Restaurant: have to say I don’t post reviews very often but my wife, daughter and myself have just had a fantastic meal here in the restaurant at the St Moritz hotel. We come here every year and always have a great time. Last year we had a great meal in Cafe Rojano and the St Pedroc bistro in Padstow. We also had a terrific meal in the St Moritz hotel restaurant and it was definitely up there. So we are fussy about our food and like to spend a lot of money on food. The meal we just had in the restaurant in the St Moritz tonight was fab. I had a 3 course meal and each course was a delight and the whole meal was faultless. Not cheap but worth it and served by 3 wonderful young people. Highly recommended. I would put the quality as on a par with the meal we had in the St Pedroc last year and actually a more enjoyable meal overall.

It's really nice to discover something that you weren't really expecting. My wife and I booked for a romantic 'wild spa', Cowshed treatment and stay over at this local hotel as a belated valentines gift to each other. The wild spa, despite being outdoors and late February was a really good laugh. The staff; Victoria and her colleague were like personal butlers ensuring waters were hot enough, food was plentiful enough and even bringing us a glass of prosecco in the hot tub. Rooms were 'ok'; certainly clean and well very presentable but we'd upgraded ours and I wonder what the entry level offering is like as ours was certainly nothing special and was facing a carpark on the ground floor. The cowshed massage should be mentioned too - we enjoyed a fun 1 hour massage here with 2 of the ladies who were fun and bubbly and they even seemed to fix something in my back! Must also mention breakfast which was of a VERY high standard. The professional chef was visible to all as he tirelessly ran the spotless kitchen and turned out some very fresh and tasty food. Well done St Moritz, you seem to be making an effort to attract locals in, and we will be back in the not too distant ourselves!

Another 1 night stay with dinner B&B at my favourite hotel. We keep going back because the staff are great and the hotel so chilled. The beds are like little clouds. The food was great. Lovely walks! We love the cheeky deals they have and its not too far to travel so it is just a relaxing break. It is the staff that make it for me though. We will be back again.

Food turned up, soggy wet and greasy and all stuck together in one big lump. Quite un-edible. Toast was soggy and undercooked, really disappointed after spending a lot of money such poor quality food

So sad if it’s true they are closing this St Ives branch of their 3 stores. Sad if the town is making business too expensive to run. Thankfully they do delivery, adds about £1 per pasty. Their vegan pasty has the biggest variety of vegetables inside. I love buying few to take home and freeze each May when the St Ives Food Festival is on. St Ives has the biggest selection of pasty shops with such variety of fillings and pastries, both savoury and dessert. By the time you eat from stalls on the beach of the food festival, have a fruit and custard pasty or amazing cakes for breakfast and a savoury pasty or eat out at fantastic fish restaurants for dinner, just accept you will come home several pounds heavier. Next year i had planned to ask Pengs to have several vegan pasties frozen for me take home. At least i hope they return to St Ives with a stall on the beach for the next May festival. In fact i wish all the pasty shops would get together to have tasting trays of their pasties, on the one stall on the beach festival. It’s just impossible to get thru them all in 3 days. And Pengs will be most missed.
