Rooster Chinese Takeaway in Stratford-on-Avon

Took a punt and tried as Chinese takeaways are more miss than hit. This was great, for me, I was thinking loads of fresh veg along with the meat which makes it a winner. Not all gloopy and beige like many are. Will defo use again.

Excellent Chinese - best in the area. Friendly staff and helpful advice when ordering. Highly recommend the chilli and salt chicken pieces - salty, spicy and crispy chicken - the best I’ve had!! The sweet and sour chicken batter balls are the real deal too - super tender chicken with super crispy batter. Great chilli and salt spare ribs (there’s a theme here….) If you like spicy Chinese dishes this is the place - their regular dishes are top drawer too. Big portions an quality takeout food. Fantastic - go try.

Second chinese I have tried in Alcester. Better rated on trip advisor but I would say as good as other choice. Friendly person on counter. They do take cards whereas other doesn't. Make life easier. Good menu. Ready when they said it would be. Portion size good.

We’re a group of 7 and every single one of us absolutely loved our food! Really recommend this place, we could pick up within 20 minutes and very well priced! 2 vegans, 5 meat eaters and there was great options for everyone!!

Really impressed with the yuk sung and dry ribs. Also had special curry and fried rice. Definitely recommend and would come back again

Had yet another great takeaway from the Rooster, and frankly wouldn’t change. We travel 9 miles to get it and have been doing so ever since we moved here in 2004. Never had a bad meal yet. Tried a couple of others from Worcester to Evesham and nothing compares.

We have tried dishes from pretty much every section of the extensive menu and have never been disappointed. Particularly like the Thai sweet chilli king prawn. Always with free prawn crackers. Very friendly owners and kitchen staff. A weekend treat! Would highly recommend. :-)

First time we have had a take away from Rooster Chinese, really excellent food light fresh and full of flavour.

Have always had a quick and easy service from the Rooster. They have also changed some to my wish to have sweet and sour chicken non crispy. Full of flavour.

Recently visited with my family. Ordered quite a few dishes and was very happy with service. Shame they don’t deliver at the moment but worth the trip. Given a time to collect and felt COVID safe as it was a quick transaction and I paid contactless. Always love their chicken fried rice and curry sauce

My husband, some friends and I had a really fantastic takeaway from here recently. The food was full of flavour and we enjoyed the variety of options. We will definitely make the trip again for an evening’s meal

Always eat here if I can. I find their food to be just how I like it, and very consistent. They now take card payments which is very convenient.

Rooster is by far my favourite Chinese takeaway! The food is always excellent quality, extremely tasty and always hot. I have tried lots of different dishes and they have all been top quality. My personal favourites are pork in black bean sauce, chicken fried rice and salt and chilli chicken wings. The staff are lovely and always a pleasure to speak to. Its great to have a local Chinese in Alcester serving great food and offer easy card payment. Keep up the great food and service! :)

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered to my hotel on the outskirts of town, and despite it being a Friday evening it was there in twenty minutes. Good quality food, and good sized portions, but note that they are cash only and don't take credit cards. One other point is that in most Chinese takeaways pancake/spring rolls come in portions of two, but here they are priced as "each", but they are enormous and at least the size of two you'd get anywhere else!

We have ordered several takeaways from this establishment and they have all been great quality! I’m baffled by some of the negative reviews, I’d advise just ignoring those. Would definitely recommend.

After very stressful day my partner and I decided to treat our selfs to cheer up but never in my life have I had food so bad we ask for no veg in chow main and it was still in there we also found a bone that my partner could have chocked on or swallowed and died the curry was more than 50% just swimming in oil a hair in the chicken and the way I was spoken to by the owner her self so rude told me why didn’t I cook for myself they’ve been doing it for 20 year and no complains that’s not my fault paid £40 for our food and didn’t even get half back I’m utterly disgusting

Newly moved to Alcester, this was the first time we has used this Chinese takeaway. We went for our 'benchmark' dishes and were not disappointed with the quantity and quality of the food. Will definitely order from here again. I can recommend the aromatic crispy duck, salt and chilli chicken wings, chicken with cashew nuts, szechuan chicken, Singapore chow mein and egg fried rice. Free prawn crackers came with the meal too.

Excellent quality takeaway, the food is so fresh and innovative and it's the best Special Chow Mein and Chilli and Salt Spare Ribs we've ever eaten!

What an utter waste of good money. Three courses each and the recycling bin had the most. Chicken Yuk Sung - 90% vegetable. The whole lot just - yuk!

We recommend this poac to everyone but our last time we as a bit disappointing!!! Please don’t let us down we’ve recommended you to too many people !!

Looked on line for a Chinese take away rooster came up as good .chips were burnt curry was so bad had to chuck away and shredded beef was rank never again waste of money 🤮

Overcooked rather than crispy duck, chewy ribs. Shame- must have picked a bad day as this place is usually good.

We often have a takeaway and the food is always good. Good delivery service as well. Could do with a sit down in the town as well.

I have carry out's regularly. Love the Young Chow Fried rice and Pancake rolls.. My Son is fond of the Chow Mein's.

This is purely a takeaway restaurant. One couple ahead of me that were waiting for their food, which was hardly any wait at all. The front of house was clean, neat and tidy. Two leather sofas and two ordinary but comfortable dining chairs for those not wanting to stand and wait for their food. My order was taken quickly and it was cooked fresh. I waited approx 5-7 minutes for my food, which was plain white rice and sweet and sour pork. A simple meal that did not spoil by the time I got home. I notice that the plastic lidded containers were clean when I took them out of the bag. I put both containers in the microwave for a 30 second blast on full power to perk them up and it didn't spoil the flavour or texture of my much wanted meal. I took a menu away and note that English dishes are also available, steak, roast chicken and 6 different types of omelette.
