The best restaurants serving Default food in Alcester Stratford-on-Avon West Midlands

Lunch visit on Mother’s Day. Two beef lasagnes with chips and salad. Lovely, hot, beefy, cheesy lasagne with a crisp and fresh salad and crispy chips with fluffy insides. We sat in the large room but there is plenty of seating. The bar stewardess/waitress is a sight to behold. She does so much and manages to serve drinks, take orders and deliver orders. A great asset to the pub. The food here is really wonderful with very large portions. The tables, crockery and cutlery are clean. We have never had a bad meal here and I’d strongly urge people to visit. It’s very suitable for families, couples and at lunch time you can almost always get a table. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend the lasagne but be careful as it’s piping hot. It’s easy to walk past the pub and miss what is inside. There is a comfortable seating area of you don’t want to eat. We will be back! Thank You 👍

I'm not happy writing this review, because when I have had chips from here they have been superb, Unfortunately today, I tried to order mixed kebab meat and chips, £8.90 which as others have said is quite expensive. I was not aware of the minimum £10 spend for card payments and even after pointing out the price was not a million miles away from the £10 I was still refused. I'm sure the profit would have been far more than the transaction fee, a real shame as I will find it hard to return out of principle, the chips are great, but there are plenty of really good alternatives to be had. a real shame

Just had the most wonderful evening with friends for my 60th birthday. There were 16 of us...Andrew took such good care of us..very professional & attentive. Superb food all brought out together.. excellent quality!! A massive thank you. Everyone was impressed 👏

Came with a friend. Waited moments for a free table ( there are many inside & out) chose our food went to the till to order. I had a goats cheese salad which was delicious. Service was very good and all staff seemed very happy. The gift shop has some lovely gifts & cards too. Didn’t venture into the farm shop/ butchers / veg shop.

Was looking for somewhere for tea and cake whilst staying away and Lounge at 26 came up as a place to go. Really nice tea shop in Alcester, with a good range of cakes and teas / coffees Had the passion fruit cake which was moist and really tasty. Will definitely be back.

Went for lunch. Very good service and very nice Sunday roast.

Took a punt and tried as Chinese takeaways are more miss than hit. This was great, for me, I was thinking loads of fresh veg along with the meat which makes it a winner. Not all gloopy and beige like many are. Will defo use again.

Haven’t been here for food for a long time. Called in on the off chance. Although it was busy they found us a table. I had the Cajun chicken pitta and my partner had the chicken Caesar salad, both were absolutely delicious. The kind of food you don’t want to end! Homemade chips were to die for. Really lovely friendly pub with staff to match. Will definitely be back.

We turned up for lunch today without a booking and we were so impressed with how organised the service is. Monica managed to find us a dog friendly table, and our drinks were delivered within 10 minutes. The food was delicious and Caitlin who served us was so efficient and friendly. Can’t remember when we’ve had better service! A thoroughly enjoyable lunch!

Searched for a local restaurant as not local and this restaurant popped up. Fantastic service and food, cannot recommend more highly, vegetarian jalfrazi one of best i had and nann bread best I've had.

Think it's shut. Couldn't find it. Resulted in going jn the bakery for a sandwich and a sausage roll instead. Alcester is a nice little stop off but Henley was busier.

A good village centre pub. No thrills but it does exactly what it needs to do.

Good location with a good sized car park. Perfectly ok room However, a very peculiar ‘herbal plant’ smell through the corridors….

Went in there tonight, was extremely busy. Ordered a large cod, got home & the smell was absolutely disgusting, fish still raw!!! Went straight in the bin. Will definitely not be going back or recommending. Avoid at all cost unless you want food poisoning!!!!! 🤢🤮
