Great room, v busy spa - pick your moment - expansive breakfast and a good evening meal. Waiter - Jeremy? - was very good, knowledgeable, not fawning, and efficient. Parking seems a bit hectic with spaces seemingly taken by non residents going on a walk. Nice to have fresh milk in the fridge..it's the little things that often sets places apart...

Very impressive location, amazing room. We stayed in a large room with the best view overlooking the sea. Breakfast was lovely, so much good food we didn’t bother with the hot £6 upgrade. Coffee was good, lots of healthy choices - if you want a fry up there’s lots of cafe’s locally but that’s not the vibe here. The pool and spa facilities are first class, apologies to the spa staff member that thought I was dead in the pool - sometimes I like to just lie on my back and float. Talking of the staff, we thought they were all excellent and made us feel welcome and noticed, thanks to all of you. Our only gripe was the dinner, it didn’t match with the quality and standard of the hotel with its amazing location and fantastic staff. I had the duck which I couldn’t finish and my wife didn’t like any of the starters and made me finish them, which I didn’t enjoy very much either if I’m honest. Apologies to chef, this isn’t a dig, please think of it as constructive criticism. You’ve got an amazing venue with great people, up your game and everything will fall into place. Knocked off 2 stars only for the dinner we were very much looking forward to but left the restaurant disappointed.

Great place to relax and unwind. We try to go every year. Overlooks a fantastic beach and the local pub next to the beach is lovely

We've just returned from a night away here for our 10 year anniversary. A friendly, warm welcome by staff on arrival, bar staff were also attentive and welcoming. We loved how relaxed the hotel was, the dog friendly nature of the hotel, the food, spa and cocktails were great! There was also an extensive choice at breakfast. The short walk to the beach, although steep was a nice bonus. The hotel room was spotless, showers were lovely, bed very comfortable, homemade cookies in the room were also a nice touch. Beautiful view of the sea, from many areas in the hotel. Just wish we had booked to stay for longer! Highly recommended, looking forward to going back.

I think this was one of the best hotels in UK I‘ve ever stayed in. Cozy rooms, the best fish (&chips) ever eaten and a very big Spa without any additional price. The location is on a cliff with a stunning view and the coffee is also one of the best up there.

A 1 night stay in January. First time to bedruthan, as with other reviews, don't be put off by the exterior of the hotel, needs a refurb but the inside is excellently decorated. On arrival parking was an issue but there was eventually a space. Location - fantastic views across mawgan Porth, a great spot to watch the storms (January). The path down to the beach is handy and well signed but could do with some maintenance. Overgrown hedges, broken fences etc. Rooms - we stayed in a spacious sea view double. A huge room, very comfortable and quiet. Glass sliding doors (Juliet balcony style) which open to a fantastic view. There were signs of wear and tear, slight damage to mirror and a loose door handle in the bathroom but nothing major. It is important to note this is a very busy establishment. Food/drink - we ate in the wild cafe, superb sea bass special and burger recommended. Service very friendly, as were all staff across the hotel. Prices not overly expensive and all food and drink good/great quality. Breakfast was a higher end version of a standard continental breakfast, self service coffee etc. Spa/pool - for a Sunday in January, there really wasn't much room to move in the spa, I personally wonder how chaotic this could be in summer. However, all very clean, pool was much quieter than the spa and ample size. Again, staff very friendly although we were disappointed to find the hydro pool was closed with no in person explanation, an email was sent 2 days before our stay informing of this closure but no explanation. We live in Cornwall and would not hesitate to book another stay at bedruthan, having booked on an offer for a good price.

Before I write this fully, I appreciate I am at error. Booked this hotel for what I thought was last week, but I turned up at the hotel to find the hotel in darkness & a sign on the door saying it was closed. Upon a message back from the hotel they have noted I have booked the hotel for June - which was my error. They would not cancel the booking without charging me for it (30% of booking fee) for a booking almost 6 months in advance. Again - I realise it is the “terms” but all that it’s lead to is me never going to book this hotel in the future as a bit of goodwill goes a long way. Well it does in my current business. I travel a lot for business and due to new contracts will be in that area more frequently - and being a creature of habit once I find a good hotel I tend to stick with it. Stayed in the Fistral hotel & spa that night instead - would recommend that. On a side note the hotel looks nice in the pictures - but from the outside looks no better than a hospital.

Absolutely not a 4 star resort. First, my prior request for twin beds went unactioned until I checked in to the room and saw the bed was made up as a queen. Receptionist seemed quite unfriendly and dismissive although the porters seemed friendly and helpful. The room only has 2 x bedside lamps that cover the entire living space - I found it really uncomfortable with poor eyesight. No phone either in the room so I had to go to reception and ask for a lamp. Receptionist notes that "this is normal" LOL it isn't. We travel globally to at least 50 hotels in the past year. The room was furnished very very sparsely with what looked like 2 x Ikea childrens bedside tables (cheapest possible), two single beds (after they were "twinned"), a desk with one drawer (again looking like something from Ikea) and a chair. No floor standing lamp etc. Oh and one weird looking, lopsided poster hanging on the wall. For a "resort" there is, strangely, no map available, and very very minimal signs directing guests to the facilities. This hotel seems to cater to young parents with young children who want to put them into the childrens programs. As a mother with a teenage daughter, we can't use the childrens facilities, nor the adults (and apparently half the hotel is adults only despite the fact that the owners other hotel next door is fully adults only).

17 years ago we first visited to Bedruthan as young family. That visit was followed by two further visits with our kids and on all of those three collective occasions the experiences were all first class. This weekend would then be our fourth visit but this time as a couple as the kids had now fled the nest. So how did it compare? Well, the same as all the other visits I have to say, excellent!! Nothing had really changed from those memories of the past we all shared. The hotels design, the layout, furnishing and all those finer little details we all so love about those special places we stay in. The foods quality remained the same, excellent as always, as did the quality of service throughout the hotel. What makes Bedruthan stand out from all of the other hotels in this sector is that their standards have never changed and after 17 years they still provide those memorable experiences as they have done for our final visit. A big thank you to all the hotels staff.....

My husband and I have just returned from a two night Wind Down break. The entire experience was amazing - the hotel has a lovely, laid back vibe which is incredibly inviting from the moment you arrive. The staff are all really friendly with a real can do attitude. Our room was very clean and spacious, comfortable bed and good shower. The spa experience is fantastic - we enjoyed using all of the facilities and also visited the sensory garden which was very well done. Food was out of this world, especially important to a vegan and gluten intolerant couple. We will definitely be back!

Stylish hotel with comfy and contemporary interior. The sea view rooms have fantastic views, and are a really good size, with king size beds, a corner sofa and, in some, a coffee table and chairs. The bathrooms are a reasonable size with either twin monsoon showers or a shower and bath. The shower screens have a handy sensor-activated neon strip that helps find your way in the dark. I've also never had a shower with such a striking view before! The only things I think could be improved are for tissues and hand/body lotion to be provided and for the bathing products to be in larger refillable bottles, rather than the travel size that might encourage guests to take them away and result in plastic waste. We ate in Ogo for dinner and I honestly had the best main course of my life (Aberdeen Angus and mushrooms), it was superb. The cheese custard to begin was also a revelation and I could happily have eaten my own weight in it! Breakfast is varied and caters for all tastes. Cooked items do incur a £6 supplement but quite honestly, with the range of pastries, filled croissants that can be put in the panini press, assorted bread for toast, meat, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, and other items, I didn't feel the need for anything more. There's also an onsite bakery and we had some fantastic cake to take away. The spa is spacious and warm, with comfortable places to sit and relax with a book, or just to look at the view, both inside and out. There's water and tea available and it just has a really calming atmosphere that had me relaxing instantly. There's also an outdoor pool but that was far too cold for me to brave! Last and by no means least, all of the staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, a great stay and somewhere I highly recommend and will be visiting again soon.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. The room was clean and spacious. However, the bathroom had a strange layout where you couldn't open the door fully because the toilet was in the way! On sunny days, our room got very hot, and with the windows only opening a few inches, it was hard to cool it down even with a fan. The food was very hit or miss. Breakfast was great, but having to pay extra for cooked eggs seems ridiculous. On the day I did pay for the English breakfast, it seemed like it had been cooked the night before. We had a few dinners there – some were great, others not so much. The location high on the hill means you have to enjoy walking, as the hotel is set over numerous levels, and the beach is a steep walk away. We found the staff to be friendly, but not very knowledgeable, as nearly all of them were new and had not received much training. Even asking the most basic questions was often met with “not sure.” Overall, the experience was mixed. There are some positives, but there are also areas that need improvement.

The team here are amazing, and were great with both our kids. This was our second visit, and will be booking again. Amazing views and the soft play area was a great way to keep the children entertained when getting restless.

Have just returned from a 3 night stay with my husband and our 2 year old daughter. We decided to try Bedruthan as we have previously enjoyed stays at the Scarlet & Watergate Bay Hotel. I would not put Bedruthan in the same class as those hotels, however the price tells you a different story. We were really surprised to have to pay a supplement for a hot breakfast given the high price of the B&B rate. The continental breakfast including in the rate was good but unbelievable to have to pay more for eggs etc. As a family with a toddler we found it to be quite a pain to get to the beach. The walk down is a nightmare so we found it easier to drive down, but in the end we just drove to Watergate Bay each day as it is much more family friendly there. Food we found to be average. We ate in Mawgan Porth at the Catch restaurant and enjoyed 2 good meals there and a change of scenery. Our room was beautiful and very spacious however as others have said it was hot and loud at night. We won't be returning to Bedruthan again. It is very overpriced for the experience. We will most definitely return to Watergate Bay hotel on our next visit to Cornwall.

Brought my wife here for a night because it's her birthday. Arrived Saturday, the hotel is excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Spa, pools etc very good. Restaurant in the evening was very good, menu choice and meals really good, they brought out a plate saying happy birthday with fruit and truffles for her and a glass of bubbly, a nice touch which was appreciated. Room had a real wow factor, view is exceptional. Leaving after breakfast on Sunday, a little let down. £300 for one night and you have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. Disappointed to go with a negative feeling.

Another oversold hotel, that believes it’s better than you. Nice location but let down by the absolute minimum to get by with. Examples Your breakfast included will not include a full English as that is £6 extra. There so called Ogo dinner restaurant is a sham. Exorbitantly priced for the absolute minimum in service and food… although aparently “dog friendly”!!! They fill you up on artisan bread while stiffing during the meal. I had steak which was laughingly two postage stamp sized pieces! My advice is “Ogo by that restaurant”

It's my second time here as of Feb 2024, I was compelled to return with the family after the first visit in early 2023 The first visit was fantastic. excellent rooms, only lacking in a little storage space, amazing views, good food, friendly staff and a wonderful spa experience. The second visit was a polar opposite. Rude staff arguing with my wife about directions around the hotel, a broken bed (which was fixed), hot water that ran out consistently, room cleaning that never quite cleaned up or replenished the complimentary tea caddy, the food, bakery aside, has taken a down turn in quality or perhaps variety. The spa ran out of robes and the clientele were like very careless and disrespectful of the facilities on the whole. I believe they were short staffed in my most recent visit, but the strain is showing, there was no polish or pride. Little things like lack of attention to detail add up. At its worst, If it were not for the fantastic location, this hotel would not be worth visiting. Visit when it's quiet

Had a terrific meal here the other night, Char Siu Pork Belly - my friend had the brisket, which she also really enjoyed. The waitress was really helpful and displayed a good knowledge of the dishes available, and even went out of her way to bring us some extra veg. Felt it was great value given how good the food was.
