Cote Brasserie - Glasgow in Glasgow City

Having never been here before and after reading great reviews about Cote, I decided to book this for my friend and I. On arrival, we were seated immediately at a table under the air conditioning. At first, we welcomed this as it was warm outside, but by the time we left, we were both very cold. For us, the staff were very attentive and friendly and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. On the downside, we didn’t think the portion sizes were adequate for main courses and our dauphinoise potatoes didn’t stay warm for long. Dessert was a very disappointing size wise if I’m honest but it was delicious. We had a bottle of wine and a cocktail each. Don’t make the mistake we made and add service charge on as it has already been added on.

For some time, this has been my preferred place to meet up with friends, such a central location. So so sad that Cote is closing. Wishing all staff the best of luck going forward 👍 many thanks, nae greetin!

Food was usual Cote menu & was fine but restaurant gloomy & lacky atmosphere. Disappointing as we have usual enjoyed meals at other Cote branches

Fantastic birthday meal on Saturday 10th June. Great atmosphere in the restaurant, friendly and accommodating staff. All dishes were excellently cooked and extremely tasty.

Visited Cote Glasgow for Lunch and as always wasn't disappointed. This is the first time eating there, having eaten at quite a few other Cote's around the country. A great choice of dishes especially for my wife who is celiac, with their separate gluten-free menu, I wish other restaurants would do the same. Both really enjoyed the food. Waiter went above and beyond when my wife mentioned she had a sore back and he got her a folded blanket which helped ease the pain. Sad news that the restaurant is closing Sunday 25th June, due to some mix-up with the lease, hopefully, they will reopen somewhere else in Glasgow soon.

I went for our anniversary meal with my boyfriend & we had a nice time. We both got the french onion soup, he got the orange duck & I got the beef bourguignon. Absolutely loved the french onion soup. Food was tasty. Why did we give this place a 4 out of 5 instead of a 5 out of 5? Personally, I didn’t find the service unfriendly but I didn’t find it as friendly as what I’ve found at other places, there didn’t appear to be much in terms of small conversation, it was quite robotic but as I say not unfriendly. Secondly, my boyfriend felt the duck orange was cooked well but he was expecting the orange taste to be stronger. Overall, it was good and we would return though.

Good choice on set menu. Reasonably priced. Food which was all delicious was delivered promptly by friendly staff.

Had a family dinner here for my 60th, the service was amazing, Grace looked after us very well and remembered us from a previous visit. Nothing was too difficult for all of the staff, had a few starters and charcuterie to start with which were all lovely, the new cheese soufflé is a must try for cheese lovers. the cote de beef was cooked to perfection and all of the other dishes were very much appreciated by the group. highly recommended for consistent high standard of French cuisine and good service. With a reasonable selection of wine at a few different price points.

We had a birthday meal here and it was superb..the staff were friendly, attentive and the ambience was brilliant..we received a complimentary glass of cremant in arrival as it was the day of my birthday. We had the sharing platter as a starter, the cote de bought for the main course and the sharing cheese board platter for dessert. The whole meal was fabulous..we ordered the steak rare and it came exactly as ordered which is hard to get from our experiences. I would highly recommend this place for a special meal

We arrived very early for our booking to a busy restaurant but were seated immediately. Calamari delicious, large portions. Beef cheek very tender and well cooked. Breton Chicken very well marinated and dauphinois potatoes perfect. Good choice of desserts and coffees. Relaxing atmosphere in which to spend a Sunday evening.

Whilst the service was pleasant and quick, the food tasty and gluten free choice varied I was very disappointed at the portion size… 3 prawns in the £9 starter… and one very small chicken breast on the £15 main and 2 very small scoops of ice cream at £6… I felt robbed when a bill for £97 came.

I am a HUGE Cote fan - have gone on a regular basis for years with friends & family in Glasgow & London. Most recently in December Visited last night with friends & was embarrassed as I chose to eat there & booked telling them it was great tasty food, great value & great wines. - food was bland, not great, not a lot of it - they only had 3 types of gin - drinks were slow to come & had to be chased on 3 occasions - restaurant was only at best half full, so no idea why we had to continually chase drinks that did not arrive. I really don't enjoy posting this review as previously I have always enjoyed the food & had a good dining experience - liked the set menu & a la carte choice. It looks like maybe the cost of living crisis has hit the chef & recipes/ingredients/quality have dipped significantly. None of my friends had previously been to Cote so not a great experience for them on my recommendation

Absolutely amazing brunch with my partner. The food was to die for. Service was fantastic, an absolute must if you are in Glasgow.

I was refused access with guide dog - something about “not taking pets” was the message . Despite explaining what the law says we had to leave . Will not set foot in another Cote Brasserie, not worth the humiliation.

Reasonable food, nice service. Calamri could have been seasoned better, tomatoes tasted like they'd been kept in the fridge. Frites were soggy not crispy and creme brulee was eggy not custardy. Burger, crab and chicken salad was good and staff were friendly and accommodating.

Went on a Monday evening, was very quiet but food and wine were lovely. Pate and prawns for starters, both were super. Then a fish dish and belly pork for mains which again were really tasty. Clean plates all round.

Great spot for brunch. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Food is lovely and decent sized portions. Nice atmosphere every time I have been in. Decor is nice too. Need to try a la cadre menu.

We had a very lovely early dinner here. All 3 courses were great, and the gluten free selection for my husband was outstanding. The staff were wonderful and helpful.

We had a lovely meal in a lively and relaxed atmosphere, my daughter had the fillet steak which she claimed was the "best meal ever" The staff were attentive and very friendly. Definitely returning when we go back to Glasgow

Met my cousin in Cote, we were only ment to stay for a drink but the staff where so friendly we decided to stay for dinner. I had the swordfish which was excellent, my cousin had steak and chips which was cooked to perfection. Great food great wine great atmosphere. I had the chocolate mousse to finish which is worth a trip on its own. Will be going back. The manager Claire was very helpful and able to advise on the menu and wine.

I’m not really in the habit of checking restaurant bills unless I feel that it is excessive for what I’ve had which is how I felt after eating in here , I’ve no real complaints about the food or the service , both of which were no better than average I might add , however my poor review of this place is centred around the service charge that they automatically add to your bill..... was it worth over £200 including drinks for 4 of us ? Definitely not , and unfortunately I didn’t look at the bill until the next morning , that is when I discovered that they had helped themselves to 12.5 % tip ... add that to the £20 cash tip that we left and we have now tipped them over 40 quid . This feels like nothing short of deceit as far as I’m concerned and I wonder how many other people are tricked the way I was . On principle alone I will not be back .

We regularly visit Cote in the mornings and can comfortably say it is one of the best places for a morning coffee in the city centre. Grace, Maria, Angie & the team are always on point and very friendly all hours of the day along with attentive service, it always makes foe a good start to the day. Coupled with the speed service and calibre of the product its always a good place to start the day.

We had dinner at Cote and chose the A la Carte menu. We have eaten here a lot and always find it reliable and the customer service usually excellent. On this occasion the food was delicious. Nothing not to enjoy and an exceptional creme caramel. French beer was excellent and a blood orange cocktail very moreish. Our waiter was charming and attentive. The only small blip was a slightly odd waitress who served our starters by throwing them at us and then seemed to vanish! Well we all have our off days! ...

Food generally ok. Main issue was with attitude of serving staff. I suppose for a French restaurant being rude may be considered atmospheric, but actually the staff were just rude. Left no tip as a result.

We visited cote again last night.The food was delicious and although it was extremely busy the service was excellent so a big thank you to Gorie and the rest of staff for looking after us so well. This was our first visit and won't be our last! We took their January early dinner deal and was the best value for money! The service was first class and we especially want to thank Gregory for this! Visited Cote for dinner on New Year’s Eve. Our booking was at short notice and I was surprised to get a table but I was even more surprised to see how quiet it was on such an occasion as Hogmanay in Glasgow. That said, there were enough covers to create a buzz and with good music in the background there was a great atmosphere in the place. The staff contributed to that atmosphere - warm, welcoming and friendly, the service was exceptional on the night. The food was really good too. The fixed-price menu was the only option because it was Hogmanay but the choices for all 3 courses were mouthwatering. We both opted for fillet steaks as our main course and they were fabulous, cooked to perfection - tender and tasty. It had been a while since we’d been here for dinner and we agreed not to leave it so long before returning again. All in all a great way to see out 2019 and look forward to 2020.

Cote on West Nile Street, consistently serves up tasty, well priced food. There’s always a welcoming atmosphere and the staff is competent and friendly. Special shout out, and big thanks to lovely Grace, for looking after myself, my husband and our granddaughter today.

Fantastic for lunch! Set menu is great! Had french onion soup, grilled chicken in a mushroom sauce- potatoes in their creamy garlic sauce were to die for and a delicious creme caramel. This is a hidden gem of a place! Well worth a visit!

I first came here when I left the bar across the street after waiting to be served for 30 mins. The welcome from staff was very appreciated and we were seated immediately and treated very attentively from there on. Great service, simple but tasty french inspired menu. Good value and to top it off a gluten free menu which always makes life a lot simpler for me! I've been twice now and eaten different dishes of equally good standard. The filet mignon and chips just simple and nice, the chicken gratin very tasty and great for a winter lunch. Pate and toast was nice too. I'll be going back to try to have the 3 courses next time!

Came here for work's Christmas lunch. Arrived quite early - note there are only two places to sit and wait. Staff really friendly and helpful. Pork rillettes were an excellent starter, and the main - guinea hen was superb. Dessert -a tarte citron was a bit dull, and in retrospect should've had the creme caramel.

We ordered from the December lunch menu.

Superb breakfast. Loved the Croque Monsieur. Really good coffee. My partner raved about the jam for his toast. Really lovely staff and such pleasant surroundings.

After waiting at least 20mins for our order to be taken the food on arrival which was the rib eye steaks came and the chips and the rocket and steak were all extremely salty.

I have been to Cote Brasserie 4 times now and never been disappointed. The Special menu changes every month and there’s always something different.

A regular visitor to Cote but my experience last night was one of the best yet. Impressed that the usual set menus still available during the festive season. Service is exceptional and despite the restaurant being busy, staff were very attentive but a special shout out to Clare. Professional, friendly and super efficient, excelling in customer care.

Lovely food, good selection of set menus and great service, will definitely be going back. Have recommended it to people already

Picked this on a bit of a whim for breakfast.

The restaurant was suggested for lunch, early next month. I tried to call them, without success. The first time, I was just cut off, the second time I got the message that they only want to make on-line bookings.

This is the 4th Cote Brasserie we have eaten in and likely the worst. On entering the restaurant all you could see were tables cluttered with plates, glasses, bottles, etc. We knew in advance what we were going to order for mains. Beef Bourguignon and Cassoulet Toulouse. The service was fine as were the starters. My BB was also fine but the Cassoulet was awful. Dry and overdosed with croutons (trying to hide something obviously). Considering this was a November special dish you would expect it to be perfect. We suspect that it had been cooked, plated and left to sit on warming station then just had the croutons thrown over it. There were very few beans in the dish or sausage which is a staple and the duck was bland and tasteless. We complained, and the manager kindly refunded the drinks off the bill which is fair enough but is spoiled the experience to the extend we did not stay for deserts and coffee but went elsewhere.

Visited for an early table on a Saturday afternoon,restaurant busy. Good choice of starters and main courses.Steak had a £2 supplement,but was excellent.Good vibrant friendly atmosphere.

Food was not well prepared, it was presented at a very basic level. Surprised at simple things like bread rolls etc did not accompany soup, and watch out for the gratuities they add to your bill - turned out I tipped them twice, so overall a very disappointing experience, will not be back.

Mid morning meeting, quiet enough to chat and hear what friends were saying. Only had croissants and pain au chocolat but food going by looked very tempting. Nice seleciotn of presesrves brought with the croissants.

We had dinner here on a Thursday night. There werea few tables being served but it was by no means full. The food was good but service left something to be desired. We had to stop someone to ask them to take our food order and ask where our drinks were as we had ordered drinks and no-one came back with them. When we asked fort eh bill it was the same - we stopped someone and asked them for the bill and then had to ask someone else when no-one came with it after a wait. This place adds on a 12.5% gratuity on to all bills so the service should be much better than this.

Early dinner booked by a friend as a late birthday treat for me, knowing that Cote is my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. On arrival were given a la Carte and Prestige menu and informed 3 or 4 dishes were not available. We’re not offered Early Dinner menu and on asking waiter were told that it was not available at all as last day of the month, several dishes unavailable and menu changing next day. Disappointing!

Lunched with four friends at this delightful restaurant on West Nile Street. In addition to the main menu, there were two special lunch menus each with a generous variety of dishes modestly priced for two or three courses. My smoked haddock croquettes and grilled sea bream with haricot beans in a parsley, tarragon and caper dressing were flavourful and delicious. Similarly the charcuterie starter and the boeuf en croute, grilled chicken breast and steak frites chosen by my colleagues were pronounced similarly excellent. The starters and main dishes were complemented by four varied desserts. We ended up tasting each - again delicious. Making our lunch all the more special was the superb service of Grace, our lovely waitress who hailed from north west Spain. She was super efficient and a joy to have around

Sunday morning, only a few tables were taken. Black coffee was quite a small cup but strong, as if it were 4 espressos. The poached eggs looked great but were served on quite small muffins, for 8 or 9 pounds. And a bit bland. What I disliked was that the menu items were charged individually rather than as a cheaper set (which can happen) and that the "optional 12.5 percent gratuity" comes standard to your bill. So this is not optional at all unless you make a point of it, the waiter told me. Then just don't call it "optional", this feels misleading. Or another optional tip here: just earn your tip rather than demanding it.

This is our second visit to this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was great, it was busy but the staff were very attentive and friendly , good service.The food was excellent. We will definitely go back again.

Retains the feel and menu of a decent French restaurant while keeping pricing reasonable. Be mindful that the bill will however be more than you were expecting, because they add on a 12.5%service charge.

Come here regularly. Food and service always excellent. Just wish they would ditch the heavy bass monotonous chillout musak.It is anything but chillout. I cannot believe anyone enjoys it. What about some popular French music or indeed, none at all? The place has its own ambience.

A few of our friends had recommended Cote Brasserie so we decided to try on a Saturday evening. From the warm welcome on arrival to the member of staff opening the door for us on departure the staff were so attentive & could not have done anything more.

Lovely staff very welcoming and wen I sat outside they were very attentive. I had the rabbit tagine which was lovely and the pommel de tarte for dessert. I found it to be a very nice French cuisine.

Aberdonians looking for a decent Sunday breakfast, stumbled across Côte and were very impressed.

We went our for lunch on Sat and it was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed my complimentary cocktail (and my hubby's) while the lovely waitress recommended a nice red for him. The food and the service were spot on, couldn't fault a thing.

We visited this exquisite restaurant as a group of four adults to celebrate a family engagement .

We visited with friends last weekend and had an outstanding evening, the service and food was excellent. We had booked a lovely round table in the corner which was very intimate, would highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience myself and my wife had in this restaurant, food and wine was excellent, but the service made the visit exceptional, not invasive, just very interactive and pleasant combined with recommendations, will definitely recommend to friends and will certainly visit again.

Hemos estado en Cote en otros lugares y nos sentimos seguros de que tendríamos una buena comida en la sucursal de Glasgow. Am zweiten Tag in Glasgow wollten wir nicht schon wieder Fastfood oder klassisch Fritiertes essen. Da wir auch keine Freunde der indischen Küche sind, haben wir zuerst nach einem Steakhaus Ausschau gehalten. Dabei sind wir über die Cote Brasserie "gestolpert". Das einladende Ambiente und die Angebote auf der Speisekarte haben uns die Entscheidung leicht gemacht, hier zu Abend zu essen und französische Küche zu genießen.

Friendly welcome on a wet, wet day. Main courses of Sea Bream were delicious. Starters and puddings were good too. Waiting staff were pleasant, mostly young and European. Nice ambience. Forgot there was a 12.5% service charge and left a tip as usual. No worries, it was good.
