The best restaurants serving Fast food food in East of England

The fish and chips used to be excellent but the last good quality food I had from here was in spring 2023. Not sure if the owner changed but food certainly. The cod is always very good, but the chips are actually not edible each time. The smaller chips are so dry and hard that they go to bin each time. Only the larger chips are ok. Yesterday I ordered chicken strips and they were hard and dry. Looked and tasted like they were re-heated or re-cooked. What happened to this quality chip shop?

Running late on the way home from somewhere we decided to pop in and pick up a KFC on the way. The boneless banquet we have ordered for years is no more - or at least it wasn't on the menu. The price of individual meals seem very high. About £10 for a chicken burger, terrible chips and a drink. Our quick bite cost almost the same as a full meal from an Indian or Chinese take away and was nowhere near as rewarding, enjoyable or filling (and none left over for later as the portions are almost comically small). The food was described by all, with a shrug, as "edible at best". Another unforgiveable thing was missing sides. Missing parts on a relatively modest order is completely unforgiveable and ruins the whole "treat". Whoever thought the type of chip or fry served here was a good idea is having a laugh. They are a soggy over-seasoned mess. And the way they are dumped together in a big sloppy mess falling out of their tiny little bags into a larger paper bag is interesting. Back in the day KFC was a treat and "box meals" came in boxes, not just a selection of bags and couple of cartons all thrown into a paper bag with things missing and no hand wipes, salt, ketchup, forks or anything else offered or on display to help yourself. Our drinks were not even offered to us, just left on the counter out of reach and we had to ask which ones were ours, and again could they possibly be nudged our way so we can reach them. (Should have learnt from the time we got it delivered and the "chilled" drinks and "hot" food were bundled together in the same bag, again with sides missing).

Unreal chicken shop 10/10 you know the rules. Best burger & wings I’ve had in a long time. Proper old school chicken shop.

Massively disappointed in both of our orders- chicken was minimal in one wrap and I ordered extra halloumi in the other to find there was 2 SMALL chunks of under cooked (if at all) in the whole thing. Both wraps were soooo bland and overpriced - just completely tasteless. It was our first and last time of ordering from there unfortunately. Wouldn’t recommend.

Recently visited here as a coach driver only to be told this outlet does not take coach driver vouchers - avoid

Stopped here while waiting for a bus after work one rainy evening. The food was good as usual for subway. I had enough points for a foot long sub that made my evening. Only 4 stars because I had to wait outside as the poor staff guy had to lock the door to use the toilet as people have walked in and robbed stuff before when he doesn't. Not his fault at all though. He was polite, hygienic, and efficient. It's a shame that businesses in 2024 still function with the solo worker gig. What if something happens to him? Sort it out.

I always go to this subway I’m a local Coustomer.I went to shop today and bought a steak sandwich with double cheese and drink she worked alone today on Tuesday 12/07/2022 at 17:19 she putt too little steak I said to her put extra steak and cheese I will pay extra I told her please can you put me more sauce she told me no I can’t. I told her Why you annoying me? I want large drink and sauce and steak cheese I paid you but you didn’t give me!! she spoke very rude to me!! She said don’t order to me while you are on your phone?? I was surprised?!She said to me don’t come here anymore!!?? I understood she want to make a problem, I said I’m very rush you give me my food I need to go, she did keep my food and discuss and argue to me I took one glass large for my drink she did hit my hand and threw the scanner at me she shuts on me I said to her what do you do?you don’t give my food and hit me?! What a customer service is that, Even she didn’t want to give me my drink, all because I was talking to my phone, I had to call the police at the end. I don’t go to this subway anymore and I don’t know how subway give a job to this girl. She was so rude and very bad customer service.

The cook made us a wonderful fish with his own recipe. Such a lovely service and the cook made us feel very welcomed .

I ordered two magic bags via toogoodtogo. Lovely saveloy and chips, with a piece of cod. Friendly service with a smile, please give this place a try.

OK food, quality was reasonable, but the cost is way to much! The price of chips is ridiculous especially for the amount you get. Portions are miniature. I seriously won;t be back , its worth driving elsewhere, irrespective of travel costs just to ensure you get better value for money! They should value their customers and not rob them! .

Terrible service! Jumped up young lady on a power trip clearly had no concept of what subway ‘make it your way’ actually means! Wasn’t allowed salad because her picture didn’t have any. And so rude. Avoid avoid avoid Saturday afternoons.

Rapid service, got the food within 5 minutes. Delicious food, have been coming here for years and has never disappointed me.

Absolutely vile disgusting burger van big fat rude man serving felt almost inconvenienced to ask him to serve us whilst he chatted with his mates , only plus point is another van not far try that instead
