The food was excellent. We ordered a pie and a portion of faggots, and found both extremely tasty. The gravy, in particular, was fantastic – flavourful without being too thick or oily. A clear recommendation.

It was a lovely place to walk into, busy and great atmosphere. There were 12 of us, six adults and six children after a bike ride. They were very accepting of the slightly noisy children! The food was really delicious, the menu really is great. All of us wanted to choose lots on there. A bit pricy but worth it. Kids meals lovely too. However, after our meal, the place was fairly empty and it felt like they just forgot about us. They didn’t check on the food, didn’t offer any more drinks even after a couple of times we went up to order some. We then had to go up and ask for plates to be cleared and the dessert menu. No one came to ask our orders for pudding so after 25 minutes we gave up and paid at the bar. The waitress and one other member of staff were just stood there chatting, and didn’t apologise. We left wondering if we’d annoyed them and sad we couldn’t have pudding! We would’ve spent another 100 at least with coffees too! A lot of places let things down once the food is served, it was a shame as we thought we’d found our new favourite pub for after bike rides!

Was invited to join family for a lunchtime meal at the Bell Inn. Upon arriving the pub looked Very attractive from the outside, there was plenty of parking and when walking into the pub the garden looked really well set out. Once seated we ordered drinks, I was a little disappointed as I had to return my pint of ale as it wasn't clear and had a slight twang to it, they replaced it with another ale and this wasn't a problem. After ordering our food, about 30mins later it was served by 3 busy staff, the food was presented quite nicely. 3 of us had the homemade pie, which you could tell it was homemade, a slight let down was the buttery green veg came in a bowl and we were all sat at different ends of the table, people had to pass along. The pie had plenty of good sized chunks of beef, more than any other pie I've ever had (so a thumbs up for that) but a little let down I had a couple of not so good pieces, a little chewy (maybe I was just unlucky). The belly pork looked really nice but was let down by not having a crackling or crisp top. Only one of the salad's some of the lettuce on the edges were brown. The staff were helpful and friendly, they knew when to come over and check if anyone needed more drinks. So on to my final question would I go back? I think I would as it was a nice venue and hopefully these little touches could of been put right.

Great place that's at the higher end of pub food quality. None of my party could fault the food, very nice. Sat outside but the atmosphere inside seemed very cosy. A friend suggested that they served the nicest pint of UBU he'd ever tasted and I think I have to agree that they probably do - well I guess it only has to come from a few miles up the road. Popular and busy so you need to book.

Lovely garden, food was good. Always happy to see a separate vegan menu with decent options - the sticky toffee pudding in particular! Lost a star for service as the woman taking our orders at the bar was incredibly snappy, spoke to us without looking at us, and acted as though we were being unreasonable, merely ordering our desserts on two transactions. I understand it was a busy Sunday but we walked out laughing in shock at her attitude. Food came out quickly, husband enjoyed his roast, the waiters were pleasant. Looked very cosy inside. Nice location too for a little walk by the river.

Fabulous pub 😀 we had been out for a drive and found this place on our way home. We asked the lady as you enter the bar if there was a table for 2 available and she promptly found us one by the fire 🔥 Lovely atmosphere, The food was delicious, I had the faggots(they were lovely) and my partner had the pork shoulder off the specials board, all was cooked to perfection. We followed our main with a dessert, chocolate tart with forest fruits and sticky toffee pudding which was huge! What a fabulous experience we had here. Not only were the staff attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful but the food was absolutely first class. Starters of prawn cocktail (plentiful and fresh) and scotch egg (perfectly cooked yolk and very tasty meat). Beef was excellent with delicious vegetables and my crispy bacon salad was indeed crispy - Yaay! House red was a very pleasant surprise. The sticky toffee pudding was probably the best I’ve ever had. Creme brûlée was also excellent. We then had the cheeseboard as another family member unexpectedly joined us. Despite us having finished our puddings he was willingly accommodated and was as impressed with his meal. I thoroughly recommend this place, especially with roaring log fires at lunch time.

I went in for food with my family on new years day as a family tradition. Safe to say the bell inn has continued to go down hill since covid. The blonde woman who took our food order was cold, rude and uninterested. She spent most her time leaning by the door and side-eying the young staff. The middle aged woman who took away our plates didnt even ask if we had finished or how the food was (which in honesty was poor and bland compared to years past.) I understand that it was a busy day however the teenagers rushed off their feet would have had an easier time if any of the older who I assume were management took a moment to step in. Safe to say we will be going to the four alls next year.

Went there with work colleagues on a Thursday evening and arrived around 5.30 and it was quiet when we arrived. The staff were very helpful taking us to our prebooked table and getting our drinks. There were two choices of menu, the standard daily menu, and a Christmas one. The range of meals on both were wide-ranging and suited all tastes, including vegetarian and vegan. All of our party ordered something different and each one was tasty and plentiful. Three courses are available, but we went straight to the main and then asked for the sweets menu. One of my colleagues ordered the chocolate brownie and was overwhelmed with the size of it, it was much bigger than she expected !!. By the time we finished our meal, around seven the place was getting busy. All in all, a lovely meal, set in a beautiful olde world pub. One word of caution to anyone over six feet tall...be prepared to have a cricked neck, the ceilings in the main bar areas are extremely low, so mind your head !!.

I am a wheelchair user. We intended to have lunch at the pub to check out accessibility. The pub has a very good reputation for food and drink. However , accessibility is abysmal! The pub is side on to the road and there is front and rear access. The front door is narrow with a high step, just about wheelchair possible, but an inner, outward-opening, lobby door reduces the width, preventing any wheelchair access. The rear door is via the garden, off the large car park. The rear entrance is wide enough for a wheelchair, taking you past a gents toilet and a ladies toilet, both with one step up and narrow doors. No accessible toilet. You enter the pub to be confronted by one step down to a lobby area, then one step up to the main eating area. A total block to a wheelchair! The garden has a timber circular seating shelter, near the back door - not accessible. A steep windy path leads into the back garden. Not inviting if in a wheelchair. 3 disabled parking spaces are located by the rear garden entrance. However they are normal sized spaces so not suitable for wheelchair users! There is a 4th, unsigned , space next to the other 3, and if the whole block was 3 disabled spaces only they would be much more usable. However, that would be pointless as the pub is wheelchair inaccessible anyway, whether going in the front or back!

Inside we found a characterful and busy bar/restaurant and extremely friendly staff. We hadn't booked as just stumbeled upon it, but were made very welcome and offered a table for two in spite of there obviously being many other diners who had booked. I wasn't planning to write a review as I wanted to keep this one to myself (it's too good to share) but when booking for the 7th time in the last 2 months I noticed a few 1 star reviews which frankly amazed me. First time I went was when England played their penultimate game in Euros - my wife and I were the only ones in the pub - so service was obviously as good as it could possibly be. We still made it back in time to watch the game. Our subsequent visits have been to a much busier pub and my experience of The Bell couldn't be improved on - that's echoed by all who've been with me to eat there - friends and family alike. The staff are all really friendly with us, helpful and attentive. I think it's reasonable to wait 5 mins or so for your drink order etc to be taken (someone moaned about that in a review) - this gives you time to settle in etc. and look at the menu (or talk to each other if you enjoy the company you keep?) I haven't waited longer than that at this pub. The food I've had at The Bell has been nothing short of fabulous - every time - hence I've been re-booking - so far 7 meals and all brilliant! Just a few days prior our most recent visit (yesterday) we had Sunday Lunch at The Blue Boar in Westminster (no complaints there and they score pretty high in reviews too) and we both scored The Bell ahead and it comes in at a very small fraction of the cost of the Boar too! I can say in all honesty this is my new favourite pub to eat out ...by miles.

Gezellige Inn met gewoon goed eten voor een redelijke prijs. De beste Inn in een straal van 5 mijl, wij verbleven in een B&B op enige afstand van de Bell Inn.

Friendly and welcoming pub, great outdoor space and menu is very good. Prices are what they are, but the quality is there to help justify.

Enjoyed a lovely evening for our wedding anniversary this evening. Food was excellent, especially as I need gluten free and often struggle to find such great choice. All the staff were friendly and cheerful. Everything was well organised and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was calm, friendly and happy. Loved everything about this pub, wish we could visit weekly!!

A very busy wee pub, the service was excellent, the food was very well presented and of high quality and we enjoyed our chat with the charming owners. All in all, a lovely lunch.

Lovely pub, with a beautiful beer garden. Friendly, pleasant staff, & a decent menu. We had mozzarella sticks with garlic mayo which was lovely, then roast beef, unfortunately it was a little gristly, and the vegetables were undercooked. The roast potatoes were lovely, as was the parsnip unfortunately there wasn't much of it. It came with a very small bowl of mashed sweet potato and a jug of gravy. I would come again but I wouldn't order the beef.

I visited for a Sunday lunch with my family. We had a dog and a baby with us. We were allocated a nice table, but the space for the dog and high chair was a little squashed in bedside the neighbouring table. The waitress was incredibly helpful in preparing some baby food for me. She was also quick to take our drink and food order. Unfortunately we experienced a very long wait for our food. After one hour of waiting, it was difficult to enjoy the meal as my child was ready to leave! Because of this, our drinks were removed from our bill. This was a kind gesture. The food could have been better. It was acceptable, but the presentation was very standard, and the beef on the roast was overcooked.

Lovely village pub with great outside garden, did not eat but the food looked good. Prices are a bit on the high side for drinks. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful pub, friendly staff, lovely beer garden. Came here today for a drink & lunch, food was fairly good, (roast beef) although afterwards I thought I should have had the pork! Generous portions, didn't have room for dessert! Maybe next time... ☺️

Great staff, Matty and Soph always look after everyone to the best ability. Reasonably priced beer for the area and great loyalty rewards. Always a good crowd and that really makes for a brilliant experience. Always events and different things going on, would always recommend to anyone in the area.

We stayed here and went to the restaurant to find it set for breakfast. On check out we discovered it had been closed for a year which caused issues as I’m type 1 diabetic! Shame also as the reviews were fantastic
