We had an amazing experience at the Bonham. The staff is very nice, the art collection in the hotel is impressive and it is ideally located in the center of Edinburgh. Our room was very comfortable and functional. It is probably one of the most authentic hotels in the city and if you want to fully immerse yourself in a very chic and cozy Scottish atmosphere then this hotel is for you. Cocktails are delicious and my only regret is that we were never able to have dinner at the restaurant (they don’t keep tables for the clients of the hotel and you have to book in advance). Also LGBT+ friendly.

I just returned from a wonderful stay at the Bonham. The staff and service couldn’t have been more pleasant. The rooms and decor of the hotel were perfect for a wintery weekend in Edinburgh . My favorite aspect was the 24 hour serviced bar in the beautiful bar room. And I would like to personally thank the night staff who found my passport which has slipped out of the pages of the book and handed this in the the front desk to save me a last minute nightmare! Will definitely return when I am next in Edinburgh. Than you!

Great place shame you don't take dogs anymore

Beautiful location only 10 minutes walk from the centre makes The Bonham the perfect place. Lucas was incredibly attentive and professional. The rooms are, as expected incredible and perfectly preserved. The decor throughout the hotel is pristine, where most hotels fail, The Bonham wins. The breakfast is cooked fresh with choices for all, continental, cooked, kippers, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you plan on visiting Edinburgh, look at The Bonham. Glasgow, worth a visit in the train is £16 return and takes approximately 40 minutes. Thanks to everyone at The Bonham for making our stay, perfect

Wonderful hotel, probably one of the best in Edinburgh, walking distance from the old town and most sightseeing, but in a very quiet neighbourhood. Spacious and well-equipped room, the complete hotel is well maintained and the lounge and dining are also recommended. This will be my place to stay in Edinburgh.

The word that best describes this hotel is luxurious . We stayed in the Junior suite it was opulent, the view from our window was amazing . From the moment you entered the Hotel our experience was fantastic ,quiet Hotel ,short stroll to main attractions ,delicious food , areas to relax and enjoy a coffee ,just loved it I wish our first stay was at the Boham instead of the Intercontinental Hotel

Everything we hoped for and more — a superb location walkable to the old and new town, clean and beautiful rooms with stunning views of the city, and extra special touches, such as refreshing lemon water in the lobby, welcome drinks 🥂, shortbread in the room, and delicious breakfast in the elegant dining room. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and inviting, with Natalie, Felix, and Lukas offering fantastic recommendations and a friendly welcome each day. The Bonham made our trip unforgettable!

Reserved a suite or superior room 6 months in advance and got a room in the dungeon. The place is nice, but the accommodations suck.

The visit to the restaurant left a bitter taste , why were we not offered a table when there were 2 free tables ? Through the evening the restaurant was never fully booked .in the morning the manager spoke with us at breakfast and offered apologies and a reduction on our bill , when we checked out the reception staff said there was no more yo be done other than the 50% reduction after our complaint at tte end of the evening. Having already paid the bill minus gratuity !

We have eaten many times at the Bonham over the years, latterly usually the Boozy Snoozy. But this time we had dinner. Our main beef was the price, around £200. Some bits of the meal were good, the highlight being beautifully cooked halibut though the salad and veg alongside not nearly so good. We ordered cheese to share to end and received 2 tiny bits of unremarkable cheddar and hard soft cheese, Brie I think. Very poor. Our waitress was pleasant but poorly trained, didn’t pour our wine, ask if we needed anything, didn’t know answers to questions. The place was very quiet so poor ambience and it was a Saturday night. Please go to the Bonham but opt for the snoozy boozy at lunchtime where you’ll get almost the same meal for a fraction of the price!

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood that is within walking distance of dining, coffee shops and a fifteen min walk to popular tourist spots. The staff were all kind,helpful and attentive to all we needed. Something to be aware of is that ( we visited in early May) the rooms are heated by a radiator system and there was a heated towel rack in our bathroom. At first we didn’t realized we could turn the heat down at the radiator itself and the room was quite warm. A fan was provided for use, ours was in the wardrobe. By keeping the bathroom door closed and using the fan we were quite comfortable. I never tried to turn the heat down on the towel rack but it probably is possible. It was truly a lovely experience and the breakfasts in the morning were outstanding. Everything from cook to order meals to an extremely generous cold breakfast selection.

Restaurant atmosphere is quiet and food was ok. Orders management can improve, 3 times we were delivered items that we did not ordered, starters, drinks and bill.

We went for the Chateaubriand & it didn't disappoint. The beef was delicious & cooked to perfection, the accompaniments were all good including the wine. The service was friendly & efficient.

Always enjoy an afternoon Birthday tea at The Bonham. If you like to be able to chat & hear each other, white crisp table cloth’s & excellent, but not in your face service then look no further. A hidden away gem

We had booked afternoon tea and prosecco, the ambiance is excellent calm and friendly, however the meal was a little disappointing, the sandwiches were made many hours before and the bread use soft and full of fluid, the sourdough used was difficult to eat, the other aspects very acceptable

Fabulous hotel. Staff were lovely & it's only a 5 minute walk to the centre.

Food is fantastic and so tasty rooms are large and bright fantastic service. If your staying here and coming from the airport use the tram get off after haymarket and it is 5 minutes walk.

Overall good value and food but service staff, although very pleasant, could have been a bit more organised.

Had snoozy boozie lunch with my hubby for my birthday. Three courses plus bottle of wine is excellent value. Every table in the restaurant is good. We were warmly greeted when we arrived, decided on a chilled glass of champagne while we choice our meal. Good range for each course and lovely wine options. Very attentive service throughout & lovely relaxed ambience. Everything was first class. Finally enjoyed coffee & cocktails in the stunning bar. Highly enjoyable afternoon.

We had a very good meal with quiet but efficient service. My only comment would be that coat storage is a bit of a squeeze to say the least. Has been that way for years at the Bonham. I'm sure it could b improved though. People do wear coats in winter.

The New Year's Eve dinner was excellent. However, whilst the waiting staff were friendly , there was obviously a shortage of staff, which made the experience in ordering and being served strained. There was no space on our table for the wine to be comfortably placed, and when we asked for a stand, we were told there were none, so the wine had to be kept away from our table at the end of the room. There was a wedding reception at the other part of the hotel, therefore guests spilling out of it to the lounge and bar area meant that seating was compromised for diners wishing an after meal drink or coffee, and perhaps to see in the Bells. I do think that there should have been discussion on managing two large events to ensure service and space was not minimised to give precedence to the wedding party.

Good food, with excellent views anf atmosphere in an old historic building. The staff was friendly and the meal, despite being a Boxing Day special set, was of excellent value with half a bottle of house wine included per person.

We had a lovely meal, served in your beautifully decorated dining room. Service was chatty but efficient and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The service was slow. The starter was cold but very tasty but the main course was pretty bad. The turkey was dried out. The stuffing couldn’t be tasted. The potatoes were tough and very difficult to cut into and the Brussels sprouts were raw.

Have been going to No. 35 throughout the year for a number of years now. A group of friends always gather before Christmas and have a great time catching up. This year though the consensus was that the meal was a little disappointing....the starter portion was small - and obviously prepared in advance and sitting waiting as it was served very quickly after the order was taken; the turkey didnt have much taste with some potatoes undercooked. For me the cheese platter was disappointing too with only two 'bland' cheeses. We all came away from the meal still feeling hungry and disappointed. This is the first time I've had to use the word 'disappointed'. I still recommend No 35...the service is wonderful and the staff are wonderful but the Christmas dinner off was not on par as other years. I don't want to leave the table still feeling hungry.

Excellent venue for annual Christmas catch up with old friends. We like the lack of music so we can have a conversation and the food is great - although folk in the group mentioned they would like to have Christmas pudding on the menu! We'll be back next year - God willing!

Lovely ambience and good service. Not great value for money. We chose the turkey dinner. The meat and the potatoes in particular were rather hard and dry.

Beautiful restaurant. Have dined here several times and each time found service extremely slow. Fortunately this has not caused us a problem, but, should be better. Staff always very pleasant. Food served nicely.

Coming to The Bonham with my friends for the Festive Menu is always an absolute highlight of my Christmas. We do it every year and it never disappoints: lovely food with classy service in the most beautiful of surroundings. And all for a very reasonable price. I could not recommend this more highly.

I had the Festive Boozy Snoozy lunch, and it was delicious. It was also a relaxed experience, which I really enjoyed, and I felt like I had time to enjoy the meal and the ambience with no rush. Perfect service.

Another lovely lunch at The Bonham. It's so very comfortable, food is excellent, and the staff are lovely. No sense of being rushed, very relaxed, and good value.

We have always been really delighted when we’ve dined at Bonhams…… sadly after our experience today the bubble has burst. When we booked we weren’t advised that it would be the Christmas menu which was significantly more expensive than the usual Boozy Snoozy offering. While the presentation was very impressive sadly the quality nor the quantity matched that. The food was lukewarm and it was obvious that the attention had very much been on presentation over substance. There were no stand out dishes and I doubt we will be returning any time soon.

The restaurant is very tastefully decorated retailing the tradition features of the lovely old building. Lots of space , no background music ( a real positive for me ) . Staff were all very attentive and friendly. Top quality food and included bottle of wine made it great value .

The Bonham is a little out of town. However, for a little walk, it’s like finding an oasis🙏🏻. Decor is beautiful. Staff very attentive. They had live music when we were there (perfect). The food was absolutely divine. The venison just melted in my mouth (complements to chef). A wonderful evening all round. Well done guys.

Having visited the Bonham on many occasions I was very disappointed with the portion size of the main course. The food is delicious as always and the staff are very friendly and helpful and it is no reflection on them. But I feel that with the increased prices over the last few years it has become less attractive to dine there or recommend it to friends and family.

Booked the Bonham Boozy Snoozy for my son’s 27th birthday . It was his first visit and he was really impressed with the whole experience. We were a party of 4 booked at 13:00 and remained at the Bonham bar until about 18:30 it was a great day. The food an service was excellent.

As always we had a lovely time at The Bonham. We had the Afternoon Tea with Bellini and it was delicious. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The decor and furnishing of the lounge are so comfortable and of the highest standard. We look forward to returning at Xmas.

My friend and I enjoyed a delicious 'Bellini' afternoon tea to celebrate her birthday. We had a window table in a spacious and attractive lounge. We were each given our own cake stand, perhaps because I'm vegetarian. There were sandwiches (sourdough bread), a small filled roll, two small scones with jam and cream, and four mini 'sweet treats', like caramel éclairs and raspberry squares. My Bellini cocktail (prosecco and peach) was tasty and my friend enjoyed her mocktail. After we had finished, the waiter brought a birthday surprise for her - three petit fours on a plate with 'happy birthday' written in chocolate icing. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the service. Although the waiters were friendly and polite, we had to wait half an hour before the first drinks appeared, and my friend was initially given a Bellini when she had ordered a mocktail. We then had to wait another 10 minutes or so for her drink to arrive, and the food. I was told there was no decaff Earl Gray, but I could have decaff breakfast tea but I got Earl Gray which I suspect was not decaff.

The meal was tasty, value for money. The settings were tranquil and had stunning views from the restaurant. Overall very pleased with our special anniversary day celebrations. Thank you Bonham hotel.

Four of us had the Boost Snoozy lunch on my husband's birthday. The food and wine were excellent and the staff very attentive. The No 35 dining room is so attractive and certainly adds to the enjoyment.

We were given a private dining room which suited our party of 6 perfectly. The menu, although fairly restricted in choice, had something for everyone. The quality of the food and it's presentation was excellent. Service was well timed and at no stage were we either rushed or concerned about a delay. Staff were extremely pleasant engaged with our party.

Great place to have a lunch. Lovely dining room, good service and delicious food. Very good value at £35 for a three course meal with wine.

Everything about this was first class and I cannot fault the staff nor the food and drink. I will certainly repeat the experience.

I introduced my mother to this restaurant for a special meal. She was delighted with her choice and I very much enjoyed mine too. Just a tiny blip from the waiting staff who accidentally brought us the wrong dessert. It was only just as my mother noticed that one of the waiting staff appeared to say the same and offered to swap out what we had for the correct dish, but we were happy enough to continue with what we had. Just for that, my 5 stars for service dropped to 4, but otherwise, they were friendly and efficient. This is my third visit to this restaurant and I hope to return.

Amazing afternoon tea experience in a polished and elegant yet comfortable and casual setting.

Afternoon tea at the Bonham was very disappointing. The service was slow, but the food was not appropriate. Wholemeal buns filled with aubergine and courgette, thickly cut bread filled with a thin slice of ham was not what you would expect for afternoon tea. A dessertspoonful of clotted cream between two was inadequate, but the cake selection was good. We had 17% deducted from our bill after we complained. Compared to other establishments this experience was poor.

Beautiful venue, good food, well presented. Pork chop a little tricky to eat, said some. Apple ice cream gorgeous!

One of the best afternoon teas I’ve had! Gorgeous, quiet & beautiful setting. Very comfortable chairs & table at the right height for eating. Plenty refills of tea. Loose tea choice. I liked the bigger selection of savoury, choice of 2 types of scones & then finishing with miniature cake selections. The glass of fizz was very tasty too!

We had a fabulous night at No35 at the Bonham. The food was fabulous. Elegant and refined. Our waitress Lauren was absolutely fabulous. She accommodated the Vegan amongst us, helped the ones among us who were a bit intimidated by venue and generally very helpful! We shall go back!

Attentive service, relaxed ambience and good food. The ‘boozy snoozy’ lunch offer is excellent value. Food was delicious especially roasted cod with seafood boulabaise. Not totally convinced by pea pannacotta. ?
