Super place for good, simple food in a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Very clean. Staff extremely helpful - the cook even came out from the kitchen as we'd asked how the delicious Beef in Guinness with Colcannon (their special that evening) was made. We had a dog with us, so ate in the pub bit rather than in their dining room, and it was delightful - a number of very pleasant customers, young and old, enjoying it - AND NO JUKEBOX!!! Other things on the menu - burgers (with lots of fabulous sauces), pizza, fish & chips, another special (boeuf bourguignon), etc.

A wonderful country pub with great atmosphere and delicious food. The White Hart is very much the epitome of an old English pub with original features and friendly, attentive staff. Food is home cooked, has good portion sizes and a varied menu; excellent value for money. We visited twice and both times the place was very busy yet food was still delivered promptly and piping hot. I fully recommend a stop here and will definitely be returning.

Stopped here for a few drinks on a very hot day, service was good and friendly . We didn’t have any food but did sit outside. Was nice to sit and watch the world go by. Decor inside a bit dated and as others have said could do with a refresh or clean up. Saying that, place was quite busy so obviously doesn’t keep the locals away

Oh dear, it could be so much better. To start with it needs a spring clean and some. Dirty stone floor, carpets filthy, walls need a new coat of emulsion etc etc. Staff- two young ladies very helpful, no complaints towards them, however the chef needs to ensure that when the food comes out it is actually HOT. My wife’s Turkey was warm, the carrots cold and even the bowls the vegetables were served in were cold. Interesting that the spare ribs were sizzling hot, so he can get something right. Disappointed I am afraid

Staff are very friendly and do a wonderful job. Our meal was tasty (haddock, chips & peas). Pudding was home made and was excellent. To finish the evening off the chef did us an excellent liquor coffee, not listed on the drinks menu, but we asked and they delivered. Overall a very good experience and it appears a business growing and eager to please the customers. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 from us. Keep it up. I'd highly recommend and will come back next time we are in the area.

Sad to say this village pub is so disappointing. The food is mediocre at best, though nicely served. The place, in my view, could do with a thorough clean. The floors are grubby, the tables needed wiping and the seats are covered in marks. The toilets are like something from 1970’s . Soap but no sanitiser or maybe the other way round I couldn’t say. Quite full with drinkers which was nice to see, but please get the place cleaned up

Me and my husband were actually in route to another restaurant for lunch but I booked the wrong day 🤣. We drive past here daily and thought today we would pop in. First of all the land lord was extremely welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We ordered a pizza and the main of a chicken ceaser salad both were delicious. ( excuse the picture the egg was on top of the salad I decided to take a picture after !) However there was much more to choose from ! We will definatly will be coming back soon!!!

Went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with family. The White Hart is a nice small pub located on the outskirts of Warwick. We chose not to get starters but we did get a few nibbles such as the Camembert which was good but nothing special. We all had a roast lunch for mains considering it was a Sunday afternoon and I always love roast dinners. I thought the food was rather underwhelming, it looked great however I hoped for more. Overall the White Hart is a nice pub but the food is nothing but average. A mediocre experience.

I visited yesterday with family for a Christmas catch up over lunch. My MiL called to book the table a few months ago, and asked if there is suitable food for vegetarians which they said yes. However upon arrival the Christmas menu had no vegetarian meals!! Three of us don't eat meat, so reluctantly had to choose scampi to eat - come on guys it's 2019! Everyone else enjoyed their meals though, they were served hot and quickly!

Husband and I met friends for a meal here. Pub itself ok..However my food wasn’t great. Ordered steak with chips & salad garnish. Food arrived on a cold plate..which is ok if you have salad, but steak went cold pretty quick. Chips came in a separate bowl which was cold! Sent that back...salad was awful, had pasta in it which doesn’t go with chips. Surely the salad should be in a bowl not the chips! I noticed someone else’s plates collected with a full salad - not eaten either. Def not worth £15! My friends thought their meals were ok. Apple and blackberry crumble had barely any crumble. I did mention to the waiter that pasta salad isn’t great with steak and chips!

It's not usual for me to leave poor feedback but I'm finding it hard to forget how the last night of an otherwise perfect few day's first visit to the area was spoilt by dining at The White Hart. Although their website clearly states that meals are served from 6:00 Tuesdays to Saturdays we were told on arrival at 6:20 "Yes you can eat but it won't be in the dining room as it doesn't open until 7:00". We found ourselves to be the sole occupants of a dreary room with a very draughty door to the car park and door to the gents toilets. The longer we waited the more we wished we'd gone elsewhere. We didn't enjoy our meal as we just wanted to leave. No-one checked to see if all was okay or whether we wanted dessert and/or drinks. Perhaps we'd caught them on a bad night but it seems to us that they either need to change their website or their attitude to early diners. We hope to return to the area soon - but it won't be to The White Hart.

Myself and a friend stopped here as the midway point on a birthday (his) bike ride to refuel - I think the lycra look caused a few chuckles! Excellent beer - Adnam's Best - and we decided on bacon & egg butties (£3.95) with onion rings (£1.75) and sat outside in the sun. I'm not sure what I was expecting but a soft bap with two (three?) thick sliced smoked bacon and two fried eggs exceeded my expectations. Absolutely delicious! And great value for money - if the baps had been from a local baker that would have made them amazing. And talking of value for money - the onion rings! I didn't count them but there was loads and certainly not the 3 or 4 you might usual get.On a different note the front door to the pub is hinged in the middle to help with the barrels being brought in - as told to me by whom I guess was a local and who kindly helped with the door when I had the drinks and menu. thank you sir!I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. This pub was recommended as honest pub food , which I usually love. I would say this is very much a locals pub and we felt welcomed and met by some lovely furry friends in the bar. The bar man was hard to interact with when trying to order food . We plumped for Rib eye steak and Battered Fish and chips and mushy peas oh and onion rings. We were called in to eat, food came out with a side salad over some wet soggy pasta and cheese ,plus chips which looked they had barely seen the heat of the fryer. No sign of mushy peas or onion ring , 5 mins after meal arrived peas turned up nuked to being able to stand a spoon up in them ! and the onion rings were forgotten but brought halfway throu the meal ( wish they hadn't ~so greasy) . My £13.95 rib eye steak was that chewy and had been tenderised, this I know as I could stretch it out and see where it had been attacked from all angles . We didn't stay for pudding ~ we complained got half our money back with no quibble and apologies from a lovely young girl who looked so embarrassed to even come over to see if we were enjoying the meal or not. needless to say we will not be returning.

A good menu but lacking in vegetarian options. The food was nice enough but did not reflect the expense; the prices suggested a very high standard and I'm afraid to say these were not met. As an experience however, it was pleasant enough. The lady serving behind the bar was extremely friendly and delivered excellent customer service, as did the waitress. Whilst waiting for our food a very unkempt looking chef walked past with a bag of frozen chips over his shoulder, 5 minutes later they were on our plate, hard, (practically still frozen) and accompanied by an undercooked piece of place in soggy batter. My husband said his burger was also undercooked and almost inedible. Paid a visit to the ladies while I was there, neither cubicle would lock and they were rather smelly. We have visited twice during the past year. My husband had previously attended a wake here and said the food was excellent. On our first visit I almost left on seeing the tatty furnishings but was glad we stayed since the main courses were excellent. We've never had beer battered plaice of such quality, delivered fresh each week. My liver and onions exceptional. Best pub food we've had out for a long time. Banoffee pie not exceptional, base stodgy, haven't tried other puddings as were so full from mains. It's a shame about the tatty soft furnishings as it would make one think twice about taking guests, I think they must lose much trade because of this. Definitely one of the best home cooked meals in the Stratford-upon-avon area, and have been to many. Plenty of home cooked meals on the specials board at reasonable prices. Quality of food excellent. Staff polite and meal arrived very promptly. They deserve to be packed, surely it would pay them to refurbish. Worth a visit.

When we turned up we found out that a wake was being held in the pub, and we were the only people in the place that weren't attending the wake. They had laid our christmas meal table (complete with Christmas crackers) right in the middle of the bar area, and we were (understandably) met with a lot of strange looks from the people attending the wake. We decided that it was totally inappropriate for us to celebrate christmas whilst people were mourning the loss of a friend and relative, and left in search of somewhere else to eat. The problem wasn't that the wake was being held there, but that the management had failed to contact us (despite us having given a contact number at the time of booking) to give us the opportunity to make other arrangements. Despite having had good meals at the white hart in the past, we won't ever being going there again.

It was the staff Christmas meal for the managers and volunteers at the Red Cross charity shop, Shipston. We had all pre-ordered. I enjoyed deep fried Brie with cranberry sauce for starter, followed by a very generous turkey dinner with lots of fresh vegetables. The pudding was the delectable Wicked White Chocolate Truffle Torte with whipped cream .... Everything was served hot (not the dessert!) promptly and cheerfully. I will be back, again and again!

After walking all day long, my husband and I walked a good mile to reach this pub for our evening meal(as the pub on our doorstep was horrible.} What a difference!! Served at bar as soon as we walked in. Good choice of food, tasty and served by friendly staff. We were even given a lift home by one member of staff after they heard we were planning to walk a long distance in the dark. We would use this pub again if we were in the area! Thank you!

We were taken to this pub as part of a tour. We were given a set menu to choose from which I later realised was completely different to the pub's actual menu. We were charged thirty euros for two soft drinks and a plate which had two tablespoon servings of frozen vegetables, a small piece of boiled chicken and literally three quarters of a potato. I'm sure that this isn't acceptable in any country with a reputation for having good food. I was extremely disappointed and felt extremely insulted at the way that tourists are continuously ripped off when they go abroad. We are tourists, not idiots.

Visited for lunch with a friend on recommendation, sadly the place needed a clean and tidy up food was average pub food and the prawns that we were served for starters were raw. The placemats and menus were covered in food from previous customers. Wine was good. We left after the starter and won't be returning.

My wife and I had spent a lovely weekend in the Cotswolds and were on our way home travelling along the fosse way, we decided to find somewhere to stop for Sunday lunch and happened upon the White Hart at Newbold on Stour. The inn was bustling with customers having a meal or just enjoying a drink at the bar. We sat down and ordered a traditional Sunday roast which we followed with blackberry and apple crumble and custard.we were seated near an open fire which added to the occassion. The food was lovely and the staff friendly but not intrusive, just how we wanted our Sunday lunch to be, a perfect end to a lovely weekend. my thanks to all the staff. If you are ever in this area do give this Inn a try you will like it.

We always call here en route home from Stratford-upon-Avon and are always pleased with the welcome, the delicious food and the reasonable prices. It is a place where locals drink at the bar and lunches are served in the bar or in a separate dining room. 2 Course menu available and everything is locally sourced and freshly cooked. We are so lucky this is nearby!

We often visit this pub as it is always consistent with both quality & quantity of food. Good variety of choices & excellent portion sizes. All homemade cooking even the chef's wife makes all the desserts. Plus the prices are quite reasonable in today's world!

This is a few miles south of Stratford-Upon-Avon. It is a great place with plenty of atmosphere. Expensive food, but the quality makes up for it. To be recommended.
