This is one of my favourite restaurants in Chapel Allerton. In the old Police Station, the place is so cosy, comfortable and the quality of the food is excellent. The lamb is divine! They are excellent with children and very accommodating.

This was my first visit and I was simply blown away by the flavoursome fresh food. I have eaten in so many Asian restaurants and had homemade Asian food cooked by friends and Rasoi Stories is one of the most authentic hidden gems in Indian restaurants, for sure. Honestly one of the best I have experienced with a nice homely and intimate atmosphere with attentive and friendly service. I will be back!

I absolutely love this place. If there is any Indian restaurant that is my go-to, Rasoi stories would be it. Everything is made so fresh and never fails me! The garlic naan and chicken tikka masala are to die for - think i have been about 6 times!! Staff are lovely too.

The food was beautiful and delicious. Full points for presentation and friendliness of the staff. We got a corner spot for our group allowing us to have rememberable conversations. I would rate it as one of best Indian restaurants in Leeds.

I really like atmosphere here. Staff were very helpful and kind to us. Nice service and amazing food. Garlic nan with curry, papadoms, and king fisher, made my day! Will come back soon for sure!

This has become one of our favourite restaurants. The first time we went, we took our auntie and uncle from India and they loved it as much as we did. Delicious food and friendly service. We will be returning many times.

I often day dream about the lamb chops at Rasoi Stories, to the point that I worry that the next time I have them they won’t be as nice, but luckily they always are! And they come with a lovely side dish of rogan josh sauce. YUM. Having said that all the other dishes I’ve tried there have been lovely too, but it’s all about the lamb chops for me. Order them as a main, you won’t regret it.

A little disorganised when we arrived, a bit off putting. Nice dacor clean & well presented. But soon sorted. Popadoms & pickles, the one you would expect to be really hot chilli wasn't it was mellow tomato paste, yum. Mains all really enjoyable were not much for hot spicy food, couldn't taste any difference between butter chicken & tikka masala, both nice. Our 9 year old grandson had the children's size plenty big enough.

Fantastic! A group of 6 of us visited without a reservation and it was one of the best Madras’ I’ve ever had. Great service and everything was perfect. Chaat starter was also fantastic.

Food was overall nice, although I was somewhat disappointed that my vegetable curry was on the small side - roughly half the amount of food - compared to the meat-containing curries for a similar price. Perhaps avoid if you are looking for a filling meal.

Arrived early but warmly welcomed. Pleasant surroundings you.Not hurried but order taken promptly. Helpful advice given without asking. Food was excellent, 2 shared starters were very nicely presented and very much enjoyed. Mains were fresh and well cooked. Chicken was not dried out and the lamb was deliciously tender?Tarka dall was piping hot. Accompaniments were excellent. One of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten in.. knocks spots off the others nearby!

This was our 2nd visit here. Although the starter for all 3 of us was bordering on peculiar and not tasty at all, our mains were very good indeed. We thoroughly enjoyed those. The young lady who served us initially was very sweet if a little nervous on her first day. The service here is painfully slow - our mains took nearly 40 minutes! I have a disability so went to use the disabled loo. I can truthfully say I've never seen such a disgusting Ladies - ever! It was utterly horrid. My husband took the owner to see but he said that it had just been cleaned and dismissed our concerns. There was not one cm that wasn't covered in very old bacteria and filth. I was furious at being treated this way. I've given 1 star for the mains food despite the delay. We won't come back.

One of the most authentic Indian food restaurants in Leeds and around

The best authentic independent Indian restaurant in Leeds. Family run, friendly staff, amazing authentic Indian food, reasonably priced what more can you ask for? My favourite was the Lamb Shank Curry and Lamb Chop. The buttermilk chicken was tasty and the King Prawn Masala was so fresh, can tell the king prawn was fresh. I need to try all Lamb dishes in the menu.

I'm a lightweight korma fan.. No korma on menu but owner suggested chef cook a mild butter chicken, still a bit warm for me but resolved with the offer of some yoghurt. First time I've had a mango chutney with spices in, not my preference. Others in party would return but I'm too much of a lightweight. Nice to hear the owner talk about the restaurant with such passion,he obviously cares alot.

The most incredible Indian food, in a beautiful setting with lots of history and the most attentive staff. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. It’s become a weekend staple for our family and every week we say how amazing the food and service was. Take out is just as good as eating in but eat in to experience everything this venue has to offer! We have tried so many of the amazing dishes on the menu and keep finding new ‘favourites’! You will find us there most Sundays for a great family meal to end the weekend. Excellent value for such amazing food and service.

Visited Rasoi Stories on new year day to celebrate my wife's birthday with friends. Lovely place to celebrate the occasion. Good food, nice people to wait on us and comfortable ambiance.... Would recommend this place for its awesome jackfruit curry.

An easy five stars. We ordered takeout for eight adults tonight and we were all highly impressed. It exceeded expectations! I personally had the Malai Kofta and it was sensational. I’ve been a handful of times now and it has been consistently very good, though I think this might have been the best yet. Very surprised to see bad reviews. I’ve not had any issues to complain of in my experience so far!

Visited New year’s eve with my wife for celebratory meal . Was warmly greeted by the manager and showed to table . Meal was of a very high standard . We used to go there a lot prior to covid but standards had dropped so not been for a while . I’m delighted to say that the standard of food and service has returned to excellent . We had pickle tray with Poppadoms to begin . My wife had Chicken Tikka which was excellent and I had Chicken Kolhapuri which was top class . Hot spicy with fantastic flavours . Both were accompanied by Mushroom rice which was lovely and the best garlic Naans i’ve had for ages . Light , crisp , and flavoursome . We ended with delicious Kulfi , and my wife had an expresso martini and I had a lovely salted caramel latte . Bill came to £64 including beer and a large gin and tonic . The manager thanked us on the way out and I was able to thank him for a great meal and dining experience in a lovely environment . I would fully recommend again .

The food is delicious. Had the seafood platter to start which was 10 out of 10. So fresh, tasty and well cooked. Followed with curries - all of which were also delicious. Excellent naan too. Only reason its not a 5 star is because I feel the restaurant is shooting itself in the foot in terms of ambience. The temp was chilly in the main restaurant and freezing in the downstairs loo's. Never quite felt comfortable and relaxed (needed a thick jumper). The restaurant was a third full but there was no buzz - turn the heating on, get some music on, add a bit of atmosphere! It would do wonders for the place and compliment the food. Honestly one of the best curries I've ever had but the ambience needs some thought and attention.

Food was very good. However lack of heating so frozen all night. Restaurant did not honour £15 curry night despite being there and ordering within time limit. Only certain items covered in deal which was in small print and not legible. Owner said we should not quibble over not getting deal as only saving £2/£3. Would never go again.

Good service and the starter was nice but otherwise very disappointing food. We spent £45 each including drinks so it wasn't cheap. My friends butter chicken barely tasted of anything. My sea bass was very over cooked.

Made our first visit to this genuinely family-run restaurant, and it certainly won't be the last. The moment the pickles and poppadums arrived it was clear this place serves Indian food of a very different (higher) standard to most. Pickles and dips were clearly home-made (confirmed by the staff) and we hoped these were a small but promising sign of things to come. We weren't disappointed - our respective starters of samosa chaat and bhel puri were fresh, light and delicious (my bhel puri was delightful) as well as being very generous portions. Come hungry to do justice to these! Mains and desserts were equally delicious, and our bottle of rioja was really excellent value at £24.95, a top-notch bottle at a very reasonable price for a restaurant. Beer drinkers are equally well-served, with several draught beers on offer (I began the evening with a delicious pint of draught Kirkstall Virtuous IPA) as well as bottles. Staff were attentive, polite and service was prompt without feeling in any way rushed. Lovely surroundings, too, tastefully decorated and nicely lit with none of the usual tacky clichees, either in decor or music. We're really looking forward to our next visit and we'll certainly be bringing friends along too.

A lovely Indian restaurant, our favourite in the area. The service is really friendly, the ingredients are high-quality and the meals are delicious!

Ordered a takeaway from here. It arrived quickly and was hot. Tasty, but too spicy for us. We can both handle a fair amount of spice, but when the spice is heat for the sake of heat rather than heat from flavour it’s not our favourite. Would recommend to anyone who loves spice, though. My favourite thing I ordered was the samosa chaat. The lamb from the curry was very well cooked.

We have visited this restaurant on multiple occasions and always find the service to be welcoming and friendly. The menu has a great range of options including lots of authentic dishes, which makes a nice difference compared to your average curry house. The food is all reasonably priced and always cooked to a high standard!

First time here celebrating our wedding anniversary and what a great experience!! We had the Amritsari Fish and aloo chaat for starters and chicken saag, rice and sholay poori. The portions were plentiful and the food was tasty. They also do a great range on non alcoholic drinks. Staff were great! We will be back soon!

Nice friendly owners, very welcoming. The mixed starter combo for two was delicious freshly cooked and a great tasting. The tandoori roti though was tiny especially for the cost. The mango lassi was delicious though overpriced also. The young lad they had wandering about too just doesn't or didn't have the same politeness as the owners, very abrupt and almost dismissive which is a shame, all I asked was for the bill. If you don't mind paying more than you should for a smaller portion size even if it is tasty fresh food, then give it a try. it was a tasty one off visit for me though.

First time eating here and really enjoyed it. I had the shami kebab for starters followed by Chicken Jalfrezi. Both were quite spicy and very tasty. The garlic and peswari naans were amazing.

Went with a friend last week for a meal. Food was wonderful, so much of it I had byriani (had to take a doggy bag home ). The waiting staff couldn't had been more helpful, highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning

The food was lovely but the service was severely lacking. The Maître d was not attentive and it appeared that he told off members of staff when he could have easily done the job. The junior staff appeared flustered and over worked. I would get a takeaway as the food was lovely but won't be rushing back to dine in.

Am I the only person not impressed? I bought a curry from here last night , take away, half 5, the curry was pleasant, a bit watery but the rice and Nan bread were cold ? Luke warm at the very best. Beautiful restaurant inside just disappointed with our order.
