My partner and I we had a lovely Indian balti and a lovely starter, we couldn't eat it all so we had the rest to go. The staff were lovely and the food to die for, a little expensive but worth it. At the end of the meal I had a lasi drink yoghurt milk and ice salt to temper the heat. On receiving the bill all was good except the price of the lasi £4 milk yoghurt and water come on that's a ripoff. We will go again but no more lasi.

Just had a take away from said restaurant. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the driver that was doing the delivery swearing on the phone that we had given him the the wrong postcode!!! Food was cold and inedible!!! Never again! Avoid at all costs. The Spice Room is always a much better option, polite, courteous and food that is by far the best. Romna you really have gone down hill. Such a shame. Avoid at all costs!

So we ordered on line, this may be a just-eat issue but I ordered at 6.05, planned delivery was 7.20, we live 3 miles from the restaurant. Ok fine, called at 7.45 to say it hadn’t arrived; was told they were very busy and the driver had left (I know I got a text at 7.10 to tell me this). Food arrived at 7.55 most of it cold. The following I found disappointing: Two of the four Nan breads we ordered were plain when we ordered a cheese and a garlic. Those two naan breads were burnt to a crisp and inedible in places. The starter which was the mixed was disappointingly small, onion bahji in particular. We were missing a pilau rice. I ordered the garlic chicken chilli tikka Marsala which was a chicken tikka Marsala with lots RAW thick cut garlic slices and large chilli slices which made this one inedible. I would have waited even longer if it had been a) my correct order and b) edible. One star is being generous! Never, ever again!

Ate here this week, and had a very good meal - tasty, well prepared and plentiful. Sadly though, We did not feel as safe as in many other restaurants. Yes, there was hand sanitiser at the door, but the bottle was almost empty. This did not inspire confidence. While the waiting staff were careful to distance the, selves, we could not see that the menus were being sanitised in between customers. I hope they were. It is so important that everyone is given the confidence to eat out safely, especial Y as the food here is very good.

Over the lock down period, we have ordered for our family of 7 adults on Two occasions, to a value of £90.00. On both occasions they have got the order wrong, and food arrives cold and lack of it for the money. On the first occasion they ended up delivering the missing meal again which was fine, but meant that One person ate by themselves. On the other occasion after complaining, we eventually spoke to someone claiming to be the manager, who stated that we had swore at an assistant over the telephone, (Totally fabricated), she was very rude, and had a severe lack of customer service, claiming that they were doing there best in the current situation, blaming (Covid-19) for the mistakes, and also that the food arrived with us barely warm was that we lived too far away. (They did not even attempt to keep the food warm, as it was in a normal plastic carry bag, what a disgrace, and obviously does not care about what there customers feel, will not be using this place again, and would suggest you take heed before ordering

We had not been to Romna for a while as we had had several experiences of disappointing dishes, so when we saw it was under new management we popped in for a meal. The new decor was very pleasant and the food was delicious. However the only fly in the ointment was the service. What really annoys me is being rushed. Asking for your orders as soon as you have taken your coat off, the main arrives 30 seconds after the starter, the dessert menu is presented 10 seconds after clearing the main and the bill is bought to you immediately you have finished your dessert (and without request). I guess they are trying to turn the tables quickly (there were two floors of tables though), however after the initial rush there were many empty tables when diners had departed. So, after spending a not inconsiderable amount of money, we were only there for one hour and 15 minutes. Would have rated excellent rather than very good if it were not for this. We will definitely be returning though.

We dropped into Romna by chance on our way to another eatery. Romna is always a great place to eat and as we hadn’t been in a while we thought we would try it out. It had a family run business feel to it, service was pleasant and staff were attentive. The food quality and flavours were excellent and portion sizes were perfect. Prices are a little above your average Balti house but well worth the little extra. Taking your own alcoholic drinks from the supermarket next door makes the bill feel even better value. If you get the chance try Romna you won’t be disappointed.

if I could give no stars I would. After years of coming here I was looking forward to a good curry with friends. Poppadoms stale, asked for them to be changed and they just put them back in the oven to be warmed up as they came back burnt around the edges. The mains, we ordered chicken korma and chicken tikka masala. At £9.95 a meal I expect more than 5 small pieces of chicken which arrived in what can be described as a dog bowl. Chicken tikka sauce was flavourless. Chicken was chewy and under cooked. When we complained front of house staff said it was a new chef and his first day. Not good enough. We asked to see the manager and he offered just 10% off! No apology given. Will not be going back again and warn all regular customers who have not tried Romna under new management to stay away. I look forward to spending the night on the toilet.

Such a shame because the food was excellent and one of the best Baltic I’ve ever had. Think this place has had new owners for a while. We’ve noticed the last few times the food quality hasn’t been as good, takeaways are a long wait and slowly the restaurant has had less and less people in it. We’ve kept giving second chances though as this has been our go to curry house for years but a Friday night meal was the last time. I am just hoping that the same quality of food is served in my local restaurants. Well done Romna!

Simple and unpretentious surroundings and a good selection of curries. The usual suspects are here, from a korma to a madras, plus some unusual but tasty chef's specials, often combining several different creatures in one dish. The Bob Special can be found nowhere else on earth, and if there's any justice this will one day be to Alcester what the Parmo is to Middlesborough. I particularly like the naan breads - try the keema or the garlic. This is one of those bring-yer-own-booze places that are quite common round here but something of a freak-out if you've just moved up from Surrey. Fortunately the Waitrose next door has gallons of alcohol available at very reasonable prices.

Came here with our Tastecard which they accepted without issue. The restaurant is next to the entrance to Waitrose (don't follow your sat nav). We were seated quickly and the food quickly delivered. We didn't realise it beforehand, but they don't serve alcohol here. Other diners brought wine with them. We ordered some coke instead and it came from 2 litre bottles of Pepsi which had been open for a while and were flat (and at £1.50 a glass you'd not expect this). We order a few meals which were nicely cooked, however, mild means no chilli at all, and even the medium had no heat whatsoever. Prawn dish was also rather fishy tasting and the ingredients had not combined with the prawns. Prices weren't bad but I felt rather letter down with eating here. Didn't enjoy it as much as I'd expected.

My husband ordered a takeaway from Romna to celebrate my birthday. The delivery (less than quarter of a mile away) took nearly an hour (which we were told about when we ordered - but still an awful long time for a Thursday evening). The food finally arrived but they seemed to get the price to over a pound higher than us! They've obviously updated the menu but not updated their online menu. They refused to compromise on this even though if it's there in writing they should have honoured it! We had difficulty even opening the currys as they had leaked everywhere (probably due to the fact they were more like a liquid than a food). The bag also included a small bag of onion and a mint sauce but no poppadoms!Once we sat down to eat the curry it was stone cold and the bhuna was literally like a soup with 4 pieces of inedible chicken in there. There were no chunks of tomator or onion that we usually get when we eat in and after trying to chew the second piece of chicken it went in the bin. At just under £20 for 2 takeaway meals we were really upset. We use Romna a lot but we certainly won't be going again. If your takeaway business is an after-thought then stop doing it and stop ripping people off!

Visited Romna last night, and whilst the main courses were tasty, the poppadums tasted rancid and the sauces to go with it were tastekess, especially the yoghurt one which was white and tasted like flour paste. The chopped onions did not look fresh. The main grievance was with the service. The waiters made no attempt to be friendly or attentive. The cutlery for the main course was virtually thrown in front of each member of the party, and one waiter was sullen to the point of rudeness. When we left there was mo goodbye, thank you or even a smile.

Restaurant had terrible service so tried a takeaway - mediocre, salty food with little flavour so different from the lovely food we've had before, definitely won't bother again, such a shame. I had to put 1 star as it won't let me not put any.

We went had a take away from this curry house, the food was very good. they do deliver within a certain distance, we were a mile over and had to pick it up.The food was very good and worth the money. If you do have time to go and seat down in the restaurant, you will not be disappointed, friendly staff and great food.we will go again for some great food..

Whenever we are in Alcester (two to three times a year) we visit here. Nice feel about the place, some great curries that are very different from our own local curry house. the Bangladeshi options are really excellent. If I was being really picky I would rather the curries be brought out in their dishes rather than already put on your plate - purely because we like to share the dishes & taste some of each. Bring your own alcohol as no license.

We walked through the door looking forward to our meal but had an immediate damper put on our visit by an ignorant and miserable waiter he treated us as though we were an imposition. He certainly isn't doing Romna any favours. The food was very good but I doubt we will visit this restaurant again.PITY!!

Been going here for about 20 years!Still delicious food.Lovely ambiance.Mish and Shaz are fantastic! (They own/run/work the little restaurant with family and friends)Surroundings are nothing special, a small unit in a car park next to Waitrose......but forget that and go for good honest food and friendly service.Prices are fair. But being unlicensed is great as you can take your own drink, which cuts down on the cost of other restaurants. They also do takeaway and can deliver.....very good too.We like to go frequently, time depending.....always receive a warm welcome.

Instead of visiting the usual Indian restaurants in and around Stratford-upon-Avon we decided to venture out a bit further following a recommendation. Had trouble locating it at night as the signage had no lighting on it outside (it is directly attached to the supermarket to its side). The two main meals (Dupiaza & Jalfrezi) were very disappointing. Essential they were the same apart from the latter 'being spiced' up. Jalfrezi should have some peppers added to give it extra natural colour too but sadly they were missing. They both just didn't taste freshly cooked and as though chicken was just added. The peshwari nan was uninspiring and had colouring added. Since when is almond in a peshwari bright pink. As you walk onto the gallery upstairs dining area you pass to the side of boxes and cleaning materials to the tables. Not very enticing. There was no attention to detail and this included the toilets. Needless to say we will not be visiting again. Cannot recommend.

We had a table booked 18th October for 12. When we arrived the previous party of people were still on the table eating and drinking, we were very rudely "told" to go and stand outside. Obviously we left and went to another local Indian restaurant, Cardamon, where they catered for us at such last minute and also with a friendly welcome. We have not been to the Romna for a very long time and will never return due to their rudeness.

Actually went twice last week! Thursday for my grandsons birthday - 5 of us and then again on Friday with friends - 10 of us. Both great experiences! I had Romna starter for two on Thursday as my main course as knew I would be having curry on Friday night. Poppadums to start and service was quick - perfect when there is a hungry 9 year old. Chicken tikka biryani on Friday night. We waited longer but the food was excellent and such good value for money. Take your own alcohol which you can get from Waitrose next door. They always make you feel welcome and also remember if you have special requests when you order.

Went with a mate over the weekend and after parking in the local supermarket car park (very convenient) we found the place again conveniently next to the supermarket and adjacent to a chippy, score ! anyway to the review. Its not a big place on the ground floor, they do have a upstairs but I did not go up so I cannot comment. The downstairs was nice and clean and the place quickly filled up with what looked like regulars. The service was ok with not allot of interaction with the waiter(s) and overall the meal came in a reasonable time frame. The food itself was nothing really to write home about. Good tandoori chicken starter in that it was not red (colouring wise ) and seemed to have been cooked naturally and I have to say just great tandoori nan, perfect in fact ! The real disappointment for me was the vindaloo curry that I ordered in that whilst hot in the sense that there was chili in it there was no depth of heat or flavour of the spices used. Overall all the dishes I tasted (mine and my mates) the chef seemed to have skipped on putting enough spices into the dishes to make any of them memorable. Not bland but certainly not as expected. This is not a restaurant that I will be coming back to.

The restaurant was smart, clean and well set out. As a curry fan I was impressed, the food was fresh and well presented. The staff were helpful and polite. As they are not licensed you can take your own alcohol and Waitrose is right next door if you forget. Overall a good experience, and no after effects :-)

This is our local restaurant, so popped in after returning from holiday this week. The staff are friendly & very willing to explain about individual dishes or to adapt dishes to your preference. The food is of a consistently high standard & very popular with locals & many of our visitors. You need to take your own drinks. My only criticism is that the wooden chairs are a little hard. They also do a delivery service which is very efficient & food always hot.

We have eaten at Romna 2 many, many times. It's always good in every aspect - quality of food, service and excellent value. It really helps that customer's take their own alcoholic drinks - and if you forget there is a Waitrose next door…..

The curries taste great but they're pretty oily. The food has great flavour so full-marks from me for Food. Shame they don't do the red onion sauce which is my absolute fav. Cheers guys for many nice dinners.

Very welcoming and personable staff. We shared spinach and chickpea puri with a paneer tikka - both really good. Followed by aloo gobi, vegetable balti, pulao rice and naan bread. All really tasty and nicely prepared and served. One last thing, great value for money!
