Oh My Cod in Colchester

Can't beat this place for value for money , the portions are massive . Staff were really friendly and it was really busy when we visited . We will be returning .

Fresh fish, always cooked to order and chips taste nice. Fish & chips are served in boxes and they have a really nice curry sauce. The large portion of fish is very generous. I always get my fish & chips from here.

Always collected in person here, never a bad experience. Lovely, lovely staff and always treated well. Food has always been great, hot and delicious.

Very disappointed, chips were great .. but .... battered sausage was not fresh and rubbery and my £10 cod had so much batter that although the fish was cooked the batter was inedible and raw inside ...

I take it they microwave the peas, or not in my case. Stone cold. Won't be ordering again.

Delivery stated 18 37 delivered 18.40 perhaps i should just give one star.

Really enjoyed my order, batter was really crisp! Delivered just within the delivery window given, not bad for a Friday evening.

Food was great & very tasty. It was delivered early, which was a surprise & we were out, but all OK.

Batter on the cod was too thick and soggy, chips and were nice

First time I’ve ever had a poor meal from Oh My Cod… food was lukewarm, one piece of fish was all batter with about 3 mouthfuls of fish in it plus the chips were all small and hard. Not good. Delivery was 18 minutes late but don’t think that was the driver’s fault as on the order I requested for 12.30 it said expected 12:50-13-15. I wonder if the shop got it ready at 12.30, might be why I had to heat it all up in the microwave- I only live a 5 minute drive from the shop. Very disappointed

Took over 2 hours for delivery NOT ACCEPTABLE

Absolutely terrible! We ordered food from here and we still have yet to receive it. Attempted to call them to discuss and all numbers are “incorrect” or “not in service”. Blatant disregard for their clientele and utterly incompetent! High advise you avoid ordering from here!

Ordered over an hour in advance for a set time. I know it's not going to exact but 30 minutes was poor.

Considering the food was ordered at 5.45pm and at 7.45pm I am still waiting for it to be delivered with an expected time of 8.45pm, the delivery service here is a joke.

Delivery great . Chicken Shish meat dry and cold miniature naan bread no salad or sauce had to add my own defeats the object really. Rest of order ok

Delivery time kept changing which wasn’t a massive issue but the quality of the food wasn’t great - the bread was rock hard, kebab meat not very nice at all. Have ordered before and never had a problem but this time round it was not nice at all.

Terrible. Time kept jumping up 20 minutes on the app. Making me believe that the food wasn’t going to come. 10 pm 2 hours later gave up n cooked myself. Only for the food to turn up. As you can expect I was very disappointed. Disappointed with the app the chip shop. What made things worse was that there was no way to contact them or cancel the order. It’s done now. I would like my money back

Kept changing time of delivery.when arrived chips were more like scraps & the few normal chips looked & tasted like thered just been dipped in oil then taken out. Disappointed as usual hve no issues.

Absolutely gutted ..just spent best part of £30 on a chippy and it was horrible ...had to throw it away...chips were hard and old not fresh at all.. I worked in a chip shop for 8 years so definitely could tell. .the pies were funny tastings to ..the only nice thing were the sausages...never again will I go to oh my cod again

Absolutely shocking how they charge £9 for the tiniest little kebab, all food to small nothing to it don’t think the whole order would feed a child.

Never had a problem with an order, it tastes great and arrives quickly 👌

I ordered 2 Large cheesy chips and they came back small cheesy chips!.

Chips tasted of flour. Chicken burger still frozen in middle absolutely disgusting never again.

Chips were cold and mushy fish was excellent so I just ate the fish

The chicken shish on the spit looked lovely and fresh but what you get is all dry bits out of the pot that have been sitting ages. The warm salad on top of the counter in this hot weather should be in the fridge below. Tiny pot of chilli not even wrapped up leaking all over the bag. waste of money felt ill all night never again.

I was given a PIN number when I ordered, never had one before. Asked the delivery man if he wanted my PIN number and he said Just Eat don’t have them. I showed it to him on my order and he said it wasn’t anything to do with Just Eat, it was from the fish and chip shop. Good start!

Very disappointed. Just collected a old stale piece of fish with floppy batter and so unpleasant the dog wouldn't eat it. Fobbing customers off with this kind of produce is not good business.

Order placed at 16:54, but wasn't delivered until 18:50! It took nearly two hours to make a 10 minute journey??? Absolutely disgusted.

Absolutely the best chips in Colchester. Very clean too. The staff are very pleasant. Food was very fast (only for 5ish minutes of waiting) service so truly fast food! Will definitely be coming soon!

kebab meat was very dry, lamb was very chewie

Kebab meat had about 5 pieces in it, which was also hard, burnt and cold. Pitta was hard from being cold and salad tasted like it was drenched in vinegar. Delivery time was great.

Amazing service, great delivery and superb food.

The main thing that let the food down is the batter. It’s mushy underneath. I can’t understand why it would be. They need to rectify the issue as it really spoils the fish. Definitely won’t be going back. Also, would be interested to know what their food hygiene rating is as there was nothing displayed. The guy working out the back was wearing filthy clothes. Not a good look!

Disappointed with the portion of chips. ordered a large was barely enough for a handful between three people. The restaurant have started using cartons. and at £4.50 for a portion of LARGE chips, this simply is a rip off. Customers will start to walk away if this doesn't change. it's a shame as this kebab takeaway was the best locally, but things like this will let them down. please don't get greedy, I know prices have risen. but please don't rip off your loyal customers. Me being one of them.

I haven’t been here for a while and wish I hadn’t wasted my money! I asked for a small cod and chips - what I got was a small, but barely cooked piece of fish and a huge pile of soggy chips. When will I learn..?!?

Very very greasy fish, I had to air fry it as it was also cold. Chips were not much better.

When you witness again the only fish and chip shop manager and staff in town so horrible and only target-bully-harras the Asian delivery partners then you know they are from the third world East EU....

WHY is the DIC boss always so rude to the Asian drivers and why is the staff DIC Ahmed who has both hands full of disea scary working in the kitchen??

The food was divine! I would say the large portion size for the donner kebab was quite disappointing I was expecting more hence why the 4 stars but it did taste lovely

Hi guys - last time you forgot the sauces, this time you've forgotten the salad.

Ordered a burger with no salad and a standard kebab which should have come with salad etc. ordered arrive and when opened it there was no salad or chilli sauce.

Am shocked am writing this been going to this place for years when passing going home which is 20mins away when I arrived the two guys where arguing over how much needed to charged to another customer they where getting mixed up with orders and one order went to the wrong customer the customer come back to say this is not my order after he had left the shop and had opened the order for the guy to say so “oh” put it to the back for the the other guy to re wrap it and and give this to the correct customer this is basic health and hygiene broken which when I explained this to them they tried to say it did not happen nor did they call the customer back to sort the issue out no surprise I will not return with this going on till I see charges

Food was completely over cooked to the point it’s not even safe for eating. You’re supposed to chuck old food out not serve it when you get an order

Food was delivered and the 2 main items were missing….. 2 pieces of medium cod!! There is no phone number to ring and speak to anyone. The remaining food was cold and not enjoyable at all. How can a fish and chip shop forget to serve the fish… absolute joke!

there was no sald for the big Kebab.the sald for the chicken kebab was very small.the chicken nuggets were not in the order

An item was missing from my order. I had it replaced and it arrived 45 minutes later. By that time the rest of my meal was freezing cold
