The food is excellent and Tracy was especially friendly and helpful. Tracy goes above and beyond for people and makes you feel at home. It is high quality food for a very reasonable price, highly recommended.

Me and my children visited barley mow for the first time on New Year’s Eve , we wasn’t greeted by any member off staff and i had to walk around with all three toddlers looking for a table with our name on it, the fact the whole restraunt was pretty much empty should have told me enough really … after several minutes we managed to find our table and when I asked a member of staff regarding how to order on the app she stated she didn’t know and walked off! I finally managed to order some food via the app and although all kids eat for £1 we were charged full price for all 3 meals (children’s ) , whilst waiting for their food , I requested some crayons and paper for my children to draw on I was told were they were and to go get them my self ! upon arrival of the children’s pizza to be specific it came with cucumber sticks (which I did. It order as neither children like these) when I questioned as to why they weren’t chips which I had selected on my order the lady responded very rudely how she hasn’t got enough hands to carry everything at once which is completely understable but the way she approached the question was appalling !! I apologised on my behalf as I didn’t realise and again she rolled her eyes and walked off from our table ! When I then went to get both mine and my friends carvery we had to wait a while for the chef to come out , when he did he was well mannered which was a start however half of the vegetable selection wasn’t put out and I had to go back to my table and wait for it which then made my food cold !! I didn’t complain at this point as my children had almost finished their dinner and I just wanted to eat mine before they began to get bored and restless ! The Yorkshire puddings were rock solid , along with the stuffing and roasters . The only thing that was hot on my plate was the couliflour cheese and carrots and that was only because they had just been made , it was almost like the food had been sat there for a while due to the restraunt being empty … the meat was absolutely disgusting and the gravy was so watery it fell off my plate the moment I poured it on .. half of the staff were stood around laughing and joking whilst we had to wait ages for our drink , which made all of my children restless as they had finished majority of their meal and was clearly thirsty! All in all this is probably the worst experience I have had at a stonehouse carvery and unfortunately I don’t think I will be taking my children back here without satisfaction that 1. The food is more delightful to eat and is ready at the same time and 2.The customer service is a lot better because majority of the members of staff were nothing but rude to me even when I tried to be understandable about their faults !!! For £56 this was atrocious and I’ve had nothing but an awful tummy ache since and so has my friend who attended with me !

Visited on Christmas day on an early sitting, everything from start to finish was excellent, the staff completed the whole operation with clockwork precision, staff were efficient, chef and food was lovely and a really nice atmosphere.

Went to Barley Mow in Studley on Boxing Day. Opted for the chicken burger meal. Most disgusting food I have ever been served. Wouldn't feed to my worst enemy. Chef should be sacked for cooking such slop. Avoid at all cost

Food was terrible, kids food was hard and overcooked. Carvery looked like it had been sat out for hours, Turkey was completely hard and dry. All stale and inedible. Was cold inside the restaurant, chairs were all torn up with big holes in seat. No straws available for children. Terrible experience, we got out of there as quickly as possible. Will not return.

Excellent choice of food, vegetarian menu very good. All food cooked perfectly. Carvery is excellent value. Nice choice of puddings / sweets. They even sell zero alcohol Guinness !! We were booked to n for Boxing Day, on Christmas Day our guests asked to stay an extra day. Rang the pub and they happily changed our booking for 2 extra. The 2 waitresses were brilliant and our was typically delicious, Hot, tasty and plentiful. 2 of us had the Christmas Menu choosing the vegetarian options to make a change from turkey, which was fabulous. We hope to book for Christmas Day next year as this place has never given us poor service or food.

All the stuff are lovely and the food is always gorgeous!

Keep giving this pub restaurant another chance on carveries and breakfasts and they consistently disappoint. Decided to go for breakfast, £22 for two, decided not to be greedy and chose two sons, two bacon, hash brown, one egg, tomatoes and beans and black pudding. As I picked up each item my stomach churned a little, all swimming in fat and grease in their trays except the fried slices. The black pudding looked like lumps of coal, not normal slices. The bacon was soft and greasy and did not taste like bacon, the egg was little more than a yolk bathed in grease, dunno why the whites of the eggs were cut away. I ate the sausages, tried all the rest and only the tomatoes and beans tasted as they should. The rest was just tasteless and full of grease and I left the lot and got two slices of toast with marmalade, and the butter portions were warm and runny, disgusting. The tea was fine, with a policy of fill up as many times as you want, but after trying the food I just wanted to come home in case I felt sick. There's no way I could have put that much grease and fat down my throat. Bar staff lovely, bald manager a bit of an arrogant vibe, acted like he owned the place and brusque with customers. Not a nice start to our Sunday after all, went from a rare treat to a big mistake. Just don't waste your money.

My friend is vegetarian and had the plant based chicken who said it was lovely but most impressed it was offered normally has to pay full price but only get variables . Do well done !!! Great customer service recieved.

Typical of a Stonehouse Carvery, reasonably priced food and drinks with offers on throughout the week. It can get busy at the main meal times particularly on Sundays. Everybody loves a Carvery right. Easy to find on the Studley roundabout, this historic former coaching house still has its charm. It has a decent sized car park but you must remember to insert your registration. It's what it says on the tin.

We visited to use a birthday free main meal offer but the computer said no . The carvery vegetables were overcooked and only just warm so not enjoyable. We couldn't understand why the vegetarian burger options didn't come with chips as standard like the meat options . The vegetarian burger option didn't meet expectations. The puddings were fine. The room was cold. Not an experience we are going to repeat soon as it was not good value, very disappointing for a belated birthday lunch

I have regularly visited this carvery over the past four years. Today, being my birthday, and I decided to treat myself and my wife. Once again the food, service and experience was amazing. Kit served us and went above and beyond to ensure our visit was as good as it could be. Thank you so much. I love the beef and it is what I always order. Superb. The veg as always, was perfectly prepared and displayed. The surprise chocolate cake was a real bonus. Thank you Kit.

Had some pretty awful meals here over the last 12 months, food has been quite inconsistant, however, my Philly Steak burger yesterday was delicious. The Chef clearly takes pride in his cooking as it looked as amazing as it tasted. Our guests said the carvery was lovely too which they were taking a punt on as they've had some pretty awful sloppy ones in the past from here. We will definitely return more frequently if they keep up this new standard.

Very quick service, carvery was delicious

Well I do not know where to start the pub was cold but the staff was very welcoming I ordered the cheese and bacon burger my friend ordered the carvery when my friend went to get her carvery the choice of meat was turkey or beef the beef was still mooing the vegetables were cold and the gravy was gloopy I ordered the cheese and bacon burger when it arrived at our table the chips were Rick hard so very under cooked and my beef patties otherwise known as burgers were drowning in grease I believe they were chucked in the deep fat frier I tried to eat my meal but it was bloody awful the dessert we ordered was actually quite nice when my friend complained the lady in charge was very very helpful and I applaud her so very very much she handled the situation so well calm and to the point sh ed definitely deserves a big pat on the back she was amazing bug despised efforts I personally would never go there again in the past I have always enjoyed my food here but never again which is a shame cos I was definitely disappointed x

We had a children’s pizza making party at the Barley Mow. Price per head is very reasonable. Staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating. They catered well for one of the children who is gluten intolerant. Overall a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend .

We have often attended The Barley Mow for our go to place for a carvery. However over the last few months we have seen a decline in food standards. Unfortunately our last visit was very poor indeed. Considering there was at least an hour and a half left for service there was no beef as it had been reserved for online takeaway orders and the standard of the vegetables & potatoes was very very poor all dried up and very little offered. Considering your Sunday carvery is a 30% price increase compared to your week day carvery with very little difference in the food offered it is far from worth the money. We are now looking for another place to go as we can't be guaranteed quality of food here anymore.

Stay clear from this on Uber Eats £16 for this this is a disgrace go to the golden goose This is supposed to be the full works barely any meat more mashed potato than roast potatoes all tasted like water half a pot of gravy this place has gone downhill you need to sack your chef because everything tastes bland. Unfortunately this was a disappointing visit. Came for a Sunday carvery and the restaurant was packed (as expected.) We ordered via online table service which made it a lot quicker. Carvery was bland and disappointing, the cauliflower cheese was very watery and some of the carrots were grey and had a funny defrosted taste. We understand seasoning is limited due to catering for the masses but no flavour at all was disappointing. The carvery chef also seemed very focus on takeaway meals and didn’t acknowledge people were waiting, then when they served it felt like we were waisting their time and served paper thin bits of dry meat.

Good carvery at a reasonable price

I got a parking fine from here even though I ate at the barley mow, I phoned up to see if the manager could sort this for me and I was pleasantly surprised with how willing and helpful Melissa was both over the phone and on email, they made me feel as though it wasn't a hassle and that they were happy to help, the fine was cancelled and panic was averted, if anyone gets a ticket when they were using this premises, just phone up and don't panic.

We are regular visitors to this restaurant and have always received excellent service and the food is top notch.The carvery today was delicious, particularly the meats which were all well cooked and melted in the mouth. Our waitress Katherine was friendly, attentive and efficient which made our whole experience perfect. Looking forward to our next visit.

There was a party of about 85 of us we were well impressed with the service. It only took them about an hour and a half to serve. All of us. Staff were very friendly and kind. The meal was excellent thank you.

I visited the Barley Mow in Late September for a Carvery. It was a very pleasant experience with the friendly staff serving me quickly with no fuss. I opted for carvery, but there were many options available. The food itself was tasty & the vegetables cooked properly. The best was the roasted potatoes, which were crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. The cost was reasonable too. All in all I'd recommend the pub for a good meal in clean & comfy surroundings.

As a regular customer here I have to say Today two coach loads of customers 95 in total came in for Booking for lunch at 1pm .The staff were incredible Mel, Abi, Kat,Kit and of course all the action in the kitchen .Credit to them all .Well Dine Masterclass xxxxxxxx

We visit here often, the food is always lovely, presented nicely and the flavour is fantastic. Our daughter has an eating disorder and always request the chicken burger with no salad and this is done for her. The staff are lovely and friendly and nothing is a problem for them. We visit either lunchtime or evenings and the meals are fantastic.

My toy boy ( kidding) Kyle who served meat was ever so chirpy and made our visit feel comfortable and then I have to say the food was absolutely yummy and worth it and was nice to see all sauces to choose from plus Kyle brought apple sauce to table all this alone sold me but then I’m told be sister can have pudding cheaper if ordered with meal so I asked if could change this and summer who was so friendly and helpful she changed the order and she checked in on us too , I must say cheerful staff do make a difference, it’s nice to be nice . Well done barley mow with choosing right staff personality’s. Top marks all round
