My partner and I had a lovely meal on late Tuesday night. Jakob was looking after us with some great food annd amazing cocktails. Really recommend to go for the duck as main. Very juicy and beautifully presented. And their twists of negroni are the ones to return.

Alright. Review of Le Pont de la Tour. So I made a reservation (not realizing it was super fancy which was my bad). However, we were the only one’s there. We requested to be sat outside for our anniversary with a nice view of the London Tower Bridge. Instead, we were sat inside. There wasn’t a way to make a reservation for just drinks, so we told our waiter when we were seated. We were later asked to move to the bar, but were actually seated in a waiting area with no view of the bridge, instead just an orchid. My wine glass was less than half full and the glass was dirty. Should have asked for a refund :/ I had really high hopes and never leave reviews… however this experience warranted one. Don’t go here if you want to cheers and enjoy the London Bridge. Just not the place!

I have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions and the food is indeed superb. Thats why I’ve been a regular customer. The service also used to be superb. But my most recent and long planned reservation (13th Oct) was abruptly cancelled at short notice by them as they suddenly had a larger more important booking? I felt so hurt by that. A glass of ‘bubbles’ was offered if I booked again and tbh I’d expect a bottle of ‘Champagne’. Felt very cancelled….Grrr

During our visit to London, my brother and I needed last minute dinner plans and found an open reservation for Le Pont de la Tour. Right away i was impressed by the upscale and stylish decor and the friendliness of the staff that greeted us. We were seated by a windows that gave a great view of London Bridge, which was cool. French food was good though depending on your taste, you may want to ask for salt to enhance it. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

On arrival my coat and jacket was hung up without me having to ask, the restaurant was bright and welcoming with nicely presented tables, the waiter was polite and not over pushy. We had the 3 course set menu which was only had 3 options for starter and main, and dessert. The menu used culinary French terms so people might not know what some of the food is. My ( jambon de Bayonne, remoulded dried tomatoes) starter was of a good size and presentation, it tasted nice but nothing surprising, my friend had pea Veloute gem hearts, petite pois, olive oil For my main l had Roast crown of chicken, hen of the woods , kale, pommes Lyonnaise, red wine jus. Which was nicely presented and the jus was poured over just after the plate was placed down I did think that the Lyonnaise was on the small side and the chicken was a little on the dry side but overall it was tasty. One friend had the fish ( menu in pics ) he said it was very nice, nothing to inspiring what imaginative in my opinion. my other friend had the ratatouille he liked it, to me it lacked presentation but maybe not a lot you can do ? We did have a glass of sparkling wine which came with the meal, that was nice. For my dessert l had the Crème brûlée. That was a good size and crispy to and smooth crème as you would expect. One of my friends had the Chocolate fondant she like it, to me it looked like it was on the dryer side. The service was very good and l did feel l had enough to eat but a touch more food would have been perfect especially on the main. Overall had a very nice time. It was smart casual to smart dressed

I ate at Le Pont de la tour about 15-years ago and remember the service and food being faultless. At that visit I had a chocolate souffle that took an extra 20-minutes to make and was worth the wait. I also remember the restaurant being packed and that we had booked quite far in advance. My visit yesterday was very different. First of all, the restaurant was empty. There were only 5 other diners inside which is so strange for a Friday lunchtime. Secondly, service was slow. Considering there were very few other diners to serve, I had to ask for my water to be topped up three times. I know it seems like something small, but this restaurant used to have impeccable service. The food still speaks for itself. I ordered from the lunchtime set menu. I had a salad, followed by sole and then a chocolate fondant for dessert. I'm not sure what the dressing on the salad was, but it was delicious! Also, the portion of sole was huge. I love chocolate so had high hopes for the fondant and it did not disappoint. It was served with an espresso ice cream which complemented the fondant very well. The menu is excellent value for money at £35 and includes a glass of champagne. The restaurant is in Shad Thames, right near Tower Bridge. There are lovely views of the bridge from the restaurant.

A birthday treat, and based on one of the party's past experience, we were all looking forward to it. I'll start off with the positives. The drinks were great. Cocktails good and the wine chosen was also good. The positives have ended now. Service dreadful. I think the shift changed halfway through our lunch. Firstly after mentioning my sister's allergies, the gougeres arrived to have with our cocktails. The waiter just said as he put them down, oh you can't have these. No forewarning, no substitute offered. Nothing. Our main courses arrived, well to be more exact, three of the four main courses arrived. Two of the smallest half lobsters I have ever seen, the toughest steak I've ever eaten, I literally feared for my teeth trying to eat it. Did I ask for it well done? No medium. Pink. Served with cold chips, not fries as menu suggested. My vegetarian sister in law says waiting, and waiting and still waiting. Eventually a waiter was flagged down, because non of the serving staff noticed that only three of us had food. Her beetroot salad and fries had been forgy. 10 minutes later a teaplate, not a main portion plate arrived with some salad things thrown onto it. No hint of thought or arrangement. They would have charged us £32 for this side salad had my sister in law and I not stood our ground. Desserts were distinctly average. Although they did do a sweet little plate with happy birthday on for the birthday girl. Coffee equally so. Four ladies out for a 60th birthday treat, so we did not like to sour the atmosphere by complaining. However, we would have had better food in a Café Rouge. The bill was just under £400. All I can think is Saturday must be a really bad day to visit. If I were any of the staff there I would be thoroughly ashamed.

No, just no. I had been here before covid and it is not the same. It went down hill pretty fast,. Or maybe I just developed the taste buds :) Wine list is good. However if you go through the wine list per bottle it makes sense to get better wine by glass that overpay for lesser wine per bottle (checked on Vivino too). However, drink wise it’s a great wine list, except overpriced per bottle. Gougeres were dry and disappointing, and steak tartare… please send your chef to Paris to have a steak tartare in Les Deux Palais, and it will change their view on the dish you serve with crisps (scandalous:). The bread to come with it was disappointing too, as much as the rest of the food. You need serious help, cause it’s nowhere near French. Thehard sauce on steak tartare when it’s supposed to be creamy, the dry gougeres. No. Just no. Maybe for people who came from the pub and wanted to try smth new it’s good, but not for people who developed the actual tastebuds.

We recently lunched for a wedding anniversary - and did enjoy the experience overall. The setting is lovely and we had an outside table with a great view. Service was excellent, friendly and professional. On the down side - we had a group of 20 arrive who seemed to believe that the terrace was their private area - they were so loud and inconsiderate - constantly standing with their bum in my face that I had to ask to move tables - this was professionally and promptly dealt with - but the restaurant needs to perhaps cordon off large groups as this was a real downer on the day - the wine and food was expensive - £80 for a bottle of Pouilly-Fume.... - the food was disappointing - my steak tartar starter was grey rather then red, my wife's crustace cocktail sadly lacking in crustace - mains and desserts were similarly disappointing Shame because it is a lovely location

While the view is gorgeous, we were less happy with the quality of food and service that came along with it. There was nothing to complain about for the food but for those prices, you would really expect better quality… maybe I’m just a sucker for good value. There just didn’t seem to be that much pride or thought taken to make each dish special or memorable. However, I could have just ordered the wrong things as well. While the waiters seemed friendly and happy to serve, the maitre’d seemed to give off an arrogant air and wanted to be off doing other errands than to make us feel more welcome.

Lovely service and view of the Tower Bridge. Unfortunately the menu online was completely different to the one given in person. The duck leg and liver terrine which was bland, dry, and unfortunate. If the liver was mixed with smaller pieces of duck leg throughout the terrine it would have had more of the delicious liver flavour and texture. The blini dish was good aside from the blini itself, as it was bland of any sweet or salty flavour.

Disappointing! It started with the menus, whichever even on the website are blurry and impossible to read! The main course we both wanted was unavailable and waiter did not mention it at the start. Oysters were opened by a blind man and awfully presented, I ordered a medium rare steak and got a medium/well done one, which meant everyone had to wait for it to be recooked. It came back overdone again and lacked seasoning. It was a nice piece of meat so tasted OK but for £40 I expected it to be better cooked. This place will always draw crowds due to location and waiters did their best but for over £100 per head, I will not be coming back.

Look elsewhere for a fun evening with friends or family..... After 32 years in the city, I can say that Le Pont de la Tour used to without a doubt the best restaurant in the city. World famous for its impeccable service and food ..... times have changed..... On Tuesday evening we were unfortunate enough to witness first hand some truly appalling management at the Le Pont de la Tour. Whilst considering the menu and enjoying some pre dinner cocktails in the warm summer sun, we were approached by who we later discovered was the Restaurant Manager, but instead of the nice warm welcome you would expect, my guests received a dressing down being told to keep the noise down as we were "laughing" too loudly. An experience that made us all feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable that we decided to take our leave. If you are looking for stuffy out of date dinning in near silence, then this may be for you, but if you want to have a lovely evening with fun and laughter, I would suggest going elsewhere (the Chop House next door is great, it certainly where we ended up having a wonderful evening)

We decided to order a deluxe seafood platter along with some drinks. However, I was deeply disappointed with both the service and the quality of the seafood. To begin with, when the seafood platter was brought to our table, the waiter accidentally dropped a prawn on my bag. Despite this mishap, the waiter did not offer to replace the prawn or take any corrective action. This lack of attentiveness was disheartening. Furthermore, as I started eating, I noticed that one of the mussels had an extremely unpleasant odor, reminiscent of a dead fish. Concerned about the quality of the seafood, I brought this issue to the attention of the manager. Astonishingly, the manager insisted that the mussel was fresh, dismissing my concern entirely. This response struck me as ridiculous, especially considering the amount of money I had paid for the meal, which amounted to $200. Having traveled extensively and dined in various establishments worldwide, I have never encountered such poor service and low-quality food. It is regrettable that I am left with the impression that the discrimination against my Chinese background influenced the treatment I received. But i would like to stated that i came from Hong Kong.

The food was great overall, though the potatoes could've been better. The place had a stunning view and the wine was delicious. But, there was a major issue with the attitude of the short French waiter. He assumed we couldn't pay our bill and treated us condescendingly. It made the whole vibe uncomfortable, like we weren't welcome. Plus, we got served food we didn't order, which was taken back but still ended up on our bill. I paid without double-checking, but my partner noticed later. When we pointed it out, the waiter said we couldn't get an immediate refund, which wasn't true. His attitude totally ruined what should've been a lovely meal by the river. I felt judged, looked down on, and robbed. I will add that all the other waiting staff were very professional and nice. It was only the short French man who had a better than attitude. It's almost a week on and I still have not received my refund. This place is a joke. Even McDonalds can mange that. My husband booked outdoor seating (which is the main draw of this restaurant) weeks in advance. This is so we could enjoy views of the Tower Bridge specifically. On the day, we were escorted to a cramped corner of the indoor restaurant near overlooking a tinted mirror and concrete plateau. We were informed the weather was too bad to serve food outside, yet there was also a party outdoors for drinks that same evening. Fair enough, but it’s in good practice to notify guests in advance of big changes to their reservation to avoid disappointment. Staff were polite and apologetic, but there were no attempts at resolving the problem. It put a damper on our Friday evening and we ended up leaving.

I confirmed my booking 24 hours before again to make sure everything is lined up. However, when I turned up I found out that my table is not reserved outdoor any more. There was a big group instead who took all the tables outside. The silly excuse they gave me is that the weather is not right. However for the other party weather was alright to drink outside. They wasted so much of my time. It ruined my Friday date night and they didn’t even offer any alternate solution. The question is if as a customer you cancel the booking they charge you a fee but when they do it they don’t give a damn. Never ever again! They are unprofessional and unreliable.

Very friendly staff , Salar was taking care of our table and he was kind and helpful. We loved the view on Tower Bridge and the style inside the restaurant. We were celebrating friends birthday and she received a complimentary cake with candle. We were also a bit late but the staff was kind enough to hold our table. The food was very good , wine tasty but a bit expensive.

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at LE Pont De La Tour near London Bridge and it was an exceptional experience. The warm blini with London cured smoked salmon and fromage blanc was a delightful start to the meal, setting the tone for what was to come. The Roast loin of Cornish cod bourguignon with trompette mushrooms, garlic pommes puree, and sauce lie de vin was simply exquisite, showcasing a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The meal reached its peak with the hot chocolate fondant paired with coconut ice cream, a heavenly combination that left a lasting impression. The attentive service and the stunning views of the Thames only added to the overall delightful ambiance. I would highly recommend LE Pont De La Tour for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in London." The staff at LE Pont De La Tour exuded a remarkable level of professionalism, from the warm welcome to the attentive service throughout the evening. Their knowledge of the menu and their ability to make recommendations added to the overall dining experience. The restaurant itself was a sight to behold, exuding elegance and charm in its decor and layout. The view of the London Bridge was simply breathtaking, providing a stunning backdrop that enhanced the entire dining experience, making it a truly memorable evening.

Good restaurant but very expensive for the service and food. My wife and I visited London and Scotland and we went to several restaurants, this was the least impressive and the one that had X service. It was not surprising and when I go to a restaurant with these prices I expect to be surprised.

Terrible service for a business dinner. Informed there was an issue with the kitchen so we expected slow service but it was embarrassing to be sat there for 5 hours and every time we tried to flag down the staff they blatantly ignored us and turned their heads. We were nothing but polite and spent a fortune and it made for a funny story but it was shocking how they went out of their way to ignore us trying to order our food and pay the bill, when we where the only ones in there and there was a lot of staff. Amusing to say the least but sadly what was once a venue we used regularly is now on the "do not use" list due to the bizarre service.

I have been eating here for years and it always delivers a special experience. It is curious to eat in the Gherkin as a contrast, then compare locations as you make each other out.

One of your waiters has a serious attitude problem, shouting at customers and colleagues and generally being unprofessional. Good drinks though, even if they took 20 minutes to arrive, not quite the Christmas vibe I was expecting.

My daughter booked this as part of my Birthday celebrations. This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. The food and service was a throughly enjoyable experience. We asked for a table to look over the bridge, we couldn’t have been better placed to see this. They even presented me with a small slice of birthday cake as well. Lovely place- will definitely be back

Took a table here for eight yesterday evening. Food across the board was pretty average as was the service with the exception of one or two dishes and one waiter. We ordered desserts and nothing turned up other than a message to say “sorry the pastry chef has left for the night” so no deserts materialised. Never heard of this before, apparently she just walked out. That’s a first for me!. I can understand I a small out of town restaurant, but that was poor for London by any accounts. Wouldn’t rush back as not good value. Venue is great as is location

Beautiful setting. Wonderful food. Excellent presentation. Second time guest. I wish the demeanor of the staff matched the quality of the food/drinks. I felt I was annoying them the two times I requested something. More often than not, I felt like a burden being there. I did manage to conjure a smile out of one of them, so that was a plus!

Just avoid this place. Choose somewhere else. Food was, at best, bland and small portioned, at worst undercooked and inedible. The drinks menu looked good, although in practice, due to unavailability, the selection was smaller and sub-standard. Service was poor, being a bit sparse, and with mixed options from waiting staff. When we did get staff, we'd get different answers from different staff, which was very confusing. Atmosphere was ok, although seats were low with no cushioning; we just sank into them. The guests were herded in like sardines.

Tasty food, served in a beautiful setting, with friendly, helpful staff... However I cant give 5 stars to a restaurant with a mouse running around the floor, which we saw on two occasions, and when reported, we were told there was nothing they could do. That may be the case but not what you expect from a high class restaurant paying £130 a head

Beautiful setting, great service, terrific food. We ate here for dinner and enjoyed the quiet restaurant— even with families with children and a party with a lot of happy noise and laughter, the room is appointed so that there is wonderful calm. We do enjoyed mussels, onion soup and steak frites— all beautifully seasoned. Our mistake was to eat lunch— we really wished to try the desserts. But we will be back— next time for lunch to look at the river view in daylight. It was lovely at night!

We had the prix fixe lunch, it was totally amazing, mushroom veloute soup was wonderful. We then had the chicken for the main course, the chicken was so tender and the whole dish was perfection. We had a glass of the house wine which was also delicious, we finished with a chocolate fondant and crème caramel both we beautifully presented and tasted divine. The service and overall ambiance was perfect, we can’t wait to return. Thank you La Pont de La Tour for a wonderful experience.

A fantastic meal in our favourite restaurant. So pleased that Lie Pont de la tour is back on track. It was quite busy enough for a Monday lunch time and everything was perfect. We tried bream - even the menu has had an update - although they still have all the old favourites. Staff were friendly and efficient, food and wine excellent - and of course the view of Tower Bridge doesn’t change Just walk a few hundred yards beyond Tower Bridge to escape the chaos and enjoy the peace

We stayed for over three hours and were fortunate to see Tower Bridge being raised. Excellent location

We both chose the beef cheeks main course with side of truffled cauliflower & it was absolutely delicious!!! We were seated upstairs where the waitress, Danielle, known as Dee, was so lovely, happy & attentive yet she left us alone to chat without pressurising us to order. We always meet at this Côte as it never disappoints & we even sat outside after our meal to have a coffee in the autumn sunshine. Highly recommend.
