Sunday roast was good great flavour and decent portions. As it was quiet. I thought the meat could of been a little warmer. Thanks to the gravy. It made a difference..Great service and great staff throughout.

A vibrant, busy authentic local town pub within walking distance of all the great things Falmouth has to offer. What you see is what you get and that is more than good enough for a short break in such a lovely area. Comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff. Good cooked breakfast. Internet and TV reception frequently sketchy. Parking is definitely an issue as the pub is in a densely populated residential area where on- street parking is at a premium. We were able to park a five-minute walk away on a main road. Not a problem but just take it into account. If we're in the area we'd definitely stay again and also recommend it to friends.

Location, lost a star due to 111 stairs, which prevents older folk climbing them from town. However, that aside, the bar ,is friendly, and has great rooms, to rent out. Great food, great beer and wine selection, plus football venue, or pool available. It's dog friendly and has entertainment most nights. Taxi costs £3.80. normally from town. It's close to buses, local and long distances, by National Express.

More of a locals pub and good that it is. Worth the steps up, good atmosphere and lovely chatty Team on last night. That was a year ago. Tonight was very underwhelming service, shame as otherwise a great quirky pub

Not a place to stay if you are precious about quiet. Great place to stay if you like friendly people and barreling laughter. The staff is great. Standard hearty breakfast. Good views. Lively nightlife in the pub below. Almost every night is some type of open mic, bingo, quiz, etc. great place to make new friends. Short walk from many great restaurants. Dog and kid friendly.

Jacobs Ladder is an ideally located pub with guest rooms for anyone who prefers walkable proximity to the historic Falmouth waterfront district and who also wants simple, comfortable, and affordable, pet-friendly accommodations. All of the staff at Jacobs Ladder were kind and welcoming, and their hospitable nature readily made us feel more like regulars from the neighborhood than out of town strangers on a 2-night stay.

Atmospheric pub. I’d give it a 10 out of 10. Empathetic and engaging host. Great music on the Sunday (open mic). All the staff were friendly, not just the publican. Laid back authenticity. Some decent views. Genuine hospitality in a lovely environment.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are all very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The bar and dining areas are welcoming and cosy. Great pub food and fantastic breakfasts. A lovely place to stay in the centre of St Austell. Highly recommend.

So sad if it’s true they are closing this St Ives branch of their 3 stores. Sad if the town is making business too expensive to run. Thankfully they do delivery, adds about £1 per pasty. Their vegan pasty has the biggest variety of vegetables inside. I love buying few to take home and freeze each May when the St Ives Food Festival is on. St Ives has the biggest selection of pasty shops with such variety of fillings and pastries, both savoury and dessert. By the time you eat from stalls on the beach of the food festival, have a fruit and custard pasty or amazing cakes for breakfast and a savoury pasty or eat out at fantastic fish restaurants for dinner, just accept you will come home several pounds heavier. Next year i had planned to ask Pengs to have several vegan pasties frozen for me take home. At least i hope they return to St Ives with a stall on the beach for the next May festival. In fact i wish all the pasty shops would get together to have tasting trays of their pasties, on the one stall on the beach festival. It’s just impossible to get thru them all in 3 days. And Pengs will be most missed.

Food turned up, soggy wet and greasy and all stuck together in one big lump. Quite un-edible. Toast was soggy and undercooked, really disappointed after spending a lot of money such poor quality food
