Visited here on 19th August. Ordered and paid for2 flat white coffees and 2 tea cakes. Eventually a waitress came and asked if we’d ordered a take away flat white. I said no and repeated my order. She then brought over a tray with 2 pots of tea, and still no tea cakes. I repeated our order of 2 flat whites and 2 tea cakes. I was then asked what size flat white I’d ordered. It was all embarrassing and in frustration we just left, despite the fact we’d paid. Will not be going back

Visited here Friday 12th July 2024 on our way to Pershore for a holiday. Was busy but got a table ok. Nice menu and prices ok. The wife ordered and paid ang got a receipt. Drinks and tea cakes were ok. We left and was a few yards from the cafe when a lady chased after us stating we hadnt paid for our items, my wife said we had and produced the receipt. it was humiliating in front of other people and if in the area again will not go there

We popped to Alcester in September because, having grown up in the area I wanted to show my husband it and come back. Adore the beamed houses and visited the many shops museum and popped here for a drink where the service was friendly. Sat outside then. Enjoyed it so much decided to pop here for my birthday with my daughter and husband, so I could enjoy the short walk around the lovely streets, showing my daughter. We stopped at this café, sitting inside on the comfy seats because it is now cold November. Very relaxing and the cake, lemon and blueberry, was gorgeous, lovely and moist, and I’ll pretend it’s 2 of my fruit a day haha. Yes this café was a wonderful break on our visit to Alcester.

Last week I paid £3.30 for an iced coffee. This week I was charged £3.95 for exactly the same. I took my own cup on both occasions. £0.65 for ice cubes is disgusting. Coffee itself was average and I pay £3.20 everywhere else for my iced latte.

A cafe I’ve visited fairly regularly, but today was hugely disappointing. Thin pieces of supermarket bread for toast, instead of the usual bloomer. Absolutely no excuse as there are 2 local supermarkets selling bloomer type bread, which in the absence of anything else has to be a “fix”. Won’t be returning for this anytime soon.

Visited this cafe after a year away due to Covid19. Sadly we learned that the previous very social owner had left in Nov 20 but we decided to ‘give it a whirl’. Our waitress was our main concern….although she looked relatively young so maybe lack of experience/training maybe. She didn’t greet us and just stood by us with her notepad. So I asked if food was still being served but were told food stops being served at 2.30pm which seems very early for a Saturday but I’m sure their trade statistics have governed that. However, other tables were being served cakes and toasted tea cakes but we were never offered this as an option. With hindsight we should have asked but assumed the waitress would have offered this as an option. Then on leaving whilst waiting at the till to pay, I wasnt acknowledged just given the price. There were no niceities like ‘was your coffee ok?’ or ‘thank you’ or ‘hope to see you again’ etc. On reflection, I will give it one more chance and if the once welcoming and friendly atmosphere is no longer there then I will take my trade to one of the numerous other cafes in Alcester. Such a shame as it used to be so nice.

My husband & I arrived at 12.45 ish for a quick bite. As I queued to order (soup sold out!!) my husband sat in only remaining seating for 4-6. By the time I’d finished a table for 2 was free so my husband moved in case a larger party arrived. The waitress knew we’d moved as she came straight to our table with our drinks but clearly didnt put the new table number on the order or tell the kitchen (whom she chatted with on a number of occasions)We waited over an hour for a BLT & toasted cheese/tom sandwich. My first query to the waitress/owner was replied with ‘the food is made fresh’. More customers arrived while we waited with 2 parties receiving their food first. Eventually just before our food arrived possibly cottoning onto the situation we were offered another drink but at the till I was firmly told it was because we had moved and the original table number (the next customers to take that seating freakishly had the same order as ours) was on our order and therefore it was our fault. No apology obviously and left feeling frustrated. Everyone makes mistakes but it’s how you deal with them that defines you i guess

First impressions are very important and this struck me as a busy shabby chic cafe. All good so far. Unfortunately we then made the mistake of asking the blond lady at the counter if we were to order from there or was it table service? Her manner was abrupt and rude. It would be table service and don’t expect any food as kitchen was closed. This was 2pm! Also, nowhere currently to sit and implied there were people waiting to be seated before us should seating become available. Fair enough. There were in fact no other people we could see waiting for seating and an elderly lady and carer appeared to be getting ready to leave. I asked the same waitress if anyone was waiting to be seated at that table. She said the couple had only just arrived. Finished refreshments were on the table! The embarrassed career said that they had in fact just finished and were about to leave if we’d like their table. We ordered coffee and a scone. Both were delicious. Our presence at this cafe seemed to be a total inconvenience to this member of staff. We look forward to trying a different cafe on our next visit to Alcester.

I popped in for lunch with my daughter at 2.30 pm only to be told, once we'd sat down, that they were not serving hot food after 2pm. They would however be willing to serve us a sandwich. In my opinion 2.30 is still lunchtime but rather than move to another location we decided on a sandwich as we were in quite a hurry. Not sure how that works when they have an "all day breakfast" on their menu as it wouldn't be very nice cold. Our sandwiches were enjoyable though. We also found the lady that served us a bit stuck up and not very friendly. On a more positive note it's a quaint cafe amd very clean and tidy.

On a lovely sunny afternoon we popped in here fancying a cup of tea/coffee and a piece of cake. It was busy but we found a seat and the waitress came to take the order. She was quite curt and clearly feeling the pressure from a busy cafe as she seemed somewhat irritated by having to state what the different cakes were and rattled through them as though the request was an inconvenience. I wanted to ask what the different herbal/fruit teas were as the menu actually said 'too many to list' but felt it'd probably be better not to! Coffee and tea were fine but the cakes were only just average – coffee and walnut better than the lemon cake which was like something made from a boxed cake mix. When we went to pay there was a problem with the till which resulted in more exasperated looks and irritation from the waitress...not necessarily directed at us but uncomfortable all the same. The cafe is attractive and has lots of good reviews but the rather lacklustre cakes and unfriendly service means there won't be a repeat visit.

There are several cafes in Alcester High Street but this one enticed us in, the old bow fronted windows with quirky items relating to tea and coffee looked the most welcoming. As soon as you enter you are greeted and there is table service. There were a few regular tables and chairs and several coffee tables with comfy sofas or tub chairs, it would be really easy to spend a few hours in there! At the counter is a glass cabinet with cakes and pastries inside and cake stands with larger cakes and scones on top. We actually placed our order there once we had decided what to try! The coffee was good and cakes delicious. Wifi was available if needed and there were also some newspapers for customers to read. We went there twice as we had enjoyed it so much the first time and we were greeted like regulars even down to them remembering how I liked my coffee. Each time we were there it was either full or almost full, most were local people who use it often. There were half a dozen people in there that we saw on both our visits. A really good place to go and we would love to be able to go more often!

Upon arrival all seemed well enough - I was greeted in a friendly enough way and sat down, and promptly I was provided with a menu and soon after was able to order a pot of tea and a prawn sandwich. However - all was not well. The pot of tea went cold within 10 miutes and was barely enough for 2 small cups. The sandwich was served on bread so thin that it could not handle the contents - very watery prawns with a dash of what was supposed to be rose marie sauce. The choice of crisps or coleslaw seemed a bit stingy too - 1 tiny cherry tomatoe, limp lettuce leaves and some ready salted crisps seemed a poor side salad type garnish but might have been mitigated by a spoonfull of coleslaw!Limp sandwiches and cold tea aside, I was then left for around 60 minutes without a word spoken to me. The place was not busy, though people came and went during that time. I was reading a book and had intended to spend the afternoon doing this in a pleasant environment outside of my house - noone asked if I wanted more tea, if the food/tea was satisfactory, or made any interraction whatsoever.I could have asked someone to come over but the staff seemed to never really be in my eyeline and I kept saying "someone will pop over in a minute" but this never happened. 2 other local such coffee shops I had been in that week (one across the road) had topped up my tea frequently and been really welcoming and pleasant and it is a shame this place seem to think customer service consists of dumping it down and clearing off! When I approached the counter to pay the lady did not make eye contact at any point - telling me the cost, taking payment, and giving change all whilst staring down at the counter. This lady may have been autistic or have some social awkwardness that makes her reluctant to look at customers and if so then this is understandable but it did strike me as being simply that she didn't seem to want to look up and smile!Given the wonderful alternatives close by, I won't be returning. I do not normally post negative reviews but I hope this one has the effect of spurring the place into action as independent enterprises like this should be supported by locals and give heart to the high street - but to get this support does take some sort of effort on behalf of the business.

While strolling through Alcester, I popped into this small cafe when it began to rain. The place was full, and sharing tables was encouraged. I had a good cup of coffee, and was pleased to find that sandwiches could be served on either white or brown gluten-free bread. I ordered brie and cranberry sauce on the brown bread, and it was an interesting combination. However, the chunks of brie on the sandwich were room temperature or colder, which made the sandwich kind of chewy and awkward. Warming up the brie would have softened it and helped to blend the flavors better.

Staying just out Alcester - needed some breakfast - popped in to Coffee @ 26 and had scrambled eggs on toast and a cup of coffee ---- fabulous!!!Alcester is a lovely old town - quite a contrast to London - wish Coffee@26 was nearer to home as we would visit it more often!

After a hospital appointment in Redditch (not quite ready to check out it seems), we carried on to Alcester. This is a ancient town and is pretty and atmospheric. I wonder what the Romans would think if they came back now. Coffee @26 looked inviting so we dropped in. Nice compfy leather seats and a relaxed atmosphere. Sort of place you end up chatting to the people on the next table. The capucinnos and pastries were tasty.can't fault it really.

The coffee was ok as was the food. The service was good but again the staff look like they've just fallen out of bed, not a smart look for serving food!

Been here a few times. The owner takes pride in making proper coffee from ground beans - always a good brew. The place to go and service is friendly. Last time I had espresso which came with free biscotti and a glass of water.

Friendly, buzzing atmosphere. Very good coffee & refreshments including very moreish toasted tea-cakes.The only drawback is that Coffee @26 is so popular that lack of space can be a problem and at busy times potential customers are turned away because there are no seats.

Alcester has a number of cafés but this one is by far the best. Great coffee/tea plus delightful scones & cakes - all fresh & very tasty. They also do light lunches. Good atmosphere with friendly staff.

I visited coffee@26 today for lunch with my mother and my 9 week old baby. Before we even brought the pram in, I popped my head in the door and asked if there was room for us and the pram to which I was greeted with a friendly yes by the male waiter. We came in and sat at the table that they directed us to go to- two sofas at the front of the cafe. We both had jacket potatoes which were tasty and we both enjoyed.... Which makes what came next even more frustrating! As soon as we had finished our last mouthfuls, a rather abrupt waitress cleared our table and said that if we were going to be long then to move because she was turning away new customers. We replied with a smile saying we won't be long because my mum had just a bit of her cup of tea left. A minute later, two ladies came in for their lunch who were clearly regulars by the way they were greeted and the waitress then came back to our table and asked my mum to move!! We were both appalled by the way we were treated- fair enough if there was a big group of 4 new customers coming in but for us to be asked to move for only 2 others was out of order. Also- nobody else was asked to vacate their tables. So my mum gulped the last of her tea down while the waitress breathed over my shoulder while I got the pram ready to go. Well, all I can say extra is that as a recently new resident of Alcester, you have lost any future custom from me!!

There are many cafes in Alcester but this one is our favourite! There is a wide range of fresh coffee and tea to choose from. The leather sofas are very comfortable but you can also sit at a table. Service is friendly and efficient. The food is tasty and always freshly prepared.

Breakfast wasn't good. Service was slow. Food quality isn't worth what you're paying for. I was disappointed 😞 Positive - waitress was nice, friendly and pleasant

This pub is sadly currently closed due to a large fire earlier in the year. It will be closed for some time. I hope it gets restored as it had a great reputation before. There are plenty of other great alternatives nearby to visit.

Harvy and his team were first class. I emailed saying it was a special birthday with friends and could they do something for me and straight away they replied saying very happy to help. When we arrived the whole team were just brilliant and really did make the day for us. I cant thank the team enough for a fantastic experience
