Heaven is a place on earth, fantastic welcome to the best record and coffee shop we've ever found. Owners and staff are welcoming warm and go that extra mile to make you feel welcome. I don't know how they do it at times as it's a hive of activity. They also serve a spanking pint of living the dream a brew developed by the owners and vocation brewery. If your into your beer you really need to try one or two, you won't regret it, and did I mention live performances from some awesome artists. Will definitely be back.

We started coming to Loafers several years ago and haven't been back since before Covid and so were delighted to see it in its new premises. The coffee shop is very comfortable and it is lovely listening to the vinyl. The coffee itself was ok rather than great as it was made far too hot.

Love this place, great coffee and a great source of original vinyl to mooch through while you sup....

What a fabulous place to find when visiting Halifax for an overnight stop from London to watch Barnet play Halifax at The Shay. Great coffee and a wide selection of vinyl from many genres in a very relaxing and friendly environment. Many thanks to the owner Mark for being a perfect host and indulging my music stories. As a big Paul Weller fan, my visit was made even more special by seeing one of his piano's in the shop. I'll definitely be visiting again when next in the area.

Two visits to Loafers on a Saturday. The first for a takeaway coffee & some crate digging. The second visit late afternoon as first stop on a craft beer crawl. Nice pint of Vocation Crush Hour. Nice atmosphere with customers young & old. A must visit local business located in the wonderful Piece Hall.

What's not to like? Loafers is my heaven with a great choice of vinyl, really nice atmosphere and a great bar and coffee shop with seating in and outside. Took advantage on more than one occasion during our recent visit to the town. Great service, with a smile, and super music choice by the owner too.

What a great idea to combine the sale of coffee and cakes with that of music! We resisted the cakes but the coffee and tea we had were both delicious. Was great to sit outdoors, though there was also seating inside. Very friendly staff. Several people - obviously regulars - called by for a chat and to order a coffee, wine or beer. Great ambience. This was our first visit to the Piece Hall. Thanks to the lady in a fab Halloween outfit at Manjo Home for the recommendation.

On our first visit to the Piece Hall (which is excellent) we had a coffee and rest in Loafers. Very good coffee, very relaxing. People who buy vinyl records seem very nice!

After our wander around Piece Hall, we decided to stop for a coffee and cake at this cute little place. Sat outside, we were welcomed by very friendly staff, placed our order and received two lovely hot coffees and two cakes that really really tasty. This establishment is really a shop with capacity to serve drinks and snacks but it does very well!! Definitely worth a visit!!

This venue is great, it is listed as a shop but now it sells beer and wine. Great atmosephere, great music and sound system and lovely owners. It's great to listen to a whole album with the crackling of the records.

Mark and Sarah are lovely and very welcoming. Their cool coffee shop and record store has a cool chilled vibe. Its always nice to try new coffees Mark has sourced. Highly recommended.

Me and the wife travelled from Grimsby , to visit loafers , great record shop with a great owner , the shop is a decent size with seating so you can chill out with a coffee and listen to the music being played , bought two albums , the owner is very friendly and is obviously passionate about his shop , a must visit shop , already looking forward to our next trip , keep up the good work

Loafers is a gem of a shop, in a amazing location.

Went in here with friends on their recommendation. We had pour-over filter coffee and it was simply excellent. Location is in the beautiful Halifax Piece Hall and the combination of coffee with well selected vinyl music seems ideal.

Coffee made from beans chosen to suit your preferences. Good service and a record playing on the counter, don't see that very often!

This stylish coffee and vinyl cafe does the best coffee in West Yorkshire. There is an excellent variety of beans to choose from and the V60 process does them justice.

It’s Easily got the best atmosphere of any cafe I’ve visited. Amazing music and coffee. I personally don’t use vinyl, but coming here has definitely changed me towards getting one. I try and get myself here at least 2/3 times a week. Brilliant customer service, Mark even wears a jacket on Saturdays!

Loafers is my favourite place in halifax, probably in the whole of Yorkshire, I must go in 3 or 4 times a week, and every time I’m guaranteed super music, the best coffee selection and the most wonderful staff, who make the whole place seem like a great big family. The perfect place for any music or coffee lover, luckily I’m both!

The Piece Hall in the centre of Halifax has had millions spent on it to restore it to its former glories and Loafers is one of their first business tenants. It is a shop that the owner - who used to work in finance - had as a dream and now it is a reality. The decor is simple with whitewashed walls and wooden floor. You can buy a coffee and/or cake at the till with a nice range of options including V60. I went for a strong regular cafetiere of coffee for about three quid which I drank at one of the all high tables dotted about the space. One wall is taken up with racks of new and second hand records that are competitively priced. The new stuff is well chosen for all tastes. On the other wall there is a selection of art work of acts that tend toward Britpop and Madchester. I prefer to support indie shops and Loafers is the perfect way to sample two of my great passions done to a high standard.

Loafers in The Piece Hall, Halifax is a clever combination of coffee and vinyl sakes (as the title says).

Wow what a lovely shop/café. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful and brews a delicious coffee. Some great vinyl finds are to be had and I love the art work, I'm going to save my pennies for Xmas pressie for hubby from here! Well worth a visit and the cakes looked yummy!

Great brew, made with proper tea leaves (brews to your own liking). Clean and friendly place. If you're into vinyls then this is the place to go and bring back memories

I have not had a coffee here as yet but as a shop.it is great, lots of vinyl to browse and some wonderful pictures of artists like the smiths and stone roses. Good friendly service, I will be a regular.

Preferred to have coffee and cake here, and support local independent businesses. Was not disappointed, Decaff coffee freshly ground and perfectly brewed. Cakes were a delight, and very light too.

This place is brand new and is located on level one in newly refurbished Piece Hall. It is a modern café with only a few tables and unlike the average café they sell and play great vinyl tracks here. The main point for me though is the superlative quality coffee. They had a number of roasts and will brew it for you in a number of ways including V60 which works best for me. Try the coffee without milk. Prices are reasonable at £3 or less for a brew that can be compared to a glass of fine wine.
