An absolute gem tucked away in alcester. Incredible beers and the food smoked on “big bertha” is next level!!!

Nastiest experience of my life, if I could rate them one star- I would. The manager (I believe, his name was Dan) here started violently rushing me and my friends out as we were just about to finish our final drink on the brink on closing. Lee had about two sips left of our drinks before he started yelling at us demanding we leave, even going as far as to take our drinks (that we had paid for) and refusing to give them back!! Despite this, we still decided to leave silently without an argument; but on the way out we heard him call my friend a particularly nasty slur for absolutely no reason!! Disgusting behaviour from a manager of an establishment and i can’t belive people like this our allowed to even work in- let alone run- a business!! Hope he gets fired.

We have been here several times for lunchtime snacks and decided to try it for Sunday lunch. We both had roast beef which was very tender and extremely tasty. The veggies were fresh and perfectly cooked. We could not fault anything the food, the helpfulness of the staff, the cosy atmosphere and the price. We will definitely be back again.

I visit here on a regular basis. I can’t begin to tell you how much I rate it. Everything on the menu is sooooo tempting, the food always delicious and “Hot” and consistently good. Staff are very friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. If you haven’t already visited, it’s time you did 😊

Has to be 20 years since we were in this pub as we Don’t live that close. In Alcester to do some specific shopping we decided to revisit & having a bit of lunch. We’d forgotten how nice this pub was. Very friendly staff & a nice menu. We only wanted something quick & we both had ciabatta, one with some lovely sausage & onions & one with carved ham & cheese both with sides of pickles & coleslaw. Very nice indeed. No alcohol as driving but choices looked plentiful. We won’t wait 20 years for the next visit. Definitely thumbs up

First visit to this pub and will definitely be returning! Friendly and helpful staff, wonderful atmosphere. Food was amazing. You could see the care and attention that had been put into the food. Really enjoyed our visit.

We had a drive out to Alcester bank Holiday Monday and one of the only pubs open was the Turks head , in we went and served very quickly with a top pint of Butty bark ! Very happy so we decided to eat, l had the bbq burger well it was brilliant home made burger topped with several slices of beer brisket and plenty of cheese, homemade chips and pickles and slaw ! Amazing my wife had a vegetarian option that she said was great too Well worth a try

Stayed in Alcester for two nights and ate at The Turks Head on both of them, great service wonderful food we would totally recommend it!

Lovely staff and always great food. No allergy menu however when asked can sort you out. Gluten free pescatarian roast dinner enjoyed on many occasions. Wish there was more items on the menu eg vegan sausages without gluten such as the beyond meat brand for a change but fish is fine and appreciated without batter. Staff always super friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.

We were on holiday in the local area and as we walked around Alcester looking for a nice place to eat we asked a passing gentleman for his recommendation. He pointed out The Turks Head and said it was the best pub for food around and to sit “in the back”. We received a warm greeting and a good selection on the menu but not vast. I had the salmon fishcakes, the others in my party had the BBQ burger and the steak. All were excellent. They took a while to arrive but it was obviously it was all freshly cooked including the triple cooked chips. Excellent food, worth the slight delay to get proper fresh food. Excellent service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Came over for dinner on Saturday, 1st of June and everyone and everything was absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much, the staff were amazing and I don't think I'll ever have food in a pub setting that will top it. If I could give a higher score than 5 star then I would

Just been for a lovely meal with family. Accommodated for myself well - pescatarian gluten free. Had a lovely roast dinner with fresh fish and even a cauliflower cheese made. Really appreciate the staff being so helpful and including me. Would highly recommend and make sure you book in advance.

A very busy pub. Saturday night rammed. We had a table booked. The "music" was just instrumental noise. Very strange but they turned it off in our area when we asked as we couldn't hear ourselves think or talk to one another. Food was ok. A different selection to run of the mill pubs which was nice. Everything looked nice. Some things didn't have a huge amount of taste. The fish cakes were ball shaped but didn't have much fish in them. We would return but not on a Saturday night.

Booked this having not been here to meet with a business colleague. It was great, nice selection of drinks and a good food selection. I had the oven roasted cod, sauté potatoes and broccoli. All cooked very well, not too long to wait and piping hot. Good service to boot. Would definately go again.

Booked a table for 7pm. service was excellent within 5mins we had our drinks, had our menus, couple of staff checking.back an forth to see if we were ready to order, place was rammed in the bar as we entered, the lounge was at the rear with plenty of room tables. Food came within 15mins, great service, great staff, really nice tasty food, drink, main meal, pud for £23 a head, kids welcome, all in all a great 65th birthday treat

We stopped by in a weekend trip recently for some lunch and weren't disappointed. The spicy burger and Cajun chicken pitta were both delicious and the real ale was perfectly kept. Highly recommended.

Had a fantastic meal 19/01/24 evening with my family. The pub was rammed but the food and our hostess were utterly superb, nothing was to much trouble. We had visited last summer on a lunchtime and decided to give an evening meal a try, not disappointed everybody loved their food. Will definitely be back and our extended family will be trying to. Thank you to all the staff at the Turks head for a blinding experience 😍

We enjoyed our starters so much we wanted to order them all over again and maybe skip the mains... but a delicious Pizza and a Turks Head Burger didn't disappoint and rounded off a very tasty and enjoyable meal... No room for pud but... like Arnie... "I'll be back..!"... Recommended ;-)

Called in for a quick meal before the footie. Lovely atmosphere, ordered the sticky belly pork starter as a main. Highly recommended it....so tasty. Service was really quick and staff friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back if we were back in Alcester.

Popped in for shared snack with my daughter…ordered a couple of drinks and some chicken bites and fries. We had a couple of bites paid and left. The sauce the chicken was in was horrible, the chips were herby and greasy! Friendly staff though and a nice environment perhaps we were just unlucky but £19 for two pops chicken nugget starter and a side of fries was a tad over priced.

First time dining here after visiting just for drinks before. Highly recommend it after a great meal! The pub was absolutely full bearing in mind it was a Tuesday after BH Monday. Just goes to show what a great pub this is. Great selection of Ales and menus have a fantastic choice. Prices seem to be in line with most places to eat now. My only small criticism is there is only one choice of steak which is high end Aubrey Allen meat. Maybe a slightly more cost effective choice of meat along side this one would be better for most family’s. Highly recommended!

We like this place & visit for Sunday lunch . This time however didn't quite live up to expectations. Our roast potatoes were hard and the beef, promised pink definitely wasn't compared to previous visits. Good interesting assortment of veg though. And reasonably priced wine! Aug 23 just returned for further visit. This time the beef didn't disappoint was both pink & tasty Veg was excellent again but again the potatoes weren't that good, one was definitely stale and the Yorkie hard,, more gravy please!

Friendly, excellent service, excellent beer, excellent food, simple but perfect. Great value too. We had sausage and onion ciabatta rolls with a portion of chips to share, and everything was of very high quality, presented thoughtfully and with care.

This is a proper pub, with great beers, some local, the food is excellent, and well priced. They won the camera award last year, and rightly so.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant place for lunch. On holiday at nearby Karma Salford Hall we came here for lunch. We also visited last Christmas and this was just as good. We sat in the pretty garden area. i had the best fish and chips ever and my husband really enjoyed his bangers and mash. Service with a smile and good value for money. Thanks for a lovely holiday memory.

Lovely place, bar staff very friendly except Dan the manager, spoke to us in an aggressive tone and told us to leave the pub after spending good money in there on food and a few drinks after and keeping ourselfs to ourselfs, he also judged us calling us “Piss heads” after threatening behaviour

Great range of beer in a fascinately designed pub.

Decided on a day out to Alcester and having walked round this lovely village for some time we called in to the Turks Head for much needed lunch and refreshments. Best decision we have made for some time . A marvellous traditional english pub.From a well balanced menu we decided on a meat platter to share and it was absolutely awesome. BBQ brisket slices that melt in your mouth , pork rib bites , chilli and garlic duck ,chorizo sausage ,olives balsamic onions ciabatta slices and salad with dressing . This meal had everything flavour ,texture just the right amount of spice and heat washed down with a glass of "Jimbo" bitter (a new beer to me but one i intend to try again as soon as possible ) well kept , crystal clear and perfect temperature. Well done Turks Head best pub meal I have had in a long time.

We all had a delicious traditional Sunday roast, after a lovely walk in oversley wood.. We finished off with puddings which were also delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. A lovely pub in Alcester.

The food is always excellent (especially the halloumi fries) my daughter has a severe nut allergy and they always accommodate her. The staff are really friendly and welcoming.

I had a really good visit here. The pub is old and cosy with a welcoming fire. There was a good atmosphere when we arrived. We only came for a light meal and chose the vegetarian sharing platter. It was one of the best sharing platters I have eaten. Service was efficient and friendly. I shall be back very soon.

Decided by the off chance to see if i could get a table. The staff assistant was friendly and welcoming. The wait was longer than normal for food to arrive(around 35mins) The food we ordered ( big turk burger & chicken and mayo) was unreal. Great taste and the high light was the big juicy chips.

Lovely welcome from the pleasant staff and roaring Wood fire for our lunchtime visit today. Always best to reserve ahead. Beautiful baked fillet of cod with mushrooms and chorizo, and very reasonable price. Definitely recommended, a fine old English pub restaurant that cares about customer service.

First time at pub. Wanted a quick pub evening meal before a meeting. We had ham, egg and chips, plus a chicken skewer dish which were both excellent the pudding was delicious - chocolate brownie. Good service. Lovely ambiance with a roaring log fire. Great for a quick pub meal.
