Oh My Cod in Colchester

Nice and on of my favourite place for cod fish

took 1.5hours to deliver and food turned up cold.

Order never arrived. Contact number doesn't work. No idea what's happened but no option to cancel as it's saying it's arrived now. It's 2 hours 20 minutes since the order. Absolute joke. Won't be ordering again from here

The batter on the fish wasn't cooked, it was all soft and sticky.

I got my order on time.In fact, I got it a bit early.What was great and it was absolutely delicious , very tasty Very good quality and the delivery Who's very good indeed Definitely five star service

Delivery time changed 5 times! Ordered at 5.09pm arrived at 7.19pm. Arrived cold! OH MY COD was my favourite F&C restaurant. Never again!

Only complaint is the Stamp card discount was ignored. Lovely bit of fish and chips tho. Xx

Driver sent me a message, informing me he had left my food somewhere and for me to find it.

We ordered through just eat. It said it would be with us at 1.30 then 2 then 2.30 then 3 then 3.30. It’s just not good enough.

Apart from being late, 2nd order running, the food was fine and hot.

I never leave a review because your food is absolutely smashing and never had any problems. Outstanding

We love OMC, always use them for chippy or kebab. Usually we collect but delivery was good. Chips are always super tasty and all food cooked perfectly

I live in Mersea I would rather travel and buy from oh my cod As The Portions of chips are double to what I Get living on the island. The food is always fresh staff always friendly and they are not stingy

Order was made 16:32 and delivered at 1807 food was cold all of it like it been sitting for a while always order of these but this time it was shocking no number to contact them ver disappointing to be honest

delivery person was great and very friendly, but get fed up with the app. tells you a delivery time but every time you check to see how things are going the time has risen by 5 minutes, so why give a delivery time if your not going to stick to it

Lovely fresh hot food delivered on time

There must have been an error with the mapping as our dinner went to the other side of town and sat in one place on the map for 15 mins or more. I made a complaint. The driver then turned up but map still showed him as being a long way away. He was very upset when I told him I’d complained because he’d brought the food straight from the restaurant, which was proved when I opened it. Also I have tried to rescind my complaint as this driver had been here before and is a nice person. So sorry

We used to love this restaurant but today the Food was awful! Won’t be coming back anymore, this isn’t the first disappointing order we have received and the portions getting smaller and smaller n the price going up. Today wa she last straw

Best half pounders around very nice meal

start that again quality of the food was brilliant. I had to go down the road as the time was getting later or later a driver wasn’t available and when there was one available by that time I picked it up myself the driver should not be getting the money for this delivery as he did not deliver it, I have the money back on the delivery please.

The food was excellent as always but it was just a bit annoying that my order arrived so late considering I'd asked for the delivery to be one hour from when I ordered it. I would still order from Oh My Cod.

Simply the best, better than all the rest…

Ordered online then 40 minutes after the order was accepted received a message to say the order had been cancelled with no explanation, now have to wait a few days for refund to come through, if you can't fulfill the order them don't accept it !!!!!!

Overall the food is good but ordered through just eat and again they forgot one of my food items. Not exceptable . Sons nuggets.

Lovely kebab etc only thing was the curry sauce was a bit lumpy and my grandson wouldn’t eat it

Can't beat this place for value for money , the portions are massive . Staff were really friendly and it was really busy when we visited . We will be returning .

the delivery time kept getting pushed back and took around 2 hours from ordering to recieve and we were missing a curry sauce

I ordered at 5.14pm & it said estimated delivery 6.05-6.15pm.But it didn't arrive,I tried to call the restaurant but number listed doesn't work?. Tried calling just eat but message told me customers can't call?.8.15pm food delivered!.

Dont think they read my notes on my actual order as I requested certain things for a reason which was annoying and then I didn’t enjoy my food as much.

Cold chips said only salt and there was vinegar on them aswell

Batter on cod undercooked sadly. Used to love this place but feel it might have gotten bad which is sad.

Fresh fish, always cooked to order and chips taste nice. Fish & chips are served in boxes and they have a really nice curry sauce. The large portion of fish is very generous. I always get my fish & chips from here.

Always collected in person here, never a bad experience. Lovely, lovely staff and always treated well. Food has always been great, hot and delicious.

Very disappointed, chips were great .. but .... battered sausage was not fresh and rubbery and my £10 cod had so much batter that although the fish was cooked the batter was inedible and raw inside ...

Delivery stated 18 37 delivered 18.40 perhaps i should just give one star.

First time I’ve ever had a poor meal from Oh My Cod… food was lukewarm, one piece of fish was all batter with about 3 mouthfuls of fish in it plus the chips were all small and hard. Not good. Delivery was 18 minutes late but don’t think that was the driver’s fault as on the order I requested for 12.30 it said expected 12:50-13-15. I wonder if the shop got it ready at 12.30, might be why I had to heat it all up in the microwave- I only live a 5 minute drive from the shop. Very disappointed

Considering the food was ordered at 5.45pm and at 7.45pm I am still waiting for it to be delivered with an expected time of 8.45pm, the delivery service here is a joke.

Took over 2 hours for delivery NOT ACCEPTABLE

Absolutely terrible! We ordered food from here and we still have yet to receive it. Attempted to call them to discuss and all numbers are “incorrect” or “not in service”. Blatant disregard for their clientele and utterly incompetent! High advise you avoid ordering from here!

Ordered over an hour in advance for a set time. I know it's not going to exact but 30 minutes was poor.

Delivery great . Chicken Shish meat dry and cold miniature naan bread no salad or sauce had to add my own defeats the object really. Rest of order ok

Delivery time kept changing which wasn’t a massive issue but the quality of the food wasn’t great - the bread was rock hard, kebab meat not very nice at all. Have ordered before and never had a problem but this time round it was not nice at all.

Terrible. Time kept jumping up 20 minutes on the app. Making me believe that the food wasn’t going to come. 10 pm 2 hours later gave up n cooked myself. Only for the food to turn up. As you can expect I was very disappointed. Disappointed with the app the chip shop. What made things worse was that there was no way to contact them or cancel the order. It’s done now. I would like my money back

Kept changing time of delivery.when arrived chips were more like scraps & the few normal chips looked & tasted like thered just been dipped in oil then taken out. Disappointed as usual hve no issues.

Amazing quality of food as always from here, have never been disappointed either when ordering for delivery or visiting the shop in person.

Absolutely gutted ..just spent best part of £30 on a chippy and it was horrible ...had to throw it away...chips were hard and old not fresh at all.. I worked in a chip shop for 8 years so definitely could tell. .the pies were funny tastings to ..the only nice thing were the sausages...never again will I go to oh my cod again

Absolutely shocking how they charge £9 for the tiniest little kebab, all food to small nothing to it don’t think the whole order would feed a child.

I ordered 2 Large cheesy chips and they came back small cheesy chips!.

Chips tasted of flour. Chicken burger still frozen in middle absolutely disgusting never again.

Chips were cold and mushy fish was excellent so I just ate the fish

food was lovely and the delivery was very quick so didn’t have to wait long. Would definitely recommend and come again

The chicken shish on the spit looked lovely and fresh but what you get is all dry bits out of the pot that have been sitting ages. The warm salad on top of the counter in this hot weather should be in the fridge below. Tiny pot of chilli not even wrapped up leaking all over the bag. waste of money felt ill all night never again.

I was given a PIN number when I ordered, never had one before. Asked the delivery man if he wanted my PIN number and he said Just Eat don’t have them. I showed it to him on my order and he said it wasn’t anything to do with Just Eat, it was from the fish and chip shop. Good start!

ordered 2 medium cod and large chips for me and my wife through deliveroo ,,, absolutely outstanding fish and chips , beautiful fish and quality chips , i wouldn’t get my fish and chips from anywhere else A1 thankyou you never disappoint 👍
