A wonderful restaurant run by equally wonderful people! I ate here regularly as a student, and itâs always my first food stop whenever I return to St. Andrews. The food is fantasticâespecially the paninisâand the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. If you're in St. Andrews, this is a spot you definitely donât want to miss!

Came in on Saturday a couple of weeks back. Sat down, offered a look at the menu. When ordering a lot of things weâre not in stock! Anytime i have came here it has not been busy so i was surprised by this. The chef who i think may also be the owner was extremely rude towards his staff and didnât care to hide it. Very odd atmosphere in there also with that added it didnât make the visit worth much in our books. The prices were not the best neither and you could pay that for a much more professional environment in a different establishment. Upon research of the owner i would probably avoid as they also failed food hygiene (available online) Would not reccomend.

The comunity bakery is a must if you are in Dunbar, every time we are in the area we use it, the selection of hot pies/sausage rolls/pasties are very good, the selection of filled rolls is also very good especially the BLT, the service is always done with a smile. Thank you Dunbar comunity bakery

We had our anniversary dinner here a while back. Drinks and food were all spot on. Had to leave early after getting a call from babysitter but they kindly put the petit fours in a lovely box that didnât look like a takeaway box and I like details like.

Having never been here before and after reading great reviews about Cote, I decided to book this for my friend and I. On arrival, we were seated immediately at a table under the air conditioning. At first, we welcomed this as it was warm outside, but by the time we left, we were both very cold. For us, the staff were very attentive and friendly and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. On the downside, we didnât think the portion sizes were adequate for main courses and our dauphinoise potatoes didnât stay warm for long. Dessert was a very disappointing size wise if Iâm honest but it was delicious. We had a bottle of wine and a cocktail each. Donât make the mistake we made and add service charge on as it has already been added on.

Service is stunning! . . . all staff we met were knowledgeable, elegantly gracious, polished yet discreetly unobtrusive. Our server, Callum, provided a proficiently responsive service. The food is ambrosial! . . . comprising seasonal dishes, locally sourced, innovatively crafted, into delectable blends of colours, textures and flavours. For example: Partridge, Pork Cheek, Red Wine & Beetroot Risotto, Garden Kale. Yummy! The layout, decor and outside garden provide a relaxed, stylish environment.

Not really the best meal. The scallop and pork belly starter was disappointing and cold. Scallops werenât really cooked well and pork belly was cold. Pumpkin puree and other sauce didnât really work. I ordered the venison and it was hands down the worst I have ever had. Extremely chewy. The waiter appeared new and when I asked if there was a Pinot nois on the wine menu he simply replied âI donât knowâ and walked away. I wouldnât go back.

The 1906 restaurant is of course situated within the 5 star Turnberry Hotel, and these surroundings undoubtedly enhance the whole dining experience. The hotel itself luxurious and is situated in an outstanding elevated position with stunning views. On arrival you may choose to enjoy an aperitif in the comfortable bar area before heading into the restaurant. We were there on a Friday night and while enjoying a well presented and delicious gin and tonic in the bar, we were unexpectedly treated to an entertaining talk on the âhaggisâ, followed by a rendition of Burnsâ âAddress to the Haggisâ, by an impressively dressed piper who also entertained us on the bagpipes. Guests were offered an âamuse boucheâ of haggis, neeps and tatties, presented in a small shot glass. Afterwards we entered 1906, the hotelâs formal dining room. This is a beautiful and spacious room with huge windows which frame the outstanding views. The tables were impeccably dressed, as one would expect. The staff were knowledgeable, thoroughly professional, and warm and friendly; without being inappropriate or intrusive. They have perfected just the right balance. My right arm was in plaster, after recently breaking my wrist in a fall. I was struggling to cut my perfectly delicious venison. Our waitress noticed this immediately and discreetly offered to assist me. My husband had noticed at the same time and took the task in hand, but I very much appreciated the waitressâ kindness and attentiveness. The food and wine were excellent and beautifully presented. Our whole experience at Turnberry compared well with the best of restaurants and hotels internationally, though of course it retains its distinctly Scottish ambiance. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would certainly recommend.
