Freddie's fowlers in Calderdale

Fantastic little place that does really good food. Called in for lunch and had the ultimate burger which was freshly made and absolutely delicious. My wife had sweet potato wedges with feta and balsamic, all she said was she could happily eat them every day for lunch and tea the rest of her life, think that sums up how good they were! Definitely worth a try if you are in Halifax looking for a bite to eat.

The Big Fac is far superior to any Big Mac you will ever get, visited on recommendation at lunch today (11/10/2024). I will 100% be going back again 👍🏻

Burger was tasty and well seasoned, but fries were the opposite, too greasy and under-seasoned.

No nonsense, honest food - most importantly delicious! We went along for the bottomless tapas and really enjoyed it, Bruce is a great chef and character that makes it a fun experience. Each dish was home made, well seasoned and delicious. We have already booked to come back.

My sister found this place and it was amazing! We were at the Peace Hall for a concert yesterday and had driven from Manchester, so we were in need of good food, and this place did not disappoint! I had the bacon cheese burger, and my sister had the curry burger. The cheese on mine was quite thick, which complimented the burger and bacon, so it wasn't too meaty. Chips were very well seasoned, too. It's hidden away and smallish inside, but the gentleman serving us was so polite, and I'd definitely recommend this place. Thank you for the food it was one of the best burgers I've had! It is very reasonably priced as well.

This is a terrible place, don't go here. The food is amazing, the service is brilliant, but it's a small place and I don't want you people clogging it up so I can't get in. Get a takeaway from here, perhaps; the food on the go options are brilliant, but whatever you do, don't come in here and sample the amazingly tasty options this wonderful chap comes up with! Seriously, you'll hate his amazing balance of taste and texture, coupled with his lovely customer service and chilled and relaxed atmosphere in his place will make you want to while away an afternoon. Go to Gregg's or some other substandard place!! Alright, so if you got to here then you probably realise I love this place. Last time we came here we got potatas bravas, breaded lasagna bites, onion bhaji, and dough balls. The food was immense! So tasty. And the chap is so nice and welcoming! It's a small seating area, so be prepared to make new friends with other customers. He changes the menu a lot, it seems, but equally has a range of regular food if some of your party aren't as adventurous. If you're in the area, pop in and try it out.

I’d heard good things and wasn’t disappointed, decided on the chicken curry burger it was delicious. Me and my colleague have been talking about it for weeks, I went again last week, with the intention of trying something new but went for the same thing again. Can’t wait to try more. Absolutely lovely character that runs it too!

Top place, top guy and the food is next level! You would not walk into a town centre market place and expect this quality of food... anywhere. The ingredients, the dishes and the culinary expertise on display in this cool little corner of the market is always a pleasant surprise. To get it at the low prices he charges is ridiculous. Can't recommend this place enough for any fellow foodies out there or just for anyone who enjoys amazing grub at very reasonable prices. Just needs to do a good barista coffee now 😉

We came across Freddie Fowlers when searching for a bottomless brunch for mothers day. It was take your own alcohol but you had 75mins of food arriving at our table. The food was amazing, full of taste and texture. The owner, chef, waiter was welcoming friendly and knows what he is creating. 💯 recommend and will be visiting again

This is my favourite place to eat in Halifax! Bruce’s banter is top tier and we have always gone away feeling like we’ve been to catch up! The food is just absolutely UNREAL, not greasy or heavy, it’s just PERFECT! Everywhere I go I always find myself picking up the pepper and salt but I have never even looked for it here, everything is seasoned to perfection! We’ve had the burgers and fries, the pizzas and some of the specials and I could go here every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner if my bank balance allowed it, but think that’s a good thing for my waistline though!🤣🙌🏽 that being said, the prices are very reasonable for the food quality of ingredients you get, you will not be disappointed going to this lush little place! And when we win the lottery you’re getting hired Bruce! 🙌🏽

Probably the best food in Halifax and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend the set brunch and the burger challenge is worth a shot. The owner is a really good guy and always has a laugh with the customers while he cooks

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Came Today With My Family & The Food Is Just WOW! Great Prices Too!

Absolutely stunning food! We got the crispy chicken gyros and brie/chutney pizza. Everything is made fresh in the restaurant whilst you’re there, the owner even has a fresh basil bush inside for that extra oomph! The owner/cook was lovely, very friendly and chatty - he was telling us all about how everything is locally sourced and made by himself, and the few things that aren’t are from other local businesses (you have to try the hotsauce!). Overall a great experience, cost less than £15 for two of us for lunch and was in their about 25mins tops - very fast but nothing felt rushed. Will definitely be coming back to try their burgers!

Have now had 2 takeaways from Freddies. Both have been absolutely amazing. The burgers are out of this World as are the pizzas. All freshly cooked. Nothing too much trouble. Wonderful family business & you'd be hard pressed to find better food. Personal fave are the onion rings 😋 Go to Freddie's Fowler's if you want home made, exquisite food with fantastic customer service. 👍

This is one of those “best kept secret” kind of places, you feel super smug with yourself when you find it! Tucked away at the bottom of the market is this tiny restaurant that punches way above its weight. The food is out of this world, the portions are extremely generous and the service is great. It’s a mix of tapas, burgers and pizzas, everything is cooked fresh and there’s a regularly changing menu with some absolutely cracking specials on offer. Outstanding value for money with each portion being around the £6-£7 mark

This place might be small but it's the best tapas I've had! The food was so good and so many seasonings and flavours! I can't wait to go back. Would highly recommend, the food is above and beyond the price you pay!

Hidden gem in Halifax. We visited today after looking at the delicious and inviting menu in the window. Lovely warm welcome from the owner, cosy atmosphere. We ordered a coffee whilst we looked at the menu. (everything looked so yummy). We ordered cajun and lemon halloumi herb bites with sweet chilli glaze, fritta, King prawn tacos and homemade garlic dough balls. The food surpassed our expectations and blew us away. Could have stayed and eaten all day. Thank you so much and we will be back again very soon.

I got the bacon double cheeseburger with seasoned fries and it was without doubt, the best burger I’ve had in a very long time. Blows everywhere else out of the water. I’ll be back with my friends.
