The best restaurants serving French food in London

Avevo visto Sketch sui social, passandoci davanti ho deciso di fermarmi per un aperitivo e, purtroppo, l’ho trovato un po’ al di sotto delle aspettative. L’estetica è interessante, forse lo riproverò per cena.

This is a super atmospheric cafe, it's very much a study-in-a-coffee-shop kind of vibe! It's got a really nice view from the window where you can see everything going on outside. It's often busy since it's located close to a couple of schools, but it's a great place to go to on the weekends, in my experience. The food is great, but super expensive! I don't go regularly, but sometimes will get a nice cinnamon bun which I highly recommend ;)

Elegí Frenchie debido a la buena relación calidad-precio fijo menú, fuerte marca y ubicación cerca de Covent Garden. Desafortunadamente, después de nuestra experiencia es poco probable que recomendaría el restaurante a un amigo. Los entrantes estaban bien. Eran ligeramente agobiantes en comparación con otros menús pre-teatro en Londres (algunos de los cuales están a un precio ligeramente inferior) , pero los sabores de los platos eran decentes y estaban bien presentados. Llegaron nuestros platos fuertes y dos de nosotros (ordenando el bacalao y la panza de cerdo) pensamos que el nuestro venía con una salsa. Las salsas llegaron por separado, unos minutos después de que llegaran todos los platos, cuando ya estábamos a mitad del plato. Mencioné esto a nuestra servidora cuando se recogieron nuestros platos, diciendo que la salsa debía llegar con la red, pero no parecía demasiado preocupada por nuestra decepción. La red era agradable en general, pero el plato de bacalao no estaba tan caliente como debería haber estado a la llegada. Sin el jus desde el principio, el plato de cerdo comprendía un trozo de vientre de cerdo poco sazonado, aunque con una bonita piel crujiente, y un pequeño lado de puerros y manzanas que curiosamente no parecía agregar mucho. Una vez más, en comparación con otros menús pre-teatro que he probado (por ejemplo, Wild Honey, Café Murano) , los principales se presentaron bien pero carecían de profundidad de sabor. Pedimos otra ronda de bebidas al comienzo de nuestro plato principal. Después de haber preguntado varias veces dónde estaban, finalmente llegaron cuando casi habíamos terminado nuestros postres. El postre de banoffee estaba bien presentado y sabía bien, pero lamentablemente esto no fue suficiente para recuperar la comida para nosotros.

Cenamos temprano aquí el verano pasado con nuestros tres hijos. Antes de las prisas tan buen servicio. Todas las comidas fueron excelentes, y mi Carbonara no solo era muy tradicional, sino la mejor que he probado. Este fue el mejor restaurante en el que comimos mientras estábamos en Londres, y fue mejor que un par de restaurantes tradicionales muy conocidos y altamente calificados. El barman de cócteles fue uno de los mejores, y el cóctel exclusivo fue excelente. Esta será nuestra primera opción para cenar la próxima vez que visitemos Londres.

Beautiful setting, delicious food. The desserts are my favourite by far. Such a good selection of drinks. Very good attentive service.

I love this shop. Everything tastes as good as it looks. The cool thing is that now I can order it online and have it delivered. Of course, ordering in store is a real treat.

Cote Restaurant Blackheath Walked in early Monday evening, no reservation, nicely welcomed and offered several seating options. I had a nice glass pinot noir and I ordered the Moules for a main. Didn’t have to wait long. The mussels were fresh and the sauce hot and tasty. Unfortunately more than half of the mussels shells were empty with the mussels fallen to the bottom of the bowl. The mussels were fresh and tasty but sadly well over cooked and some quite mushy. I politely showed the many empty shells with the many mussels hidden at the bottom of the bowl to the table server who nodded politely. I then decided to order another meal from the starters as I was still hungry. I ordered the cheese soufflé with a side of tomato basil salad. By this time the restaurant had filled up and the place was busy. The cheese soufflé accompanied by the tomato basil salad arrived in good time considering the increasing number of customers. The soufflé was disappointing albeit a challenging dish to prepare and cook at a moments notice. The tomato salad had large tomato wedges sparsely dressed with two very thin strings of basil. No dressing and very plain. At least the tomato wedges were fresh. I decided not to chance my luck with the deserts so I concluded my evening meal. Despite the previous not so positive reviews about the service. My experience in this regard was very good and I did not get the impression that other customers were having to wait. However, my expectations towards the overall quality, taste and presentation of the food and overall value for money for this particular restaurant were not realised and I left feeling rather disappointed.

Incredible local restaurant. Atmosphere and quality of food is so good. We really are spoiled having this local gem. Beautiful place

The food was so delicious. My favorite two dishes were the duck with cranberry sauce and the egg sandwich with sweet potato fries. Starters were just okay. Desserts were nice especially the fondant.

Very busy restaurant. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, everyone is welcoming & hospitable. The starters were amazing, smoked salmon & a tartine. Prepared and assembled to perfection. Experience went wrong however with the rack of lamb. You could smell the over powering garlic stench before the plate arrived. I do not understand why restaurants do not include the ingredient garlic on their menu when describing the dishes. Had they done so, would have selected another dish. Instead, the rack of lamb was sent back & although they offered an alternative, we left. To the credit of the restaurant and staff, they were v gracious in the way they handled it. I wish we ordered something else, but probably won’t return now. So many places out there.

Since I love Paul's croissants, I took my spouse and children there. The croissants were stale and tasteless. I was really disappointed that they’ve lost their former quality.

We used to come to Cote every couple of months and always enjoyed it but the last visit was pretty awful. The staff were pleasant but the food was terrible. The chicken was almost unrecognisable - it looked like it had been frozen and thawed several times and actually looked a bit like an omelette , there was a fairly dire salad and a fish pie type dish that was very overcooked and again appeared to have been frozen. The steak and chips were still reasonably good. Finally we had the soggiest, most tasteless tart tatin - everything was mushy. Very disappointing and we won't be back which is a shame.

Lunch booked for a birthday treat, ordered from the a la cart menu as more choice than the set menu. We had to wait 30 minutes for our starter while tables around us were served their main and dessert . When our main arrived the side order was missing, I had to ask for it and by the time it arrived we were over half way through our meal. The food was excellent but the service was disappointing.

Avoid bad service bad food The most unfriendly staff ever worked at this cafe bakery and I do know the place for 20 years. Good used to be much much better. On top of that the prices gone hugely.
