Chips not very good a bit soggy. Fish never again

The chips were undercooked and a bit bland. The chicken nuggets were kinda tasteless but the batter wasn't too bad. The curry sauce was ok too, but I've had better. For the money I paid I was not impressed. We actually thought we had ordered from the other Alcester fish bar in the square (insane having such a similar name) and went to the wrong shop to collect our order, only to be told we were in the wrong place (we were on holiday so not locals). We know for next time.

Unfortunately having had take aways from here for many years the latest meal fell very short of the unusual standards. Large cod was small and not £8.50 worth & chips very poor, dry and lots of potato eyes and black bits - disappointed and well below usual standard.

Bought what I thought was a large cod and chips to be fair I felt cheated. The chips were OK but the total meal was not value for money. Normally this is one of the best chippies around but tonight not very good

Absolutely tiny portion sizes, do not recommend this place anymore, ‘Large’ chips is the same as a small from the other chip shop by Waitrose. 100% will be going there from now on, easy to see why there’s always a long queue now!

Apparently the amount of chips pictured is a large chips. Definitely not a large portion. And £5.50 is disgraceful.

Tasty but i now have salmonella

Went to this Fish and Chip shop today (Saturday) and got completely done over. Three fish and chips came to £29.00! I could have eaten fish and chips at a pub for £8.50 and had the use of facilities including a table to eat at. This was a ridiculous price for what was meant to be 3 normal portions. When i complained i was told the fish was large (I have taken a photo because it was the smallest piece of fish I have ever had from a fish and chip shop) Do not use this fish and chip shop, there is one much better by Waitrose!

This is a great chippy! We recently moved to Wilmcote and have been trying to find a good local chippy, this fish bar has become our favourite. I have cod, my partner has chicken kebab on a pitta and we share chips, portions are good and the kebab is always loaded with meat. Only pain is sometimes they leave the chips wrapped up on the counter by the open door while they prep the kebab meaning after that and our drive home the chips aren’t as hot as I’d like, but to be fair I think I will just ask them to do the chips last next time.

Should have paid attention to the lack of queue, at tea time on a weekday. It was a red flag in hindsight. An Absolute rip off, ordered large cod and chips, hoping the chips would feed the whole family, (you know, like other chip shop portions usually do) instead came out with what appears to be an undercooked kids meal, for over £11. Absolutely disgusted. Avoid at all costs!!!!

Discusting, under cooked chips! Stuck to the paper. Large portion was a small size. Not first time the chips have been gross. Never be going again! Need to learn how to cook chips, not exactly rocket science.

Excellent quality fish and chips and great sized portions. Wasn't sure what to expect after mixed reviews but i would definitely recommend it.

Sorry to say but the fish I had with my chips was very disappointing. I don't know how long the fish had been left for but when I opened the fish from the batter there was hardly any fish it was all rock hard batter. In all my years of eating fish and chips I have never had a piece of fish that was so lacking in FISH. Chips were average.

When you have chips left from dinnertime throw them in the bin don’t keep them warm until teatime they are disgusting Lamb donna God knows how long it has been in the pot but it was like eating cardboard Fish was that greasy might as well go to the shop and buy a bottle of oil and drink it Won’t be going there again

Good evening, 3.8 , criminal!! Wheather north , south, east or west, genuinely you'd struggle to find a better fish & chip shop. The Donna meat delicious too. Massive portions and in my top 2 chippys national wide. A catagoric 5. Must try💯🤙

Very good chip shop, I love it and I love the owners son, he is a top lad, he is a couch potato though, pretty hot, he often inexplicably smells of Fish and Chips, nice guy though we played Just Dance 2015 for 9 hours straight until he had an embolism

Visited last night. Social distancing all strictly observed. Generous portions. First takeaway since Lockdown and it was very tasty.

This place has gone down hill. Undercooked chips, 2 hairs found in food. Will be going to Alcester Square from now on.

The food and service is fantastic. The staff are fun and fast and compared to some other local chip shops everything is cooked fresh to order.

If I could give minus 5 stars I would!! Bloody dreadful food. Chips ice cold. Kebabs red in the middle, not cooked fully. Hoping to god I do not get food poisoning from the small amount I did try and eat as didn't want to waste money. I will NEVER go back there again. And to see in the reviews people have had food poisoning is scary, more than one person!!! Didn't get everything ordered even though it was WRITTEN DOWN. Don't waste your money. Plus the blonde young lady behind the counter was so bloody rude and had the attitude of a 13 year old girl going through puberty!!!!

If I could leave 0 stars I would very poor service, young blonde girl behind the counter has very bad attitude, chips were served cold and with more grease on than an old tractors transmission, parts of the order was missing which shows how much attention was paid to the order worst meal I have ever paid good money for I'd rather sellotape 20 pound notes to pigeons then give them my money ever again... I wish you all the best if u chose to eat there and if you survive well done. 👍

Service was done by a very rude girl, felt like I shouldn't have been there! Chips were cold, kebab's were not enable and we didn't even get the 2 large curry sauces we ordered and paid for! Won't be parting with my hard earn cash there again,!

If there was an option to choose 0 STARS then i would!!!!! I ordered a doner burger and got food poisoning from the meat. I have never felt so ill in my life. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO NEVER USE THIS CHIPPY!!!!

Went in saw nice looking large fish at the front of the counter ...once ordered they took a small fish from the rear ?? Walked to hotel 200 yards bag was falling to bits with grease when I got there ....small fish had batter like packing card board very greasy too...chips were ok ish had asked for lots of salt and vinegar could taste either so didn’t eat so for me not good

I regularly have standard fish, chips and mushy peas and nothing else so can't vouch for the meat. At the time of writing you can get a decent medium fish and chip special for £4.20. Hope it stays there for years to come.

Eating there for some time. Today I had worst food ever. Ordered food for £3 and chicken kebab was un grilled. Returned food the place and I'm sure I will not order again. Seen few times when man put part old chicken and part of fresh with loads sauce just to cover taste.

Food okay owner looks miserable and the staff don't look happy shame really
