Carvery was ok , Chicken burger was ok , chicken was a bit dry and chips slightly under cooked , Service Quite Slow , waitress very helpful

Fantastic meal as usual ! It was my mom’s favourite place for a carvery but sadly we lost her last year so i was sad to be there without her but happy memories with her at the same time ! We used to travel from kings Heath to visit the Barley Mow as there was nowhere else to beat it xx

We have often attended The Barley Mow for our go to place for a carvery. However over the last few months we have seen a decline in food standards. Unfortunately our last visit was very poor indeed. Considering there was at least an hour and a half left for service there was no beef as it had been reserved for online takeaway orders and the standard of the vegetables & potatoes was very very poor all dried up and very little offered. Considering your Sunday carvery is a 30% price increase compared to your week day carvery with very little difference in the food offered it is far from worth the money. We are now looking for another place to go as we can't be guaranteed quality of food here anymore.

We had a lovely breakfast here, kids ate for £1 and it was nice food. Our waitress was Summer and she was very helpful and friendly and interacted with the children. We will be back.

Stay clear from this on Uber Eats £16 for this this is a disgrace go to the golden goose This is supposed to be the full works barely any meat more mashed potato than roast potatoes all tasted like water half a pot of gravy this place has gone downhill you need to sack your chef because everything tastes bland. No love in that kitchen whatsoever or when preparing the food.

Unfortunately this was a disappointing visit. Came for a Sunday carvery and the restaurant was packed (as expected.) We ordered via online table service which made it a lot quicker. Carvery was bland and disappointing, the cauliflower cheese was very watery and some of the carrots were grey and had a funny defrosted taste. We understand seasoning is limited due to catering for the masses but no flavour at all was disappointing. The carvery chef also seemed very focus on takeaway meals and didn’t acknowledge people were waiting, then when they served it felt like we were waisting their time and served paper thin bits of dry meat.

Always have a lovely meal here. Service always great, Shaun always pleasant and friendly.

Good carvery at a reasonable price

I got a parking fine from here even though I ate at the barley mow, I phoned up to see if the manager could sort this for me and I was pleasantly surprised with how willing and helpful Melissa was both over the phone and on email, they made me feel as though it wasn't a hassle and that they were happy to help, the fine was cancelled and panic was averted, if anyone gets a ticket when they were using this premises, just phone up and don't panic.

We are regular visitors to this restaurant and have always received excellent service and the food is top notch.The carvery today was delicious, particularly the meats which were all well cooked and melted in the mouth. Our waitress Katherine was friendly, attentive and efficient which made our whole experience perfect. Looking forward to our next visit.

Abi was very warm and welcoming, happy to help us order our breakfast which was lovely! Also come to check on us and asked if our food was okay. Thank you for making our morning great!

Absolutely lovely pub! Staff were so kind and helpful especially Abi and Kit! Food was lovely and atmosphere was so cozy for the cold night! Kids had lots of fun in the play area and on the claw machine, me and my friend Helen had such a great time.

Didn't stay half of the seating area barried off, so nowhere to sit, so we went somewhere else. Bad form Barley Mow.

There was a party of about 85 of us we were well impressed with the service. It only took them about an hour and a half to serve. All of us. Staff were very friendly and kind. The meal was excellent thank you.

I visited the Barley Mow in Late September for a Carvery. It was a very pleasant experience with the friendly staff serving me quickly with no fuss. I opted for carvery, but there were many options available. The food itself was tasty & the vegetables cooked properly. The best was the roasted potatoes, which were crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. The cost was reasonable too. All in all I'd recommend the pub for a good meal in clean & comfy surroundings.

As a regular customer here I have to say Today two coach loads of customers 95 in total came in for Booking for lunch at 1pm .The staff were incredible Mel, Abi, Kat,Kit and of course all the action in the kitchen .Credit to them all .Well Dine Masterclass xxxxxxxx

We visit here often, the food is always lovely, presented nicely and the flavour is fantastic. Our daughter has an eating disorder and always request the chicken burger with no salad and this is done for her. The staff are lovely and friendly and nothing is a problem for them. We visit either lunchtime or evenings and the meals are fantastic.

My toy boy ( kidding) Kyle who served meat was ever so chirpy and made our visit feel comfortable and then I have to say the food was absolutely yummy and worth it and was nice to see all sauces to choose from plus Kyle brought apple sauce to table all this alone sold me but then I’m told be sister can have pudding cheaper if ordered with meal so I asked if could change this and summer who was so friendly and helpful she changed the order and she checked in on us too , I must say cheerful staff do make a difference, it’s nice to be nice . This isn’t my first visit to this establishment, each time I eat here, the food is wonderful and the service is fantastic! I was looked after today by Kyle and Summer, two really bubbly and attentive people. We didn’t know about a special offer on desserts, summer told us about it and saved us some money!!! The prices are very reasonable too. Highly recommend eating here. Gilly :)

Saturday lunchtine carvery for just £8.99 per head, very good value for money. There were 3 roasts to choose from and endless tasty vegetables. Excellent meal.

Reasonable priced carvery, nice food. Just make sure you book your car in as there are cameras in the car park.

Fantastic 'all you can eat' breakfast for a very good price. Everything was hot and clean ... and Tracey even went through the menu with our 2 year old daughter to make sure everything was there! 😀

We had a beef carvery and a gammon & beef carvery with pigs in blankets. We both said how soft and tasty the beef was. The gammon was the same. Table service via the QR CODE was fast and the staff were very polite. We have been for breakfast in the past too and they have a good choice of foods. Thankyou Tracy, we had a lovely meal and enjoyed our time here.

No one to greet us, saw a sign on table by entrance inviting us to find a table, despite having a booking. No, table service, so had to use an app to order drinks and food. Table was sticky and unclean, chairs were torn and patched. Food (pizza and carvery) OK. Very apparent cost cutting and cheapness. Wouldn’t recommend and unlikely to return.

Summer was fantastic, so helpful and attentive

Although the meal was ok, there seemed to be little taste in the veg. The meat was tasty and plentiful and everything was hot. The premises could do with an upgrade as it looks tired and dated and the menus need a good clean as some were sticky and unhygienic. Not a place I'd go for a special occasion but it was cheap and cheerful and served its purpose.

I booked a table online which was easy and it was ready and marked up when we arrived 40 minutes later. We ordered using the app which is a bit slow, but works. The food was really tasty, the service was prompt and Tracey who was serving came to check on a special request I'd made. Highly recommend the pizzas! Thanks

Guys you need to change the container you use for take away breakfasts. It’s way too small. I just received mine and it’s all soggy and wet. It’s inedible. It’s also missing the eggs. The fried bread and waffle were beyond soggy, the bacon is wet and fatty, black pudding is is falling apart it’s so soggy. I actually feel unwell just looking at it. You can’t put a full English in a tiny bowl. I usually order breakfast from the golden goose, but they were offline. Their breakfast is absolutely exceptional. Hate wasting my money like this.

Haven't visited in a while as we live directly opposite a carvery pub in Redditch. We will not be visiting again as we were very disappointed! Very little choice of vegetables. The app was not working, so I couldn't get my 25% discount. Had to edit my review as I could not respond to your answer.... Choice of: Green Beans. Carrots. Peas. Not really a substantial amount to choose from. As for the app, I showed a member of staff who said they would need to speak to 'I.T.' She could clearly see on my phone even after restarting my app it was not working?.. So yes, my personal experience was a bad one, and as far as I'm concerned, my review was honest and nothing but factual.

We arrived shortly before the end of food service. Parked in what seemed to be the pub car park.But they accepted our order. The food was mediocre. No smiles from the staff. A couple of weeks later I get a ticket for parking. £60! There were no signs to say it was not the pub car park. No signs to say you had to register your car at the bar/desk. Nothing

Been here numerous times, always good food and great service.

I occasionally come here with my family for a carvery meal, but was left more disappointed after each visit. On Saturday the 26th of May, we were still left extremely hungry. The chef barely gave us any meat, and by that I mean it has a thickness of a piece of paper. You cannot expect us to try and fill ourselves up with potatoes and vegetables. Cauliflower and cheese were also bland, I don’t know how you could make the cheese sauce taste like water. Until they improved on this we probably will not be coming back anytime soon.

Great friendly staff trying their very best to keep it going, breakfast was awful, the toaster has seen better days....paid extra for mushrooms, well paid extra for a mouthful of oil(deep fried) food was cold to luke warm, only good thing was the coffee was good, screaming baby's/kids aswell, wont be going back again, as i said friendly polite staff trying to mask it over, shame really.

I visited here the last weekend. The food was ok, nothing too special but I only had Mac and cheese. I can't speak for the other dishes. We had a set price option but with ordering using the website, I'm not really sure if it worked. I didn't inspect the bill. One thing is when ordering, you have to choose a tip but that's before you have had any interaction with staff or know how good the meal and service are. maybe order food first then order drinks after food and leave a tip then or leave cash when leaving. Drinks were good. Parking was free for 4 hours after entering your registration number into the tablet inside. Plenty of space. We booked ahead, no issue. The only minor complaint would be the waitress not really knowing things like the kids meal including free desert. Also getting the desert bowls, we had to ask after sitting around with mostly empty plates after dinner for a while. they might have been leaving us to chat though and one of the kids plates was half full although done with. Friendly staff. I would probably visit again if I'm back in the area.

We went as a birthday celebration on Sunday. There were plenty of vegetables (don’t know about being seasonal as they appear to be frozen!) and choice of meat. At £11.99 we do not think one slice of pork and one slice of turkey (very thin slices) is value for money. Frozen Yorkshire puddings not fresh. One big pot of stodgy stuck together stuffing? Really .. can’t you do a bit better and at least give value for money, especially in today’s economic struggles. Disappointed,

Our first and probably last carvery. Although there was a good selection of vegetables and meat. I do not think one slice of pork and one slice of turkey is worth the £11.99 charge, especially in today’s economic climate, we all want value for money? Shame as a nice restaurant, clean and tidy with friendly staff.
