Stayed near here for a long weekend and went here on our last day. Gutted we did not find this gem on our first day. The pub was lovely. Homely English style pub nicely set out. We had Sunday lunch. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. They were very attentive. Friendly and chatty but did not overstay their welcome. We had a roast dinner which was delicious (cauliflower cheese was to die for and I don't usually like it but i could have licked the bowl out) - followed by 2 scrummy puds. All the food coming out looked wonderful. I would not describe it as pub grub. More upmarket. No complaints at all. I would definitely recommend a visit to eat or just drink . Hope we get the opportunity to do so again.

Place has definitely changed since my sisters' last visit when the original owners used to cook themselves. We had a table reserved for about 6.30pm, parking was no problem. We were shown to our table, menus given , drinks order taken, staff friendly & polite. We chose the belly pork, fish n'chips, lamb with greek salad. Portions were normal, prices acceptable , by about 8pm the place was pretty much full.

What a fabulous find and the most amazing Sunday lunch, the lady who headed up front of house was great as were the rest of the crew, about to move to the area and will certainly be back for more, I had the lamb and my partner had the chicken which were delicious, the lady manager brought us a slice of beef to sample, I can honestly say that it was the most tender and flavoursome beef I have ever tasted, highly recommended

Great food! This was a lunch stop on our Yorkshire to Devon journey and we’ll be back. Food quality was excellent with plenty to choose from for different tastes and appetites. The lunch deal was good. I had squid which was very tender and well cooked. The burger was delicious - in ciabatta with a good Smokey flavour and lots of fillings. Good local ales and a good range of others brews on tap. Plenty of different parts to sit in both in and out. Dogs allowed in the bar.

Christmas lunch food was disgusting, couldn’t eat any of it. Poor drinks service, waited over 40mins to order drinks, starters were inedible, beef of main course still had a pulse it was that raw, veg far too hard, couldn’t cut it, covered in sage. Cheese board was very disappointing, couldn’t even bite the crackers what ever they were made of. Mince pies we literally couldn’t cut or bite. The coffee was decent, the service was not up too much. Very disappointing. 100% avoid.

Late evening meal for two.The venue was quite busy with a nice comfortable atmosphere. Reminiscent olde world charm of a coaching inn was evident.Service from the kitchen was effective & efficient. Very high quality meals with sensible & stylish. The Chicken Milanese was a treat with subtle flavours that were both a surprise discovery & a pleasure to experience. Local produce is an effective asset for this kitchen. The menus is extensive so it will be difficult to be disappointed . It is also evident the waiting staff take pride in that they are attentive, knowledgeable around the menus & make patrons very welcome & feel at ease. No hesitation on my part for a future repeat visit.

A Sunday evening, not usually the best time for a meal out. But The Tavern at Broom bucked that generalisation. We both had the Sunday roast, and although I'm not a fan of meat based dishes even I had to admit that it was amazing... the beef was done to perfection and the blend of several types of vegetables enhanced it beautifully. Happy as we were with the main course, we decided to check out the dessert menu and were delighted to find that they served an eclectic selection of HOME MADE ice creams and sorbets. Including our favourite liquorice (with lemon meringue) flavour. An unlikely combination, possibly, but it worked. And all of this served by Lauren (friendly, informative, efficient) who made time to chat. At £50 for two, including drinks, dessert and a tip it was very reasonable value too.

This may have been an off day, but the awards, pictures and reviews had us expecting great things. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Menu reads well and lots of choice even for a Sunday lunch like we had today. Sadly the food was mediocre, not very warm, and quite bland. Maybe it was the 4pm time and being in between main service times, but the food felt like it had been sitting for some time. On a plus side the meat (I had the trio) was good, the potatoes and vegetables not so good. Great atmosphere in the main bar and looked to be a a well liked cosy village pub for a drink or two.

Unfortunately we were next to a table of six loud mouthed drunk people who were so loud that it destroyed the ambiance of the dinner for all other diners. Highly recommended Sunday roast! First timers here and we came on recommendation. It's obvious why! The pub was packed out and still they kept on coming. That did not stop service being a top priority. We didn't book, cos that's just how we roll, and despite the pub being packed out we asked if we could eat in the covered outside area, which was accommodated without issue. Despite apologies for the wait from the attentive, polite and well trained staff I wouldn't consider it a wait at all. The outside area was spaciously separated and would be cool enough in summer and despite a crazy downpour was plenty warm enough for us, with patio heaters available around the area should they be required. We will definitely be returning to sample some weekday lunchtime offerings and maybe a cheeky date night treat. Beautiful historic pub, just as we like them.

Grew up in the Alcester area and know many of the pubs well but a return to the Tavern was pretty disappointing. Menu is massively uninspiring (pizza, burger, F&C are the main fare) and going off-piste for the fish pie was also pretty bland and actually quite pricey (it was POA on the menu). Dessert choices were also less than exciting. The kids were the only takers and did not even manage to finish the summer fruit waffle which had been drowned in chocolate sauce. Irish Coffees were excellent and service was just fine Nothing was wrong as such but I think there is so much better elsewhere in the area. Really hope they will rethink the menu variety.

Locals scramble to the bar stools with no regard for anyone except the. Self. Not bothering to see there us anyone that may be more in need of a bar stool ( MS and other disabilitys ) If you have fun you are scorned upon for laughing or raising your spirits Dinners take priority over drinkers when the place is full ? But when its slow then its ok for them to take your money There are discounts randomly given to some drinkers and not others We have dined there with mixed reviews the place is really not good there is no consistency and its pot luck if you get a welcome or a rebuff.

The reviews and pictures of the food looked pretty good which is what bought us here in the first place. The intention was a nice meal to end our holiday away. Have to say it was a real disappointment, the food looked the part but really was bland. Me and my partner had the steak burger, the meat was fatty tasting, grey in colour and just bland almost like it had been boiled. My bacon was well done my partners was underdone. The chips were really soggy and no where near "triple cooked chips" my partner even left his chips due to some of them being raw. The fact we had the same dish yet there was so much inconsistenty is really poor. I know its pub food but for a quiet Thursday evening this really should of been better. Shame, will definitely not be returning or recommending.
