Tossed in Hertsmere

Massively disappointed in both of our orders- chicken was minimal in one wrap and I ordered extra halloumi in the other to find there was 2 SMALL chunks of under cooked (if at all) in the whole thing. Both wraps were soooo bland and overpriced - just completely tasteless. It was our first and last time of ordering from there unfortunately. Wouldn’t recommend.

Stopped here for breakfast and decided to try something different and was certainly not disappointed by the offerings. I ordered the Mexican eggs which was cooked to order and was delicious. The great thing here is you can take off things you don’t like and add extras. Would definitely recommend.

Tossed is a place i hadn't used before but we were on a pit stop visit, its was slow service, seemed like cheap food and not worth the visit.

One salmon ceasar and one grilled chicken ceasar. We went large for 80p. Plenty of fillings made fresh and tasty fresh.

The staff tell me half the self service terminals haven’t worked for months and their IT company won’t listen to them, and then I end up not getting a receipt on a terminal that’s meant to be working! The guy then has to read out my custom salad to the guy making it from the till (not realising I had paid extra for double on some items). I’m already cross that they won’t accept my virtual Blue Light Card (even though I had ID) and then when I ask for a refund, he can’t get the machine to work! Unless you have a Masters in engineering, I wouldn’t bother. Go somewhere that actually make it easy for you to order and pay.

I actually make a point about planning motorway trips around visits to Tossed! The food is excellent - custom selections and lots of healthy options at reasonable prices - far better than most service station offerings. The staff here are very good - helpful and friendly. A nice place to stop and get some decent food with pleasant service.

Having been to Tossed before and been happy this time was very different.I have various allergy problems and other prohibited foods and was always pleased to be able to pick what I liked out of all the containers. This time 2 very young and inexperienced people told me to look at the tablets. They seemed not to know what was available. I went through the menus on the computer screen and found nothing I was able to eat without having something removed. I went back to the counter told them this and they looked at me then at each other ,shrugged their shoulders and smiled. tossed bye bye Jonathon

I visited South Mimms Tossed yesterday evening approx 6.45pm. I ordered a vegetarian Falafel chipotle Medium Salad. After getting half way through my meal i discovered raw chicken in my salad. I took the salad back to the tossed kiosk and they apologised and gave me a fresh salad. I am so dissatisfied with this; firstly I am a vegetarian so there should have been No Meat in my salad as i ordered a vegetarian option, secondly the chicken was raw. About 7 hours after my visit (I have not eaten anything since tossed) i started vomiting and have very bad stomach cramps. I believe they have given me food poisoning. Avoid at all costs.

Great ideas, poorly implemented. The outlet has computerized menus and ordering, with only one small menu on the counter and no overhead listings, so immediate effect is unwelcoming, but we persevered. We ignored the menu screen offering to setup an account and ordered breakfasts, paying at the menu terminal. Three members of staff operated on this late June Saturday morning, one washing up, one behind the scenes preparing food and a operating front of house/chef. The salmon bagel was offered with soft cheese, a good sign, and the scrambled eggs with avocado and salmon sounded good. According to the ordering screens, no hot drinks were available except tea? Food was prepared and served on disposable plates, with plastic cutlery available and serviettes ‘on request’. Nothing really Environmental, maybe that’s why it’s called Tossed. The bagel is not easy to get wrong, the cheese was fine, the key ingredient being salmon tasted salty and could have come from a can, as there was no sense of it being sliced, more likely mechanically recovered? Similarly with the scrambled egg, a scoop of cold salmon (same type) and a scoop of avocado. Sometimes I wonder who taste tests such meals? We left disappointed with our meal and ~£8 lighter. The adjacent outlet was Harry Ramsden’s, where we bought two coffees for £5, and could have had a less healthy but more satisfying breakfast.

Thought I would try something different as normally always have a subway. Halloumi wrap had two bits of halloumi and full of bland tasting salad over priced and rubbish staff!! Think I will go back to subway!!!

I visited here on my to Dover with my friend. We ordered 2 mighty mexican’s. 1 normal and 1 gluten free. When the guy behind the counter passed them over to us we asked “which one is the gluten free one” his reply was “ none”. We had used the touch pad to order. He just took one back and made another one . The normal one was overflowing with salad, chicken, spicy beans, mashed avocado, cheddar, warm tortilla chips and a warm tomato dressing with super grains. It looked lovely. My gluten free one looked as though it had died. All there was in the box was chicken, salad and avocado. Now I know I’m gluten free but I did expect a bit more as a top up for not having the gluten items in. So in effect i had half a portion, but had paid the same price as the normal one. I left feeling disappointment and hungry.

I visited Tossed on the M25 service area at South Mymms services, I wanted something different for lunch as I was sick and tired of the usual greasy burgers and fries. I chose a nice looking salad bowl that looked delicious and fresh, I really enjoyed the clean and fresh flavours that the very clever salad was made from. It was not expensive and kept me clear from the munches that do not do our waist lines any good. I couldn't make my mind up wether to have the pea salad or the very tasty looking Tommy soup but I plumped for the salad, I'm kind of glad I did.

There's nothing like a healthy option to choose from when at a Welcome Break off the Motorway. And although the salad ingredients and selection were good, it was overpriced for the quality and value. If you are in a hurry, you can also select from pre-made salads as well. Not bad, but not great either.

The place is run by arrogant teenagers who clearly have had little training. The end result didn't resemble the description on the menu...it was expensive and poor quality. Just really really poor.

The food was a nice alternative to the offerings from KFC and Burger King etc. It tasted great and was served reasonably quickly, but was stupidly overpriced. They also use ridiculous amounts of plastic and could easily reduce this waste.

So delighted to see this as, as normally KFC & Macodnalds and sometimes you just need healthy food. Expensive for what you get, however quality is great and staff lovely.

Tossed.i would rather toss it out of the window. Food bland taste bland everything bland.i ordered 1 chicken and haloummi wrap. I chicken wrap and 1 haloummi wrap.the haloummi wrap had 2 pieces of haloummi in it. The chicken and haloummi wrap imhad no haloummi in it and no piri piri sauce taste at all. The reason it is so healthy is because half of the things in it were missing. I also ordered 2 fresh orange juices and as the weather was warm asked for ice i was told i havent got any but can get you some next door if you wabt.wamhat a cheek.when i complained about the bland taste and no haloummi in my wrap i was told you should have bought it to us to see how much was in it. Sorry but i thought it was called a wrap for a reason. As if i was going to sit there and check what was in it and then wrap it up. Could you imagine if you went to mc Donalds and ordered a wrap and then had to undo it to see what was in it mish. Customer service was very bad and service was too. Paid £33 and was not at all satisfied and have emailed tossed for a full refund lets see there reply. Big mistake eating there. Went home to eat in the end as all the family were still hungry

We visited about 19.30hrs on a Friday evening so they had run out of jacket potatoes. However, I had a salad which had mozzarella, chicken and tomato and it was delicious (probably tasted even better as it was half price due to the time!). I would not have paid £6 for a salad but for £3 it was a bargain. Refreshing to have a healthy food option at services.

How refreshing. A healthy option at a motorway services. I cannot rate the service highly enough. I even had an apology from them for having to wait less than a minute for them to make my food.

Shame it seems every time we come this place has just closed, earlier every time. WAS the best coffee at Mimms (admittedly not much real competition) and some tasty food. But they are closed early owing to lack of demand. Try some marketing, people! Doomed by a lack of imagination and by a poor attitude.

I have been here a few times now and every time the staff have been very nice and the food is very good. I will definitely be using when in the area again

I thought I'd try a salad at the services rather than having the same old fast food available. Really wish I hadn't bothered. The scoops are teeny tiny so you get about 3 pieces of cucumber etc. I had balsamic vinegar and it was literally drowning in it. The service was also pretty poor not a smile in sight. Won't be returning to this franchise in the future. Shame because it seemed like it was going to be very tasty :(

Great, love Tossed! Amazing food and smoothies and juices at very good prices. I had an.avocado bagel which was delicious!

Much better Americano here than the Starbucks which dominates the facilities. I've been before and enjoyed the self select ingredients of the wraps. Much better than the high calorie brands in the rest of the place.

I'm on a low carb no sugar regime, so stopping at service stations tend to be a quick affaire as they don't have a great deal of choice for me, but finding these tossed outlets are perfect. This one is smaller than others I have visited but still have enough choice to keep me satisfied. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything I expected. The meal was very fresh even though I arrived late in the day. Would recommend these places to anyone on a strict low carb or reduced sugar diet and this one lived up to my expectations.

Never heard of this place before arriving at this service station. Was expecting a hunt for a healthy lunch option but this stood out. Very impressed with how much they pack into a wrap and it was super tasty! Service was very quick, efficient and friendly.

This visit was a joy - (especially after I had tried the Tossed outlet in Cobham on the way up on our journey where the service was appalling). Here at South Mimms, the woman serving was prompt and efficient. She saw that we didn't quite know how Tossed worked and got us a menu and took us through it. I had a wrap with choice of protein, 3 vegetables options and, from memory, two extras - I had olive oil and another sauce but can't remember what it was. Anyway, it was absolutely delicious - made especially so by knowing it was jam-packed full of healthy ingredients. My husband had a roll full of goodies and also voted it really good. I was able to get a soya milk coffee and he had a milk cappuccino. Service was quick, helpful and caring. Food 10/10 - doubly so as it was fast food. Well done Tossed at South Mimms - you restored my faith in this outlet after the awful experience in Cobham. So glad I gave you a chance and, judging from the customers you had around you, you are are great success.
