Go quick. Order the tortelloni from the new menu. Order the bread. You will need it for the tortelloni sauce. Order some wine. You don't need the wine, but it will add to the experience, and I'm convinced a bad glass does not exist in this place. Congratulate yourself on having just eaten the most perfect thing available in Halifax. Repeat, often.

My husband and I decided to try here on a Saturday lunchtime after a recommendation from our Air bnb host. They had no tables available at that time but one of the waitresses booked us in to come back in half an hour and took my number. Only 15 minutes later I received a text letting me know our table was ready. We are so pleased we decided to wait as we had one of the best lunches we have had in ages. I had the pumpkin tortolloni and my husband had the open reuben bagel. We also got sourdough and dipping oils and some Greek salad to share. All of it was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again if in the area and recommend to others.

Pre show meet up with friends for wine and food. The new menu has been launched that day, meaning that we could have a much more bespoke experience. We chose charcuterie and cheese platters to share and added salads, breads and crackers. Food quality superb, wine went down very well too……! Staff were amazing-, very attentive and our wine glasses were never empty. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will definitely be back!

Had a fabulous lunch yesterday - a delicious selection of cheeses with antipasto, bread (focaccia to die for) and crackers, all washed down with a very lovely Spanish rosé! We will definitely be back soon 🍷

What a perfect place to visit at the end of a busy week! Excellent food and drinks, great atmosphere and great value. All members of staff were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Booked a meal for two at 6.30 on a Friday night in feb before a concert in nearby square chapel arts centre. We chose Antipasto selection, pumpkin and ricotta filled pasta, Greek salad and mozzarella and tomato salad. We were impressed by great taste and high quality ingredients. The service was fast and friendly and the wine and coffe were good too. Price was reasonable and we would definitely go again. It would be nice to see some desserts offered too.

What an absolutely delightful restaurant! Don’t miss a trip to it if you’re in Halifax. Amazing plates of charcuterie and cheese. To top it off the service and ambience was lovely too. I took my baby in with a pram for lunchtime and they had catered for this beforehand creating space for us. I was really impressed with the selection of different meats and cheese and the drinks menu complimented everything perfectly. I highly recommend a trip, they also do amazing raclette and small plates if you just fancy a nibble. I wouldn’t miss out on dessert either I had the hazelnut tart and it was so delicious. 5 stars all round

Incredible!! These people know how to throw a brunch. The staff are really attentive and your glass is always full. The food selection is plentiful, really good quality a perfect charcuterie selection. Would 100% recommend and will be back soon!

Excellent customer service, great food (if you like cured meats & cheeses mainly). Very nice bar area downstairs too with cocktails and a few bits and pieces to buy - wines, spirits etc. Raclette evenings are beautiful.

My wife and I ate here yesterday, I had the Ruben toasted sandwich, my wife the Italian Stallion. Both were substantial and tasty. They were accompanied with crisps and olives. We also had a couple of half’s of Alhambra lager each. The service was efficient and polite.

We booked Pride and Provenance to celebrate our Golden Wedding with family and friends on the 29th of December 2023. We had a welcome drink downstairs in P&P Markets where the decor and ambience are absolutely lovely. We moved upstairs to have Brunch where we had a wonderful choice of breads, cheeses, meats, smoked salmon, salads and almost anything you could wish for in a cold buffet. Our drinks including beers, wines and soft drinks were continually replenished by the friendly and efficient staff.

Made to feel unwelcome on arrival, despite 5 staff behind bar none of them seemed willing or able to take our order for 15 minutes during which we finished our drinks (waitress could only take drinks not food orders for some reason) so we had to take our hungry kids elsewhere. Unfortunately never got to try the food so can’t comment, though the menu looked nice

I’m saying what others have on the lips that the wines spitty. Particularly reds which taste similar to a throaty gargled wine with extra ash thrown in from the bbq. You can sometimes see the assistants sipping the stuff slowly whilst smelling it.

Interesting venue … we had the smoked salmon and Harrogate sparkling water unfortunately my friend felt unwell nothing to do with the food… I was surprised the toilets were not well maintained

An utter farce from start to finish. Went here yesterday. Upon arrival there were 2 tables free but the waitress spent an age messing with her tablet 'moving tables round' by which point there were 4 free tables. Ordered drinks. After 10 minutes the wrong drinks arrived and were sent back. Ordered food. After 20 minutes another person asked if we wanted 'any more food' and we explained we had ordered. Another ten minutes passed and we were told the waitress had forgotten to give our order to the kitchen. Gave up and left. Hopeless

Absolutely marvellous. Top quality food & drink, lovely well-designed space, and really helpful wiring staff. If you like good charcuterie & cheese and you aren’t averse to an excellent bottle of wine for £35 or less, then this is the place. I am looking forward to coming back!

Attended their Jazz Brunch and have to say what a Great venue! Fabulous food, attentive hosts, free flowing drinks and chilled music vibes. Great mix of ages, food selection mixed in Yorkshire fayre too and as my lovely friend will agree the treasure trove that is 'downstairs' with perfectly mixed cocktails added to the experience. The food was great, especially the halloumi which was served with lots of toppings on a pita bread. Also, the back cheddar and villa truffo cheeses were amazing... I need me some of that cheese. One of the staff members was a bit miserable, to be honest, and got a bit annoyed with me asking her to repeat herself because she was mumbling and I couldn't hear. I am hard of hearing in one ear, so if you're standing on that side of me, I sometimes struggle of you don't speak up. But I do also get its frustrating to be asked three times in a row what has been said. Just a tiny bit more paititnece required 🤣 Literally next door to the piece Hall too so very handy for us.

Thoroughly enjoyed a last minute visit before a gig at the Piece Hall. The service was fantastic and the food & wine matched that. If we’re ever back in Halifax we will make sure we visit.

What a terrific place; we had lunch here two days running and it was exemplary. The staff really know what they are doing and the quality of the food and drink was first class. Simple, beautifully presented, masses of choice, an extensive wine list to compliment all the fab cheeses...proper food selected by people who know and care. We had a cheese plate for the first visit (the selection is superb and so well balanced; the emphasis is on artisan English cheese with some fine Continentals as back up) and today we went for a Greek salad and the Ruben sandwich. They were both delicious. Excellent and very reasonably priced rosé wine as well as a really nice Merlot yesterday. The vibe is also lovely; staff are super friendly and attentive; knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant is a great place in itself. We were delighted to have been able to eat here twice in two days and can't wait to return. Wish we had Pride and Provenance down in the West Country where we're from!

Visited the Piece Hall last weekend and asked one of the shop owners for a good place to eat nearby, she told us about this place, and wow what a fantastic recommendation. The food was absolutely stunning, super fresh, really tasty and beautifully presented. I really couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Honestly comparable to the cuisine we've had in Italy. Really looking forward to going back, and well worth the hours drive!

Date night with my wife after having been given a gift voucher by my manager at work for Christmas. It’s always been highly recommend so at long last we ventured. I’m slightly more traditional in my food in terms of plate menus so was a little hesitant about meat and cheese (given I don’t like cheese) but I can say the charcuterie and dipping breads were excellent. You could really rate the difference between meats you would assume be all a bit samey. A great selection of wine and we managed to choose a Turkey Flat Viognier, when just weeks before we’d been in South Australia and had a camping trip to the Barossa Valley and to the Turkey Flat cellar door on a wine tasting trip. Given its location next to The Piece Hall and many building in the area converted, this is done really well with a modern feel in Victorian stone architecture. It wasn’t too busy when we went at around 6pm so not to loud but still some people ambience which we like. You can choose between normal table and a high table. We chose the high table for that time of dining and perfectly comfortable. Also not to forget we have GF requirements due to coeliac and this was accommodated without fuss with GF bread and all options clearly explained by the person looking after our table. All in all impressed and have recommended to friends.

Great place for wine and a cheese board! Would definitely recommend mid-week, they had a couple of wine specials (buy 2 glasses and get the rest of the bottle free, and also 2-for-1 cocktails on a Wednesday). Really great prices for quality food. Charcuterie looked really good, but didn’t try as my fiancé and I both don’t eat meat. Must stop by if you’re in Halifax! The service is very nice as well.
