Think it's shut. Couldn't find it. Resulted in going jn the bakery for a sandwich and a sausage roll instead. Alcester is a nice little stop off but Henley was busier.

When I first reviewed this cafe it was a successful quirky place full of curios and interesting paintings available to buy, the food was simple tasty and cost effective and their bacon sandwiches and soups were the best. The problem with it now, apart from the nosey gossippy Hyacinth Bucket woman that inhabits it, is that the owner of the building insists on displaying a god-awful range of interior "designs" for wallpaper that no one wants. The materials and designs are all outdated and can't even be called bespoke or cater to a market for replenishing old designs, and the owner shoves them all over the place trying to perpetuate a business that has no demand, to the complete detriment of the cafe business. If you rent out your shop space to a cafe, surely they should have the whole space rather than a little space that's encroached upon by the remnants of your business, which affects the personality of the cafe??? It was much better when it was Fat Cats, now Will has left and it's called something else, and the woman that lurks there is nothing more than a nosey old cow interrupting your relax time with inappropriate enquiries and talking loudly about other people's business to the people that visit her. I hope someone new takes it over and that the owner realises that his wallpaper samples aren't required. By anyone, ever.

Odd as in cafe at the front fabrics at the rear. The service was quick and polite. The tables and cutlery was clean. The coffee had a decent flavour and strength and came in a decent sized mug. The cakes looked good but we did not have one. There was no feeling of being rushed and we enjoyed watching the world from the window seat. There were plenty of locals coming and going and the owner seemed to know what was going to be ordered.

Small coffee shop at the front of a fabric and DVD store. Very friendly service although space is limited, as is the menu - basically coffee, a few cakes, soup, toast and sandwiches. However, the food is always excellent, and the bacon sandwich is to die for!

I went for a sandwich with my elderly dad and they said they had no food, though clearly people were eating, my dad did look a bit worse for wear, but basically all they had was toast or Tuna, never felt so embarrassed in my life, please avoid this dreadful cafe

Wandering around Alcester for the first time we came across a quirky looking café. we found a comfy table and chilled out. The menu was small and mainly sandwiches and soup. We chose two different sandwiches and coffee. The sandwiches were the best I have had anywhere. Lovely doorstop bread, fresh salad and presented perfectly. The coffee nice and hot.Try it I'm sure you will like it. Seeing we were on holiday it seemed to take on "one of them moments". Relaxing and enjoyable for a mid day snack.

Very pleasant guy who served us. The 'proper' bacon sandwich was as described - lots of bacon - and the hot chocolate was simply delicious!! It was a little bit of a squeeze with the buggy and I had to change my lil fella on the floor at the back, but we didn't mind. I will definitely pop in again.

visited this cafe last week mid afternoon. It looked really inviting from the outside so we thought we'd give it a go. Really liked the shabby chic furniture and relaxing atmosphere. We were a party of 5 with a toddler and ordered coffee, cakes and a couple of sandwiches. We were the only ones in the cafe when we placed our order with the only member of staff there so it was no surprise to us that the service was a bit slow. The cakes were good and sandwiches made using good quality bread and a lot of filling, my only criticism is that it would have been nice to have a bit of dressing on the side salad. We would defiantly return if we lived a little closer.

After a very stressful journey up from Devon at the end of a week away we found ourselves in Alcester as we needed to feed our 6 month old and walk our dogs. It was just before closing time but we were made to feel very welcome and told to take our time that there was no rush. The coffee was amazing and my son loved his hot chocolate with marshmallows! We also had a piece of chocolate cake which was very light and tasted great. The staff member was excellent and made what had been a rubbish journey up to that point a much better experience, thank you for your kindness we will definitely pay it forward.

Came here a while ago with my boyfriend, for lunch. We ordered mediterranean vegetable paninis/toasted baguettes. They were delicious, but took a very long time to come to the table, so we had to wolf them down as we ended up in a rush. Would visit again, but there are similar places to eat in Alcester, with better value for money.

I live in Wiltsire but visit the delightful town of Alcester once a month with my sisters. We discovered the Fat Cats cafe by chance and now always go there. Why do we return ? Because the atmosphere is so relaxing and the food is to our liking. We can choose whether we want to 'People Watch' sitting in the window seats or relax on a settee and cast an eye on the wallpapers and beautiful fabrics courtesy of Andy an Interior Designer with rooms at the rear of the cafe. Andy is most charming and very approachable.

If you own a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig, (are you listening Mr Clooney?) you would be as well to avoid bringing it within a mile of this outstanding café.Epitomising the benefits of a short and simple menu done well, Fat Cats is deservedly renowned for it's Proper Bacon Sarnies. There are other options and some nice looking cakes, but both mornings we were in Alcester, it had to be these gorgeous snacks, piled high with perfectly cooked, glistening bacon and swilled down with an enormous pot of tea. Fair value , lovely staff and outstanding quality in a pleasant environment.

This cafe is a bit different as it used to be a soft furnishings shop. It still is in a small way but for the last year has been a cafe too. The staff are helpful, friendly and obliging. The food is top notch and the soups are yum! The coffee is excellent! Mum and I toured the high street and found this and one other suit us to a tee! They only have about 6 tables and everything is made fresh, so service can be a little slow but Will is so nice and the ambience is so soothing it doesn't matter. What a find when there are so many options in Alcester. Thank you.

I came here for the first time the other day and was instantly taken in by the incredible staff working there who were extremely welcoming, bubbly and enthusiastic about what they do! The experience then got better when we ordered the food as the ingredients were so fresh that I won't be able to eat another sandwich again without being remembering how it should be done which is what they got so right! When the sun is out there is no other place to be than sat outside the front of Fat Cats Cafe taking in the lively atmosphere of Alcester High Street. I will be returning again soon.

Came across this cafe by chance, and much to our delight found a gem. As a group of walkers we were in need of good coffee and plenty to eat. We had there "proper bacon" sandwich this was man size. Followed by a true cup of coffee, we all agreed it was like we had, had in Italy the last time we were there. We finished off with a good slab of different cakes. The service was excellent and friendly, although the chap was working solo he was happy to serve a group of hungry walkers.Nice surpise when we got the bill, Good value.

Having to pop into town [which is superb in itself], I had to rest and ambled into this café and was most impressed. The greeting was superb, level of service was excellent and the quality of my coffee was smashing.Needless to say, as I am in town most weeks, I now drop in regularly, almost looking for an excuse.Since that first coffee, I have tried both the drinking chocolate [loved the marshmallows] and various cakes, all as good as the first visit.the word SERVICE is spelt in capitals here, as they really get it right. Had to leave a comment, and I am not sure where these other posters have been visiting, but it can't have been this place if they are complaining! As a pet owner, I would far rather enjoy a warm welcome with my dog than have to leave him in the car. This cafe stands out a mile from all of the other ones in this little village - its eclectic, interesting, colourful, and all the locals go there. The bacon sarnies are thick, very tasty and well presented, the cream tea is to die for, proper cake stand and everything - and they are a very tidy price too. Can't fault the food or the welcome and if locals choose it then so do I. Worth a visit to see all of the stuff for sale, antique, retro, its totally different and I loved it and will be back whenever I am in the area. Bah humbug to all the dog haters, look after my dog and you can look after me. Over and out.

Popped in to this interesting café for a quick sandwich with my little girl. I will say the staff were really lovely and my little girl was made to feel very welcome. We ordered our drinks and food and sadly it took so long I ended up panicking. I'm pretty sure (and will happily delete this if I'm wrong) That the staff had to go out and buy the Ham and Cheese for my ploughman's Sandwich. The bread was fresh and really tasty. The sandwich was served with a little portion of pickle and a salad but no dressing or mayo so a bit sad looking. My little girl had beans on toast which was a small portion, possibly a child's portion. Milkshake was lovely and its a comfortable place to be. Ill not be rushing back but they haven't been open long so hopefully will improve soon

A disappointing visit. Coffee wasn't as strong as I like, toasted tea cake didn't come with jam as advertised. The butter was too cold so it wouldn't spread also the knife which was used to cut my butter, had been used to cut something before my butter was portioned up. Wasn't pleased when a dog was brought through.

This pub is sadly currently closed due to a large fire earlier in the year. It will be closed for some time. I hope it gets restored as it had a great reputation before. There are plenty of other great alternatives nearby to visit.

Their baristas do not know how to make a cappuccino. They gave me a luke warm latte with no cappuccino froth whatsoever. I was also absolutely horrified to see them mopping the toilet floor then using the same mop to “clean” the floor of the cafe - spreading faecal matter where people eat food - a real health and safety hazard. Avoid ..,
