The Arrow Mill Hotel in Stratford-on-Avon

This was the perfect celebratory family lunch. Lovely food, good service and a relaxing and attractive atmosphere.

As good a place as any to wait for an Uber to a different pub. Arrived to this half-empty “dog-friendly” pub and told they could only have us in the garden. Staff that spoke with us were unfriendly and unhelpful, couldn’t care less if it was cold, about to rain and getting dark, or that there were plenty of empty tables. Would not recommend trying your luck with a walk in here.

Don't know about the rooms but food, atmosphere and staff are brill

Staff is so friendly and food so delicious! Tip top clean, service on timely manner, food came to the table not long after ordering same as the drinks! We were often asked if everything was fine or if we needed anything else. Over the moon with the amounts of food as well! Our favourite Sunday roast, we look forward to come back with the family as often as we can, we already recommend you to all our friends!

Today we celebrated a 30th birthday at Arrow Mill and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out! From start to finish, the team made the entire process seamless, helping us arrange the perfect setting at this fantastic venue. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with attention to every little detail that made the celebration feel extra special. The food was outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group, ensuring that everyone felt taken care of. Thanks to Sian & the team, it was a memorable night that exceeded our expectations, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. Huge thanks to the team for making it such an unforgettable night!

Only went for an evening meal. Excellent venue, very attractive inside and out. Food was super quality and plentiful. Good Gluten free range for me which is a rarely found in eating establishments. Prices were also good. Staff were very efficient and kind. Great range of beers, cocktails and spirits.My only gripe is that dogs should not be allowed anywhere in restaurants because of the smell and noise they create and that the vast majority of dog owners haven't bothered to train their dogs. I understand that venue owners want to attract dogs owners so they do have separate area for dog owners to eat which is a good idea. I say, leave your stinky, noisy dogs at home. All in all its a fab place to eat, drink or have a party. Even though its a two hour drive I would definitely return.

Went for Sunday lunch on 15th Sept. Very disappointed had our order taken were served our drinks then had to Waite for 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Then we were going to have a dessert but nobody came to take order so we paid bill, no tip and left.

I have only ever visited to dine but it’s always been exceptional. Plenty of parking and grounds for outdoor dining and drinking. Inside there are plenty of dining areas and a large bar with a variety of drinks

We had an excellent meal and would highly recommend Arrow Mill. The bar area is perfect for pre drinks if eating and the overall setting is lovely. Staff were very friendly and we had a really lovely evening.

Bad service frozen roast potatoes no pigs in blankets when they found sum brought 4 out and their was 6 of us no cauliflower cheese this was Sunday at 6 o clock and the rest rooms where dirty won't be going back

Visited with group of 7 friends to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. Lovely setting. Very busy Friday evening. Friendly welcome from staff. Good service,and a good selection of food to choose from. Reasonably priced. We had as starters 2 soup, a Poached salmon caeser salad, a pate and a Pork belly bacon. Mains were Devon crab salad, Braised shoulder of Lamb, 2 x Ribeye steak, 2 x Pork and a Fish and chips. All very good, with 3 cheeseboard, Lemon tart and 2 Chocolate brownies, yum. An excellent night, would recommend.

Wonderful place with incredible service We had the most fantastic meal here today for Friday service. The food was delicious, the service was absolutely flawless with the friendliest and most helpful of all being the wonderful waitress Sian who made such a massive part of day so special!

Highly recommend this fab , lovely hotel. Gorgeous style and very comfortable.The staff were all very friendly and did everything they could could to make our stay wonderful. The afternoon tea was one of the best teas that we have ever had. The fruit scone the best ever! A nice comfortable bar area, set in a perfect location with beautiful grounds to sit outside in.

Wonderful meal and service from the extremely welcoming and engaged staff. We went along on 3rd June for an early evening meal with a friend and had absolutely exemplary service from the helpfully knowledgable staff who made recommendations and knew their menu. We had the roast chicken with fricassee summer vegetables and seared salmon with crab croquet. Amazing food, could not have been happier.

Absolutely first class in every way. We were very impressed by a lovely waitress called Ella who served us our food. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very polite. The food was delicious and my friends and I will most certainly be back. Wonderful all round.

A group of us met for Sunday lunch to celebrate a special wedding anniversary. The service was both professional and friendly, and the food was fantastic. Never had such a lovely Sunday lunch. The whole experience took eating out to a new level. Thank you to all the staff.

Treated to a Mother’s Day dinner by family only to be seated in what could only be described as the foyer. Every time someone came in we had an icy blast of air from the main door. One member of staff tried to sit us elsewhere, only to be told by the man serving us he would not move us. The radiators were off and it was not pleasant having every person who came to the restaurant walking by our table. An awful experience, so we left before eating as it’s not a cheap meal, so we would expect some comfort whilst eating it. Will not be going back for a very long time, if at all.

The range of gluten free food is amazing. Such a relief to be able to take my Mum who is coeliac and not have to worry. Thank you.

Slow, but cheerful service. Burnt Yorkshire puddings and small vegetable portions. Decor and ambience excellent.

Went for afternoon tea and was pointed to a table (wasn’t even seated I had to ask which table they’d like us to sit at) I wasn’t asked if I had any allergies if I’d like a drinks menu nothing. 15 mins later a afternoon tea was dumped on our table. No explanation I had to ask what they sandwich’s are as the man was walking away. (He didn’t know) 25 mins after finished still waiting to pay with a voucher. voucher taken and be told it would be checked. No one came back, no receipt & certainly no thank you. It was the worst experience. We left feeling so upset. It was meant to be a lovely Mother’s Day treat.

This is a really lovely hotel and restaurant The rooms were beautiful. Decor, furnishings highest class, bed very comfy, great bathroom. Really can't fault it. The bar was excellent. Great real ale offer, lots of seating The service in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was exceptional, served hot on a hot plate and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was good, my only issue was our two friends are vegetarian, and the choices on the menu were very limited and then what they were served was incredibly poor and was sent back. All in all a superb hotel. Will definitely return.

The cozy room I was offered was tastefully decorated and offered a sense of comfort and tranquility. The breakfast and dinner were excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great. Overall, my stay at this hotel was great.

On Mothering Sunday as a family of 7 we had a gorgeous Sunday Lunch experience. The restaurant was very busy but the staff were relaxed, we were not rushed in anyway. One of the tastiest Roast Dinners we have eaten, portions extremely generous ~ couldn’t manage a dessert as well as a starter! Well done to all the staff❤️❤️

Absolutely amazing place! Super gorgeous interior, amazing staff and the most gorgeous food! We had the upstairs function room for our mother's 70th birthday today and it couldn't have gone any better. The 2 staff members who looked after us all day were super helpful, couldn't do enough for us and we're super organised. She did so much for us in making the room look stunning with centre pieces and keeping the bar in the room topped up. All food was brought out piping hot and everyone got food at the same time. The food was one of the best I've had anywhere. Every person there today said how amazing the food was and such generous portions. They even set up the projector for us so we could display a video. They were so accommodating. The place itself is decorated so beautifully. Couldn't recommend enough! Xx

Had a lovely meal for my Sisters 60th Birthday. Food was excellent as always. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will be visiting again later on this year ❤️❤️

We recently had an event for 25 people in the upstairs dining room. The room was thoughtfully designed, with the addition of the beautiful view across the millpond and outside balcony area the whole experience completely exceeded our expectations. Sian was a wonderful hostess, welcoming, well organised and a great communicator. She was discreet and read the room meeting all our needs. The quality of the food was excellent, a fabulous selection of hot dishes that catered for everyone’s needs, we all had a hearty and tasty lunch. The bar was open providing an excellent choice of drinks. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the venue, food and wonderful staff.

Good food spoilt by poor service and poor attitude from the serving staff. Very disappointing and not the standard we had come to expect from visits we had made years ago.

We visit the pub a lot for drinks during the summer due to the beautiful location. We have only recently started using the Arrow Mill for dining too and have been really pleased with the quality of food and service. Prices are comparable with most local pubs and restaurants. There are plenty of food and drink choices. Bar service can be a little slow when the restaurants are full but it’s really not a problem. A little patience goes a long way. The staff are always very polite and attentive. Ambience and location make this pub and restaurant one of our family favourites. Also dog and child friendly ( we don’t have either it good to know)

An excellent evening at Arrow Mill for the Game & Wine dining event. Superb setting, 6 courses of inventive & beautifuly presented food all paired with some excellent wines. Service, some of the best my wife & I have had whilst out. Lovely setting, the general decor of the restaurant & bar areas are excellent & will certainly be returning soon.

Visited on the 27th December with my family (including 3 kids) and two dogs. Had only been there around 10-15 minutes (finally was served at the bar after a fairly long wait) and my young puppy had barked a few times, to which we had also taken her outside. I understand it can be annoying but we were managing it. We were about to order lunch when we were asked to leave as the staff had "had complaints"about our pup! We had not been there long, and we were not given any prior warning, just being told to leave? I am wondering if I had a screaming baby I would have been asked to leave too? We did not order lunch, nor any more drinks. I wrote an email last week to management, which has been ignored, so I can only presume that locals are not welcome, nor any tolerance to any noise! Absolutely awful customer care lack of tact, and lack of service. Will not be recommending.

Great place we love coming here for special occasions as its so local, its a real treat. Have been coming for years. Occasion was my birthday. It was clearly a very busy evening running up to christmas, but the service was very poor. We stood at the bar waiting to be served, like we were invisible, we don't mind waiting as we could see it was busy, but someone just needed to say 'hi there we will be with you shortly' and then to maybe say sorry for the wait. Poor table service, we had 3 different waiters, we had to ask to order the food, ask where the mains was as it took so long, then ask for the bills the end. We didn't bother ordering a dessert. You need to work on your level of service as reading reviews this has come up on several occasions. Maybe more staff training? Owner was pleasant and welcoming but maybe staff morale is low hence poor service? A good waiter is attentive and interacts with the customer to enhance the dining experience, we felt ignored most of the time, to the point we had to ask for service.

Went for Christmas dinner with friends. Service was great, but was disappointed with dinner and quantity. Roast potatoes were a bit overcooked and veggies that came with it were not sure what they were so left them. Good location and plenty of parking space. I would still recommend this place.

Lovely Pub, lovely food, lovely people and atmosphere

My husband and I have eaten here many times and always promised ourselves an overnight stay …wow…what a beautiful room and view to die for …great service , as always…fabulous food …even got a private sitting room for guests staying over…what a wonderful idea 👌. ..cannot find a single fault with the Arrow Mill …definitely be back. Great food and excellent service

I have visited this venue a couple of times for food & drink and I have to say the food is amazing, the dishes are very well presented and are absolutely delicious, refined and perfectly executed, you can tell the kitchen has chefs that love their job. You have a wide selection of food options to cater for anyone's pallet and the menus offer plenty for anyone that are Gluten Free, if you have any other allergies these are promptly relayed back to the kitchen. The restaurant staff are friendly, polite and attentive but the only slip up on my last visit was I had to ask to get cutlery for our dessert after it had arrived, but I wont knock a star off for this as the overall experience was fantastic.

Great staff and nice food. The place is beautiful, but the food is a little expensive for what you get. It wouldn't be somewhere I would personally go too often, as its not on my doorstep.

Lovely old mill property . Great atmosphere inside and conservatory area outside in the garden for warmer months. Food is good - something for everyone. This is situated close to Stratford on Avon.

We had an excellent lunch here today. Although we weren't there for a Christmas meal per se, the two course fixed price Christmas menu was fairly priced and well cooked. Service was relaxed but very friendly. The building itself is full of character, which the heavily modernised interior has managed to maintain. There were lots of Christmas decorations, perhaps too many, but they were tasteful and helped create a nice atmosphere on a dull, drizzly day.

Having read very mixed reviews we nervously booked to eat here for the first time as a table of four. Previous reviews had mentioned a lukewarm welcome and cold food so I took note of the warm welcome we received, a good start! Service wasn't hurried (another criticism from a recent review), we ordered drinks followed by a nice relaxing gap before our food orders were taken by a helpful, patient and friendly staff member. When the food arrived again I took note if it was warm, which it thankfully was, as was the plate, all good! Lunch was delicious, service was ideal, the setting is beautiful and the Christmas decorations are second to none. Maybe we were lucky, but everyone around us also seemed to be enjoying this lovely, stylish venue.

Unclear which entrance to use to book into the hotel and staff were not overly welcoming. Christmas decorations were very nice with a beautiful tree in the bar area. Dinner was OK but our room was fabulous. Everything you need, tastefully decorated and very cosy.

My husband decided to take me here for a surprise pre-birthday lunch and it didn't disappoint. The rooms were decorated beautifully for christmas, the food was excellent and staff were brilliant. The building itself is lovely and the surrounding area is quite picturesque. Will certainly visit here again.

Met with friend during a quiet lunch. Felt relatively hounded to order after being asked 4 times in the first few minutes if we were ready. This despite ordering our drinks and having to chase them up. Food was OK. Arancini was over and dry cannon balls. The steak sandwich is possibly the most over priced menu item I've bought this year. Desserts, we're OK. The sorbet was really sugary. 75 for 2, 2 drinks each. Was poor vfm imho. Beautiful setting however.

the Sunday roast on November 5th was nothing short of fantastic, today unfortunately I have to say that we were not at all satisfied..

We went to have a look at the decorations. We had a lovely warm welcome from staff. The hot chocolate we ordered was delicious as well as the camerbert. All staff were lovely and so polite. Thought it was lovely how the restaurant had games and colouring for the children.

Lovely location & interior's but we had two issue's. One, the service was slow in the restaurant & two the food whilst good was too expensive for what we had. Four of us had mains plus deserts, a bottle of wine & coffee's, £176!

My husband and daughters birthday beautiful place lovely good . Evening totally ruined by poor service in all areas staff not interested in giving us any form of service . We would have had another bottle of wine or more drinks maybe a dessert or coffee but ignored . No smiles or even asking if we needed anything else . We had to ask for the bill it was plonked down on the table and we had to wait at least another 15 mins until we asked if we could pay .

Food and service excellent. Booked for 7pm but several items on the menu were already unavailable, giving us a rather limited choice given that my husband has nut and shellfish allergies. Nevertheless, we had a very enjoyable evening.

Stunning building Excellent service Lovely food

We love this place for its setting all year round. I saw the social media ads showing the beautiful Xmas decorations which made me want to book immediately. Request for a table by the fire was dutifully honoured. After being seated, no one came to take a drinks order so my husband had to go to the bar. Again no one came to take our food order. Server seemed to be attending two other tables and walked past us several times to the point where I had to wave her down. Talk about feeling “invisible”!! We overheard the table next door saying it’s very slow today There appeared to be plenty of staff???

Firstly I’d like to start by saying:- What has happened to this lovely restaurant? As a regular user, both my partner and I decided to book a meal in your restaurant on the 16th of November 2023 at 6pm (18:00hrs) When we arrived we were greeted and shown to our table whereupon a lovely waitress came and introduced herself and also asked us if we’d like some drinks! We ordered our drinks and later ordered food. When the meals arrived they looked very appetising……. However…..Things went drastically downhill then, as we started to eat our food it was stone cold, I mentioned this to the waitress who very politely said she would get new meals made. The meals arrived within minutes however…… in our opinion they were the same meals just microwaved. We were told that they were fresh meals from this other waitress yet the fish was exactly the same shape (it was sort of curled and twisted as it was fried) this would be absolutely impossible to replicate twice. My meal (Burger) you could tell it had been microwaved the bap was hard and chips were Inedible as that were so hard. We are also regularly eat at The Roe Deer at Wordsley and The Physician at Edgebaston many times, and I’d like to add never had a problem. Again…. What has happened to this beautiful restaurant? It was a special occasion last night and we were both very disappointed and totally ruined the evening. I do hope you read these comments and look into what goes wrong and address it as necessary. Reading previous reviews it would appear a little hit and miss when you choose to eat here, today we stopped off for a spot of lunch, service was appealing, food was passable but not asked about allergies, cold chips, a £12 prawn cocktail with 5 tiny prawns and no sauce. Servers could tell we were not best pleased so decided to try and avoid us all together, I had to go and collect our drinks from the bar after waiting 20 minutes, just ridiculous!! Brunning & Price need to sort the management out in this place and start to train the staff a little better, we will not be going back…..EVER!

Very nice food. Bit slow on table service

To be honest the whole experience for Sunday lunch wasn’t terrible but I’ve ticked that box to get your attention. The Arrow Mill is my local and I’ve had lots of good experiences there. The staff are friendly and the food generally good but I made the mistake yesterday of booking a table in the bar area rather than the restaurant …. BIG MISTAKE! It was like lunching in the local dogs home. My parter is actually at his CD local surgery right now having a dog bite would checked out. An unprovoked attack by a snappy terrier when we took our seats. Needless to say we asked to be moved and the staff were supportive. If you don’t want Sunday lunch surrounded by canines my advice is avoid the bar. Anyway, is it too much to ask for areas serving food to be pet free?

We went to this lovely restaurant today for my partners 🎂 birthday and both had the delicious roast lunch sat at our favourite table. The food and service were brilliant as usual and we were looked after very well. Looking forward to our next meal there on Christmas Eve. Thankyou Arrow Mill.

Second visit - just as good as last time.

Great layout of room. Quality decor and fitments, clean, comfortable and cosy, yet spacious. Good range of appliances stocked with starter beverages and biscuits, the Viennese Whirls are very light and deliciously buttery.

Visited for the first time with my husband and a firend, to celebrate my husband's birthday. I had read reviews saying the staff were rude and unhelpful, so did wonder how it would be. However, everyone who served us was polite, efficient and very pleasant. The food was very enjoyable and the prices reasonable. The general ambiance of the place is delightful, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you - it was worth the drive to get there
