The Millstone Hare in Stratford-on-Avon

Mum and I went and tried. The Millstone Hare For lunch today never been before, so didn't know what to expect. We were not disappointed friendly and helpful staff the food is great. Mum had the fish-and-chips a lovely white piece of fish in a crispy butter, and I had the burger. The burger burn was toasted. Nice and crusty with a nice thick slice of bacon and for pudding, an apple crumble and ice cream with nice chunks of apple in and a chocolate brownie with ice cream Lovely pub. Set in the grounds of the Dallas Burston Polo Club, Southam

I like it here, love the atmosphere and decor. Food is good and the staff are friendly.

I had the most delicious ginger sponge pudding with ginger sauce and ice cream. The staff are nice.

Been here many times as we enjoy the location... Staff are friendly and helpful.. drinks are good but unfortunately the food is always hit and miss... We have had some nice meals but also some not so good... We will continue to drink there but I think we won't bother eating there again

Good Sunday roast, shame no mashed potatoes. Desserts standard microwave fare. Service was good. Unusual environment on polo grounds making a nice change. Poor onsite road signage - tiny font, you have to stop very close to the sign to be able to read it.

Was a lovely place with lovely food. There was a big party of us and it was managed very well with lovely hot food .

Absolutely brilliant service and food. Nothing is ever too much and always friendly and happy. The food is lovely and the atmosphere is just as perfect Will be back soon.

Went here before Christmas and had a lovely meal for two and so returned in March with 20 friends to celebrate a Birthday. We received well priced good pub food in a relaxing atmosphere and super efficient service of food and drinks by friendly and accommodating staff. We'll certainly return again.

Went for a bike meet ,poor service, even worse food ,rip off ,out side chairs all broke an ripped not what I was expecting at all ,will not be hurry to go there anytime again

Went for the excellent wheels night Motogymkhana event every second Wednesday .lots of cool cars and bikes and Motogymkhana . BBQ food available on bike nights and a good drinks selection . Great staff and an amazing venue . Go and check it out.

Visiting Dallas Burston with a motoring event. Popped into the pub for a pint - great service from the small team behind the bar. Decent pint of Cotswold IPA and a Cotswold G & T.

Really nice friendly bar, reasonable menu. Not easy to find with the satnav but unexpected delight to watch some horse show jumping while we were there. Definitely recommend and will return.

We visited yesterday for a lunch time roast, which was absolutely delicious. Everything was clearly freshly prepared and well cooked, I asked for my beef to be cooked through as I'm expecting and it was still very tender and flavoursome which was great as I usually like rare meat! The whole meal was hot and although the Yorkshire's were slightly over cooked for our liking we ate absolutely everything and will definitely be returning again.Staff were very friendly and attentive and explained their one way system for moving around the premises should you need to use the toilet. The whole place was clean and well organised with sanitiser available at the entrance and exit doors, definitely a place to visit if you are nervous about dining out.

Booked for Sunday lunch, and whilst the restaurant didn’t seem too busy, the service was very slow. Had to request someone to take our order, then had to chase for the starters and again for our mains. Shame because everybody enjoyed the starters, and the mains were pretty good. However, as there are no menus for the Sunday roasts you are not aware of what is included. The veggie option being a nut roast was covered in goats cheese. Unfortunately this ruined what could have been a very nice meal. Goats cheese, even if you like it, and gravy not a great combination!and

Amazing service, amazing food went with family & friends and couldn’t of asked for anything better, outstanding Sunday roast & perfect service , all hands on and always happy to help as much as they could, staff were very helpful and service was great, would highly recommend this place for either a drink or food, lovely cosy pub with lovely surroundings will defo be back on a regular basis

We visited on Saturday evening for my birthday meal and had a lovely time! The pub has lovely decor inside and amazing views of the polo arena. We were the only ones in the pub (seemed odd for such a nice venue!) but this meant we got full choice of where to sit and staff were so attentive. The food was amazing, the pastry on the pies is the best I think I’ve ever had and the generous portions are great.The little hand sanitiser to take home is also a great touch thanks!

We came for a family dinner, and well it was stunning. Was very impressed with the safety measures they have in place, actively cleaning all the time. The food was delicious and the size of the fish and chips was incredible! Excellent service, delicious food, great views and plenty of space! Will certainly be back! We visited for the first time on Saturday and loved the place so much we booked again for Sunday. It’s a beautiful Place inside and out. The food was good Sunday lunch was one of the best we have had out for a long time. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Also given a branded sanitiser spray to take home.

From when we arrived to when we left we felt very at ease and Safe. We were Greeted by a lady with a huge smile who was very much in charge, after taking our details she ran through all of the new house rules with us and showed us exactly where we needed to go and made us feel very welcome. The system for the outdoor bar service was excellent and very very efficient. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced all of the staff were happy and friendly. We have been in a few places that have felt like a free for all with a few hand sanitisers dotted around for good measure. Well done Millstone Hare you have put a lot of thought into reopening. We will defiantly be back next week.

Jo and the team were excellent as all ways along with always going the extra mile went on Saturday and Sunday and both visits were first class along with being made to feel very safe and welcome.

Food was nice. Very welcoming. Sadly, it was very quiet and we had 3 children with us so we felt a bit out of place. Nothing anyone could have done about it but it just lacked atmosphere for Saturday night.

Management are superb and hope they are all keeping safe at this unfortunate tine

I want to say thank you so much for the generosity and kindness of Jo and Simon, as we were trying to get provisions during our quarantine. They were so responsive and supportive, and so appreciative of the work of NHS staff. They provided such lovely produce. We shall definitely return to dine in the restaurant when the current crisis improves. We will always remember the kindness given during trying times. Thank you.

I have had the pleasure of dining here for the past few years. The service is always top quality. Friendly, welcoming staff and the environment mimics this. The food is outstanding, I can't fault it in anyway, Well sized portions with a lot of thought going into the menus. I'd reccomend the milstone hare to anyone who is looking for an excellent meal and experience.

Visited whilst staying at the toasty tipi place on site, the food was fantastic and cooked to perfection, the staff were very attentive and friendly and we were served quickly. not many vegetarian options but the food that we did have was top notch, would definitely recommend

Just had a fantastic Valentines meal. Our first visit and we will definitely be going back. Food excellent, well priced and good value for money. Good service and staff were very friendly.

A small but varied menu but this means more care can be taken on those items offered. Very tasty food in a lovely hospitable Inn.

Visited on The 9th December for a Christmas meal (22 of us) everything pre ordered, and everything came out on time, hot and correct and food kept to a very high standard everyone said how good it was! Staff friendly and helpful young blond girl behind the bar was very welcoming and smiley! Very very pleased with our night a must visit place!!!

Great place very impressive to look at and not over priced

Visited with friends for a meal, They have a very extensive wine list that’s not to pricey, the two ladies that served us one I believe was the manager had a good knowledge of what they had to offer and were both very enthusiastic about the selection, at the end of the meal they brought us some dessert wines out to try highly recommend the monsoon valley we ended a lovely evening with a bottle. The food was very good and the bread board while we waited was a nice addition that we weren’t expecting. The food and presentation was faultless as was the service so nice to go somewhere and be served by members of staff that are not robotic. A very enjoyable evening with a warm welcoming atmosphere we will be back.

Good choice of lagers and drinks, perfect for a drink after work. Love the new menu - would highly recommend.

Steak was served cold, then when returned tasted very vinegary and microwaved. Pork was hard. No drinks order taken throughout the meal we had to keep going to the bar (3 staff behind the bar) we were the only table in the pub eating. There was also no Ham as they had run out. This ruined my wife’s birthday meal and all 14 of us have said we wouldn’t return. It was no wonder the place was quiet.

Shocking... Way over priced... We used to enjoy coming here even tho two drinks for £10 but when my partner ordered a chocolate delice for £8 our face's said it all... Its basically a mouse... Served on a huge plate with enough for two maybe three spoon fulls... If you are looking for value for money don't go there.. But if you don't mind paying over the top prices then that's your choice... Sadly we won't be returning.. We have found another pub not to far away where you still have great views but with more realistic prices...

We arrived and the Barmaid turned out to be the waitress as well. She served the drinks and took the order for the food, great so far. We were the only people eating. No starter just main course, that took 55 minutes to arrive but the food was okay. If a little cooler than expected. The Sweets just two took another 25 minutes. We all decided the experience was frustrating.

Friendly staff who deliver a fantastic service every visit & delicious food. Set in immaculate surroundings on a sunny day it’s wonderful to dine el fresco on the terraced area. Dog friendly too outside.

We found this place some years ago and it was a little gem, food was top notch as was the service. We've been recently though and it isn't what it was. Still ok for a meal but a bit overpriced and underwhelming.

Have the freshly cooked naan it's the best thing on an amazing menu.

Sunday lunch at The Millstone Hare...what a treat! If I thought I'd come across a great place for tasty roast beef, with all the trimmings matching its fab flavour, then I regressed to a kid at Christmas when the tarte tatin was put in front of me. Those apples in that caramel, sitting on great, light pastry - amazing. Be warned...it's a sharing dessert for two but after the first mouthful, giving up half is going be tough!! Lovely food and staff to match.

Very disappointing my son took me there with my daughter-in-law & grandaughter we waited about 30mins for our meal once ordered. My chicken supreme came out and I had to return to the kitchen as it was not hot, they brought the same meal back to me and said it had been put back in oven. My daughter-in-laws rissoto was so salty she was unable to eat it all so not a happy or acceptable visit.

Overall a good pub, just a little pricey

Luckily we are based less than 5 miles away so super place for us to eat. We have friends visit us from Wales, 'Up North' and also 'down South' (and you know how fussy they are, with their trendy 'cafe culture'...) It's the place we take them to eat even though we have a huge selection of nice places to eat around us.We can always guarantee a warm friendly welcome from Jo and her staff in superb surroundings in a beautiful location. Largely undiscovered by a lot of the locals, possibly because it looks so imposing at the entrance. Always warm and welcoming, never any problem parking, staff super, food terrific...and the prices are not ...definitely not a 'rip off'...great value.Huge showjumping event there last weekend , very busy, still enjoyed great food and service for our family and friends. Visited this place with friends. Had spicy cauliflower soup to start, if you had blindfolded me I could not have guessed what I was eating, tasteless, . Main cause mushroom risotto. Stodgy rice pudding. My partner had prawns to start, which were average and fish and chips. The batter was soggy under cooked and tasteless frozen fish. In all the worst meal in a very long time. What a shame. On my door step but won’t be going back.

Someone has spent serious money here with a stunning pub with superb views across the Polo Ground, especially from the terrace and first floor. Loads of secure car parking and easy access. Warm & comfortable decor with good range of bar drinks and food from prix fixe to a la carte

Perfect venue for couples, groups and families. An excellent all rounder! Staff are friendly and professional and always give a warm welcome. Food is excellent! I recommend it highly,good,tasty, perfectly prepared and cooked. All in all excellent value for money and a splendid experience.

The place was cold, the radiators were off and people kept leaving double doors wide open, on a cold windy day.

This place is a little bit of a hidden gem, it is tucked away at the back of the polo club, but its beautiful with its thatched roof and country feel.

Visited for a meeting one week day evening. Really nice atmosphere. Very relaxing. Amazing location. I imagine a summer evening to be stunning. Would definitely recommend.

We went for Sunday lunch to celebrate a golden wedding anniversary. We were picked up by the complimentary taxi, it was on time. Staff were all lovely and were very accommodating. They had no problem with us putting ballooons and decorations on the table and we brought our own cake which they provided plates for. The food was all lovely, our party included a toddler, a vegetarian and someone who eats gluten free and all options were good. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we didn't feel rushed, there was plenty of room for our toddler to stretch her legs and watch the horses training from the terrace and windows. We had a very enjoyable afternoon and hope to return again soon - thank you!

Fantastic food. All three courses were of a very high standard. 10/10 for consistency. A memorable Valentine's evening.

We went out as a group of friends. The staff were friendly and very helpful, particularly to the two of us who had food allergies. The room was very pleasant,the open fire made it feel cosy. The food was excellent, not a complaint from any of us and the service was prompt and friendly. All in all a lovely evening, looking forward to going back soon.

It’s the ideal venue for a family occasion. If you can combine the event with a polo match together with a nice day, this location cannot be bettered.
