Food is spectacular. Everyone is extremely friendly and polite, constantly ensuring your every need is met. They have the best espresso martini in Europe (my personal opinion).

Me and my partner chose to go here as they have Gluten Free menu options which is fantastic, but as I also suffered with IBS and SIBO I asked if they could make a few extra changes to my dish. Phillip was so kind, patient and understanding and he accommodated my intolerance requests which made me feel so happy and grateful. Both Phillip and Pavel were very helpful and their customer service was impeccable. Highly recommend going here as the food is exquisite 😊👌🌟.

The place is beautiful and the food is great. Alvaro was the perfect host for our business dinner, with good recommendations and an excellent customer service. Will definitely go back.

3 friends for my birthday. We had a lovely meal. We chose the 2 course menu which was great value for money. Starters of White Bate, Salad and Parfait. Mains of Mushroom Cassoulet woth sausage, Steak Frittes and Seabeam. We all loved our food. The wine was great. The manager then bought out a glass of bubbles for each of us to celebrate my birthday . Wow awesomeness.. We will be back

We have the best dinner here during our visit to Edinburgh. The service and dinners were fabulous. Deserts were a special treat.

Wonderful experience! We loved it! We were attended to by a Spanish guy who gave us some brutal recommendations. He was very attentive throughout the service and we felt very well taken care of. Very very good food and spectacular service.

Early dinner at a restaurant we go to frequently. Our first visit since it was revamped inside. Attentive staff, good food. If you know the chain, you know what to expect. The new booths are a bit tight for the less svelte amongst us!

Food was great and well presented. Starters of calamari- lovely light batter and warm beetroot salad. Tuna in tuna nicoise seared and perfectly cooked. Boeuf bourginon excellent but needed side of chips for a larger appetite. Service was good though there was a delay with drinks ordered to accompany main courses. Once this was questioned they were promptly brought and not charged to the bill. Drinks were expensive-£5.60 for a 330ml lager. Apart from that we’d come back. Food and service good.

I was very underwhelmed by the food considering the price. We were being served by an italian girl who was very friendly and welcoming, we had zero complaints about her, it was mainly the food. We initially tried to order steak tartare, which they had ran out of (unfortunately), so my partner ordered the scalops for starter and 5oz steak frites, I ordered the cheese souffle and sirloin steak done medium well. The time it took to prepare the food was long and when it arrived the cheese soufflé was bland and then came the major disappointment; the sirloin was one of the worst steaks I've ever eaten in a restaurant. It just was just so dry, there wasn't much flavour, I bit into it and it was chewy, dry, had a weird texture and it was difficult to swallow, then my partner tried it and we both shared the same opinion. I reluctantly told the staff and they offered to prepare another, which was good. The thing i didnt appreciate was the manager trying to tell me it was my fault for requesting medium-well, she said i should ask for medium. I did, but, again it was not great. Considering rhe steak is like £27 I would have expected a better standard. I make a better steak myself and considering the price I would never go back. One thing I will say is that my partners thin cut steak was ok, but again I think it could have been better. I've had well done steaks more suculant than this. I recommend you try your steaks to offer better customer experience.

Wide selection of wines. Reasonably priced 2-course and 3-course meals. Superb and accommodating service. Clean restrooms.

We got asked for feedback but we forgot to do the QR code on our bill. Our server was Callum S who looked after us very well. We sat at the end of the restaurant in a lovely and quiet spot. Everything was prompt, apart the food took a while to arrive to us, everywhere looked busy so it was fine to wait. Callum checked on us to tell us an apology and that it won’t be long to arrive and offered us new drinks. We really enjoyed our food when it came and enjoyed our service so much

The Eggs Royale breakfast here was my favorite breakfast of our stay Edinburgh! And the staff is very friendly staff.

I loved coming here especially for the GF choice on offer. However since the stopped taking cash and went “card only”, I refuse to go back. Cash is king so use it or lose it!!!!

Amazing atmosphere and really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately I hear you will be card only in the future, and this does not resonate with us. Customers should be giving the option of using their cash. My elderly grandparents love to eat out, and I recommended your restaurant, but as non card users it won't be an option for them. Hope you reconsider your decision to be inclusive to all the general public.

I used to use this restaurant quite a lot until they went card only. No way will I shop or eat anywhere that refuses my hard earned cash that's in my purse. So dissapointed that one of my favourite restaurants went down this route. CASH IS KING!

I stopped in the for an early morning coffee and chocolate croissant before catching the train. What a pleasant experience! It was the BEST coffee I had in Edinburgh, and the chocolate croissant was delicious. The host, Phillip was so kind and welcoming, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him!

Cote will be closing for renovations for 3 weeks. Hoping sincerely when they re-open they review the toxic policy of 'cashless' payments only. Wanted to leave a tip for the staff yesterday and was told 'NO CASH'. VERY toxic route for a French restaurant no less.

Really disappointing meal with friends, only 1 beer of 5 available from the drinks menu. Wait of 35 minutes for our meal to arrive which was wrong. Steaks cooked incorrectly & sauces which did not arrive despite asking the waiter several times. General feeling that the staff couldn’t care less. Would certainly not visit again.

Went there for dinner today. We frequently visited the Glasgow restaurant while it was still open, but this time it did not live up to expectations in the different venue. For one thing- you could just feel the kitchen was understaffed, waiting staff were also very stressed out, the place was very busy and guests were complaining on their orders ( for a reason). I'm not sure what's happening with the place, but management need to take care of their people and the quality of products served. We waited 40+ minutes for 2 salads and got a meal that was not prepared with fresh products- which did neither justify the price tag, or the time it took.

Excellent food but needed to be sent back for re-heating. Staff are great, very friendly and helpful.

50 minutes waiting for a dessert that never arrived. My wife was served my steak and I hers. Rude waitress telling me to wait a mo when I have already been waiting for 40 minutes. Even had the cheek to put a service charge on the bill- which I refused. Won't be back

loved the breakfast, especially the croissant, which was absolutely amazing. It was clear that only high-quality ingredients were used, making every bite delicious! The only thing missing is the coconut milk.

The food was excellent steaks done perfectly and the birthday boy had duck Al orange. First time in for food. We have been several times for wine, which you have an excellent selection of. The team were very attentive and very welcoming We will definitely be back. :-)

The food took 45 minutes to arrive. The avocado toast with eggs was bland and the french toast came burnt. All in all a disappointing experience for the price.

Great visit to côte this evening, the food was great and we were given a lovely warm welcome on arrival. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and I'd happily eat here again

WORST MEAL of our trip. It is overpriced and not worth the money. I ordered steak that comes with fried and salad. The steal and fried were small. They gave me a bunch of parsley with no dressing and called it a salad. Don't spend your hard earned money here !

Visited here with my partner while on a weekend away in Edinburgh last month and I have to say we had a wonderful time. Although it was a Saturday night and very busy the service was absolutely excellent, staff were friendly and attentive and the food was amazing, would highly recommend .

One of my favorite places to eat, sadly no more. gone the woke, exclusive, 'CARD ONLY' route, it is simply not possible to pay with cash. So so so bad. Just lost a customer, and many more as long as this absolute, prejudicial nonsense of 'cash-less' continues.

Wonderful staff and delicious food

Read positive reviews about this restaurant so we decided to try it ourselves and we were not disappointed. Firstly the staff are super attentive, friendly and so good. The food is first class with a great selection on offer. One of our diners was coeliac which was very well catered for with a separate menu. Overall I would thoroughly recommend, great atmosphere, well done, a fabulous meal.

Came here for lunch and love the food and the service was fantastic too, will definitely recommend.

Came here for a quick drink mid day. mostly because we had to go to the toilet. The manager (younger gentleman) gave us a table for 30 minutes because the place was fully booked. Big coke bottles with ice and lemon, this is why i give 5 stars for food. Place looked clean so 5 stars atmosphere. Service 2 stars because an older employee was really pushy and annoying, even while printing the bill, he obviously didn’t want us being there, even though we had fulfilled the dresscode. This treatment gave us a bit of a sour taste, that is why the full experience is a 3/5 for us.

SMALL PORTIONS !! Have been to Cote many times before and always enjoyed good food . However tonight the portions were microscopic, stingy amount of cheese on the bread with half a ladle of cold onion soup .Service was friendly but won't I won't go back .

Our meals were spectacular! They have a complete gluten-free menu with some delectable offerings. They take food allergies very seriously which was an absolute must. The restaurant was quite charming, loud yet intimate, and the staff was attentive. I had the Fish Parmentier and now need to make it at home to share the delightfully light, yet filling dish. No one at our table had any complaints. I take that back… my teenage son was complaining that he liked it so much he wanted more. That is high praise as he’s a discerning eater. I hope other places we try are as good or better. If not, we’ll be back again.

We visited during the Edinburgh Festival and attempted to book dinner prior to attending the Tattoo. It was busy and we had to settle for a table upstairs at 5pm although we tried to book a couple of days before! The room was vast and, until it filled up with other diners, it was a little souless! We were very well looked after by the serving staff and the food was well presented, well cooked and delivered quickly - as one has come to expect from a Cote!

Had a fantastic meal with friends here. Food and service were excellent. Cannot wait to go back

We were here on September 7th at 6:15 p.m. table 56 and both got the Weekends a la Cote (25 per person). The food was delicious, the meats were done perfectly to order. Sauces were excellent. Only downside was the sides were all lukewarm at best. Did this have to do with us being in the upstairs room and it took longer to bring the food? Great concept and a perfect size for two. Bottle of wine was very reasonably priced, with an excellent selection. Service was superb, just the right amount of attention, very knowledgeable about the menu and great enhanced our visit. Highly recommended and we look forward to a return visit!

This is simply a fantastic hidden gem of a restaurant.. have walked past so many times.. but we booked as it was close to our show venue. What a delight from start to finish. The staff were amazing. The food was exceptional. Was gutted that we had something booked as I would of loved to have lingered over a dessert and a cheese board. Will 100% be back. 👏

This the 3rd time we have visited a Cote restaurant in the Uk and I rate this the best food experience in comparison to the others and quite possibly the best food experience we have had in the UK. The staff were warm and welcoming and very attentive to our food allergies, making us feel comfortable with our menu choices. And the food was delightful from the shared Baked Camembert entree to our main courses of Confit Duck a l’Orange and Poulet Breton Roti. They were all superb.

Popped in for a meal before a show at the fringe. The food was lovely but just missing that wow factor. I got the scallops to start and they looked as if they had been halved and were served on a bed of peas that would have done for 3 portions. They were delicious but definitely had me wanting more. Had the sirloin and chips for main accompanied by a glass of wine and it was lovely.

A hidden gem for early breakfast! As a tourist, I was glad to find this beautiful restaurant open at 7am while most cafes in the area don’t open until 8 or 10 am. The French breakfast was fantastic with black pudding in it. Huge kudos to Miguel who served us and took the time to inform us about the ingredients in the dish that we might not like. He was super friendly and attentive, which made our breakfast more enjoyable! I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast.

Excellent Sirloin steak. Breton chicken is excellent.

A nice spot. The attention paid to my wife's allergies was most appreciated, however, there's little to be done for custom prearation here, and the only choice wound down to the Nicoise salad dish, which for an advertised seafood spot was a little letdown. My beef bourguignon was tasty. A solid choice in the Old Town area.

This wasn't a good meal unfortunately. The menu is so promising which makes it all the more disappointing! The staff seemed really distracted and at some points unprofessional, they were clearly under pressure and this was felt in the atmosphere of the restaurant which was neither relaxing nor calm. There were just so many issues with the food - wilted and sad herbs as garnish, tiny plates that barely fit the food, 'herb crust' on a roast chicken that just didn't exist and a sauce jug with more Diane sauce in the side than in the jug. Food incredibly mediocre, won't be returning or recommending Côte.

Some very strange service off the staff. When entering the restaurant we were told to wait for a while then another member of staff (the boss) came up and told us there were no tables. We were confused because we had waited a while with no communication. They then seated us at 2 tables and then moved one of the tables again. When ordering the waiter kept getting confused and left the table. I asked for poached eggs and I got scrambled eggs. The food was very good quality and the champagne brunch was worth the price.

The atmosphere is stylish and nice. As we entered the door, we were informed that the food could be cooked in 20 minutes because the kitchen was busy. We placed our orders, but when the breakfast arrived, it had been 50 minutes. Also, the orders of the tables that ordered after us arrived before us. It was not nice. The plates were below our expectations, the portions were small. .We asked for a poached egg and we received a cooked egg, not a poached one.

We had just finished seeing a Fringe Festival show and returning from the show after 1pm we saw a Cote Restaurant and decided to have lunch there. A good decision and my 4 star review is based on us only having a relatively light lunch. The staff were excellent and the menu was broad enough to offer several light lunches. I opted for two starters and my partner decided on the Tuna Nicoisse which she said was great. My starters of French Onion Soup and a Cheese Soufflé were both delicious and were washed down by sparkling water.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. They have a dedicated Gluten Free menu filled with so many delicious choices. All the food is marked with a little flag that says GLUTEN FREE 🆓 I had the French onion soup, the steak and frites as well as the most delicious chocolate mousse 😋😋😋😋 Great and friendly staff 🙏🏻 Highly recommend if you are ever in Edinburgh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I wish we lived closer. This would be our regular place to eat out. The waiting staff who served us were very polite and attentive, and nothing was a problem for them. They know what they're doing. Thank you, Migual(?) We ordered from the GF menu, which had a reasonably varied selection. I got the impression they prefer to provide proper homemade food rather than chemical laden UPF's, although I did avoid ordering anything with GF bread. I had the scallops for starter and beef cheek bourguignon for main. Both were absolutely amazing! And the glass of house red was very smooth. I had a little taste of minute steak from my wife's plate, and that was very tasty too, fresh off the grill. The price was quite reasonable considering location and quality of food and service. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and we'll be returning to eat there the next time we're in Edinburgh.

Went twice, both times the waiter had a bad attitude towards my family and I. Imagine the waiter handing you the menu while standing pretty far (on a step higher than us) and waiting us to grab the menu from their hands. The second visit we left, before completing our order, due to the cheap service and servants.

Great place to eat for selection, service, and location

Visited many times for breakfast, today the food was awful, ordered fried egg, was presented with scrambled, the menu offered sauteed potatoes, we had half a plate of boiled potatoes, brick hard bread not sure why they have changed this menu but it certainly wasn't breakfast.

Excellent dining experience Popped in for a steak with the mrs and couple mates, food was great and service was faultless, we were a bit rowdy as on an all day sesh but the staff put up with us with no problem Good selection of wines too would happily come back

We were 7 people and ordered 3 dishes, 2 fish and the rest meat, medium on the meat but 2 were well fried 1 like a ski bake/shoe sole. Had to return the food then wait. They apologized several times, but I think that if they charge well for the food, they should also be shown on the plate. A lot of clatter from the counter while we were sitting and eating, which we have not experienced anywhere else. The tip was already baked into the bill. Maybe a bad day for them but we won't be going back unfortunately

One of the worst breakfasts I had in my whole life. Old bread, hollandaise and spinach that tastes like nothing. Would definitely not recommend. Also the restaurant looks dirty, cups and tables are dirty, as well it is dusty everywhere.

We were wondering why we could spontaneously get a table at a Saturday morning for 5 people. Food was very blunt, not seasoned and not well presented. The bread seemed to be old and dry too. Tables and dishes were a little dirty. Service was good.

Came here for lunch - had the sirloin steak. The steak itself was tasty and well made but it came with a small portion of french fries and a handful of parsley. I was missing something refreshing on my plate against the salty and savoury meat. The portion of fries was disproportionate to the amount of meat. Service was friendly, no complaints. Atmosphere was good

The food was unbelievable! The Mushroom Bourguignon may have been the best I have ever had. Also, our server Adam was excellent all around and extraordinarily attentive to our complex dietary needs!

Eggs Benedict were pretty good - not the best I've had, but very respectable.

We were made very welcome by a lovely friendly waiter. The breakfast menu had lots of choice, and the fresh juice was refreshing and cold. My French toast was yummy, and the coffee was great. Lovely enjoyable experience.

French-inspired restaurant, with a calm and elegant atmosphere. Excellent food, particularly pleasant welcome that makes you want to come back! As French people, we were simply amazed.
