The Nags Head in Stratford-on-Avon

They charge you ‘service charge’ of 10% and i think it’s ridiculous service charge? For what and food is bland. I was waiting for my change from Lucy and never received it or got told there was a ridiculous service charge recommended to go for a spoons cheaper and better

Lovely food and service. We visited as a family of 12 and had a gorgeous lunch. The lady who served us was amazing and gave us lots of tips and recommendations for while we are staying in the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a delicious lunch and friendly atmosphere!

Over priced food not great beer was awful

I was treated to lunch here. The service was fast, staff polite and obliging, the surroundings were good, it was dressed all spooky for Halloween. The food was good value for money and delicious. Came out promptly. 10/10 would definitely go back

Just had Sunday roast it was excellent food amazing and service top notch defo recommend

I called in for a drink before dining elsewhere. I had a double Kraken and coke. Unfortunately the coke was flat, as it was poured from the large two litre bottles ( not a good sight to see) The bar itself was well laid out and the adjacent restaurant looked inviting as well.

Food was excellent and service spot on other than a few special not on but generally first class dining experience Lucy deserves special mention

Such a great place. We stumbled upon it purely by accident whilst on a weekend away. In our group there were 6 adults, 4 kids, 2 babies and a dog. We were fully welcomed and looked after. The garden is amazing and has a pizza oven and BBQ, which we fully took advantage of. We really had such a good time, thank you. Apologies again for the tray of beer my friend managed to spill all over the bar floor ☺️

Nice soup and warm bread - very tasty; although not much of it, as it was served in a cup rather than a bowl. The problem is the service which is terrible, so slow, the place only had a few people in it, we must have waited at least 45 minutes. The waitress was disinterested, didnt follow up and check the food was ok (which is a 100% must-do in hospitality) Cannot recommend

It was alright! I don't have any major complaints, the food was ok, nothing to write home about but good solid meals. We were in a bit of a rush to get to an appointment so I went up to pay at the bar to make it easier but this seemed to annoy the wait staff. They also missed something off our food order, were very polite about it said they'd not charge us for it...they did, we graciously paid it but just another small annoyance. It isn't somewhere I'd avoid but isn't somewhere I'd recommend either, if you need to pop in for something to eat it's a viable option.

What a gem of a place. We stopped here for lunch and were impressed by the food, staff and the place itself. It had a nice vibe and staff were helpful friendly and efficient. The food was really tasty. I would,d recommend a visit

Driving through this Beautiful little Town and came across this little gem! Food was really good, both of us had the fish and chips, and enjoyed every last bit! Staff were really nice, along with the Butty Batch Premium Ale, and the pint of Inch's cider. Nothing to complain about, and look forward to our next visit!!

We had not visited The Nags Head for a long time. We decided to stop for a quick drink, on our way home. It was very busy, with a good atmosphere. Very pleasant staff. Definitely worth a second visit.

Excellent food great staff well worth a visit

Good service, nice atmosphere but food was not up to scratch. Sandwiches were terrible. Kids food was overpriced for what it was and sub-average.

Arrived later in the evening midweek. Only a couple of other tables were occupied. Old looking with exposed beams , very much on par with the rest of the town. But it was pretty. It did not have a great rating before we arrived, and frankly it did not live up to that. Service was slow. The menu was quite limited. The food took quite a long time , arriving just after I said " The food is taking ages ". Perhaps they heard me. Now my main course was over £14. Two sausages mash and gravy. Don't get me wrong it was very nice. But another sausage for that price surely ? Nearly five pounds for a bottle of still water. Overall if it came a bit quicker and was a little cheaper we would be back. But for the above reasons we will not.

Restaurant was well lit and nicely decorated and warm. Service was acceptable but not great. My Cod dish was nice but we felt that my partner's sausage dish and his goat cheese appetizer were too small.

A little disappointing , booked for 4 for Sunday lunch for birthday & anniversary. Pictures on line not as in real life, everything fine except for the beef, looked to me as if it was pre sliced then griddled , I could be wrong . Only 2 thin slices did not look as if had been carved from a joint. Everything thing else perfectly acceptable.

I was about to walk through the door and one of your staff ran through like 2009 Usain Bolt. Not only that but while I was just over the road I saw another one sprinting outside the door. I don't want to see another one of your members running like this again.

Overall a very nice pub/restaurant. Food was good and staff very welcoming.

Came upon it by chance. How lucky were we? Sat outside in lovely weather, great food and speedy service. Will visit again if in the area.

Having passed through Henley in Arden on many many times we finally stopped and found this delightful pub/restaurant with a great food, extensive gardens and attentive staff. We only had a drink and tasty sandwich in the delightful shady gardens. Next time it will be a full meal from the extensive menu or the tempting specials board. Bon appetit.

Great place for lunch in the sunshine 🌞

We spent the weekend in a cabin on the outskirts of Henley and were excited to visit the nags head for dinner and a few drinks on the Sunday. However, we arrived at 6, as the website says that food is served until 7, and we were very disappointed to be told that the kitchen is only open until 6, but on that particular day because of the heat they closed at 5.30. Other than that it looks like a lovely pub.

Visited for first time this evening, food was amazing, more restaurant quality than pub food, beautifully presented, good quality and cooked well. Service was very good, lovely staff. Will certainly be back soon

Popped in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Big refurb means lots of new oitside seating as well as cozy seats inside. Worth a visit.

If you require Gluten Free then avoid like the plague. Very disappointed. There are (hopefully “were” by the time you read this) errors on the website menu. We wanted the GF pasta that was available on the web menu, but not at the table. We switched to the Halloumi burger that had a GF option available. When it arrived the burger bun looked amazing… so amazing that I asked if it actually was gluten free. NO! They hadn’t written down the order correctly, so it had to go back. When the meal reappeared it was no longer a burger at all. It had morphed into a Halloumi sandwich, between 2 bits of Warburton Tiger Bread. What!? For regular diners I’d rate it a 2.5 out of 5. For gluten free less than 1 out of 5. 1. If you quote an actual menu on your website then get it right. That’s just basic good practice. 2. Sort out proper GF options. Get some good quality dried GF pasta, which doesn’t require special storage, and if you quote GF options for burgers, get some proper GF buns. No one expects 2 bits of bread… come on! Just do better I think.

Not the best of days to visit weather-wise, but never the less, I will go back. Staff were tentative and welcoming. A very well set out large garden with various sections, dine outside, private dining pods and family friendly or just summer chill areas 👍🏽.

Only popped in for a quick drink on the way home. Great service, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go back and try the food.

Nice place, good food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Veg lasagne was the best I've ever had!

The staff and food were very good but what I couldn't understand was how we had to pay extra for the peas and extra for the scoop of ice cream for the dessert, we was lead to believe that they came with the food.

Outstanding all round, helpful attentive team looked after us throughout our visit. Food was superb! Pate was accompanied by a wonderful home-made onion jam. Steak was again tender and cooked perfectly.

Brilliant Sunday lunch of roast lamb and cauliflower cheese along with delicious veg. Just perfect highly recommend.

We dropped in for some lunch, I fancied a burger, my wife wanted to keep it light so just had a couple of starters including the soup of the day. The burger was really nice, there was an option to double up but I was trying to save space! We have been here a few times over the years, The foods always good and there's a great selection of beers!! it's a really nice pub and the back garden is huge and they have some amazing events on here. Sort of wish it was my local!!

My Wife and I had a smashing meal here last Friday evening. The food was delicious, plentiful and very reasonably priced. What impressed us most, however, was the attitude of the young ladies looking after us. They couldn't have been more attentive and between each course, they insisted we take our time, enjoy our drinks and conversation, then they'd serve the next course when we were ready for it. What a refreshing change from being rushed to finish and free up a table. So much to like, so many reasons to return. Thank you for a lovely evening.

The burger could use a bit of work, but the shrimp cocktail was truly one of the best I have had. Wonderful service.

Just had a really lovely evening here. Best lasagne I've had in years. Wonderful atmosphere, very dog friendly. Our waitress Pam, really made our night. Efficient, friendly, good sense of humour, and the birthday treat for my husband finished off his evening perfectly.

If your not a local do not bother, we attended the nags for a friend's birthday. First drink ok, second drink we ordered a soft drink as was driving, we were on our way to the garden to go back to our friends and thought as we are passing will pop to the loo, only to be stopped by the manageress asking us to leave our drinks in the bar while we go to the toilet. I never leave my drinks unattended anywhere. She then preceeded to go out side and tell a member of staff to keep a eye on us, we are three women in our mid 40s! As a manger I would be more concerned about all the young kids on your premises sniffing coke!!! And not 3 women who choose not to drink alcohol!

Went for lunch today as I had been a couple of weeks ago and had been telling everyone how good it was, and the chips & cheesy chips were the best ever!! Today did not disappoint. The open fire, brilliant atmosphere, fab food and the staff very friendly. Very dog friendly. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Called in for a drink, nice cosy bar area with real fire burning. Nice atmosphere with plenty of tables full eating on this Saturday lunchtime. They do live music every other Saturday evening and will return for a meal and drink or two.

I've been here twice now and both times we received great service from very polite staff and the food was fantastic. They are doggy friendly with doggy treats available too.

Had a great time today at The Nags Head. They had a food festival on. Great food and drinks at great prices. My wife and I were celebrating our 20 year anniversary and on our way to our hotel when we stumbled on this gem. Nice to see a great pub doing well. Place was busy. Also side note it was very clean and well presented. You should be very proud of yourselves.
