Blood expensive for a burger! (It was a really nice burger tho) chips were crap. Really let down by the lack of atmosphere.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. He told me about the ordering and the choices of burgers & hotdogs as I am new to Five Guys in the UK. I am sure that I will visit again!

I’ve always loved five guys. I even worked at five guys myself - love the atmosphere, love the people & I love the vibe. The food is top tier. However the fries PLEASE PLEASE the fries nowadays is tasting like cardboard😭don’t fry them for too long and don’t let them be too soggy, also don’t make them too salty likewise with the cajun😭 I ordered my food from Colchester five guys - my food was great but my fries tasted like cardboard. I had to chuck them away! No hate towards five guys x but let’s improve the fries please. Lots of love ❤️

How was five guys I ate the most expensive burger 🍔 in the world yesterday. So it goes like this, mmmm, I fancy a burger love, shall we pop into 5 guys love why not . So I ordered a 1/4 pounder for the wife and got myself a bacon burger Two sets of frys and to top if off a couple of shakes very nice I thought And much is that, please, that be £42 How much I sed as my eyes almost popped out of my head .am I a tight Bastard or just losing touch with the going rate of fast food now days . Got to admit it was very nice but made it taste a tat bitter due to the £42 price tag 😅

Five Guys may be pricier than the average fast-food chain, but the quality and taste of their burgers and fries are well worth it! I’ve visited Five Guys in different places, and it never disappoints. The Colchester branch, however, deserves special praise. The restaurant is always clean and well-maintained, the staff are friendly, and yesterday, I had the best fries I’ve had in ages!

Well done really need to say how good the burgers are!? Yes the burgers are more expensive than most but they are freshly made and you can choose as many toppings as you like and the taste is next level! I can't think of a better burger. Most other burger places have thier own flare but ruin it with a brioche bun which impacts the flavours of the beef, this place don't do that. And the fries.. get them with the flavouring on and use the five guys mayo OMG. Drinks machine is free refills which is nice. Staff are always pleasant. I really like the Colchester one as it's never crammed of people unlike the ones in the city. Here you can relax and eat

£6.35 for cold fries - not worth the extortionate price!

Great service today from Rayaan. Ordered just a grilled cheese. Had a quick chat about how tired we were/how my day was. He then offered me a free drink which I wasn't expecting. Very kind fella. Thanks Rayaan I'll be back 😊

I have mixed feelings about this. The burger was perfectly done as I ordered and came out even bigger and more cheese than I expected, great grilled onions and pickles. Definitely filled a gap. But, the burger patties themselves need more seasoning, the beef was not tasty enough. Work on that and you'll have a win. But I do compare all burgers to Patty Mac's in beach street at Felixstowe.

The fries were far too salty to eat! This has never been an issue previously. i had to leave the fries completely because of this.

The bacon inside the burger is completely burned and also the whole food is cold . Fries cold , hot dog cold … first time I ordered but it was the last too. Very disappointed for £24 having burned food and cold

I walk in by myself, a staff member called ryan is serving me. He lets me try both chips seasonings, a milkshake and a friendly face to speak to. Give ryan a raise!

The best Five Guys I've visited hands down. The food is as good as any other branch, FG are remarkably consistent there, but the staff at the Colchester branch are brilliant. Friendly and fun, just the absolute benchmark for service.

The delivery was at least 10 minutes late from the time it initially stated it would arrive which explains the cold chips. The burger also had no bacon which is charged extra and was missing a few fillings which I asked for. Which is a five guys issue not a problem with just eat. A shame because I never normally have problems with 5 guys or just eat. I understand it is a bank holiday weekend so you are busy but this hasn't been my best experience

cold tasteless and chips hard

Ordered on deliveroo and the chips were completely upside down, cold, burgers squashed with a drink on top of them making a massive dent in one. I wouldn’t care but it’s very expensive.

The food was ordered at 17:50 and has just been delivered stone cold. I demand a full refund and compensation. This is shameful service and I will never order from this site again

Food was so cold, chips were inedible they were so cold! Shakes were half melted. And for ordering a large chips only half a cup arrived.. five guys are famous for their chips but these were definitely old and stale. So upsetting after working all day..was looking forward to this. I won’t order again

Best burger I had. Chips are brilliant they are cooked in peanut oil. Free peanut too! Wouldn't go if you are allergic to peanuts! The staff are really nice and polite to their customers. And the place was clean too.

Very nice but very overpriced for what you get

Service was fine, no queue but food was expensive (£12+ for a burger and fries) and it wasn't pleasant to eat. Burger was greasy and served in a soggy bun, fries came in a huge portion (I ordered small size) and were so over salted as to be inedible. Food ended up in the bin I'm afraid.

The burger never disappoint. They are the American burger you always imagine but rarely get - and as such they are worth the extra money. It's never been really busy when I have been there, so not as much atmosphere as I would like.

I ordered a burger and a portion of chips for delivery, they just packed the chips in a disposable water glass. There were chips all over in the package. The taste is good but the packaging is very bad.

I waited an hour for 5 milkshakes I ordered 2 chocolate Oreo 1 chocolate 2 strawberry got 3 chocolate Oreo 1 chocolate 1 strawberry cost 31pound now have 2 kids arguing as both only like strawberry

I waited two hours for the food and in that time, it said it was preparing my order. I ended up having to reorder from a different place because I didnt think it would turn up. It turnt up two hours after I ordered it and in that time my second order was already there. Very bad timing and no communication

Chips where cold and burger was standard

I love a burger and this has to be one of the best I have ever had. Freshly cooked with the toppings I asked for. Fries freshly cut and cooked, a huge amount that was shared by 2 of us. Not sure if it's just this restaurant or they all have great staff. Service is spot on.

Very nice overpriced burger and chips.

I like this place when I really would like to eat fast food. That happens rarely, so I prefer this place over other fast food restaurants. The food quality is above average. Fresh, nicely served, tasty.

Best burger I’ve ever had. Staff are patient and polite, property is clean and spacious and don’t get me started on the fries. Well worth the extra money for a proper burger and fries. The hot dogs are pretty special, too, and the milkshakes will fill you right up…especially the Reese’s one. 🤤

Food was great. Delivery time kept changing every 10 mins for 45 mins. Was supposed to be delivered at 20:00. Got here at 20:49.

The burgers are good, real american ones, but you have to add at least something to make them tasty. The personnel is always polite and helpful. The atmosphere is a little depressing, but free nuts as you wait for your order makes it bearable!

Visiting Colchester area and decided to stop in for some grub. The food was great as always but what separated this from all the other Five Guys that I've been to across the country was Paul. Paul was happy, helpful, and enthusiastic, an absolute credit to both the restaurant and the brand. 10/10. Thank you.

They ave changed cheese to a substitute which tastes synthetic. Ruins the food, such a shame and not acceptable when they charge so much.

Tasty burgers and chips. Visited with my grandson as a treat for his birthday- he loved it! He also had a very thick like ice cream Oreo milkshake. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, it wasn’t cheap and I found it quite messy eating the burger which consisted of two patties of meat without cutlery as was really an expensive takeaway. Despite this the burgers were the best I’ve had in a long while so now I know what to expect would go again but would make sure I had wet wipes.

I usually really enjoy five guys however the experience today really shocked me as the fries were so burnt and the burger was so deconstructed we could not even eat it.
