be consistantly relied upon for a fast within 30 minutes delivery, well packed, fresh delicious food, good portions & value. Highly recommended.

Nice chippy with friendly staff

we were staying a few miles away, a group of 6 friends, we fancied an Indian on the last night of our holiday. We booked in and arrived. The staff was very friendly and helpful. He took our drinks and food order and both arrived quickly. All 6 of us enjoyed our starter of poppadoms and 1 had bhaji, then the mains arrived with naan and it was all lovely.

Best Chip shop in the area without a doubt. The staff/owners are always so lovely and the food is always cooked to perfection.

Very tasty fish and chips with one of the best curry sauces I've tried. Only "complaint" would be the fish was surprisingly skinny. Never seen a fish from a chippy be so skinny but it was still quite long. Also thought the price of the fish was a bit much for how skinny it was when the same price in another chippy would get you quite a sizeable one.

Reviews were good so thought ‘why not give it a go’Polite and prompt service- take away arrived quickly.Starter was fine, though lamb was a little tough.Mains a different story. Chicken dish completely tasteless, almost inedible. The lamb dish was once again very tough, resorted to steak knives to cut through it. Not pleasant to eat and again the sauce was just a chilli flavoured gloop. Don’t think there will be a revisit, very disappointing.
