I don’t normally review but gone downhill and very disappointing. We’re local and should have suspected something when everywhere but here was busy and booked. Booked in advance for Sunday lunch (for 7) with family who were visiting from Spain. Arrived half hour early, out of most red wine by the glass, said we could buy a bottle, thought he was funny, no barrels of Estrella, we were given the regular menu, I had to ask for Sunday menu, 2/4 items not available, everything else low. Staff were dismissive ‘they’d had a busy weekend’ and we felt like we were an inconvenience. Not even a forced ‘sorry about that’ so we left without ordering. Won’t be back.

Excellent lunch here today. The roasts were delicious and vegetables cooked to perfection and tasty. My son wanted a dish which isn’t served on a Sunday but our waiter recommended an alternative which was very similar and my son absolutely loved it. We were too full for dessert!! It was very busy and we got the impression they were short staffed but all the staff were helpful and friendly and we didn’t wait too long for our food. Overall very good.

we were so excited this was buy a gift present from my family member which was expensive and I don't feel we were given what the voucher cost. On arrival we were taken to our room nice enough but the room was freezing cold we asked about having the radiator put on the person said they would look into it straight away. We decided to go out and have a good look round this took about an hour fifteen minutes as it was cold we were looking forward to getting back into the warmth - no it was still freezing cold! My husband had to go and get someone to come to our room to sort this out I sat in my coat for another 30 minutes before we took refuge in the bar. The meal was ok not brilliant but it was at least hot. Went back to our room which had warmed up but went to put the lamp on and that did not work again it was mentioned and again nothing was done. The TV remote was missing the battery cover In he bathroom there was no toilet roll holder so you had to grab the toilet roll or else risk twisting your back to reach for the roll off the deep shelf. There was a considerable draft from the window and the window latch did not go down all the way - that night there was a live band it was so loud our room vibrated and we could not hear the tv the band played for hours that we only managed a couple of hours sleep. Breakfast was an experience no cornflakes and this was only 9.00am with at least another hour to go and with guests coming from the sister hotel I wouldn't mind but there is a Co-OP literally 200 yards at the most from the Malthouse and cornflakes £1.00 a box. Orange juice was strange tasting, filter coffee charged for as an extra. We went for a meal the second night at the Swan I asked for a tomato juice - no they don't stock it asked for a cup of tea with soya milk again no they don't provide that when the bill arrived we checked it and saw that we had been charged for a gin which we had not had or ordered this was rectified but just the final straw if we asked to speak to a manager we were informed I am only covering,

What an awful place. I stayed for 3 nights and it was the worst 3 night stay iv ever had. First night was a Saturday night and they had live music on downstairs. It was soooo loud that the toilet seat and shower door were shaking for the whole gig. I had the tv on full volume and i still couldnt hear it. Awful considering i was there for business and had an all day event the next morning. The following morning i went down early for breakfast and it was disgusting downstairs. Stunk like a nightclub toilet everywhere and there was toilet paper and glasses on the floor still. Our shower basin was blocked and whilst showering the water kept building up and nearly overflowing the basin so you could only shower for about 4 minutes. I reported it but nothing got done. The last night we had no hot water at all from the taps or shower. What a joke of a place. I think the local council should inspect this place and actually check if its actually a viable place to let people stay.

Absolutely love this place and have been a few times with my partner, the food is good traditional pub fodder but with a twist. The staff cannot be more helpful and tonights experience can only make me proud of how the staff dealt with a particular member of public. We had just finished our meal and couldn't help but hear the way one of the female members of staff was being spoken to by a particular gentlemen, he seemed to be unhappy about his order and this was dealt with politely and with respect, unfortunately the gentlemen spoke so out of turn to her I don't think I would have been able to have kept my cool as well as she did This is a testament to fantastic service even in the the face of adversity. I'm sorry they had to deal with that but am proud of their professionalism.

Stayed for a week in accommodation next to the malthouse. Room wasn't great had cobwebs in corners of bedroom. Bathroom had cobwebs around the edges of floor mould inside shower at the bottom and the roll top bath had seen better days definitely needed renewing so didn't use. There wasn't much parking only room for 2 cars really. The food in the malthouse was very nice and the staff helpful . I have a dairy allergy and asked for soya or non dairy milk on my arrival for breakfast was told they only have dairy so couldn't have any cereals or coffee.

It will be brilliant if more GF options were on the menu.

Stayed for one night as a couple in early August. Positives: +Friendly and helpful staff on arrival. +Good location in Ironbridge. +Good WiFi. +The bed was comfortable and the bed linen was clean. +The bathroom was spacious and clean with a good shower. +A good bar downstairs. +Reasonably priced for a room. Reasons why I didn't give 5 stars: -Not a quiet night's sleep. We stayed in a room called "The Back Room". This was a good room however it is clearly located by the office, staff room, supply cupboard or something as there was a lot of noise from staff members during the night walking back and forth. At several points there were loud conversations carried out outside our room. Finally, an alarm must have been set for the bar downstairs when they closed for the night. This is also particularly loud and woke us both up as it sounded like the start of a fire alarm.

The food was delicious but the service was atrocious. We had a miserable waitress and she could not be bothered. She served our main courses and then never came back. she walked past quite often but it was impossible to attract her attention as she was not checking on any of the diners. My partner Terry had to go over to her to ask for desserts and she handed him the menu which we looked at in our seats. He looked over for her to see if she was going to come to take the order but had to call her over. On the menu it said to ask your waiter which flavours of ice cream were available so i asked and she looked at me like I was a thorn in her side, (I must mention she never smiled once and was distinctly unfriendly), replying, "The usual." She stared at me and I said, "I asked because it says on the menu to ask your waiter." To this she said, "Strawberry, chocolate, vanilla." I wanted to ask if I could have a scoop of each but was reluctant to bother her any more as it was clear that I was a nuisance to her. I doubt that we'll go back to this restaurant even though the food was lovely. Everywhere else we went in Ironbridge the service was fabulous, the waiters and waitresses couldn't do enough for you, plus they were all smiling and friendly. The waitress we unfortunately got landed with at The Malthouse is in the wrong job. She needs one where she has no contact with people!

Booked to go with friends. The food was nice, not excellent though. But the service was extremely poor, took ages for drinks to come to the table. Appeared that they needed more staff. Drinks orders were sometimes wrong and constantly had to keep asking. They had no prosecco at all, and some wines we'd asked for were also unavailable. Very disappointed. Not sure we'll be heading back anytime soon!

We ate dinner here last Tuesday night and have never been more disappointed. We understand you were short-staffed but that is no excuse for the service we got. Although the food was not too bad the service ruined it all for us. When our food arrived it was warm but after asking for cutlery 3 times and 10 minutes later we had to go and find it for ourselves by which time our food was cold. 4 requests for ketchup which we had requested when ordering also resulted in nothing so had to go in search from another table. A smashed glass also resulted in 20 minutes and 4 requests to clear it up. Several of the things we ordered turned up wrong or not at all. Spending £170 and getting service like that is unacceptable. Understand why you take payment when ordering because otherwise I am sure many people would refuse to pay. Emails sent after our visit have also had no response

My partner and I visitted here for drinks a few nights ago. We ordered the long island iced tea and a june bug. The June bug was nice, however the long island iced tea that costed around £7 tasted purely of coke and lime, clearly missing the 5 white spirits. We spoke to the waitress and ordered more drinks, we asked for the long island without ice and less mixer. The drink arrived and tastes exactly how it should, however our complaint about the previous drink was ignored and we were still made to pay £7 for coke and lime.

First and last visit to the Malthouse. The evening was disappointing from the start. Extremely long wait to be asked if we wanted drinks and then further long wait for them to arrive. Mine was a tonic water but it came with no ice or a slice. The wait for the food was nearly 2 hours - this is despite us pre-ordering - clearly no point in that. When the food arrived it was cold. We were given no cutlery despite repeatedly asking for it so we had to go in search of these ourselves. Despite being starving you can’t eat lasagne without cutlery. A friends starter never came. A further lengthy wait ensued for those who had preordered desserts. Not once did I hear the few staff apologise or even appear friendly and courteous. When we finally go the bill it was for the wrong group. This really summed up the evening!! I’ve never been at a pub when people ask for drinks to be told no they were too busy!I managed to get 2 in 4 hours. I won’t be returning.

We pre-booked, waited 20 mins for drinks order to be taken, over 1 hour for food. Staff were chatting in restaurant area whenever you went inside to use the restroom. No one checked to see if further drinks were required, no one asked if the food was okay, when we asked for a drinks order on arrival of food there were two girls serving food & neither came back after saying they would send someone to take a drinks order, they seemed to blank you when you tried to get their attention. Really need staff training, everyone on our table of 6 were disappointed by the level of inadequate service. Food was average but okay but wouldn’t go back due to staff. We were going to order desserts but decided we didn’t want the establishment having any more of our money! Do not recommend! Serious training needed!

Disappointed that our first night out was marred by sloppy service and continuous vapers! The frontage of the pub is great- large paved area 2/3 covered with an marquee roof. (No outdoor heaters though). Most people eating, nice atmosphere and busy. Problem is, as it’s outdoors smokers are allowed-& they were at tables surrounding the diners. Then a group arrived and started vaping- continuously. The vapour was drifting across our table. With a virus that travels in the air- it’s quite unpleasant to be covered in this.. not least the smell! After speaking to a member of staff, I was told that they’d been told to move away from the pub frontage to vape. They took no notice.Managers need to manage and be assertive in these situations. After we were seated- we were promptly forgotten. Had to wave to get attention. Food ok... the usual minute paper pot of ketchup for 3 people (we’d have had a bottle! ).Had to asked for 2nd drinks twice- then they were forgotten. After all this time off- and knowing it’s likely to be busy, I don’t know why the staff don’t know who’s doing what?♀️Apparently, drinks take a long time because bar staff are making cocktails.I’m afraid I’d have to say, allocate someone to cocktails for drinkers- and someone to prep drinks for diners. Diners need their drinks with their food.I hope they get these kinks ironed out because its in a great spot.

Already booked a table but had to wait 20 minutes until one was ready. Service extremely poor, long waiting times for orders to be taken and drinks served, mistakes made with diners bills. Food good overall but £5 for an alcohol free cider than can be bought from the supermarket for £1 is extortionate! Waiting staff rushed and most tables had some problem or other with their visit. Tables wiped but seats were not cleaned in between customers, no checks made whether customers had used the hand sanitiser station on entry. Spoke to other diners who, like us, had visited previously but will not be going again. Customer service has been sacrificed to cram more people in than the venue can currently cope with.

We never expected to need to book a table to eat at a pub mid-week when not in school holidays, but this place was busy on the first Tuesday of September. Luckily the weather was mild and they could accommodate us on an outside table. The staff were all very cheery and friendly, and clearly trying their best to look after everyone with the new ways of working. We overheard discussions about needing an extra member of staff between 6 and 8.30, but we didn;t fee there was any undue delays or drop in service.I had the belly pork with black pudding and cider sauce - it was as good as I remembered from our visit over a year ago, and hubby went for the fish and chips. Both portions were huge, well cooked and well presented.Only minor grumble was at the beginning we asked what beer they had and only lagers were stated, but turns out they had a real-ale on. No drama as we got to try it later instead. These guys are working really hard to look after everyone, and rushing to clear and sanitise tables quickly to allow more customers to use them, a real credit to the establishment. Unfortunately we hadn't had our starters - they'd forgotten those too. This was remedied then later in the evening a further round of drinks also never appeared was they'd been forgotten. The worst bit though was the very half-hearted apology from the manageress who just seemed to want to blame the staff. She just didn't seem to care. We came across The Malthouse as we were staying at its sister pub. It was recommended by someone local. So we went in, after closely following Covid 19 rules, and were shown to a table by a charming young lady called Skye. We ordered drinks and Merry fetches them for us. After deciding whether or not to eat there Merry came up to our table and told us when we were ready to give her a wave and she would come and take our order. She was working her socks off, doing everything from food orders to table service. When we got our food, and I might add that she went and made sure I didn't have the sauce all over it, she made sure we had enough of everything and then I watched her going around doing a great job with other diners. She was a little ray of sunshine, funny and confident. The food was lovely, and we are every scrap. In fact every person in there was helpful and really good at their jobs. She just stood out as she reminded me of myself at that age. We will go again.

This has great potential due to its size and location and huge outside seating area, but lets itself down so much. After a 30 minute wait from ordering 2 lukewarm coffees arrived followed by our food. We ordered a steak baguette well done and a ‘classic’ chicken Caesar; what arrived was a medium rare steak baguette and cold fries and a drowned Caesar. Swimming in dressing the bacon (?) and chicken Caesar was far from classic; the Parmesan slices were hard as though they had been sitting out and the anchovies tasted as old as Caesar.Slow service, cool coffees and poor food; we’ll avoid in future

There are pro's and cons to staying here... firstly the location is perfect, rooms are a nice size, the bathroom facilities are good (excellent shower) slightly cramped WC. Beds are comfy include TV, iron and ironing board and hairdryer. Downside to the room is if you stay in the main pub area you can hear the music from the bar downstairs, the first night of my stay this stopped about 11:30pm (which I did didn't mind) the second night it played beyond 12. The staff who book you in, out of courtesy should advise you of this. Basically if you want a peaceful night sleep, stay in their annexe next door 'The Bakehouse'. Staff in the main and helpful and polite, the outside bar area needs a little more thought in that providing a list of wines, lagers and ciders that are available to order on a board would be better than having to ask all the time, its a nice outdoor area though. Now to the food... its okay I've had worse and also had better. The breakfasts are okay too but a little inconsistent in portion sizes but are arrive fairly swiftly after ordering. All in all was quite enjoyable even after a rubbish sleep on my second night stay.

We went for lunch and although we were seated quickly with drinks the food took a long time to come - many tables were sat around us waiting for food as well and asked so we then asked where ours was. We were told it was going to be cooked now, which was 55 minutes after we had ordered. 15 minutes later it arrived and unfortunately the message for the tapas to be a starter hadn’t been conveyed so that came out with the mains, which to be honest we were grateful for in a way as we were so hungry. The food tasted great and the staff were very friendly. Our waitress came and apologised for the mistake with the main as she was new, which was nice if her. There was a mix up with the bill at the end as something had been added on by accident but we got it altered in the end.The main issues on this occasion was the time we waited - this was not conveyed at the start of the process.

On a rare August sunny day we had a drink in this pub situated in the centre of Ironbridge. During our daytime visit we admired the food that was brought out and therefore booked dinner on Tuesday night. We were seated in the pub like area to the left and although only half the tables being taken it still took over 10 minutes before the menu was handed to us. My wife ordered the salmon while I had the 10oz steak. After 35 minutes our dishes arrived which for the low footfall of diners was a little tardy and inefficient. Although my wife's salmon was tasty as was my steak, the amount of fat and gristle on the steak must have been 3oz in weight and was the length of the knife (see photo). So that's about 1/3rd of my steak being unfit to eat. We pointed this out to the waitress when she asked how was the meal. The reply was just a cursory, "oh, I'm sorry". While we were sat waiting our food we also noticed that the ventilation fan overlooking our table was clogged with dirt and debris (see photo). Thankfully it wasn't in action. We ordered a dessert each and although my sticky toffee pudding was decent, it was fairly dry. But my wife's Pavlova looked and tasted awful. Cheap meringue nests with a couple of squirts of canned cream. The presence of a couple of pieces of fruit didn't enhance the dish. On the whole an experience to forget.

I took my wife here for her birthday and I was very happy with everything. It was a Monday so part of the Eat out to help out / 50% discount and therefore the place had been extremely busy all day and was busy in the evening. All staff worked extremely hard, it surprised me how hard they worked. The barman who served us our G&T's recommend an excellent gin which we hadn't had before but was brilliant and we had a great window seat. The food was excellent and as I said so was the service. We normally come on Fri / Sat nights for the live music but will come again for food. Would totally recommend.

Dirty and unkept accommodation. Damp and dusty. Bed slats collapsed, so had to sleep on the couch. Reported to staff and the reply was “oh, we’ll have to get that fixed” no apology and certainly no offer of a refund. Penthouse facilities state there is a shower. There is not a shower. It’s an attachment to the bath upstairs. There’s no way you would want to step in that thing to even attempt to get clean. Terrible experience and will never return. Mould in all appliances and a duster has never seen its way around that place. Save your money and avoid.

Turned up without making a booking on a very busy ( 8th August ) Saturday evening. All the outdoor tables were fully occupied with people queuing for them. The member of staff organizing tables found us a table in side and informed us the weighting time on food orders was around 35 minutes. ( and added the food will be worth waiting for )Our food and drinks order was taken after about minutes and drinks delivered straight away. The food came about 20minutes after being ordered. The food was well presented and was piping hot. We both commented on how good the food was. The waiting time was minimal with no compromise on the quality on a very busy night.

We booked in to eat here at 20:00 with roughly 5 days notice. I understand was the gov scheme on this day so expected it to be busy. We were shown to our table and automatically there is at least 45 min wait on food. We had a member of our party with a chronic illness who would really struggle to wait at least 45 mins from us ordering. Spoke to the assistant manager and he was completely unhelpful and not interested. We thought this may change later on and some clarity would be given to us but had to wait another 25 mins for someone to come up to us to take our drinks order. We were then told its 1hr 30 min wait on food. So that is roughly 10 o clock eating when we have booked a table at 8. I dont mind an hour wait from when our drinks were taken but 2 hours is just not acceptable, no matter how busy a restaurant is and I wish we would have been notified prior to our booking. When you book in at a time you expect to be served in a decent time. If we were rang and told this we would have politely declined. I found the whole experience upsetting as our guest (combined household) had travelled over 1 hour to come to this meal. The assistant manager would not come and see us but sent a supervisor. She was polite and understanding but the service we received just wasn't up to the standards of the other establishments in Ironbridge I have been too and frequently visit. I live in Ironbridge and would not recommend to my friends or family who live here either. Such a disappointment, we never got our food and felt like we were pushed to the side. Luckily another restaurant in Ironbridge saved our night and were understanding of our situation.

If Ironbridge were to have a hipster area, it's be the Malthouse and the Swan Taphouse next door. As Ironbridge is not exactly a haven for the young, the fact that the Malthouse played Jamie T and The Libertines was pretty cool. We sat in the garden listening to the music of my uni days and enjoying the atmosphere. Great to sit on the terrace and watch the world go by near the river.

Popped in for a drink after a day out in Ironbridge. Sat in the front courtyard area which was pleasant. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Had our dog with us - staff were very dog friendly and even came over for strokes and to give treats. Drinks seemed a little pricey - £9.60 for a cider and pint. However, a nice pub.

Sad to write a poor review but this is the worst restaurant experience I have had in a long while. Greeting was excellent with regard to social distancing and one way system through the restaurant. Clearly explained we would need to be seated inside for eating for the 50% discount as they couldn’t manage outside seating. However, the experience had concerns:1. Table not cleaned and despite our initial understanding that social distancing was being applied, more customers were allowed in to what became an increasingly confined space (we did prebook for this purpose). 2. Drinks order taken 15 minutes from being sat down.3. Food arrived over 1 hour from order without explanation for delay.4. Food came without cutlery. 5. Food was missing side order and sauce for steak.6. ‘Hand cut chips’ were more like McDonalds fries.7. No one came to ask if everything was ok until the table next to us had complained about the service and the manager had attended to them.Understand that these are challenging times, and that we benefitted in some way from the government subsidy on meals, but this is your chance to shine and encourage the public back, not use it as an excuse for substandard food and service.

We visited on the hottest day of the year so far, tables outside were full so sat inside. The staff were lovely and very friendly but obviously rushed off their feet. It's table service currently which adds to the workload for them. As it was lunchtime and 33 degrees outside we chose from the light bites menu. It's all filled baguettes or a Caesar salad. My Mom chose the steak baguette and it was a beautifully cooked and excellent quality steak. She also had a side of chips which she said were lovely.I chose the cheese and pickle baguette as I didn't want anything hot. I was very shocked when it arrived on a from the oven hot baguette on a screaming hot plate. Not great when salad is also on the plate. I like hot food on hot plates, that's important. But who serves cheese and pickle hot? I've never seen this and I'm afraid it turned my stomach. I didn't want it, so asked the waitress why it was hot. She said all the baguettes are served that way. I asked if it could be served cold. The chef obviously had to defrost some white bread and I was given that. A bit dry, but at least it wasn't hot.The menu clearly shows that most baguettes are hot as they have "melt" in the name. But not this one and I expected it to be cold. I think in the height of summer it's very disappointing to only have 1 cold item (Caesar salad) on the menu. The menu itself is lovely and what we saw other diners have looked great. I just wish they had a choice of cold items. Maybe it's just me, but an idea?I'd certainly return, especially for dinner as the menu is lovely.

We visited The Malthouse on a few occasions during our week away at Ironbridge. It’s clearly been difficult for the staff to keep up with the demand of drinks and food during a lovely summer week just after Covid bar restrictions were lifted. The staff handled this very well, especially Meredith, who took charge and delivered. The bar set up outside is getting there. A few more staff would be good but we understood that this is a difficult time. Food and drinks were great. The atmosphere and location is fantastic.

Despite some of the other reviews claiming service is rude here, I don’t agree as our waitress was very friendly- and speedy! They didn’t have every option advertised on the menu, so I had the salmon which was delicious and my partner had the stuffed chicken which was also very nice. The stick toffee pudding we had for desert was very... dense, but still quite tasty.Overall, a very pleasant meal in a friendly pub with a nice atmosphere. Would recommend!

Absolutely shocking service, food and rude staff. Once we had been sat down it took 40 minutes to get drinks which wasn’t a problem as we assumed they were busy and possibly short staffed due to the current situation.During this wait multiple tables including ourselves had been asked what they had ordered by a very rude /abrupt waitress. We then ordered food and once that had arrived it took another 20 minutes to get cutlery that had been asked for 3 times. By this point the food was cold and definitely not worth waiting for. When the waitress came to collect the plates I had mentioned the wait for cutlery which she didn’t seem bothered about. About 10 minutes later I’m guessing the front of house/manager came out and very abruptly said “I heard you’ve complained what’s wrong”. We barely managed to say anything before she walked off. From then on we were not acknowledged or even asked if we wanted more drinks.During the time we had been sat down at-least 3/4 couples had sat down then left due to such bad service and lengthy waiting times for just a couple drinks.I expected a bit of a wait and things to be different since re-opening after Covid but the fact the staff were so rude was completely unnecessary. Another astonishing action was when a waitress collected our paper menus which are now meant to be disposed off ASAP due to Covid-19 but then proceeded to pass them straight onto another table. Which then made us wonder how many people had used those menus before ourselves..Very disappointing visit as the malthouse is situated in such a lovely area that’s very local and generally just a nice place to have a couple drinks or a meal with friends/family.

I went to the malt house last night with my partner , we went to the bar and ordered drinks and unfortunately there wasn’t a table till 8:45 this was at 8pm so we said we were fine to have some drinks until then! We ordered our drinks and went on through to next door where the band was playing we sat down at a table and one member of staff came over and slammed down a reserved sign and went to walk off then explained that a man ‘bigger than you’ (to my partner) was coming to sit here, didn’t ask it we could move etc nothing I thought this was extremely rude and completely unnecessary. We then went over to sit at our table and ordered some more drinks whilst waiting he gave us a tiny glass for a double gin and lemonade. My partner asked if we could have the bigger gin glasses and he explained none were clean, my partner then asked if he could possibly wash one to which he said no. He then gave my partner a flat, warm beer with bits floating around at the bottom! Disgusting! The way we were spoken to made us both feel very uncomfortable to which we decided to leave. This member of staff was extremely rude and cocky and seemed to be very antagonising, we felt like everything was far too much effort.

Attended the malt house last night and was greeted by staff who didn’t no their ass from there elbow. Extremely rude to myself in front of my partner. Tried antagonising me to the point where I refused to stay there any longer and wait for the table so I left. This experience made me and my girlfriend feel very uncomfortable and certainly will not be returning. The staff are shoddy in executing there duties. And the customer service and cleanliness is nothing to be desired. The male in question on 3 separate occasions in the 45 mins I was there tried goading me looking for a reaction. I haven’t always believed the customer isn’t right but on this occasion we did nothing but sit patiently waiting for a table. As I was leaving I spoke to the manager where he simply stated “this is how he is, if you can’t take his banter then this isn’t the place for you” that’s manage material. I give the venue 6 months with the current staff and it will be like a ghost town in there. Use to be such a beautiful restaurant..

Really disappointed!! We booked a table of 8 people back in August for Friday night in December. At the time of booking i was give different time slots so i knew we were not one of the last to book that night. When we arrived last night we were taken into the bar area and shown two booth tables each for 4 people right next to where the band were setting up and about to play. It was very rowdy in the bar and not only were we split up, we were also going to have to eat in a loud bar next to the band and would not be able to hear each other. We got told that the other table we could of had was the high table right next to the bar where people were queueing for drinks. I don't think we should be eating a 3 course Christmas meal on bar stools either!! We are a group of friends that was looking forward to a meal together as some of us haven't seen each other in a long time. I understand it is a busy period but you should not have taken on more bookings than you can seat in the restaurant. And if you had made an error by over booking a phonecall to say you would be splitting us up and placing us in the bar would have been appreciated so that we could have found ourselves somewhere else to go. In future i would suggest put earlier tables in the bar whilst it is quieter before the band starts. We were offered a couple of bottles of prosecco to apologise but we did not feel we wanted to spend money on a meal where we would be split up over 2 tables and could hardly hear each other. At 8.30 last night we had to then find ourselves somewhere else to eat which is not easy on a Friday night in December. I would warn others before they book to check where they will be seated so this doesnt happen to other people in future!!!!

Do not get the American style pancakes unless you want it to come with the fattiest and averagely cooked bacon, despite asking to make sure it was definitely the crispy style bacon you would expected when something is advertised as American style.
