Authentic Indian food. Lovely calm atmosphere

We eat here on a regular basis, and have done so for years. The food is constantly excellent and cooked to a high standard and always fresh. Amit and the rest of the front of house staff are always tentative, friendly, efficient as well as being fully knowledgeable about the menu. The service is excellent. Lovely restaurant. No other Indian restaurant beats it for us! I’ve tried most of the dishes and never had a bad one!

Been here 90 mins after ordering, still no food, crap, about to walk out. Food did finally arrive and was really good, however, shocking service.

We live miles away, so this was a random choice for a meal, but I'm so glad we did. Attentive but not intrusive staff. Probably the best pickle tray ever, the mixed starter was really good , but as usual I'd eaten too much to really eat my main. A really nicely fitted out restaurant with great food. We will go back.

Seven of us had a fantastic meal here tonight. Everything from start to finish was excellent. Each member of the team was so attentive and polite from.walking through the door to leaving. The food is excellent, we had varying tastes within our group and they catered to every need and it was all spot on. We will definetely be back soon.

We visited here in a Sunday tea time as a family and couldn’t of been happier, we had starter and mains each and they was all great, good portions too, we need to thank the service of Mumbai village we had the pleasure staff of amit and maxi taking care of us and they was amazing credit to the restaurant , he spent lots of time joking and laughing with our daughter( poppadum and lemon slices girl ) and she couldn’t stop smiling and laughing the whole way through the meal which made the meal even better experience so thank you for that, we will be returning soon thanks

First time at Mumbai Village at Burley. One word Amazing. Great food, excellent service, best sizzling starter and curry I have ever had. Gold medal standard for sure. Definatley worth a visit.

After an hours wait!! The Wrong food was sent to me,then waiter had a terrible attitude when he was told it wasn’t the food I ordered. What looked like a senior member of staff asked what was wrong. I said it’s ok.ill just leave it. I was asked in a confrontational way what happens if I don’t leave it!!!!, The food I had was nice it’s just a shame that the staff were not as good. I would never return for this reason.

What a delightful evening! Gorgeous food beautifully presented in stylish surroundings, reasonable pricing, attentive service and an atmosphere where you can hear yourselves speak. No wonder this place filled up whilst we were there, booking recommended!

I saw the claim that Mumbai Village serves the best Indian food in the area - perhaps the worst Indian food is nearer the truth.

This months curry club took us to Yeadon. We are a group of friends who go round rating curry houses. We each rate the curry house independently out of 10 for food, service, ambience, value for money and overall enjoyment. We loved it here. Mumbai village got our highest average score thus far. 43/50. A special mention for the service which went over and above anything we could have expected. A brilliant night, with brilliant food. Absolutely excellent service. Food was hot tasty & bloody lovely. Tried chicken chilli balti & it was perfect could actually taste the curry & not over powerful with the chillies. Recommend this restaurant...Best in leeds. Well done guys xx

12 quid something for 5 bits of chicken, what a joke. Order one lamb tikka and one chicken tikka. They decided to send a lamb rogan because they probably couldn’t be arsed to make a lamb tikka.

Let me start from beginning about my experience. Rude staff not even know how to talk. If u asked any recommendations waiter was making a face and rudely replied I don’t know what you will like. Unhygienic place the service bowl or kharahi I think is rusted and jet black u can’t even know it was clean or not. I will never ever will visit this place and also like to request Leeds council to inspect the place in term of health and food safety

Rude management and over worked tired staff

Very impressed by the food (May 2024). Better than several restaurants in Leeds and Otley. Service was OK. But I will be back for the food. My god, the food! Perfect chicken and prawn puri. Great saag murgh tikka handi. Roti was so fresh. Is should have asked for a box to take home. The food!!

Lovely staff make this place 5 stars Happy to adjust dishes to suit tastes and lovely food. It was a busy Friday night so quite loud already and I found the music a touch too loud when trying to chat only reason for 4 stars.

They do an outstanding chicken Bhuna. The best I have ever had. Staff very friendly too.

Called for the early bird offer on Monday. Not advertised very well - if at all! Could try harder. B- 😆 Really enjoyed the food - very good flavours. Service was pleasant and food came in good time (although wasn’t busy as such) It’s not our usual place to eat curry but will definitely consider here in the future - some competition it seems! 👍🏻

Made a booking on 9th of April for the early bird menu , booking was for 6.15 pm we arrived to see a peice of paper with scribbled on it shut for Eid , surely they knew when the booking was made just the previous day that they were in fact shut , I rang to speak to somebody who was not even bothered that they hadn’t contacted me after making the mistake nor were they bothered for ruining a planned night out , will not be booking again with them as we weren’t the only people there that had turned up for a pre booked meal so wasn’t just a one off mistake

Just had a terrible takeaway. So hot couldn't even eat it . Never again will a get food from there .

Fantastic Indian, very good quality, tasty food. Never seen so many varieties of pickles, all excellent quality. They even have strawberry lassi (though it actually tastes more like raspberry)! Highly recommended. Update 04.2024: Booked table for 2 for 7:30pm, notified 2 waiters of our arrival. Finally seated at an empty table for SIX at 7:55pm, shortly after complaining about the wait. Standard of food is still very good, but I could easily have cracked a tooth on the plum pickle - they were just plum stones in sauce. I told the waiter and he said "they're all like that" and brought me another identical one with stones as if to prove his point! My friend had to leave early and I was then moved to a table for 4 across the room (actually 2 tables for 2 joined together). Around 15 mins later I was asked if they could take one of the tables, which I could hardly say no to. But they didn't stop there. They then started messing around with the layout of my side of the room, swapping round and square tables round right in front of me, as if I wasn't there. This kind of approach to customers is more reminiscent of Fawlty Towers, except this wasn't funny. Stars deducted accordingly.

Been to this restaurant so many times. Each time I go with friends enjoy the food. Fresh Naan bread and curry amazing. Will recommend

We went for the early bird to take advantage of. Bring child free for a couple of hours. Great value deal and fantastic service. Food was served by the chef and the staff were very attentive and lovely. Food was delicious with lots of choice. A lovely atmosphere- will definitely return!

Excellent choice, catering for every taste. Amit made us feel so welcome and took the time to suggest different menu choices after we gave him our preferences with regards to taste and chilli strength. I requested a mild curry with plenty of flavour and Amit recommended a perfect dish. Highly recommend, will definitely return

Our first time here and it was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and Amit was really attentive and helpful when we were making our food choices. I always choose a vindaloo but he suggested I tried chicken peshwari for a change but made to the strength of a vindaloo and it was absolutely delicious! Can't fault anything! ☺️

Lovely fresh, tasty food and a brilliant service from Amrit and Maxi. The Goan Curry was particularly tasty. Staff were fantastic with our daughter too. Tonight was our second visit and can’t wait for next time!

Such helpful and professional staff and the food is delicious every time. Food is perfectly cooked and service is super speedy. We always seem to get Amit as our waiter who cannot do enough for us.

We went to a private birthday party at Guiseley theatre and the catering was done by Mumbai Village. The food was absolutely delicious, everyone commented how good it was. Will definitely go to the restaurant so I can enjoy their fabulous food again.

Booked a table at 8.30pm this evening. Didn’t get seated until 9pm. It’s now 9.52pm and not cleared the plates from popadoms and still not had starters. Service used to be really good here but it’s shocking.

Great evening with excellent food and friendly service, thanks to Amit and his hardworking team. The menu has something for everyone and food was delicious, special mention of the chicken liver starter! The mango lassi to finish with was the best ever.

Fabulous meals, great deal on the early bird menu. All our dishes were so yummy and great sizes. Service lovely, the waitress was very courteous and polite and the manager/owner was constantly coming round checking everyone was ok, which is a lovely personal touch. Thank you and will be back 👍🏻

Not been for a long time but heard some good things. How disappointed we were. The kheema bhuna was at least not too hot as often can happen but it was tasteless. However my wife’s chicken passander was awful . It’s supposed to be a mild creamy dish . What she got was like chicken chunks in tomato soup with a ton of chilli in. Not edible. We only had a pickle tray and main course for £ 47. Well over priced for a poor experience

It's fast becoming a Christmas Eve tradition for us to eat at Mumbai Village (we're not local, hence not visiting often.) The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff are really lovely snd especially made our children feel welcome. Hopefully, it won't be a year before we visit again!

THEY WERE GOING TO PUT SOMETHING DISGUSTING IN MY FOOD!!!!!!!! I will try to keep it short, £34.95 starter for 2 and 1 main, delivery. Sent the wrong main. Called to mention, staff on phone said, "What do you want me to do about it?" I thought I'd speak to a manager the next time I wanted a takeaway and have myself either a refund or free meal. Called on Christmas Eve. Explained previous situation, staff on phone agrees to correct mistake with free delivery and aggressively asks, "Do you want anything else in it?" I asked what he meant and he asked again if I want anything else in it?? This made me sick to my stomach, he obviously was implying they were going to put something disgusting in my food!!!!!!!!!!! I will be contacting Leeds City Council. Imagine what they do to your food if you complain!!!!!! Absolute filth!!!

We've lived in various parts of Leeds and still always come back to Mumbai Village! It's our number 1 curry restaurant, and never disappoints! Pretty sure we could order anything on the menu and enjoy it! The best range of dips and pickles as well! Yum!

We ordered a take away, and received a half a bag of cold chips, and the chicken was tough and chewy. How you even make chicken chewy, I don’t know?! It was so bad the chicken we ended up throwing it away. Never again.

Very first customers for table service at just after 5pm on a Friday. Poppadoms and drinks arrived after a short time, though no tap water. When the 2 starters came it was assumed that we were sharing between 4, but we weren't. Sizzling liver tikka...

Attentive service, meals served by chef in whites, creative food with flavour not just hot, mild, curry house fair, extensive menu not cheap but then quality never is.

Very nice food n nice service can’t fault anything. Cook to our request too also like the wine very much. Mango lassi was not my son’s favourite but that his personal preference.

Fantastic garlic mushroom starter. The curry main was a little too sweet for me and went cold very quickly. Garlic naan light and fluffy, also generous portions! Thanks for having us.

I have never been to a better restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was top notch, we felt very comfortable, without a doubt, the best restaurant I have ever visited with my family. Thank you very much for the excellent food and perfect service.

Book in advance as this isn’t a massive restaurant. Very good Indian restaurant , friendly helpful staff. Clean , comfortable seating and nicely decorated. Starters are excellent The curries we’re amazing , I just wish the portions were slightly larger. Thoroughly enjoyed my chicken tikka masala Everyone who came with me enjoyed their meals and had no complaints. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area. Parking is across the road and is free

Very disappointing. The chicken tikka makhani was really peculiar - a pink emulsion that looked like paint, and tasted very odd.

We visited Mumbai Village last night for the first time and we absolutely loved it. The restaurant is beautiful, clean and has a fantastic atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was delicious and the prices were great. I would definitely recommend visiting.

We went for dinner with grandchildren last night and the food is superb! Delicious taste and beautiful presentation. Our waiter was Amit Maxi and he was wonderful with the children and went out of his way to look after us. The Council have made a huge mistake making them take the outside dining area down, it was very professional and made the street look much better.

Visited today for a really nice tea food brilliant and service next level. Amit and Maxi are top quality for customer service always make you feel welcome and valued great assets to the restaurant thanks for the great evening. Would defo recommend

Be wary of the prices that they charge on your order. We had a bad experience on the prices invoiced not matching those on the Menu Card and the overall difference was of the order of £10. Unfortunately, not a good experience.

Took the whole family here for a birthday meal. As soon as we entered we were greeted with a friendly smile and a welcome. All the staff were very attentive and couldn't have done more for us throughout our meal. The service was excellent, especially Amit and Max, so helpful. The food was amazing too, all 7 of us were very impressed, it was all delicious! On the whole a great evening was had by all. Thank you, we'll definitely be back.

Really lovely food, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Unfortunately they don’t have a dessert menu, but the waiter kindly brought me a dish of coconut ice cream as I needed something to cleanse the palate after a very spicy machli tandoori!

Admittedly - great you are so busy - must be a sign of the food. To arrive at 7.30pm and be told we will be booked in for 8pm - go for a beer elsewhere and come back and wait until I write this review (still waiting) Shocking Have the gusto to say you can’t book and the queue is the queue - we woudn’t have waited, and gone elsewhere. Your stalling tactics just infuriate and annoy. Hope the food is worth the hour wait (if we get in) EDIT - when. We did get in the food was amazing, service great - just don’t over promise upfront guys - I would rather have come back another time and booked. Liam
