Istanbul Delight in Colchester

Went in here after a night out to be charged £27 for 2 mixed donner meats. The staff tried eating my food as well. Not exactly happy. Avoid 100% dodgy people who take advantage of drunks.

Over charged me and refused to offer a refund, don’t buy from instanbul. All they want to do is take your money

food is usually good, long wait, delivery has become really slow

Food was cold late and pretty obvious why any time food is ordered from a restaurant in town centre it's clear that the delivery drivers wait until they have loads of orders then they leave to deliver them and they're cold

Food was an hour and 15 mins late. Ordered ahead of time and called three times to be told they were busy and it will be there soon. Food came cold and extremely late, poor quality and I had a stomach ache the next day. Not impressed at all

food did not arrive and the restaurant stopped answering out calls disgraceful

Very disappointing . Ordered a family meal for my children, unfortunately the delivery did not arrive. £30 quid of which I will now have to wait up to two days for, to be reimbursed into my account . Such a shame, as I have eaten in here before & the food was great.

Well let’s start by saying I always loved this restaurant and unfortunately this time round the chips was horrible the burger was messy with cheese stuck to the box where it had melted from the burger to the box . And not only that the wait time I ordered was 8:28 and said 9:20 to 9:40 arrival time it didn’t show up till almost 10:30pm it’s ridiculous I’m not happy and all just eat wanna give me in return is £5:80 from a £20 order .

Driver took over 2.5 hours to arrive and turned up with the wrong items. Kept calling them throughout and they kept telling me the driver was close - ridiculous, never ordering again

There is no option to say food hasn’t arrived, this is scandalous ordering food @ 1700 updating app with eta of 1800-1820 saying you’ve delivered food you haven’t and still @ 1900 still no food I’m now standing in a kebab shop ordering food. Please give me a full refund asap. Disgraceful service.

ordered food at 4am through there website and it never arrived by half 4 when they closed, they put it as delivered on there website delivery service The people who work here are completly incompetent as well as thieves, they stole our money and refuse to give us a refund, would not recommended to anyone let alone recommend they stay open, this place should be shut down along with its incompetence of the employees as well

Ordered a large chicken shish and lamb doner kebab also a small chicken shish kebab...when they arrived there was NO lamb doner in the kebab only dry burnt chicken in both .also the large was the same size as the small .chips were like they had been cooked reheated and reheated.!!!trying to call to complain..No answer at all..

Order was completely wrong, I ordered a donor meat chips and salad with no cheese and it arrived with no salad burger sauce and cheese! Chips were not cooked fully, stale and hard. I have complete picture proof and their refusing a refund absolutely appalling will never order again.

I put one star as I can't put less. It has been a shame, we ordered 2 hours ago and we are still waiting for the dinner. Wraps were liking and unwrapped. I won't order again in place. Big deception

Terrible service, my order came 21:30 when it was meant to arrive 19:30 lol.

If you have issues when ordering direct, top right of order page is a “help” button, use it, they are helpful getting a refund but … you must of tried by calling the store yourself, but it does work, or … order through Foodhub and complain to them but you must of contacted the shop yourself first. 30/06/24 update, made the big mistake of ordering from here again, Chicken shish and lamb doner combo, no lamb doner, just 5/6 pieces of rubbish chicken swimming in sauce. Was told it was human error and accidents happen … yes but this is the second time this has happened now and I am paying for it. Fries were $*#t as well. If anyone sees me near this place again, shoot me … see below … Every time I leave a negative review on their site someone gives a 5* good one, this has to be a lucky person or with low standards or the owner or friend Mixed chicken shish and doner on Halloween 31st October and a horror of burnt doner meat, hard dry tasteless chicken and over salted chips. March’24 and tried again ordering chicken shish with doner and chips, the “chips” were like empty hollow bags of crisps or too hard to eat. Can’t say what the kebab was like because they emptied a whole jar of mayonnaise on it and so could not taste any chilli sauce so no point putting it on really, the chicken was again hard and dry, so much mayonnaise on it that the container went so soft i had to be careful picking it up or it would split open and all fall out on the floor. Absolutely disgusting but glad to of found a much better place and cheaper too, look around because these really don’t care at all Are the good reviews from staff, friends and family ? Take the money and run !!!

so cold, had to microwave it, impaired the taste so had to bin it.

the food didn't turn up at all. After waiting 2 hours I called the restaurant to be told they didn't have a driver so couldn't deliver my food, only for them to say it had been delivered instead of cancelling so I still got charged for nothing. I will be contacting my bank.

decent food, quick delivery, ordered a meal but came with no drink.

We had an evening delivery but it arrived incomplete with a yogurt kebab missing. When I called to ask about this, the person on the other end was completely uninterested and told me to “call Just Eat” as it wasn’t their problem. At no point during the conversation did they offer to send the missing item. £13.00 for what is basically a doner kebab with yogurt on it apparently vanished… Fuming!!!

It was the wrong order, I ordered chicken doner and I got a doner kebab instead.

Pizza was burnt nuggets and chips cold

the chicken was uncooked it was pink both boxs and I ordered a mixed kebab but only got given 2 meats when it was meant to be 3 just appalling.

food took 2hrs 15mins to arrive. it was meant to be only 35mins. called restaurant 4 times before they picked up. was told 5 mins then 10mins. always saying that the driver had already left. it apparently took over an hour to travel exactly 1 mile. ordered the party/family deal for £42, 4 pizzas one didn't even have cheese on, two of the pizzas didn't have the right toppings, only received one of two portions of chips. just an absolute joke, start to finish. avoid like the plague

It was rubbish food was never delivered and restaurant was very rude and unhelpful.

Waited over an hour for a delivery from Just Eat and I called the restaurant only to be told not their problem. He was so rude, refusing to tell me if my order has even left with the driver or been made at all. ‘Not my problem’ is all I kept getting. First and last time I will be trying this place!

Absolutely ridiculous. I understand it’s a Saturday night. But I ordered an hour and a half before I called the restaurant. Was spoken to rudely by the staff the second time I called because I was wondering where my order was 2 hours after placing it. I was then told to get a driver myself to pick it up. My order never arrived despite them saying was delivered. Now having to wait and argue for a refund. Unacceptable!

Why u pay less than minimum wages to staff?

I've been ordering from here for years and this is the worst it's ever been! Food cold, burger and bread were hard (couldn't eat it), half portions of sides (compared to previous orders) and half an hour late with a delivery driver that practically threw the bag at me and left (didn't even take the just eat code). Time to find a new kebab place in town.

No communication from shop and when I did call them they lied about my order been on its way and then sent wrong drink and salad had fell out of box and chips just warm

Order was late. Called in. The man answering angrily said “it’s on its way!” Hanging up on me. Food was all cold and poor quality. I’d strongly not recommend anyone go to Istanbul Delight. Bad food and bad service!

Made my order at 2am and it’s now 3 30 am and my food still isn’t here but yet it’s been marked on here that’s it’s been delivered over an hour and half wait for something that’s still not here how shocking

pizza burnt and Cold cheese garlic bread was just four bits from a baguette with some cheese on and also Cold cheese chips.all awful only thing that was OK was the garlic dip . shame as have ordered direct from the store and been a walk in and had no issues but this time I can honestly say it was entirely inedible worst takeaway I have ever had

Generous Portion, Very fresh, Very tasty. No doubt Turkish people have big heart when it comes to meal, they give alot of sides and big portions. Definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

kids burger turned up rock hard ,so hard you didn’t get ya teeth into it!! both drinks were missing! delivery person said il come back and guess what nope they didn’t! i rang restaurant and he said oh free burger and drinks next time? erm nope i’ve got a kid here waiting for dinner i want a replacement! ok ok we send (i live two mins away in car) , 45 mins later and no dinner!!!
