Lovely spa hotel. Best rooms have a sea view and was updated a few years ago, so all the primary colours are gone now, and they are very calming and beautiful. The sensory garden spa is so so nice. The spa is lovely and child-free as they have the run if pool. It's never been too busy, and early in the morning, you get the whole place to yourself. Very dog friendly, and they have all been very well behaved so far, and so much so that you wouldn't be aware that there were any in. Location is fantastic, I love the beach and the coastal paths.

Room what's supposed to be accessible No where to place toiletries near shower, 🚿 water came out as a trickle no pressure whatsoever grouting in shower tiles brown absolute disgusting.no seat near sink to brush teeth etc Room needs a revamp so does the shower room. I can't believe an accessible disabled room is on the first floor along an extremely long corridor turn left and another extremely long corridor I would not call it at all accessible it states on the left do not use in event of fire I use an electric scooter because of mobility issues this hotel is definitely not disabled friendly it needs to be looked at or rooms health and safety designed by a disabled person!!!!

My partner & I booked in for dinner as part of the hotels Swim & Dine package, and I had no idea what to expect. Walking in, the ambience in the restaurant is stunning, the lighting & music setting the mood wonderfully, the staff very friendly & kind. The service throughout the night was exceptional. But the food! The food was incredible. Presented with bread & dips as we sat (even GF freshly made bread for me, being a coeliac, that was a great touch), but what followed was a culinary sensation that delivered on flavour, presentation, quality & quantity. I assumed I'd still be hungry after with small plates, but the (excellent) waiter was right, there was no need to order sides as I would be full. The Cote de Boeuf was out of this world, and the pudding that followed, although small, was just the right amount to hit the sweet note & round off what was essentially, a perfect meal. I say perfect, because quite simply, my partner & I cleared all 4 plates, with pleasure. I will definitely return, even if it is 1hr 45mins from home, because it was THAT good!

Staying a the hotel for one night whilst down on business Hadn’t realised Zacrys had moved to where Emily Scott’s / Watchful Mary’s had been so thought Zacrys was closed (no one mentioned when checking in which I guess was a bit remiss) Anyway no biggy Ate at Living space instead Friendly service Nice glass of red wine- at 14 quid it needed to be :) I had the Laksa and added chicken Decent but at £26 with the chicken - so again, it needs to be good - I’d personally slice the pak Choi up - took a bit of eating

I wouldnt go here.. they are all miserable & you are better off going to a nicer independent business, we went here & it is extremely expensive for what it is & the food isnt even good, we was given a burnt hard toastie & the service is awful, all the staff are horrific, they need training in basic attitude if theyre facing customers all day!

This was my review a year ago and you asked me to give you another chance which I just did (May 2025): there is more crab in a crepe suzette than in your pasta, same goes with the lobster and monkfish burger… Good food however portions are getting smaller every year. You should not leave a restaurant hungry and with nobody saying: “thank you, looking forward to seeing you again”

We were on holiday in Mawgan Porth and chose Catch for our penultimate night there as a special treat - we thought given the menu and prices and that it always seems to be busy, it would be great. Unfortunately, it was a let-down. Firstly, we were told some of the dishes were not available, including the Lobster, which I had been considering. I opted for the "Market Fresh Catch of the Day", even though it was Hake, which is not an expensive fish and the dish was £26. I could not believe how small the piece of fish they served me was - it was almost hidden under a slice of lemon. I told the manager I wasn't happy and they took it off the bill (otherwise this would have been a 1-star review). But the fact that they serve it like that and think it's ok speaks volumes to me. FWIW my wife had the same dish and her piece was only slightly bigger. The rest of the family thought the food was ok but not amazing.

Been coming down to Wax from Leeds for over 20 years and as always this year it is still as great as ever! Great food (had the pizza to takeaway and was delicious) Great beer! Fantastic staff and a new manager (since we were here last September ) who was very friendly and welcoming to us and more importantly to our bulldog Humphrey 😊 obviously this is a very dog friendly place.

The catch of day was good. Fish fresh. The crab was fresh. Such a shame the linguine came late, due to missed order. It also had the same sauce as the peas in fish of day. Mint and crab in a seafood linguine was unexpected and not on a good way. Basics are good, needs better management.

The Merrymoor is our absolute favourite when we stay at Mawgan Porth and we dine here as often as we can. The Sunday carvery is excellent 5 star and their burgers are so tasty, especially the one with yarg cheese. Friendly and welcoming staff as well. Thanks all at Merrymoor from these very happy Moors.
