Two ladies having lunch midweek. The cafe was fairly busy and filled up quickly. We both had toasties which were very tasty and well presented.
We shared a bowl of home cooked piping hot chips.
Excellent food.
Carolynne, took our order and served the food, she was so welcoming, chatty and proficient.
We didnt feel rushed whatsoever, lovely atmosphere too.
We are going again soon and will book this time to make sure we dont miss out.
Thank you The Cafe Bar
Marco never fails to impress. I'm gluten free and he makes the best gluten free pizza that I've ever had. Decent sizes as well. Always a welcoming place! Thank you
Bobs tearoom is always marvellous. Very beautiful walk to get there no matter where you come from and the drinks and cakes are always well worth the walk. A local hidden gem.
First time was aiming for cafe around the cornor but closed so browsed this cafe.. Stumbled accross shangrila!! As a meat eater didn't realise the place was vegitarian but I really enjoyed a fantastic sandwich, cakes to die for and great selection. A new venue for us to come to!!
Try it out it is great
Another brilliant trip for some delicious food. Went for the Pork Belly Bites Giant Taco and was not disappointed. Absolutely delicious and great chat/banter with Bruce.
Highly recommend a visit
Just been to valley pizza staff are amazing, pizzas are so tasty and cooked to perfection, I asked for half and half pizzas but got two pizzas for price of one. Also selection of drinks was rey good. Would recommend to vegan, vegetarian or meat eaters!
Coffee developed into a very grand sandwich / toastie. It was superb. The ingredients were soooo tasty. The coffee was excellent and good strength. Have called in here a few times over the years and is a return to place when visiting Halifax. What stands out is the staff - always smiling and so nice to customers and each other. A great place worth finding

Didn't quite know what to expect!! The food was fantastic and plentiful! I am vegitarian - plenty of options. Great atmosphere. Will certainly be back!!!
1st March - went back - brilliant again!
Excellent five-course dinner (appetiser, starter, main, dessert, cheese). Fixed menu changes regularly (vegetarian alternatives available, though we didn't sample these).
All dishes are inventive but without gimmicks. Good and reasonably priced wines to accompany. Friendly and helpful proprietors and staff. Lovely atmosphere, candle-lit and informal. Crockery as well as food is home-made. Thoroughy recommended.
What a place! Awesome decor, amazing music, fabulous collection of vinyl and the most delicious coffee. The owner is such a great chap to chat music and coffee with and the selection of cakes looked amazing.
Tiny yet perfectly formed, this hidden gem of a restaurant offers delicious food at a great price. My wife and I were visiting a concert at The Piece Hall and Seoul Food Kitchen is just a few yards from the West entrance.
The food is amazing... The spicy cauliflower - go for the large portion, you will want more of the fluffy, gooey... delicious taste.
Lovely people, great food. What more can I say?
Stayed for bottomless brunch on saturday 11th January was absolutely lovely the food was nice well presented but the 2 ladies servers upstairs who waited on us went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed our drinks were topped as needed all with a nice thing to say and a smile would definitely recommend and will be going again
