Can’t recommend highly enough. Amazing cheese, always a great variety that changes on a regular basis. Always a lovely selection of wine at very reasonable prices. Love that there’s so much local produce. I won’t go anywhere else to buy cheese. I literally drive from Manchester to stock up. A beautiful, cosy shop with a lovely owner who is super helpful and knows her stuff!
Had the lunchtime 4.95 deal - seekh kebab lamb, naan and mint yoghurt side salad. YUM! Will be back. (we were at the Brighouse 1940s event - fabulous - very well attended!)
We have been going to this wonderful little cafe since it first opened. We usually get a take-out, but have also eaten in on occasion. The staff are absolutely first-class, friendly, helpful and just charming.
The cakes, all home-made, are scrumptious and the sandwiches freshly made to order. I can't fault it as a whole experience and whilst it can get very busy at lunch-time, as the people who man it are all volunteers, I trust customers are patient if they have a short wait for the delicious food.
Stumbled across this cafe whilst working away, what a little gem. Food is lovely, good quality and reasonable prices. The staff are fantastic, helpful and very friendly
So happy I discovered this place, possibly the best BLT I have had & they do a good job with the coffee too.
Super lovely staff!
They have a nice selection of what look like home made cakes etc, will be trying on my next visit.
Went to Ripponden to stay with my sister before going on to Sheffield and she suggested we went here for lunch. Set on the ground floor of an old mill now converted into small businesses/offices this family owned cafe has a varied menu which changes daily with both hot, cold and gluten free choices. Two of us had the chicken curry whilst the others had poached salmon salad and a baked potato. Good choice of desserts too and friendly staff with the only downside being that it was a bit on the expensive side. Having said that I would gladly return the next time I come up north.
Deli on the bridge are old school. Great sandwiches/jacket potatoes/salads/burgers etc. for very reasonable prices.
They currently deliver locally if you spend £5, which is only the cost of two breakfast sandwiches. I treat myself to a sandwich every Friday morning and it is always delivered promptly and incredibly fresh and hot.
100% recommended
Booked in advance for a breakfast ahead of attending a football match at The Shay. Less than 10 mins on foot to the ground. Cafe was smartly turned out inside and the bar area led out to a pleasant and colourful courtyard. The staff were friendly and attentive. Even though I'd pre-ordered, my breakfast was cooked freshly. The first sip of the accompanying latte was beautiful.
The bacon was thick and tasty, the sausage was local farm produce standard. Three sausages and three rashers too. Portobello mushroom and grilled tomato completed the ensemble, save for the tastiest grilled chorizo sausage I've ever tasted outside of Spain. Toasted sourdough bread and butter completed experience.
Reasonably and fairly priced too, I will be back the next time I am in the area.
Thanks all at Urban Garden Kitchen and Bar!
Elaine has been giving me my morning coffee for a few years now. Always cheery, service with a smile, cracking coffee. She’s become a friend. Well worth every penny.
After reading the feed back on trip advisor I decided to go and see for myself
Arrived late morning
I loved the subway meals from pontefract subway and knew the owners run a keen clean restaurant there
Plenty of parking front and rear at Halifax
Superbe impressive restaurant
One of the features that subway could have provided in their stores was ice cream and fresh fries to expand on their meals
Well I was in heaven it was everything I could dream for
Extensive fresh subs with yes fries and better still a superbe range of ice cream and cakes and of course fresh coffee
FRESH says it all
After eating a fresh lovely sub sandwich what better than an ice cream desert to finish a proper meal
The staff are lovely people I can't visit restaurants with rude staff
I believe that the owners have achieved a superbe extension of the well proven sub sandwich and built on it to create a top class restaurant
This gets all the stars ticks all the boxes its in the top 3 restaurants I have reported on
I read the reviews and find them to be of great value as to what to expect
Thank you Trip Advisor
