The best restaurants serving Default food in Ironbridge Gorge Telford and Wrekin West Midlands

American tourist visiting Coalbrookdale for 3 days. On the night of my first day of stay I had dinner at Aftab. The host was named Ahmed. Ahmed is a nice man. A local came by for a takeout (in England it is take-away). Ahmed seems to know his regular customers well. I ordered a prawn dish, a cauliflower & potato dish, and garlic nam. Ahmed made a few suggestions. The food was great. I enjoyed the flavors. We discussed the relationship between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. There seems to be tensions between Hindus and Muslims of the Indian Subcontinent. Like China the people of the Indian Subcontinent have an ancient culture, blood rivalries, and cultural divisions. People of under-developed countries need to understand that it is in their own interest to live in peace with their neighbors so their country can be stable. Without stability under developed countries cannot modernize.

it is just the fish it is slimy and not nice to eat

Sadly this pub/restaurant is now closed .I went there with my family aged 12 to 76 . The menu had very good choices of starters mains and desserts. The food was beautifully cooked. The service was excellent, friendly but not overbearing or hurried. The pub is a very clean quaint old English pub with nooks and crannies. My brother and son loved the fact it was a free house and had a good selection of ales and beers. I will defiantly be going back for another meal on my next family visit to the Telford area.( 2014 )

This is now an excellent Thai restaurant - no longer a cafe, so ignore old reviews and enjoy the new experience. Ring to book !

So an amazing Sunday lunch , beef so good and Yorkshire sublime, but was super nice the great service from the very young waitresses they had confidence and great customer service skills and really genuine really made a difference.

Absolutely beautiful cafe. I went there for a rest after a rather traumatic car journey and all the staff were wonderful. They straightaway brought me a glass of water and a cup of tea and toast. I had to insist on paying for it. I was able to relax before carrying on with my journey.

We recently had an afternoon tea here booked through Buy a Gift. Firstly it was advertised the afternoon tea included half an ale but we were only offered tea or coffee. We had 2 small filled brioche rolls and one chicken wing and pork rib each. We had one scone with jam and very little cream each and half a small brownie and half a small cookie each. The food itself was nice but for nearly £40 we thought there was nowhere near enough.

I and 3 others attended the monthly quiz and we were abused by a " local". However the incident was handled very effectively and professionally by the pub owners that we would certainly recommend this pub.

We took our French friends to have a English breakfast and they were amazed at the wonderful food and service we received a great big thank you to all of the staff

Having looked at the website and reviews, we hoped for so much, but underwhelming. Food okay at best, but staff leave a lot to be desired. They have a manner of little interest and cba. The staff couldn't answer the simplest question about the dishes, ie what cheese is on the cheese board? Enquired for more detailed about the menu, and questions couldn't be answered. Wife's steak... tbh was the thickness of a minute steak for a sandwich, and eventhough she requested medium rare, it arrived medium to well done. Asked for a second portion of chips, told would take a few minutes and these arrived within seconds, which means to me they are not cooked to order but reheated at best. Then when you sit in the bar area and have paint peeling of the walls because of damp. Not great.

Don't accept Scottish notes as they cannot prove they are not forgeries. Therefore if you are on holiday from Scotland and want to pay with a Scottish note you'll be disappointed, and made to feel like a criminal passing a counterfeit note in the process. Spoke to multiple members of staff and clearly an instruction from management. Yes it's there legal right to accept what they want, however it's incredibly rude and poor customer service. There is plenty of information from the Scottish banks on spotting forgeries that they could train staff with, it's just lazy small minded behaviour by the management.

I went here yesterday for the first time and had a lovely lunch with my parents and some friends and the staff where very welcoming and polite. There was a good selection of ales which was really nice to see and although it was fairly busy the service didn't seem to lack. So I ordered the chicken and got an entire half a chicken I wasn't expecting that, and all the other food that came out looked and smelled amazing, after we ordered some deserts, I had a orange chocolate fudge cake. Loved it. I will definitely be coming back for another visit and after talking with the landlady about the renovations, ive already booked a room for the summer.

Hi On the 22nd October 2023i placed a order via Just-Eat on arrival the food wasn't of the quality we'd normally had from your restaurant and was also extremely cold... We have visited your restaurant and had takeaways many times in the past and always highly recommend you to friends and family but on this occasion we were extremely disappointed in the food quality I'm reaching out to you now because iv been trying to deal with this complaint via Just-Eat who have now said I need to contact yourselves because I paid in cash

Really mediocre food, and charge way too much for it. Steak was ok but not worth £35! Burgers greasy. Really expected better for the money. We won’t be going back. Positive was service, very attentive, but otherwise a meal to forget.

We visited the Half Moon as a family of 10, it is situated by the river which is in a beautiful location. It was a warm sunny day and we sat outside. We did have to wait a while for food, but we understand it was really busy inside and out, the food was well presented and well cooked and we would definitely eat there again. Well done to all the staff who were extremely busy, you are appreciated 👏.
