Albany Gardens Fish&Chips in Colchester

I ordered two magic bags via toogoodtogo. Lovely saveloy and chips, with a piece of cod. Friendly service with a smile, please give this place a try.

Been here a couple times chips can be ok but I order wings the chef convinced me there were good biggest mistake ever taste flavourless too much batter and just made my mouth hot food not always fresh ever and prices are day light robbery

We always get the Special Shish Kebab and it’s delicious. Always hot, tasty & very quick delivery. If you want a kebab - go here!! Especially cos it’s ‘fish & chip shop’ chips ✨

This is a really shoddy fast food outlet at not cheap prices. Bad quality frozen food, overly greasy chips, and overall a run down establishment. I would avoid like the plague. Particularly as there's excellent fish and chips nearby.

The kebab we ordered was great, the service we received was excellent and their portions were very generous, I’m very pleased!

We've only had take away from here & they have never failed us. The lamb shish is always hot, fresh & plentiful, the salad is always chilled & fresh & they have never made an error with our order. Cannot comment on other food items, except the chips which we every now and then for a cheeky treat & they've always been a decent portion, hot & not soggy/claggy. Very reasonable prices too.

We visited this evening, having purchased good fish and chips from here in the past. I ordered a large haddock and large chips, which came to £7.50. This is usually enough to feed my wife and myself, but the chips were almost cold and only enough for one person. The haddock was good, but if that was a large I hate to think what a "medium" is like. £7.50 for a large haddock (or cod) and chips is cheaper than some other shops, but the quantity is insufficient. Essentially if you need enough for one hungry person, you need to order two pieces of fish and two portions of chips.

If I could rate this no stars I would. Or minus stars. We ordered using their app where you couldn't modify the orders. It turned up after an hour and 20 minutes, said 1 hour wait. Pizza was completely tasteless, burger meal deal didn't turn up with the drink or chips. The burger tasted like 'seasoned cardboard. Horrendously bland' (my boyfriend's review) and my mum's chicken kebab had three pieces of chicken in the whole pitta. My father had to go and collect the chips because the driver was out and couldn't get to us.

So angry ... ordered a jacket potato with chilli con carne ... might as well just ordered a potato ... hardly any chilli in it! Waste of money couldn’t even do the potato right Also ordered a burger ... how the hell do you mess up a burger! It’s burnt and and leaves a horrible taste in your mouth Kids burger is also burnt and tough to eat Curry sauce looks like they have just left it all night.. Think it’s safe to say I won’t be going back ...

Waited ages for 2 potions of chips and when I got them home they were anaemic in colour and tastless even with salt and vinegar. No not for us.

Got to be the best chip shop in colchester , The best value for money, amazing kebabs with pure chicken , Deliveries is always on time or even before the estimated time , 5* place to order.

Got to be the best Fish & Chips in Colchester and the best value for money by far. Also do amazing Kebabs with pure chicken breast.. Batter is light and cooked to perfection. All fresh cooked while you wait. 10 out of 10.

We tried this establishment yesterday ( 24/7/16) and what an experience , I had battered sausages and they were awful tasteless lengths of heaven knows what ,my wife had a steak and kidney pie which looked and tasted like chopped up dog food and my mother in law had fish which was coated in the most anaemic looking batter I have ever seen , she did say it wasn't too bad but as she ate less than half of it I think she was just being polite. We all had chips and these were the worst chips any of us have ever sampled , they were dry tough and many were hollow and it is hard too fathom how anyone could make such mess of cooking a few chips . All in all the worst food of this type I have ever eaten.
