Us & friends stayed here for two nights in our motorhomes in the car park, we arrived around 4pm and when we asked in the pub if it was okay to stay as our friends van is a larger van they told us it was fine as it’s on a first come, first served basis for overnight parking, so all we had to do was give them our registration details & name & the vans were also covered by the cctv cameras!! When we went into the pub later, we had all 3 courses as it was actually our anniversary & the food was AMAZING!!!! It was what we’d call ‘proper pub grub’ and properly tasty and brilliant value, as was the beer!! As the food & location was so good, we returned the next night (same spots in the car park) as we were visiting somewhere local & we ended up having another 3 courses ;-) We left the next morning after having breakfast in the pub (£10 each for a cereals & a full breakfast) before we walked down into Ironbridge before leaving. We would definitely return if we were in the area, as the staff were brilliant, friendly, welcoming & helpful; the food was definitely great value for money & it made a great overnight stay. Definitely recommend 10/10

Been here on a few occasions as i stop here on route to Scotland.Never had any issues until Friday Oct 18th.Had bought 2 drinks previous & on the 3rd occasion i produced a Scottish bank note only to be told that the legal stirling tender was not accepted in the olde robin hood.I asked if they would accept Irish Sterling, this was also a no.The barmaid blamed The Post Office who allegedly dont accept Scottish or Irish British Sterling, which is unbelievable!!There are other bars inthe area,The Swan Taphouse,The Malthouse & The Micro Pub all of whom accept & Irish money so my advice is to go here so that you are not discriminated or embarrsed for having Scottish or Irish Sterling.

Stayed here one night whilst walking in the area. Basically a friendly pub with a few rooms. The bedroom was fine with an en-suite shower. A little dated but suited me, no complaints. A good night's sleep. The bar had an excellent selection of beers. The food was 'pub grub' but well cooked and well priced. Plenty of outside seating. Breakfast was well cooked. The inn is well situated close to all the Ironbridge attractions and is reasonably priced for the area. Would certainly stay again if visiting the area.

It would of been a 5 as we had a lovely stay, we checked in Friday afternoon and left early Sunday morning as we were going to the airshow, we had both evening meals there and breakfast Saturday morning. We checked out early this morning and left the key in the room. Later in the afternoon, my dad recieves a phonecard asking us to return the glasses we took from our room!! We didn't take any glasses from the room, there was 2 glasses in the bathroom. With 2 wrapped hand soaps and 4 tubes of toiletries, in the room was a tea tray with a selection of teas, coffee, sugars, hot chocolate and biscuits. There was a kettle and a kilner bottle of tap water, we assumed that was for the kettle as there was no glasses there, I can only think that when the room was cleaned, dirty glasses was taken out and forgot to be replaced, to be accused of taking stuff and said we didn't for them to say they will take it up with booking.com! Having worked in all corners of hospitality and also being a hotel manager I am not happy. That phonecall has ruined our weekend! Was looking forward to returning but will look at the hotels further along near the ironbridge

This was the strangest experience eating out we have had for a long time. We are local but hadn’t visited since the change of staff. We booked a table for 7.45, arrived at 7.35 and were seated in a cold side room with lots of dogs( my husband fell over one as he tried to leave the room to get to the bar). We were not given menus or told where they were. The rest of the pub was empty so we moved to another warmer area with no dogs. We were told by the landlady that we had to order asap as the kitchen was closing. Unfortunately the warm room was opposite the kitchen where all the staff congregated to stare at us while we looked at the menus. A very uncomfortable experience. We fought our way back through the regulars at the bar to order. The food was ok when it arrived, nothing spectacular, just ok. The only saving grace to the whole evening was the young lad who served us . He was the only pleasant and friendly person in the pub. Definitely won’t be returning as unfriendly landlady unfriendly staff who were at best rude! Won’t be recommending to friends or family. Avoid this pub if they don’t know you - you will not be made welcome!

The welcome we received was virtually no existent Our room had not been cleaned properly . There was dust around the skirting boards, dado rails an along the metal bed frame. The shower was dirty with black mould and the bathroom floor was dirty. The bedding was clean & fresh, thankfully The bar stopped serving food at 630 pm but we were not informed when we arrived, so we were not able to eat that evening. Breakfast was quite basic with very little choice. Wouldn’t recommend staying here due to below average service and poor cleanliness.

Ended up at The Olde Robin Hood Inn on February 14th as all the restaurants in town were fully booked for Valentines Day. As it turned out , this was to our benefit. Located well outside of the town you need transport to get here (unless you are staying in their rooms) but there is a good sized car park. It is a pub that serves food, rather than a restaurant, but the portions are very generous, the food is very good, and the prices are a lot lower than in the town. The steak and ale pie was locally made and well filled, and the portion of scampi was a real plateful. Friendly service made for a pleasant meal.

We were early for lunch so asked the bar person if we could leave our car in the car park whilst we had a walk around the village. She was happy for us to do so. Having walked around the historic sites we called back as promised for a pint of really well kept Holden's Black Country. It was a really good pint. My pulled pork toasted sandwich was excellent, plenty of meat and cheese with home made picked red cabbage. My wife enjoyed her home cooked ham and mustard sandwich as well. I can highly recommend this pub for a real pub atmosphere, great and good value food and excellent beer, and plenty of outside seating for sunny days. It's a bit out of the main village centre, by the new bridge but has free parking. What more does anyone need from a pub.

Ate here about a year ago when we moved to the area and were really impressed. So much so that I'd been banging on about coming back ever since. So when we saw they were participating in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme we booked a table for a rare family meal out.I can only make the following assumptions: either because it's part of the gov scheme they have not put as much effort in because people aren't paying full price...or they lost their previous chef to another profession as a result of the pandemic. The difference between what we ate last year and what we ate last night are polar opposites. The starters were...okay. Although the whitebait was supposed to come with tartare dip. This was missing and when I asked the waitress she just disappeared and came back with 2 tiny sachets of tartare sauce. The haloumi fries were better than the whitebait and we ended up sharing those instead and leaving most of the whitebait. I ordered mushroom linguine for main (which was exactly what I'd had on my last visit). I ordered a side of garlic bread which when it came I actually asked if my partner had pinched some whilst I'd been to the loo...the portion was tiny and like cardboard. The linguine was bland, flavourless and disappointing. My partner ordered the cottage pie and said this was also not good. It was mostly potato and barely any filling at all. It was unseasoned and bland too. My daughters pizza, chips and beans was absolutely fine though...i was quite jealous. We left very disappointed, and didn't finish any of the food as it was just not enjoyable. I really hope this is just a temporary lapse in standard, however I don't think we will be going back any time soon. Just glad it only cost £30 instead of the full price.

The family & I have gone for a Sunday carvery many times at the Ye Old Robin Hood and they were the best around. The carvery sadly no longer exists due to COVID so now you have a Sunday dinner brought to your table. We managed to get a booking fairly easy at short notice which was great, however we now wished that we had not bothered - the dinner was brought to us very quickly once we had sat down, which I thought was great as we were very hungry and so looking forward to our food - Sadly what arrived was the worst Sunday dinner we had ever eaten. The meat (pork & beef) was the toughest ever and the pork didn’t smell great. The gravy was a dijon mustard gravey that just overpowered the whole dinner completely. The veg was rock hard and the mash was dry, and top it all off we were given just one tiny part roasted potato. It seemed that we weren’t the only ones not happy with the Sunday dinner, lots of plates going back to the kitchen half untouched as the waitress cleared the tables. We should have complained really, but the pub was packed with a queue to the bar so we just left as quickly as possible. If I could give this a zero rating for the food then I would. We will never ever go back to the pub for food ever again!!

Went to celebrate birthdays, and was quite disappointed with the organisation. There were only 8 in our party and we had pre-booked a few weeks previously. When we went to the carvery there were no mashed potatoes left so they brought a small tub of those out. There was also no stuffing left so we had to ask for that, and only 3 sets of cutlery left. The first of the group to be served asked waitress for more cutlery. By the time the last 2 people in the group were served they had run out of potatoes again and we had to wait several minutes before they came out, the broccoli left was just basically stalks and hardly any other veg left. By the time the last 2 people got back to the table the additional cutlery had only just been brought to the table. The food was nice and cooked well but not very warm at all by the time we eventually got to eat it.In view of the fact it was pre-booked so they knew exactly how many and what time we were going I would have expected all food tubs on the carvery to be sufficiently topped up and the table to have been laid.Disappointing visit, probably wouldn't bother going again.

Staff on the phone were really polite and helpful.I ordered the Mushroom Linguine, which is sometimes a gamble as it's not always very tasty. This one however was probably the best one I've ever had! The sauce was thick and creamy and so delicious. The portion was huge and it came with garlic bead. For the price I think it was really good value! Everyone else who ate praised the food and my daughter really enjoyed the children's meal chicken goujons she had! Will definitely visit again!

The breakfast and evening pub food were excellent, location very good and plenty of free parking. We had a quick look in the other 2 rooms which looked better than ours so my comments might only refer to my room. Ours was the twin room, the bathroom was small and the fan was not working, and it was a bit grubby. The room was okay but had too much furniture in making it seem small, beds were okay, but the room needed a good clean. The window sill was so dirty I got a cloth to it myself.

A casual lunch at a quaint pub sitting outside in the lovely sunshine admiring the view of the river Severn and watching the world amble by. We had white bait and chips, a delicious omelette and a small garlic prawn salad, all generous portions washed down with local ciders. A very relaxing place to eat and we would love to go back and stay.

It's not a big restaurant so booking is advisable having said that, we all had something different from the menu and all our meals were lovely. Staff are pleasant and the chef even came out and spoke to us, my nephew ate most of his meal and it included ice cream he loved it, it wasn't just put in dish it was two flavours of ice cream, squirty cream ( as children call it ) pieces of chocolate cake and hundreds and thousands on top not many places would do that.

Lovely place for a drink,we had a walk from Ironbridge and called in for a refreshment, very friendly people and also very informative, couldn't do enough to help.not tried the food but informed it was very good, they also do take away if required and B&B.not; bad at all,big car park and seating inside and out.The toilets were very good indeed, sign of a good pub in my opinion.Well worth a visit

Booked in last minute for the Sunday carvery having read good reviews. Staff were helpful and accommodating and managed to get us a table for 2.30pm. Arrived and the pub was almost empty. It was clearly the end of service. We were shown to a small room round the back where some poorly presented metal vats containing dried up veg were laid out. Beef was dry. Knowing that it was the end of service, they should have refused our booking rather than serve dried up food. It was honestly the worst food experience we have ever had. Such a shame as the bar staff and chef were friendly and welcoming.

Stayed here for two nights and I recommend it for it's location to all of the sights. The room we had was reasonably spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast, large or small, was excellent. We decided to have dinner elsewhere as I didn't think the bar had sufficient ambiance for a quiet dinner. The room had a lovely view of the river but unfortunately, the busy main road passed between the river and the hotel front door. Therefore it is difficult to have a decent night's sleep due to the noise of the traffic

We had already planned a stop here for lunch to break our journey to Anglesey. What a good decision. The food was excellent and the portions generous. Price was very reasonable. The welcome was warm and friendly.

We stopped for dinner on our first of two nights in Ironbridge, having been in several pubs along the gorge and not liking any of them! We received a warm welcome, nice decor, the food was superb (recommend the fishcakes with parsley sauce that were on the specials board!), reasonably priced. What's not to like? Would consider staying here if visiting Ironbridge in the future as they have three bedrooms.

Stopped here after visiting Rosehill House. A nice meal at a good price. View okay but not the best along the gorge.

We stopped off here on a walk to Blist Hill Victorian town for a drink and was undecided on which drink award winning Bitter or a new Golden ale. Went with the golden one and it was so good a pint that I wanted to try the award winning one so stopped again on way back. Quality pints and can tell they look after their pumps. Very friendly atmosphere.

We came here for dinner. We booked a table and glad we did as the restaurant was busy by 8pm. Food is lovely and honest pub food. Partner had the pie and it looked hand made. The portions are big but that is not a complaint. There was special on the day so make sure you check the board. The staff were all helpful and happy. Great place and would recommend to anyone going to ironbridge.

We stayed at the hotel and decided to have our evening meal there too. The staff were really polite and helpful. The food was exceptional. We had a three course meal and the food was beautiful. Thanks to all the chef team for beautifully displayed food which tasted even better.

Ordered a cookies dough, waffle and two milkshakes. I collected my order for 8pm, although it wasn't ready at 8pm, I was giving a free ice cream for my 5 min extra wait as an apology. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and saved myself £4.50 on delivery (bonus) I asked the staff about parking and was informed to input my reg into their data to get 30mins free, leaving with no fine! Again another bonus I'd say! Very pleased with food, milkshakes and staff.

I'm really glad to say the Lion is back, a great selection of beers and lagers including real ales, they also have Heineken zero on draught if you're looking for the alcohol free alternative. The food is excellent, freshly cooked with no complaints from our party. The staff were very friendly and polite and took everything in their stride.
